2 years later in 2022 you are still helping people! Ever since I started recording for UA-cam I could never figure out how to become more professional. I always thought the more expensive the equipment the better... Until on this day I stayed up until 6am just eager to improve my audio settings... My last 10-20 videos have been terrible with mic quality... I would go search and watch UA-camr after UA-camr who would never explain in depth what it really means to improve your overall audio quality... Many Thanks to you! I am a very small UA-camr who is very nit picky about every single one of my mistakes and it drove me crazy to the point where I just couldn't take it anymore... And I decided that I wouldn't go to sleep until I fixed my mic and audio settings... Nights like these are what it takes to grow and become successful on this platform and you were a big big part of that. MANY THANKS FOR SETTING ME UP ON MY WAY TO SUCCESS! YOU ARE THE MAN!

Dude I just wanna say I love this video. I know it’s like 4 months old so you probably won’t see this comment but I just really wanna thank you. I did a live stream yesterday where my audio quality was a messed up. I have like a very small channel so no one really watched the stream so I really didn’t have any feedback to let me know how the audio was and I didn’t hear it either when I was checking. I streamed for two hours and the noise quality was horrible and afterwards I was on the verge of tears. But then I found your video and you just breakdown everything so well and explain it and it DRASTICALLY improved my audio quality and literally fixed every problem I had from yesterday and I just wanna say thank you so much man. Your channel might not be as big as you want but your content quality and information is just amazing and I can’t thank you enough for making a simple 20 minute video fixing all my problems. All I wish is I discovered your channel sooner. Thanks so much man

I know that I am late to the party in finding your content, but I seen you state that you were thinking about giving up. I just wanted to say that out of all the videos on setting up this new venture I'm partaking in yours were by far the best. They are so detailed, and informative. Your videos are always well shot and very professional looking. I went to an Art Institute when I graduated high school and took several classes in audio. I really believe I retained more from your 22 minute video then I did an entire semester class on it lol. I know that you have to do what is best for you, and spend your time on things that will benefit you the most. I just wanted to let you know that even though the numbers may not show it right now. It has nothing to do with the content you are putting out there, and that you are really helping people to better understand your craft. Thanks for the videos you have done, and good luck with what ever decision you decide to make.

Just an FYI, the 'Noise Suppression' should be right after the 'Gain' filter. The 'Compressor' and 'Expander' will introduce patterns in the noise which makes the 'Noise Suppression' less effective. Not necessary for most setups, but for example if you buy a high gain mic like the sm57/58 and plug it straight into the pc motherboard (mic in), you can push most of the noise out and have a very usable mic without an audio interface.

This is because Spotify is being output to a different location. You won’t hear it because it’s not being output through to desktop sound (which is what you are hearing)
This way you can set filters specifically to Spotify. If you want to hear it, in the settings on the right side, you can change the setting to “monitor” and you should be able to hear it in theory. would have to test this out

I know this is an old video, but it just saved my sanity. I've been running around in circles trying to fix my audio quality, using various filters, messing with Audacity, all sorts of stuff, and was hopelessly lost. Thanks to this video, I FINALLY fixed my issues! It's too late for my current series but my next one will have nice, clean audio at last. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I did some digging and found out that you have to create a folder in C:\Program Files called VSTPlugins (C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins\)... Then unzip the file into that filder. Then restart or open OBS and it will now see the dll. Hope this helps.
