Thank you for being the only video I've found to actually explain everything thoroughly so I could understand for myself rather than trying to mimic settings. Awesome!
Oh. My God. Been struggling with my audio since I got the new mic last year (the Fifine k669) and ALL I NEEDED WAS THIS?? As always, without fail, Wild saved my streams once again. Every time I follow one of your suggestions it's BOOM quality! I 1000% owe it to you to be an affiliate and having more and more people coming to my streamings. You are awesome.
Holy Crap. After using Blue Yeti X which can literally pickup the noises of ant walking a mile away. Your in depth guide genuinely helped out so much and I legit now have fan and air conditioner blowing right next to the mic yet I sound crystal clear. I literally cannot thank you enough dude!
Thank you so much, I had a problem with hearing my mouse click and my keyboard clacking. 100% recommend this walkthrough/tutorial for noisegates, very simple to follow and understand
I'm glad I stumbled across your channel last year. I made a lot of exponential changes that changed my broadcasts in ways I could never imagine. If I hadn't stopped streaming for so long, I feel like I would have grown even more with your tips. Always a pleasure watching your tips videos.
Thank you so much for making this so easy to understand! In my mind I understood the close/open threshold completely backwards, now I've got it fine tuned and working great!
Noise gates are great when used correctly, but if you are in a noisy environment, all it does is turn off the mic when you're not talking so that those noises don't come through when you are quiet, but they do absolutely ZERO in removing the noise WHILE you are talking, which can be very distracting and sound even worse, like you're manually turning the mic on and off when speaking, because you speak and immediately all the background noise comes right back. I don't understand whey the recording video you posted doesn't do this (adjusted in post?) but no matter what noise gate I used, it would still allow background sounds through when I start speaking.
@@damienholland8103 There are noise suppressors as well - those are the ones you want to look at. They may distort the sound a bit but overall could vastly improve audio quality if you’re in a noisy room
Thank you so much. I dabble in animating and I've always avoided voiceovers because of the feedback/buzzing I get from my computer in the background. This solved my problems and made my day.
that was the noise i was getting i was going to watch your video but somehow when i try to do it on my own i somehow managed to get rid of the fan noises i was getting while i was streaming i was like eww that will no attract people coming in so today i got bored and i managed to fix every little detail by fooling around with it one step was messing so i watched yours and it works like a charm i no longer have that annoying fan noise or hearing my laundry in the background so flippin happy thank's
Oh my goodness, thank you so much, man! This helped so much, I just bought a $50 mic and it was super crackly and had a huge amount of default gain, and this video helped with that! I am new to youtube and streaming and really appreciate the tips!
i didn't even have to mess around with the settings because the background noise is just the fan in my pc and the cicada's! thanks a lot dude. really appreciate it!
i live on a farm and got birds, chickens, horses and cows right outside my window and my brother down stairs listening to loud music, this helps a lot thanksss
Figured this out a couple weeks ago and my god was I happy, thanks for explaining it a bit better though so I can tweak it to perfection! Always a help.
perfect! I have wanted to get away from using noise rnn noise suppressor because it does cut off some laughs or frightened squeals. It's good for general use but to finesse my audio I think a noise gate is better.
Thank you for the tips, u actually helped me out alot with my channels, i recommended your channel to my friends that started streaming during the holiday. Your the best man 😁👍
Thank you for this. I do have a blue yeti mic. And I don't currently have a gaming room so sometimes there are people talking in the room and fans are blowing sometimes. My mic is on the opposite side of my pc but they are both on my desk.
Hi Wild4Games! I just wanted to thank you! for all the efforts you put in your video's to help us out! I just hit Affiliate yesterday! and its been a blast Today i got 2 Subscribers! Your video's came in handy a lot! so Thankyou
I have the same microphone as you and have some fan noise issues because my pc can get quite loud. I will copy these settings and it should help tremendously. The biggest thing making my stream un-professional was that and I can’t wait to fix it
I have my Gaming PC into my audio interface, and the mic. Which means what OBS gets on streaming PC is the Mix of Mic/Music/Discord/etc. So I can't clean them individually. If I put a noise gate into my mic, doesn't matter, cuz it's gonna grab gaming sound, and the mic will still be making those fan noises in the back. When the game, music and discord are silent, then the noise gate activates. Then Music goes on, or gaming goes on, and without even talking, there we go fan agains.
I honestly want to get into recording but nothing I seem to do works to get rid of background noise. I mean yea I could go without my fan...but I don't want to suffer in heat and be uncomfortable during gameplay :
Thank you for your help! I'm a streamer and I've been trying to work out the little things throughout OBS and I have really clacky keys that I like to hear when typing but not while streaming and a Steam Controller that is obnoxiously loud so I'm hoping I can cut out some of these sounds!
Hi and thanks for this video. Question... How do you eliminate the voice feedback (echo) from someone playing the same game in the same room? Thanks and keep doing what you do. I've learned so much!
Man this is great! I've been wanting to get a condenser microphone but the noise around my house made me take a step back. I might actually get it after this. Can you use this while not streaming/recording? So to say I'm just playing online casually and want to communicate with friends?
You would have to use an audio program for casual gameplay/communication aka something like discord. Look into things like Voice Meter Banana and Nvidia Apps
Hopefully you still see new comments for this video... 😅 My voice ranges from fairly deep when I'm just talking, to very high pitched when I'm laughing, and my laughs get cut out A LOT. Is there any way to fix this so that my entire vocal range can be heard, but still keeping background noises at bay?
If you are using a noise gate with your mic it should work across any platforms you use that mic for. Provided they allow audio filters. Thanks for watching!
> Easiest to use and easiest to understand > Me still trying to remove keyboard clickity clacks after a few weeks because I have no idea what I'm doing lol
My room wall is made of cement, at night crickets always making noise and my neighbor always uses his tools power saw and his dog always barking. Any tips?
Any setting recommendations for someone that has 2 kids and a husband that also streams? We currently struggle with the mics picking up each other. I have a razer siren x
If you can I'd start with as quiet of a place as you can get like a spare bedroom or something. If that isn't an option you can usually turn up the volume of what the mic picks up via audio and broadcast settings. Finally try to mitigate any noise. If you can't buy or get ahold of sound proofing foam you could try to pin up blankets over flat surfaces like walls or rugs on floors. Hope this helps, thanks for sharing!
Great, great video. Have an issue though, I feel like using the Noise supressor (RNNoise selection) eleminates 99% of the issues with my mic / mechanical keyboard sounds/ background noise - but, if I use my keyboard and talk at the same time, my voice gets all muffled up and its impossible to hear what I say live on stream. I tried changing from RNNoise to "Speex" and try and adjust from the lowest to highest, but nothing helped at all in this "mode" - nothing changed no matter what I did. Is there any way to use RNNoise while writting and speaking, without everything getting muffled or do I just need to learn to talk seperately from writting? EDIT: I've tried using the "Mic"-option on Nvidia Broadcaster, but it makes both my PC and especially CSGO lag incredibly much.
@@Redstonn ended up using an entirely other guide. A bit more elaborate but had a lot of the ppl watching my streams tell me my voice and mic sounded amazing (in terms of being clean etc).

Same. There is still white noise when I speak and the gate allows my voice through.
