Many young wives eventually turn-on the porn for their young husbands because they are so tired of trying to take care of him 3,4 or 5 times a day. Women should thank porn for giving them a break!

As a woman, admitting I had a problem with pornography was embarrassing. But I cut it off from my life, I stopped reading certain books and watching certain shows to help fight the temptation. Whenever those thoughts enter my mind, I remember what I’ve read in my devotionals, to take hold of my thoughts and change them and direct them towards God. It’s a struggle but it gets easier everyday and my friends are so understanding and supportive. Thanks you guys for letting me know I’m not the only one who struggles with this sin.

I've had the same issue, girl! I've found that when I spend more time in the Bible and prayer, and less time on social media (especially when I'm feeling alone), it really helps! A few days ago, I also said a prayer for God to completely take away this struggle from me, and so far, God has been with me through it! There were moments of temptation these past few days, but my interest in those temptations has gone away! :)

I think for some women (including myself) porn was a school too. Sometimes we watched it because we wanted to know how to be “good enough”, “sexy enough” “desirable enough” and we think we should act more like people do in porn. I think the real damage done by pornography remains a pretty "bold" topic about which to be *personally* open. And I think that holds true in most secular environments also, in a certain way: It requires boldness to admit it's a problem, rather than reflexively normalizing it or relativizing it.
Of course, it's correct to state that plenty of secular venues treat pornography as a normal everyday kind of topic, even a throwaway reference for jocular purposes. Discussing porn in THAT way requires no boldness at all.
But outside of Reddit's "nofap" or the site YourBrainOnPorn, I think it's still comparatively rare to see non-religious persons engaging in a serious way with the research demonstrating the biochemical harms done by video pornography, OnlyFans, et cetera. Matt Fradd's book/presentation "The Porn Myth" is making good strides -- although, there again, it took a person from a religious background to be willing to write a book that lays out the negatives of pornography use, even in a pure-science non-religious way -- but there's still, I think, a hidebound/knee-jerk tradition of cultural pushback against suggesting "there's anything wrong" with porn use. Such traditions take a while to change (Reddit etc. notwithstanding).

Say it with me: Women 👏 struggle 👏 with 👏 addiction 👏 too.
I'm sorry. I just needed to get that out there. This topic is such a close and personal one, and I wish people would be more aware how much women actually do struggle with sexual addiction. Now more than ever.
I've known and talked to so many women who dealt with sexual addiction in one way or another. More so than men. That's not to say there are more women than men struggling, only that the ratio is a lot closer than people report.
Okay, that aside, I have a long, detailed story, everything from my discovery of porn, falling into addiction, learning the truth, getting saved, fighting it, and finding freedom.
I've told the story so many times, however, that I'm just going to skip to the solution part of my journey.
•Confess the sin to God, repent, and give your life to Him.
•Tell someone you know and trust completely.
•Actively fight against it, avoiding triggers and situations you know cause you to stumble.
•Live right and healthy outside of the addiction. Exercise, shower more often, eat healthy foods. When you're feeling good in areas on the outside, you'll want to live healthy and right on the inside.
•Fast. From food or technology, whichever you need to if you must.
•Porn blockers. There are free ones and even browsers that have blockers already ingrained in the system.
•Talk to people who have gone through or are going through the same thing.
•We have power to rebuke the devil is Jesus' name. Cast satan out and he and his demons will flee from you.
•Pray earnestly for others. It softens your heart to other's and their situations and also brings you closer to God.
•Pray all the time, even going about your day, say, "God, help me. Keep me strong. I can't do this without you."
•Don't be afraid to ask others to pray for you. Friends, family, or fill out a prayer request form online.
•The Bible says that strength is made perfect in weakness. I started noticing the biggest change in my situation when I humbled myself, realized I was weak and couldn't do it on my own. I started saying it in prayers, praying constantly, "God, help me. I can't do this alone. Take it from me."
•I stopped promising God that I would never do it again. Instead, I now pray and earnestly ask Him to help me to not do it again.
•Stop focusing on your sin and focus on your Savior.
•Envision hell. It's a scary thing to focus on, but it snaps you back into reality.
•Envision Heaven. We are God's children, the redeemed. Heaven is our home, our final destination. The temptation will weaken when you think upon Heavenly things.
•Lastly... Praise God and Worship Him. He saved your life. He's the only one who can free you from what you're going through. He loves you and knows you and wants to help you. Praise casts out every bad thing, lifts God up, and keeps our eyes on Him. So praise Him when everything's fine. Or even when your fighting temptation, praise.

Besides the fact that porn is just really unhealthy for your mind (addiction) and for your relationship, porn industry can be very harmful to those who are in it. By watching it you're not just ruining your relationship with someone else, with yoursel or with God, but you are also "sponsoring" and supporting an industry that objectifies and exploits women. An industry that has proven cases of child abuse (child pornography), aggression and humiliation of both men and women, human trafficking and many other horrible things. Porn isn't good for anyone.

My addiction to porn ruined my past relationship with my ex girlfriend over 4 years ago. It made me so jealous and made me think that she was doing stuff with other guys all the time. Pornography messed me up psychologically and twisted my mind into these weird fantasies that would never happen in real life. Being with a bunch of other dudes that acted perverted all the time and are always talking sexually about women did not help me at all. I really had to pray a lot and talk to some people of my addiction. Today I’m finally free. I pray so much now and I realized that this is a serious problem, especially for Christians.

I’m a 16 year old who struggled with Pornography for 9 years (I started when I was 7). It has been an uphill battle; one thing the Lord has shown me that has GREATLY impacted me is the key to overcoming EVERY addiction. The key is to abide with Jesus. In John 15 it talks about abiding with the Vine (Jesus) and bearing fruit according to the Spirit (kind of like how an apple tree bears apples). You don’t walk by an apple tree and hear it grunting and yelling “APPLES!!!!”; the tree just makes apples EFFORTLESSLY. I believe this concept can be directly applied to every bit of warfare in our lives; by abiding with Spirit, you will bear fruit in accordance with the Spirit. Those temptations start to vanish because you start to bear new types of fruit; those desires begin to fade because the Vinedresser (God) prunes the branches (us). I encourage you to read John 15 and see for yourself what abiding with Jesus does

My husband started watching it when he was about 12, I met him at age 24 he's 44 now and I found out 3 weeks ago about his addiction. He's been doing it our entire marriage. Yes I am crushed, yes I almost left him, yes I was angry at him but I am still here and working with him to defeat this. We went to Church and he got prayer and he hasn't had any desire to watch it in those 3 weeks ....it's almost like he see's me again. I didn't see that he had changed and couldn't see me for me but now he's stopped watching he's like a different person. Now we have to rebuild the trust, which I have a feeling will be a very long journey.

I admire you for staying and helping him overcome his addiction, most women would just give up easily. However, don't lie to yourself and dont lie to him. You won't trust him the same way as before, and as soon as you distant yourself from him, the relationship is already weakened. You don't seem to understand why men watch porn. Men watch porn because of urges and porn for him, at this point, it has become normalised since he has been watching it since he was a teenager, and porn is not reality. Men do not watch it thinking that they are deliberately cheating. Which is why you shouldn't take it personally, since he has been watching it before he met you. You are just living a fallacy. You might as well divorce him because despite him making progress, you still won't trust him anyway.

@@christianrowbotham7386 porn is an emotional regulator. Many men (and women!) are addicted to porn because it is a hyper stimulus. a vast majority of young adults discovered porn before masturbation and since young age used it as a massive dopamine hit. Very often from boredom or stress situations. And that behavior pattern carried onto the adult life. Just because he watched it before marriage doesn't mean he can't stop now.

Being a Muslim I can so relate to this and understand whatever you have said. Islam also teaches us similar values and gives us similar strong lessons regarding pornography and it being a sin of multiple parts. When one watches it, one's eyes sin, the ears sin etc. This was such a good video and I hope and pray that more people are able to get over this. Also in our religion, fasting is recommended to keep away from such desires. Fasting in our religion has its own rules, things that break it, maintain it etc so keeping a fast keeps one from breaking it by falling into such temptations. However there is a great deal of specifications involved in fasting and not just prohibiting food and water on oneself. Muslims would know what I am talking about. Talking about a few plans I would say being in good company, not being alone a lot, definitely not with a person from the opposite gender, ignoring and going to your family and sitting with them whenever the temptation arises are just a few things that one can do.

Great topic, very bold to address it, and good work. I struggled with porn since I was 10 until 33, it wasn't until I had the courage to confess to my wife that I was finally free and had the power within myself to be strong enough in my vulnerable moments to flee. It really hurt our marriage, my wife is still dealing with it 3 years later. I wish I had never done it in the first place. She is so beautiful inside and out and so much more than I deserve, but the sinful mature in us just tempts us to ruin every good thing we have. We are on a path to building trust again. I am so glad to be clean for the last 3 years now, I function better, love better, see my wife better, better at my job. I can't wait to raise my kids with the understanding and wisdom I have about sexuality, desire, relationships and how much better it is to be strong and wait.

When I finally started in a relationship with someone it was in the back of my mind wondering how I would tell him. Then one night we were talking on the phone and I made the joke saying u don’t even know all my secrets and I expected it to be laughed off but he was like well tell me so we can get past them. The door was opened and I stepped through and told him. It took me a bit to get the story out but at the end he didn’t say nothing for a second then he told me his secret- he had fell into it too. We talked through things and this huge weight I had on my shoulder for years just slid off. When God puts them in your life they won’t judge you they will love you no matter what.

I've got to say, God bless y'all for making this video (and the other video about porn)! This is definitely a topic that needs to be more openly discussed!
So I just found y'all through Mike Winger & decided to check out your videos, then I stumbled on this video, watched it, then went & watched the other video y'all did over the same topic. I found these videos very comforting because my husband & I had the porn discussion several months back & it was EXTREMELY HEARTBREAKING for me!
My husband & I started dating in high school (we've been together 7 years now). I knew most guys watched porn, I didn't think too much of it when we were dating. In college, he actually mentioned it to me a bit because he had been talking about it with a church leader & was trying to do better. Sadly, I never really thought to have a discussion with him about it. We got married in March of 2020, during our last semester of college. We moved to a different state at the end of August. We had no friends or family around & we hadn't tried to find a church. My husband is in the Military & he was waiting to start his training & I wasn't really working at the time either. Quite frankly we were in a weird place mentally & emotionally. In November, I discovered that my husband had been watching porn & I was so hurt & so sad for a while. We had many long discussions about porn & lust. I still check up on him about twice a month. If I remember correctly the porn was stopped pretty quickly, if not as soon as we talked about it, but he would still have some hiccups here & there with Instagram. We started going to a church in November & the people are wonderful, but we don't feel comfortable talking about this with people from our church. Mostly because it's an older demographic. I just felt really alone in this, like I needed to hear from other people who could relate with our situation. Y'all's video helps me feel less alone & helps bring some peace of mind. We worked through the toughest parts of it & we've become so much stronger because of it. There is still a little pain I feel & I have to stop myself from overthinking & overanalyzing certain things now.
Seriously though, as Christians, we need to have more of these discussions & I thank y'all for stepping out & doing that!

This topic needs to be addressed more and we need to stop normalizing the sex industry, it really hurts everyone in the long run. I personally struggled with pornography for years and still do to this day and it's embarrassing to admit sometimes. But, it's also part of my testimony and I can empathize with so many people now and tell them how many people it actually hurts and how to overcome it. One of the things I started doing was every time I had an urge to look or read anything that put God's gift into an unholy light, I'd pray for a friend that was on my heart. Every time temptation would call I would pause and start praying, taking my mind off the obstacle, and using it to uplift someone else and get in the habit of prayer. I don't always succeed at this but the urges have become few and far between and I still pray for those friends. I also have told others to help keep me accountable.

It is really tempting everyday to read, watch, and im really ashamed about it. Im still struggling on this until now. And hank you for the tips of overcoming it. Would love for you guys to share more personally how Sutton found out about Nates porn use and exactly how it made her feel etc. And the facts & science behind porn use proving how destructive it is. And how it’s linked to human sex trafficking. People need to know this stuff!

It’s tough when it’s something no one ever talks about but almost everyone goes through. I’m still dealing with this battle and hoping to break from the addiction. Just really scared and nervous about how this will affect future relationships. I’m 17 atm btw. I’ve been dealing with this for 6 plus years and I’m ready to stop

I’m so happy to see people talking about this. Pornography has always had an impact on my life. When I was younger my biological father was addicted to it, and he even was addicted to child pornography. When I was older, a couple things were done to me and they have left me scarred. Even though he didn’t rape me it was still damaging. Unfortunately I started down the road of a porn problem a few years after that when I was 15. I had buried my stillborn little brother a year prior, due to some messed up family issues, I lost my horse, who I had loved for years, and was just angry, especially with God. I started dealing with lust and it got worse and worse. Until I was looking at pornographic artwork and dealing with terrible lust issues. I also made a discovery during this time, I’m not sure if it’s due to the things that happened with my biological father or not, but I realized that I had been masturbating without even knowing what that was. I was even more angry and continued to do that, knowing that I was doing it. I was also drinking and smoking at the time. Fast forward now, I’m 18. I have since greatly improved my walk with the Lord. It has taken me a few years of work to undo the lust and temptation. I still deal with it. A huge turning point was this past year. I started really praying that God would help with this issue and He truly does work in mysterious ways. Earlier this year I was diagnosed with endometriosis. Due to the masturbation I had suspected it bc of the terrible pain I’d feel during it. When I realized everything that came with endo it helped a lot, even though issues with having children and all the chronic pain and such that comes with this is heartbreaking. It has refocused my mind on God. I’ve been reading my bible more and I’m more motivated than ever to remain pure and push those temptations away. Because if sex is going to hurt, and I’m going to have to fight through my health issues to do it and enjoy it, I should make that fight worth it and make sure that I save myself for someone who truly loves me and should save it for marriage. God works in mysterious ways. I still struggle with this. It’s a horrible thing. But as I continue to grow in Christ, I’m finding more and more ways of dealing with it. I’ve also opened up and talked to people about this. There’s ways of getting help. Don’t be ashamed, get help and cry out to the Lord. He is a sovereign God who loves His people. Cry out to him. Go seek help. You can heal and get through this.

Thank you for speaking out about this uncomfortable subject. Just 3 days ago I found out my husband's addiction to porn. We are both Christians and it is very hard for me to understand. I asked him to go stay with a family member and begin counseling. He is doing everything to keep our marriage together. I am at home working healing my own inner self and now my self insecurities because of this. I pray we both can heal. I'm worried I can never trust him again. I'm insecure that I can never measure up to the women he's watched online. I guess we both have healing now. Any prayers are truely a blessing.

Nate and Sutton, you two are special, awesome, and so transparent, which helps people your age so very much! I love all your life stories and you cover so many topics. You are both wise beyond your years because you apply your knowledge in productive ways, then share those experiences and learning with others. This is a way that you’re serving your community!
But, I wanted to share that my marriage actually DID end in DIVORCE, BECAUSE OF pornography! 😢😧😰😥 He was so sneaky about it and I found out by accident when I was at my MOST VULNERABLE, when I was 8 months pregnant!!!!!! 😢😥😩 I felt so, so betrayed!!!! I felt so trapped because I was having my baby with him!!😞 He tried to excuse his behavior by saying it was an addiction, then I asked him why he didn’t tell me about his addiction before we got married, and he actually told me that he knew I would not have married him if he had told me!! That meant that he took my choice away and deceived me!!!! ...it went from bad to worse, because he did not give it up after 3 more years of a TERRIBLE marriage!! I wanted out so badly, but plugged away for our little son and because I came from a broken home, which had caused a lot of pain and anguish in my childhood! He almost completely ignored me sexually, and I had a nice figure, was 110 pounds at 5’3” and worked out aerobically 5 times per week at the gym! I ignored other men and I was way too dedicated, trying to save our marriage! Then, when I had a newborn daughter, he had an affair and abandoned the 3 of us and would not give us so much as a dime!! One time, I didn’t have enough money to buy diapers! Our church leader had told him two years before that, when I said I wanted a divorce because he refused to give up pornography, that if he did not give it up, eventually he’d have an affair! Truthfully, I was relieved he had an affair, as I could now get out of a loveless, sexless, uncaring “marriage” that was so very unfulfilling and broke my heart and eventually the hearts of my fatherless children!! 😥👶😩😥😰 One of my friends put it best when she said, “Aw, Deb, you were married for four years, yet you never had a husband!”
So, Nate, you’re so awesome for your honesty toward and love for Sutton above all other women!!! ...In my book, you deserve a medal for putting God, your wife, and your children first! You will be GREATLY rewarded for your integrity and wisdom and excellent choices regarding pornography and transparency and realizing it is one of Satan’s GREATEST TOOLS AGAINST FAMILIES!! 😢😩😥 it sure did tear mine apart!
Guys out there, DON’T BE FOOLED!! Pornography addiction before marriage DEFINITELY DOES affect your future marriage!!!! ...Don’t let it!! ...I promise you that the trade-off between pornography and your wife, children, God, and your good name is NOT worth it, and NEVER can be!!
Nate and Sutton, please keep right on sharing social issues that affect relationships and spiritual issues that help relationships!! 🥰

    Awesome words of wisdom😊
All sin is a choice & we need to constantly choose to do what’s righteous or we will choose to sin. The word of God says choose you this day whom you will serve. I struggled with an addiction but when I filled myself with the word and loved God more than my sin, I stopped. We need to choose to live righteously. If we are filled with the Holy Spirit we will hate sin.

Yes. I used to struggle with watching it and have found freedom from it now. But I dealt with it growing up, mostly throughout middle/high school. It did warp my view of sex and what it is for and God’s design for it. My husband claims he never watched actual porn, and I believe him. When we got married, 5 and a half years ago, we were 19 and virgins. I had a view and an expectation of “newlyweds”. My husband didn’t have the drive or curiosity or knowledge like I did and tbh it hurt me mentally and emotionally the first half of our marriage. Bc of porn I expected him to want sex all the time or to think about it all the time. But he wasn’t like that. We still did, but I was always let down because it didn’t happen Like I wanted or expected bc I was training my mind to expect a lie.... even though I knew it was a lie. I even fell into self... “time”... which I had to confess to my husband a few times in the beginning of our marriage. We had many arguments and discussions over sex more than any other subject in the beginning of our marriage lol porn creates these unrealistic fantasies in your mind and it’s do unhealthy. Not to mention, God gave sex to married couples to be enjoyed only with each other. It should be your own, not what the world says it should be. You as a couple make it fun by figuring it out together lol We are 25 and have 3 kiddos now and that struggle with porn is completely gone now. I hate it. The whole industry. Then having the knowledge of what happens in that industry, it’s disgusting and sad.
I had struggled for so long, feeling like I’d never gain victory over it. I even believed the lie that I was doomed to always struggle with it, so why fight it. I was in high school then lol my parents put up a lot of roadblocks but I found loop holes. My parents tried to lead me biblically through this sin and I wanted to fight it... but I didn’t at the same time. Satan had some pretty convincing arguments.
I highly recommend the app EverAccountable. Our whole family has it and it’s on all the devices. It monitors all phone activity and sends reports weekly. Alerts the others who the reports go to (you can choose, my hubby and I see each other’s and our kids, but not the rest of my families) it also takes screenshots. It overall is great. It has some inaccuracies, but it is a great tool if you need help stopping. When you know someone else can see it all, the temptation isn’t so strong. Plus, repenting and asking God for help. He will help you. Place scripture where you can see it. And don’t view things that are triggers to you. Denounce satan when he tries to make you stumble, cuz he will. And when the temptation hits, verbally, out loud, pray and ask God to take the urge away. Let God be your strength. I hope my story helps. As a woman I see so much importance about sharing your dirt... especially with this topic. Not many women tell their struggles with it because they are too ashamed and embarrassed. Much love here! Prayers for all of you who are in this battle!
