Hillarious. My question is, why would we even ask any medical doctor about vitamins, minerals or dietary advice? i.e. How to become healthy. It is common knowledge that any Dr gets perhaps a couple days training in it at med school.
I avoid these two doctors, because their hammy demeanor is disrespectful to viewers who have necessarily taken it upon themselves to shun pharmaceuticals and the discouraging "don't worry your pretty little head" attitude of WebMD, and the like. It's insulting that we are presumed to be on a quest for entertainment -- we're busy trying to not die -- despite the bull$#!+ "just eat a well-balanced diet" advice that GP's keep tucked in their back pocket. Regarding the gold standard, clinical trials, I am angered that these doctors conveniently overlook the fact that there is no financial incentive for such studies to even receive funding, because Big Pharma are rat ba$tards who value money -- and that's it. These are simple nutrients -- not exotic, patentable pharmacologics. We, the patients, are forced to take it upon ourselves, and to experiment loosely upon our own bodies because our unvalued lives are otherwise shortened by the ignorance of front line medical practitioners and their laughably minimal nutritional education. "Shut up and take your pills" is the wrong advice to be giving.
Thanks for this. As a post-menopausal woman if taking K2 in addition to my D3 doesn't do any harm, finding out it may be doing some good is enough for me to carry on doing what I'm doing.
I’ve had atherosclerosis and my cardiologist inserted drug-eluding stents in both my legs to improve blood flow. He did blood serum tests before surgery that showed very low levels of vitamin d - almost at the rickets level. I was prescribed an emergency megadose of 50000 IU of vitamin D3 to bring my levels back up. My research also led me to a book by a Canadian lady doctor who described ground-breaking research that showed that vitamin D3 supplementation ( and also sun exposure) led to the release of large amounts of calcium from the gut into the bloodstream, and additional vitamin k2 supplementation helped move the calcium to the bone, instead of clogging up the arteries. So I started doing vitamin D3+ k2 supplementation -OTC available in most drugstores.
Solid research out of university of Alberta linking D3 with positive reduction in dementia just came out. Being an old fart with chemo brain, anything that helps reduce dementia is a good thing. 😊
There are studies now linking low Cholesterol with dementia. So protein and healthy fats, keep your brain healthy. Sea salts or pink Himalayan salts help with dehydration, which also in severe cases leads to all sorts of gastric issues and brain fog memory issues.

In spite of my daily 90mins exercise with weight bearing programs, my bone density is on the borderline of osteopenia. My GP recommended twice a year injection claimed to improve my bone density. As a medication-free person, I forego my GP's advice and started taking the K2VitD3 plus Magnesium supplements along with my balanced diet meals. Once again thanks for sharing your unbiased medical knowledge.
Because I live in New England, I can't get enough vitamin D 3 during the winter months. I've been taking D3 + k2 mk7 from Sept. to May for years. I'd heard the K2 took the calcium out of the blood and put it in the bone and took a Dexa scan to see the condition of the bone density. It showed a very high level of bone density, right at the top of the chart. I can't say that the K2 affected it definitively, but something certainly seemed to be affecting it, keeping it elevated. I'm a Senior, mid 70's and the Tech was impressed at my bone density level at my age. I think I'll keep taking it. Your results my vary.
K2 not reducing the incidence of fracture is very easy to understand: magnesium makes bone hard not calcium. Of course you need calcium, and vitamin D and K2 will drive calcium into your bone and increase bone density but without magnesium, bone will not necessarily get harder. Unfortunately, a lot of people and unfortunately a lot of older people don't get enough magnesium from food and would need a supplement. It's really sad to see that when doctors are prescribing calcium they will prescribe a supplement with only calcium in it. It would be much better if they prescribed a supplement with both calcium and magnesium. A little boron might also help.
@MohammadAlhamdan-bw4rlYou are right! I highly recommend you invest in some RNA Reset ReMag (magnesium) and ReMyte (trace minerals). These are liquids which you put in your water or tea, coffee etc. They are top shelf and invented by Dr Carolyn Dean, the queen of magnesium. I have been using both for 4 years and love them. If you only take 3 supplements, they should be: ReMag, ReMyte and D3+k2 (preferably liquid or a spray). Surthrival make the best D3+k2.
In 2021 I had a chest CT that that showed aortic arthrosclerosis. Later that year I was diagnosed with osteopenia and started taking K2 and D3. Fast-forward a year and a half, I had a CT angiogram and the aortic arthrosclerosis was gone. no other changes in my diet no other changes in my activity just added D3 and K2. So no one can convince me that it doesn’t work! My HX 64 year old female post menopausal at 52. Familial Hypercholestremia with TC 302 LDL 203 HDL 100ish since mid 20s. BTW CAC score was zero, no plaque and no calcification.
Yes, it does work. The combination has reversed my osteopenia. People could also argue that it doesn't work, but it worked for me. My doctor suggested it and I listened.
I’m hoping this will happen for me as well. I had extremely cold sensitive teeth. Started taking 5000 IU D3 and 200mcg K2 last winter. I’m hoping to reduce tooth sensitivity.

Baby kale is great, just like any other lettuce type leaf. I agree with you, grown-up kale is just not going into my mouth unaccompanied. I do put it into my smoothie which includes 1 cup of frozen wild blueberries and 1/2 cup of frozen cranberries. Those cranberries overpower the taste of the gross stuff. Of course, you have to like the taste of cranberries!

I take MK7 because of family history of atherosclerosis, but I also eat a varied, mostly plant based diet. Maybe I will just save my money and wait for the evidence. It’s not a good point at all. No double-blind randomised control trial ? Why would any one company fund such a study if there is no benefit by way of a patent? So its competitors can potentially freeload the good news ? We’re not taking novel pharmaceuticals here.
My family physician, who I've been going to for 35 years, put me on Vitamin D2 50,000 IU once weekly. I asked him if I should take K2 with the D2 since I've seen so much on UA-cam about the importance of taking both together. He said he had never heard of that. Had no idea what I was talking about. It surprised me. He is not an idiot. He's very intelligent. How can a doctor not know this? It's not like he just became an MD last week.

Dr vegan multi vitamins have it in. It's supposed to be 2 a day but I decided to take one a day. That way I'm getting a top up on many nutrients but not enough to negatively affect me.
Worth checking with your doctor how much D3 you should take if you take it daily. There is a recommended upper limit especially if taken daily. The limit might be based on body weight or other factors, so just check with a professional to be on the safe side 🙂
We generate between 25,000-50,000 IU in the sun, so 7,000 IU is not unreasonable, especially if you are older. A 70yo generates about 25% of the amount that the average 18yo generates naturally. There's no upper limit on K2. No harm in investigating increasing that. I take the Athletic Greens D3/K2 drops that have 1,000 IU of D3 per drop and 140mcg of K2. Similar to you, I have 7 drops each day.

Personal - 3 generations of osteo-p & teeth loss; 7 years ago my teeth began crumbling - two pulled; after research I started D3+k2 - within two weeks (had dental to remove 3rd tooth - which was saved) my teeth began healing. No tooth issues since - I presumed my teeth seemingly 'disintegrating' had to do with lack of the K2 + D3. I will keep taking them. Statistics, by their very nature, are not personal. People need to learn their own body which can be a bit of trial and error. Most 'health care providers' I've interacted with in last 20-30 years, had no interest in nutrition nor getting to the root cause of any issue - they are only interested in treating symptomatically and getting you out the door. In doctor's defense many patients are not happy unless they are prescribed 'a pill' to cure their ill rather than do the hard work of repairing their diets, exercise and life routines (my own extended family included!) .

Just mentioning there is a lack of RCT's on vitamin K2, does not answer in any way, if there is a possible benefit of taking these two vitamins together?? 🤔 And so, I feel mislead by your video title! 😥

Thank you for this video. I have been taking K2 since I had a cardiac calcium score of 1900 and 3 stents. Nobody told me to do this but I have read that it helps to keep the calcium out of the blood and into the bones. Of course I have no idea if it helps but it makes me feel better.

Being an Ms patient with virtually no absorption of D3 , I found that D3 in fairly high dosage, combined with k2 really helped a lot. Ihave had no lesions in the last 9 years .
As someone who has been on coumadin in the past, which by the way does calcify your arteries, as K1 is blocked. Taking K2 did not interfere with my INR levels. I eat some vegetables, but my main focus is beef. I take D3 -K2 every other day, also very important to take magnesium with it. I don't take calcium supplements, I get enough calcium through dairy.

Please do another video on the difference between MK 4 and MK 7. I understand that MK 7 is more beneficial in helping the bones absorb the calcium from the blood. Because cows are fed grain instead of grass now, as you mentioned, we need the MK 7 to help with this, right? (I also use butter made from grass-fed cows.) Eat a good diet, that’s the key. I am vegetarian but I couldn’t give up dairy, I enjoy milk yogurt and cheese too much. I have been taking K2 for a few years thinking it would keep my arteries clear but clearly my diet is doing that for me it seems. So thank you Docs you’ve saved me €20 on a tub of K2 every two months. I’m just lining the pockets of a drug supplement company. So that’s the end of that. 👍🏼
Great video and I’m very interested to see your next one. There’s such conflicting views on D3 RDA itself; some as low as 800IU, others as high as 10,000 IU - then there’s the grey area of how vital K2 is with the aforementioned high dose. I find it all quite confusing.

I was told by doc that I was low on Vitamin D, So I took one "one a day dose" and was up almost every hour to urinate, by chance decided to look up side effects and this was one of them for Vit. D. People should be warned.....I do like your presentations though. thanks.
Ive been taking vit D + K2 since covid. Recently I upped my dose a little and it seemed to take away some vertigo I was having. (This was the advice of my sister's doctor for her) About 10 drops a day.

Thank you for your videos to help us understand. Two years ago I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. I watched and read so much on the internet about it, like you said, the majority had something to sell. I started V K2 and 4000 VD, my calcium intake was sporadic because of reading threat to heart, etc. and monthly Actonel, after 18 months another bone scan showed my osteoporosis was now osteopenia. I do strength training twice a week and try to keep moving. I’m going to be 70. I thought it was the Vitamin D and K that helped me. Sounds like everything is a gamble.
I know I am het.FH when I m 24 yrs old my total Cholesterol 380 mg/dl and I start Statin at that time until now I m 52 yrs old (on statin 28 yrs) I never has Cardiac symptoms but in 2018 I do Cadiac CT my score is 450 so doc recommended Baby aspirin 81 mg daily. Now I eat Crestor 10mg plus Ezetrol 10mg and baby aspirin daily. And Vit. K2 180 mcg daily. Today my LDL less than 100 mg/dl. do I go to the right direction??
I once listened to a talk about Vit A and Vit D, rather than Vit K. This person reckoned that VIt A is a neglected vitamin and we don't take in enough of it, whereas K is more common - it was a long time ago and I don't remember the detail, but the person seemed knowledgeable. Will somebody please talk some more about Vit A and Vit D?
Literally just took my micro ingredients Vitamin 5,000UI D3 & 100mcg K2 supplement 10 min before seeing this 😂 (yes, i tested chronically low for D multiple times).
Interesting post. I went to a PCP for pre-op (rotator cuff repair) testing and told the pcp attending i was taking 100mcg Vitamin K as well as 15000 units D3. The pcp attending did not know about vitamin K and said I was taking too much vitamin D3. My surgeon PA said I had a very good Vitamin D level for surgery after the tests from the PCP. How may people with no medical knowledge or background get responsible answers from the medical community?
It is hard to say and depending on your rate of absorption 15000 IU may be too high. There is a lot of garbage info out there on social media and many doctors don’t know much about nutrition

I’ve been on a daily calcium supplement (I’m lactose intolerant) with K2 for a few months now, and notice that the tartar on my teeth has disappeared. Hope its doing the same for my arteries. I take 60,000IU of D3 once a month after a meal with some oil in it, as both D3 and K are fat soluble vitamins. Safe dose. I have a PhD in Biochemistry with 5 publications on Vitamin D

@@seascape35 I find it convenient. It is stored in the liver and fatty tissues and is used as required. I monitor my Serum D3 levels regularly and am nowhere near toxicity. 2000IU/ day is good in my opinion.

Loss of bone is caused by a decrease in estrogen after menopause. Osteoporosis is also hereditary. Thin white women with light bone structure tend to have osteoporosis.

The major problem with all supplements is users have no clue what’s actually in the bottle. A few manufacturers have “independent “ labs test their products others say trust us. The lobbying in Washington to shield the supplement industry from regulatory oversight is causing damage to people. Consumer lab is a good source for research
The FDA is actually protecting the pharmaceutical industry by not validating supplements. And because the supplement industry doesn't get the government subsidies and price support of the pharmaceutical industry, supplement companies actually _don't_ have the free money to fund lots of testing.
I hate rabbit food... it makes me gag... probably why I have high blood pressure high cholesterol and now my Dr. says I am obese... Ya... but I quit drinking alcohol because they said I have fatty liver and my abd keeps getting bigger. Probably ascites... or CHF who knows... I take high doses of D3 10,000 IU and K2 living up in the North we usually don't get much sunshine, and with asthma and COVID around still I wanted a boost of vitamins that help respiratory to avoid infection...
I just started giving my mom D3 and K2 about a week ago and if the study out of Alberta, Canada is true maybe that will help with her dementia as well. I think there is a cure for dementia out there. It’s just that some of these big pharmaceutical companies are holding back so they can get more money grants and donations, they get a bigger salary
Sorry to hear that about your mom. Try to put your mom on low carb diet. No potatoes, bread, pasta. I'm taking Cod liver oil made in Norway. Little pricey 60$ Canadian for 500 ml. EPA and DHA are very important for brain functions. Look up Dr Cywes, Berg, Egberg. Stay away from SAD diet. Avocado's, Fatty meat, eggs, cheese. Fasting is important. I do two meals a day with 18 hours fasting. Lost 30 lbs in a month now just maintaining my weight.
How about incorporating daily exercise and weight training among the research contingent of seniors before attempting to draw efficacy conclusions of Vit. K2 or D3 or most any other supplement?
A question I’ve always wanted to know about vitamin D3: if we get D3 from being out in the sun, then does that equate to just taking vitamin D3 without K2. Essentially, if we take too much vitamin D3, we may be promoting deposition of calcium in our blood vessels. If we’re exposing our skin to vitamin D3 regularly then should we just supplement with K2?
Like to share that Dr. Ford Brewer of PrevMed heart health fame recently said to take 400 mcg of Vitamin K2 (on UA-cam) which I do take daily with my Vitamin D3 10,000-20,000 IU supplement and test my Vitamin D blood levels twice a year to see that I am not exceeding the 500 nmol toxicity limit. I've learned that 10 minutes daily in the sun will supply your body with the amount of Vitamin D needed. If one doesn't eat the diet needed to consume the Vitamin K2, a supplement will be effective.
So, you should take Vitamin D3 with your calcium and if there is some vitamin K2 in your multivitamin, and you eat a lot of veggies, that should be okay, right? And now the million dollar question: Would having osteogenesis imperfecta influence this? And also, since K2 is the second highest mountain in the world, do you get more of this vitamin if you climb that? 🤪
My take on it is that it is fine together but k2s benefit regarding blood vessels isnt 100% proven. Think taking them together is fine but I would make sure not to do high doses.

50,000 IU is not a megadose, I take 5,000 IU everyday during winter and do regularly blood checks for vitamin D.

K2 not reducing the incidence of fracture is very easy to understand: magnesium makes bone hard not calcium. Of course you need calcium, and vitamin D and K2 will drive calcium into your bone and increase bone density but without magnesium, bone will not necessarily get harder. Unfortunately, a lot of people and unfortunately a lot of older people don't get enough magnesium from food and would need a supplement. It's really sad to see that when doctors are prescribing calcium they will prescribe a supplement with only calcium in it. It would be much better if they prescribed a supplement with both calcium and magnesium. A little boron might also help.

@MohammadAlhamdan-bw4rlYou are right! I highly recommend you invest in some RNA Reset ReMag (magnesium) and ReMyte (trace minerals). These are liquids which you put in your water or tea, coffee etc. They are top shelf and invented by Dr Carolyn Dean, the queen of magnesium. I have been using both for 4 years and love them. If you only take 3 supplements, they should be: ReMag, ReMyte and D3+k2 (preferably liquid or a spray). Surthrival make the best D3+k2.

In 2021 I had a chest CT that that showed aortic arthrosclerosis. Later that year I was diagnosed with osteopenia and started taking K2 and D3. Fast-forward a year and a half, I had a CT angiogram and the aortic arthrosclerosis was gone. no other changes in my diet no other changes in my activity just added D3 and K2. So no one can convince me that it doesn’t work!
My HX 64 year old female post menopausal at 52. Familial Hypercholestremia with TC 302 LDL 203 HDL 100ish since mid 20s. BTW CAC score was zero, no plaque and no calcification.
Yes, it does work. The combination has reversed my osteopenia. People could also argue that it doesn't work, but it worked for me. My doctor suggested it and I listened.

Just learned on another’s video taking Vitamin K2+D3 that Magnesium is needed at the same time & only take all 3 with a natural fat meal to absorb.

Baby kale is great, just like any other lettuce type leaf. I agree with you, grown-up kale is just not going into my mouth unaccompanied. I do put it into my smoothie which includes 1 cup of frozen wild blueberries and 1/2 cup of frozen cranberries. Those cranberries overpower the taste of the gross stuff. Of course, you have to like the taste of cranberries!

It’s not a good point at all. No double-blind randomised control trial ? Why would any one company fund such a study if there is no benefit by way of a patent? So its competitors can potentially freeload the good news ? We’re not taking novel pharmaceuticals here.
My family physician, who I've been going to for 35 years, put me on Vitamin D2 50,000 IU once weekly. I asked him if I should take K2 with the D2 since I've seen so much on UA-cam about the importance of taking both together. He said he had never heard of that. Had no idea what I was talking about. It surprised me. He is not an idiot. He's very intelligent. How can a doctor not know this? It's not like he just became an MD last week.

Dr vegan multi vitamins have it in. It's supposed to be 2 a day but I decided to take one a day. That way I'm getting a top up on many nutrients but not enough to negatively affect me.
Basically try it if you feel you need too, it won’t hurt you and if it works for you, good.
I'm currently on 7000 IU vitamin D + 120mcg K2 daily. I feel great, and haven't been ill in 5 years (except for a 2-day stint with covid).
Worth checking with your doctor how much D3 you should take if you take it daily. There is a recommended upper limit especially if taken daily. The limit might be based on body weight or other factors, so just check with a professional to be on the safe side 🙂
We generate between 25,000-50,000 IU in the sun, so 7,000 IU is not unreasonable, especially if you are older. A 70yo generates about 25% of the amount that the average 18yo generates naturally. There's no upper limit on K2. No harm in investigating increasing that. I take the Athletic Greens D3/K2 drops that have 1,000 IU of D3 per drop and 140mcg of K2. Similar to you, I have 7 drops each day.

Personal - 3 generations of osteo-p & teeth loss; 7 years ago my teeth began crumbling - two pulled; after research I started D3+k2 - within two weeks (had dental to remove 3rd tooth - which was saved) my teeth began healing. No tooth issues since - I presumed my teeth seemingly 'disintegrating' had to do with lack of the K2 + D3. I will keep taking them.
Statistics, by their very nature, are not personal. People need to learn their own body which can be a bit of trial and error. Most 'health care providers' I've interacted with in last 20-30 years, had no interest in nutrition nor getting to the root cause of any issue - they are only interested in treating symptomatically and getting you out the door. In doctor's defense many patients are not happy unless they are prescribed 'a pill' to cure their ill rather than do the hard work of repairing their diets, exercise and life routines (my own extended family included!) .
You are absolutely right. All medications are blockers not cure. Things can be cured by natural way.

Thank you for this video. I have been taking K2 since I had a cardiac calcium score of 1900 and 3 stents. Nobody told me to do this but I have read that it helps to keep the calcium out of the blood and into the bones. Of course I have no idea if it helps but it makes me feel better.

Being an Ms patient with virtually no absorption of D3 , I found that D3 in fairly high dosage, combined with k2 really helped a lot. Ihave had no lesions in the last 9 years .
As someone who has been on coumadin in the past, which by the way does calcify your arteries, as K1 is blocked. Taking K2 did not interfere with my INR levels. I eat some vegetables, but my main focus is beef. I take D3 -K2 every other day, also very important to take magnesium with it. I don't take calcium supplements, I get enough calcium through dairy.

Please do another video on the difference between MK 4 and MK 7. I understand that MK 7 is more beneficial in helping the bones absorb the calcium from the blood. Because cows are fed grain instead of grass now, as you mentioned, we need the MK 7 to help with this, right? (I also use butter made from grass-fed cows.) Eat a good diet, that’s the key. I am vegetarian but I couldn’t give up dairy, I enjoy milk yogurt and cheese too much. I have been taking K2 for a few years thinking it would keep my arteries clear but clearly my diet is doing that for me it seems.
So thank you Docs you’ve saved me €20 on a tub of K2 every two months.

I was told by doc that I was low on Vitamin D, So I took one "one a day dose" and was up almost every hour to urinate, by chance decided to look up side effects and this was one of them for Vit. D. People should be warned.....I do like your presentations though. thanks.

Ive been taking vit D + K2 since covid. Recently I upped my dose a little and it seemed to take away some vertigo I was having. (This was the advice of my sister's doctor for her) About 10 drops a day.

True. Taking d3 and k2 together lowers the potency of k2. Dr Keith Mccormick said so.
Thank you for your videos to help us understand. Two years ago I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. I watched and read so much on the internet about it, like you said, the majority had something to sell. I started V K2 and 4000 VD, my calcium intake was sporadic because of reading threat to heart, etc. and monthly Actonel, after 18 months another bone scan showed my osteoporosis was now osteopenia. I do strength training twice a week and try to keep moving. I’m going to be 70. I thought it was the Vitamin D and K that helped me. Sounds like everything is a gamble.

The main reason I started taking vitamin D3 years ago was for depression, my opinion is it works for me!
I know I am het.FH when I m 24 yrs old my total Cholesterol 380 mg/dl and I start Statin at that time until now I m 52 yrs old (on statin 28 yrs) I never has Cardiac symptoms but in 2018 I do Cadiac CT my score is 450 so doc recommended Baby aspirin 81 mg daily. Now I eat Crestor 10mg plus Ezetrol 10mg and baby aspirin daily. And Vit. K2 180 mcg daily. Today my LDL less than 100 mg/dl. do I go to the right direction??
I once listened to a talk about Vit A and Vit D, rather than Vit K. This person reckoned that VIt A is a neglected vitamin and we don't take in enough of it, whereas K is more common - it was a long time ago and I don't remember the detail, but the person seemed knowledgeable. Will somebody please talk some more about Vit A and Vit D?
Calcification of soft plaque is a good thing, not a bad thing. Sof plaques are easier to rupture and cause clot formation.
Better to have no plaques.

My vit D level did not rise, even with taking 1000IU a day, until I took D3,K2 together. Now I just take it in the winter

Literally just took my micro ingredients Vitamin 5,000UI D3 & 100mcg K2 supplement 10 min before seeing this 😂 (yes, i tested chronically low for D multiple times).

Interesting post. I went to a PCP for pre-op (rotator cuff repair) testing and told the pcp attending i was taking 100mcg Vitamin K as well as 15000 units D3. The pcp attending did not know about vitamin K and said I was taking too much vitamin D3. My surgeon PA said I had a very good Vitamin D level for surgery after the tests from the PCP.
How may people with no medical knowledge or background get responsible answers from the medical community?
It is hard to say and depending on your rate of absorption 15000 IU may be too high. There is a lot of garbage info out there on social media and many doctors don’t know much about nutrition

I’ve been on a daily calcium supplement (I’m lactose intolerant) with K2 for a few months now, and notice that the tartar on my teeth has disappeared. Hope its doing the same for my arteries. I take 60,000IU of D3 once a month after a meal with some oil in it, as both D3 and K are fat soluble vitamins. Safe dose. I have a PhD in Biochemistry with 5 publications on Vitamin D

@@seascape35 I find it convenient. It is stored in the liver and fatty tissues and is used as required. I monitor my Serum D3 levels regularly and am nowhere near toxicity. 2000IU/ day is good in my opinion.

Loss of bone is caused by a decrease in estrogen after menopause. Osteoporosis is also hereditary. Thin white women with light bone structure tend to have osteoporosis.

The major problem with all supplements is users have no clue what’s actually in the bottle. A few manufacturers have “independent “ labs test their products others say trust us. The lobbying in Washington to shield the supplement industry from regulatory oversight is causing damage to people. Consumer lab is a good source for research
The FDA is actually protecting the pharmaceutical industry by not validating supplements. And because the supplement industry doesn't get the government subsidies and price support of the pharmaceutical industry, supplement companies actually _don't_ have the free money to fund lots of testing.
I hate rabbit food... it makes me gag... probably why I have high blood pressure high cholesterol and now my Dr. says I am obese... Ya... but I quit drinking alcohol because they said I have fatty liver and my abd keeps getting bigger. Probably ascites... or CHF who knows... I take high doses of D3 10,000 IU and K2 living up in the North we usually don't get much sunshine, and with asthma and COVID around still I wanted a boost of vitamins that help respiratory to avoid infection...

I just started giving my mom D3 and K2 about a week ago and if the study out of Alberta, Canada is true maybe that will help with her dementia as well. I think there is a cure for dementia out there. Sorry to hear that about your mom. Try to put your mom on low carb diet. No potatoes, bread, pasta. I'm taking Cod liver oil made in Norway. Little pricey 60$ Canadian for 500 ml. EPA and DHA are very important for brain functions. Look up Dr Cywes, Berg, Egberg. Stay away from SAD diet. Avocado's, Fatty meat, eggs, cheese. Fasting is important. I do two meals a day with 18 hours fasting. Lost 30 lbs in a month now just maintaining my weight.

A question I’ve always wanted to know about vitamin D3: if we get D3 from being out in the sun, then does that equate to just taking vitamin D3 without K2. Essentially, if we take too much vitamin D3, we may be promoting deposition of calcium in our blood vessels. If we’re exposing our skin to vitamin D3 regularly then should we just supplement with K2?
Like to share that Dr. Ford Brewer of PrevMed heart health fame recently said to take 400 mcg of Vitamin K2 (on UA-cam) which I do take daily with my Vitamin D3 10,000-20,000 IU supplement and test my Vitamin D blood levels twice a year to see that I am not exceeding the 500 nmol toxicity limit. I've learned that 10 minutes daily in the sun will supply your body with the amount of Vitamin D needed. If one doesn't eat the diet needed to consume the Vitamin K2, a supplement will be effective.

My take on it is that it is fine together but k2s benefit regarding blood vessels isnt 100% proven.
