After 38 years of marriage, my biggest regret is that my wife was a virgin and I was not. I rushed into the what the world pushes and came out of it missing the mark of what Love Truly Is! I can attest to this. I did not save myself for marriage and deeply, deeply regret it. I know I am missing out on the blessings in that area. If you are a virgin, please please stay one until marriage. And if you've messed up, don't think you should still continue in the act because you've made mistakes- stop it now and you'll thank yourself later! People respect those who don't follow the crowd and stand up for what they believe in. Have confidence in yourself knowing you've had the strength to abstain, praise God.

snYp keys Trust me, the temptation to have sex is just as high for girls as it is for boys - girls probably aren’t so vocal about it.
But it’s definitely worth it to wait, that way you know that you are marrying somebody because you genuinely love them, not because you care about their body. There’s plenty of time to have sex, and sex is great and healthy for a relationship of course, but it’s great to have it with the person whom you’re going to spend the rest of your life with.

I’m 18 and still going strong. The best advice I can give you is don’t be alone with a guy in a room because you have to be really strong to fight that. I almost lost it before from cuddling with a guy but I really just felt ashamed when God passed through my head and I fought off the urge.

I think, for some Christians, speaking incessantly about sexual morals allows them to assert a position of moral superiority. They get to promote their own brand of righteousness at the expense of someone else’s. If you saved yourself for marriage and it worked for you, that’s great. But I find all these comments entreating people to SAVE THEMSELVES really disturbing. Also, I hate the way this guy obsesses over wanting a virgin. A virgin bride. This idea of “purity” is so gross. It perpetuates a lot of problematic societal notions regarding the “value” of female virgins. (Not male virgins btw). Virginity isn’t a commodity. It’s a sexist concept. Do what works for you, but I find his obsession (and many of these comments) really unsettling.

God created sex, and lay down the commandments of how we can honor him in that department. He's not some God who wants to prevent you from enjoying it or experiencing it. And honestly, the sheer amount of people inside and outside of the church who have sinned in this department, and have come out on the other side saying they regret what they did, is more than enough evidence for me that God's way is the best way.
I saved myself for my husband and I’m now 51 . I have 6 children and I tell my children my love story and we ( my husband and i ) show them through the love we still have after 34 years of marriage that it makes a stronger connection and that because I saved myself my husband respects me and knows I’m only for him. I have no one to compare him to and I only love him and think of him with all my heart.

It is so worth it and is possible if you set up guard rails like they say! My husband and I met in 6th grade, started dating in 10th grade, but we wanted to wait until after college to get married. We dated for 8 and a half years before getting married and still waited for our wedding night. There is so much to be built in a relationship that is not physical. Learn how to respect him and communicate with him in this precious time you have together before marriage!

I didn't grow up in church and made a lot of mistakes concerning sex before marriage. I became a Christian at age 19 and am blessed to be married to the love of my life for almost 4 years! My husband was raised in church and was a virgin on our wedding day. The first time we kissed our even held hands was after we were pronounced husband and wife! I truly feel that God has honored our decision to obey His Word and wait till marriage! Even though we are far from perfection as individuals and as a couple, my husband is my best friend and we have such a blast in our marriage! Hi Christine, I have a question regarding your response, did you and your husband talk about not kissing before marriage and were you put off by it? if yes, what was the turning point for you?
@@FyaccPersonally, I was not turned off by it, I was completely for it. Maybe, (mostly) because I knew that even one kiss or touch could lead to so much more 😕. As far as the kissing and physical touching (holding hands, hugging, etc..) for us, it was something that we both had made up in our minds as individuals before we even met. I knew that I wanted a Godly Man and if he really loved me he would respect my boundaries and want to protect the integrity of our relationship, and for my husband, he wanted the same in a women. It was important for me, because as I stated in my first comment, I made a lot of mistakes concerning sex outside of marriage before giving my life to Christ. Any relationship I had before was always based on sex first, then trying to build a relationship, which always ended in heartache. Also, My husband and were both very familiar with the Word of God that says:
" ... It is good for a man not to touch a woman." (1 Corinthians 7:1-2). My husband did grow up in church and very conservative, so the concept of kissing or touching a girl was so foreign to him, It even took him some time after we were married not to jump anytime I would try to massage his shoulders or hold his hand, lol! But I wouldn't have it any other way because I know if we was faithful to me before he even knew me, he has self control to continue to stay faithful to our marriage vows!
Of course, it didn't take him THAT long to get used to the massages or holding hands, I just over exaggerate 😁
I will say this, our whole becoming best friends, dating, courtship, and engagement lasted lasted 3 months before we were married (met June 5, 2015, married September 13, 2015💞😁) I think some people make the mistake of having these long, drawn out courtships and then long drawn out engagements and leaves both people with more time for temptation to arise. On that note though, I wouldn't advise getting married just to be able to have sex. Marriage is work and takes work on three parts, the husband, wife and God. Sorry for the long response, I had a lot to say, I guess, lol 😆

My husband and I were both intimate with other people in prior relationships. Sadly, we wish we would have waited until we found each other. It’s our biggest regret. If you are still a virgin, do NOT cave in. The wait is worth it. Regret is never worth it :)

boodoin red - its an emotional bond that creates problems if you don’t stay with that person long term afterwards. You exchange energy when you’re physical and it’s pieces of yourself you’ll never get back if the relationship ends in a breakup. I look back and think of the other 2 people I gave myself too and all the problems that came from not waiting.

It was horrible, hut eventually he brought me back to more normalcy. It took seven years, so don't think it strange if it seems way too long. I will be 22 in a few months and let me tell you, I have no shame in declaring my respect for this temple of God, my body that has been gifted to me by my Creator Jesus Christ, and that has been made alive by The Holy Spirit, through abstinence and divergence from this sexually-charged and flesh-driven world we live in! I know it is incredibly hard at times, I totally understand that. But you are stronger than you know through the power and grace of The Lord - never stop fighting for HIS word and ways to be the centre of your entire life.

Melinda Faye I don’t believe the physical aspect of virginity, it’s not so black and white I don’t think. My hymen 100% broke when I was very young as I was a competitive gymnast, and it can also break with horse riding etc - definitely didn’t effect my spiritual virginity

I believe I understood them to mean: Instead of saying "revirginize" as a behavior modification to instead to use that opportunity for those who didn't wait to re-affirm them of the gospel. Another thing, I don’t think you understand what the purpose of testimonies are. They aren’t meant to “brag about their righteousness” they are meant to show how following the teachings of Christ can have positive impacts on your life. They are meant to inspire others to follow Christ, not to shame anyone. Also, the only reason they mentioned revirginizing is because they are kind and not judgmental. I'm with this girl for 6 weeks now, and i thank God on my bare knees for this girl. On our first date at the end we were walking through the town and i carefully started talking about sex and that i preferred a girl, who, like me, was stil a virgin. She then replied yes, she still was. Never even kissed someone, unlike me. I was so grateful! So happy I found this video! Me and my boyfriend, of almost 7 months, know we want to get married. We love spending alone time together, but is so difficult staying pure and having pure thoughts. We are both Christians and definitely want to wait till marriage, but have quickly learned that it is very difficult doing that when we love each other very much. This is amazing to see. I remember being picked on and judged for my decisions regarding saving myself, which made me question my intentions and the purpose of waiting. However, this video was a great reminder of why saving myself is one of the best decisions I can make. Recently I have struggled with the thought that I will never find a good, Christian man who will be a leader in a relationship through Christ. This is the best reminder that if you continue your walk with God and stick to the goals you set for yourself, anything is possible and God will put the right people in your life in his perfect timing. I'm 29 and still a very proud virgin. I'm not religious but I'm saving myself because I don't want to share that with anyone else but the person I marry. If I don't get married then I'll still stay a virgin. I just have very strong morals is the best way I can describe it :) I have had people say they respect it and then try to force me and I didn't give in. I was one of the ones who didn't wait, though I knew what was right. And sadly that bad choice altered so much of every decision because I had been raised to believe that if you didn't wait, you were then damaged goods. The "good boys" wouldn't want a girl like me. The preacher boys, the missionaries... they only wanted perfect girls. And so I self destructed and in the end settled for the only man I ever thought would want me. We have been married 8 years now and have 5 kids together. By Gods grace and mercy we have both grown and God has given us love. But I want more than anything for girls especially to know that just because they didn't wait, doesn't mean they are worthless! God uses broken vessels every day. 1 mistake does not have to ruin the rest of your life. I wish someone would have told me
Well, imagine someone who kept her virginity and has been a straight A student just because her parents led her into believing these two qualities (as well as having a college degree at the right time) were the only things that would ever make her worthy of love. Any kind of love. Her parents' love, her teachers' respect and a future husband's love and respect. Imagine she lived what were supposed to be the best years of her youth acting not decent, but completely oblivious to her emotional and physical needs, pretty much like a castrated person, in order not to dissapoint, because a college degree wasn't there yet to give her the right to freedom. Imagine the chain of straight A's got broken at some point because exhaustion and hormones occurred and that's where extreme despair and feelings of total worthlessness burst out. Parents just put gas on fire. Imagine not being able to get the college degree the year you were supposed to graduate, because of total hopelessness. Imagine the oportunity of a relationship occurred, where the guy had no respect for virginity, but was quickly heading for a PhD. As he smelled terribly bad self-esteem he went on to emotionally abuse the girl and blackmail her into giving up her virginity, all on a very subtle level, while still claiming to be respectful of her principles until marriage. So as she was trying to work things out with her first real attempt at a relationship, her bad self esteem and her parents guiltying her academic inferiority, she was unable to understand how can finally having a relationship after twenty-something years of total loneliness hurt so bad!
Anyway, she got dumped like you throw some dirty rag, after a short period of time. He couldn't even humiliate her properly. Still the parents did not miss the opportunity of saying that it must have been her lack of a PhD that discouraged the nice hard-working guy from marrying her. Parents never met the guy, by the way. College was far from home. He made sure he didn't need to face anyone with authority in her life and offer explanations.
I came here from Sutton's dad's channel. Their family offers a good example of parenthood, especially for someone who has always tried to be a good christian, but who benefitted from ill family principles.
My point is... it's ok to feel frustrated. But it's also ok to be the first one who forgives oneself for being mislead by harmful education. You can't know it all from the beginning. If perfection can be achieved by some (without succumbing to pride, of course), it's finally fine by me, but I know so many people don't have the basic means of making it perfect in a beautiful, unstained marriage that starts at a perfectly youthful age.
And don't let your imperfections affect your self esteem and self love.

I’m 29 and my husband is 33, but we got married at 22 and 26. We waited for marriage, but I was a virgin and he was not. He had only been with one other person, but it meant everything to me that he committed himself to waiting until marriage and that we were able to successfully do it together. It was NOT easy as we were both very physically attracted to one another, and there were times that we didn’t put up “guardrails” as well as we should have, but we communicated throughout these times and committed to doing better. It was so worth the wait and we both agree that we’re very happy and satisfied with the sexual aspect of our marriage. We have learned and grown together since our wedding day, but it started out good and has only gotten better! I’m very encouraged to see others in this day and age still choosing to wait. And like she said, I’ve never had anyone look down on me or make fun of me for waiting. I’ve actually had the opposite response- people who have envied me and regretted not waiting. People who admired my choice and wish they had done the same. It’s never too late!

But, here is a reality that you may already know but if not definitely be aware. From my perspective, as a woman, we were not all blessed to have a loving father in our lives. This truth is so damaging to the point that many women seek love/sex too soon to fill that void. I wish I could fix those women's hearts but only God can. I was one of those women. I wasn't introduced to Jesus until I was 30. And learning about how much I was loved by Jesus changed me so much. I am married now but i still worry that if i was left single again, those old fears would return. The biggest being I am nothing without a man's love. Please pray for those who suffer from that longing to be loved but confuse it with sex.
