@streamscheme you did great man. Note going to lie I was waiting for the “if you want to sound good you need xyz things” and the fact that you didn’t do that and also time stamped the video for people (I watched it all twice haha) is great. INCREDIBLE video. Improved my streams mic quality SO much. Viewers asked if I got a new mic. Same AT2020+ USB I've had for 6 years! Awesome videos man, just wanted to say thank you for this and the web cam one, incredible tips!
I can't tell you how appreciative I am of this video alone. Every so often an update on SLOBS screws with the settings and I forget about what I need to tinker with on my Noise gate so I don't end up with a choppy audio track. Eljay, you're a real one bro. Thank you.
I wanna say a massive thank you to stream scheme you have helped me so much and me just having the equipment and the knowledge to be able to launch my first stream is a dream!! i owe a lot to you!!

This video is amazing. I'm guessing 90% of noises in my surrounding are gone. I'm not using a professional mic, but it definitely helps with laptop webcam too. It used to record birds, people talking and cars on the street. Now its gone. THANK YOU so much.
Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for pointing out device leveling in system sounds. Been trying to get my XLR mic to not sound grainy as all hell by adding filters, messing with the EQ on my mixer, and going through tons of tutorials trying to fix it but no one else pointed that out and it made a massive difference just changing that setting. My audio quality has been bugging me to no end because of that and I finally understand why. Thank you again!
Nobody has told me to mess with the settings on my desktop.i think it solved my issue. I had an issue of the webcam mic being picked up as well as my headset and it just sounded bad. I disabled it in the desktop audio settings and it sounds more clear. I am new to all of this software and streaming but your videos have been very helpful.
I am so glad it helped! The desktop issue is something I didn't find anywhere! I had an issue with it early on so it was important to me to make sure I added it.
I know this is 10 months old. But, I just wanted to say thank you. You have a very understandable way of teaching. You feel very upfront honest, and legit. Thanks again. I am learning so much.
I know this video is a few years old and Streamlabs OBS looks a little different, but I managed to fix my sound thanks to you. I really learned something and truly appreciate it. Hey! I really appreciate you taking the time to comment such kind words! It really does mean the world to me that so many people have been helped even a little bit!
Just found this channel from the 7 tips I believe and I can’t believe that I’ve never seen this before with the vids you make and the vids I’ve watched thus far it really makes me want to get back into streaming again. Thank you for making vids like this.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention using the compressor for audio ducking. I use this so that my voice and and game audio/background music come out to the same level, but when I speak the game audio/background music lowers automatically. Been working very well. I also used some EQ and compressor filtering on my iPhone earbuds mic to make it sound almost as good as a decent condenser mic. That’s next on the list to buy, but it has me sounding so much better in the mean time.
Great advice, honestly I tried to keep it incredibly simple. Basic audio and a few filters that help deal with the major issues I see people having. It’s great you’re researching how to make it the best it can be before spending heaps on a mic as well! That’s awesome!
I've been having some serious audio issues and I'm so grateful for this video! I've been clicking buttons and trial and erroring to see what worked, but this helped put actual knowledge to what each function does. Thank you!!

Where I live there’re non stop whistling frogs and crickets at night 😭 The obvious fix to this is to stream during the day but I’m a student + athlete so there’s barely anytime. Hopefully this video helps
Thank you! A really nice, to the point video. I wish more channels would make tutorials like this, explaining simple things in a simple matter like you did here. You don't have to be an audio engineer for this but some people act like it^^"
Omg this has been the most helpful video yet. I was trying to figure out if my mic was truly garbage or it was picking up the laptop fan. Turns out it was picking up the fan, and now the audio sounds much better. Thanks!!!!

I'm sorry I have no idea how to help with this, I don't know your computer, or what you clicked. I would recommend unplugging and plugging your mic in, then trying to follow the steps in this video again. Good luck!
Okay I did all your steps. but how do I get my teammates to hear me when I play with them. I’m using a microphone with a usb. I can hear the audio when I’m streaming but when I’m with teammates it’s like I’m muted.
Unrelated topic, but it said “stream scheme viewers watched it” so I’m hoping that you did too. Did you watch Devin Nash’s “never accept twitch affiliate” video? If so, what do you think about it? Do you agree?
So i spent 13 hours mixing and trying to make my AT2020 USB Plus sound as good as its suppose to, But all i got was over blown, Grainy sounding audio. Within 15 minutes of this video the mic sounded absolutely perfect! Thanks so much! Keep up the great work!
gosh this helped me so much, im a naturally softer spoken person, and i live in an apartment building with pretty thin walls so i had my mic sensitivity up pretty high so you can hear me, and you could hear EVERYTHING ELSE 😭😭 streat noises, my computer... everything. the noise suppression helped immediately, and then the noise gate made it so my chair noises and keyboard noises were non existent !!
omg thanks bro i am currently just starting out streaming, this helped so much in giving me a more crisp sound w/o any background noises ! appreciate the tips and tricks bro really helped alot :D
I cant wait to utilize your tips to improve my content. I know audio is something I've struggled with since day 1. Thank you for what you do. Also i laughed when you said farm sim because that and American truck sim are my main content at the moment. Keep up the great work and ill keep watching.
I love this video!!! My audio improved 300% :D From every single one vid i watch on your channel i feel surge of passion! I hope u will grow only bigger and bigger because you showed me what i have to improve on my own streams as a rookie streamer.
Oh my god. I have been using my microphone backwards for 8 months. 8 MONTHS! You are literally godsend man, i would have kept doing that had i not seen this video. Thank you so so much
Thank you for the audio information. We have had a lot of interesting issues with audio but we also over complicated a bit by introducing a digital mixing board to manage each audio source on the computer independently. Other then thanking you I am mostly seeing if you still are at a 5 minute response time as claimed in the video. Thanks again, and I've been watching and liking each your videos from your first. I appreciate the information and the production style.
My mic is with headphone for gaming (a Razer). I had trouble on the sound because of the noise it makes but thanks to the tips you said with the filters, it works fine now! I also had problems with the desktop sound. It was almost always louder than I wanted but thanks to gain filter, it works perfectly now! So, thank you!
As a new streamer, this was a huge help! On my first stream I had friends commenting on my mic audio sounding "crispy" all thanks to this guide right here!
thank you for this video its helps so much with all my audio problems just got a blue yeti and been tryinh to figure out how to get rid of the keyboard and you sorted it out straight away cheers man.
Thanks so much for this. I’ve got the equipment, I’ve got the bandwidth but no clue about audio. Can’t wait to test these methods out. Thanks for explaining it all.
This video was amazing! I was wondering how I could stop my USB Mic from picking up my mouse clicks, typing on the keyboard, and controller inputs since I stream on console! Thank you so much for this awesome video! The rest of your content has been super helpful as well to a beginner such as myself!
I don't stream, but this dramatically reduces the amount of time I have to fuss over audio stuffs, including taking out audio fuzz from mics. Thanks for the help!
I haven't finished the video yet but just the Noise Suppression is going to be so helpful. My PC is on my desk and a fan close next to me in the warmer months. This is going to help me so much, thank you!
Also just using noise suppression option it has a RSAA option or whatever it says. It uses more CPU but it does AMAZING and you womt even have to use the other 2 filters
These worked really well. I didn't know anything about audio settings. I'm currently trying to rise my stream quality and these are good tips to raise it without buying any new gear :)
holy hell, this was mega useful for me! I was looking at trying to by a better microphone but you just saved me a-lot of money! Here's a like and a new sub!
I can't even explain how much of a difference changing my Windows volume for my mic made. It was at 100% and lowering to 60% made it sound professional. Thanks mate.
Dude i love your content so soo much thanks for the tips and the Overly is insane.Ur doing gods work for small streamers, I'm gonna start to steam in a few months and your videos are helping so sooooo much
This was an amazingly helpful video, I didn't even know monitoring or filters existed on slobs, and the difference is insane especially because my computer is stupidly loud (stock fans) and this completely cancels its noise. Your videos are great and in like 2 days it's made my streams so much better. I've never found any tutorials as great as these (most of them don't really help out beginning streamers or explain things very well.)
Glad it was helpful! I will be honest this is literally the video I am most proud of on the channel, I think it probably has the most practical value out of any tutorial I've made. I try recommend it to almost everyone hahaha
Yeah Out of the videos I’ve seen this is probably the most important one to have, outside of just setting up slobs or obs, just cause it changes the audio so much
Admittedly, I had trouble setting it up the first time mostly because my mic had no desktop mount yet and was just standing in front of my keyboard. Hard to find good settings when the keyboard is sometimes just as loud as your voice. On my second attempt, now mic mounted onto an arm, these filters and settings really make it sound so much better. Thank you again for the video, watched it twice and it really helped me getting started on the basic setups.
Thanks Stream Scheme, i needed a refresher on my SLOBS and this is exactly what I needed. Also just adding for Noise Suppression I use " RN Noise " to automatically remove audio out side my voice for me. I use a Desktop / Laptop for streaming so I don't have to worry about CPU usage.
I have a dynamic mic and even without any boosts there is a bit of white noise and I can't hear my voice unless I'm right next to the mic (but at that point it's like quiet asmr). So I have to have like 20-30+db but that also inscreases the noise substantialy. Since it's so loud, the noise supression filter makes my voice a bit robotic. For some reason I sound just fine when my voice goes through discord. My microphone is connected with a XLR to mp3 cable directly into the computer, I always suspected this to be the culprit of the noise. I figured you'd have some ideas on what to do since you've worked with audio for so long.
That bit of white noise is most likely just your room tone, like a fan, air con, etc. I do recommend not using XLR to Mp3 and instead look at a real audio interface, as for the noise suppression filter, ease it off a bit to avoid the robotic sound but also it won't do much for a dynamic microphone due to no consistent white noise reading to remove. As for the not picking your voice up, that is the MP3 to xlr issue probably, you most likely new a cloudlifter or decent interface like a GoXLR to get the proper gain without adding the white noise.
Such a great guide. I dont comment on videos usually but I t had to throw my appreciation and thanks!! Not only did you demonstrate step by step the what to dol.. you gave a really well structured & communicated education and explanation of the why. The understanding of how it all fits together is so important, and you nailed it. Great work & Many thanks!
This is really good information! Thanks for the suggestion of this video Stream Scheme. Helped alot with the other explanations here that weren't in the other video.
Where I live there’re non stop whistling frogs and crickets at night 😭 The obvious fix to this is to stream during the day but I’m a student + athlete so there’s barely anytime. Hopefully this video helps
It will 100% help with those problems, the microphone filters will go so far!
@@StreamScheme it’s been working pretty well so far. Thanks again 🙏🏽
WHAT A LIFE SAVER, i have a low end mic and made a slight static sound and when i used ur settings it fixed that, thanks soooo much
Nice!
Thank you! A really nice, to the point video. I wish more channels would make tutorials like this, explaining simple things in a simple matter like you did here. You don't have to be an audio engineer for this but some people act like it^^"
Glad it was helpful! :) Thanks for the kind words!
Omg this has been the most helpful video yet. I was trying to figure out if my mic was truly garbage or it was picking up the laptop fan. Turns out it was picking up the fan, and now the audio sounds much better. Thanks!!!!
Glad I could help! Thanks for the kind comment!
You forgot to mention the filter that makes your voice sound less deep and less Irish ☘️
That’s the advanced class!
No no, more deep, more Irish. Kind of a SepticCorpse if you will.
Thankyall. Good stuuuuff. I kinda mess with it myself and see what happens and lesrn as ai go but youve just pointed me tk thefilters automaticallyso coooool thankya. I havea qiedtion about the desktop audio channel as all of a sudden i see no signal comi g through and am not sure whst i pressed to make thst signsl go away. Ive looked into properties advanced properties filters etc and my desktop audio too. Nischt found. So any tip grestly appreciatd. Am going to chsck out your overlays too woohoop thankyou so much!
I'm sorry I have no idea how to help with this, I don't know your computer, or what you clicked.
I would recommend unplugging and plugging your mic in, then trying to follow the steps in this video again.
Good luck!
@@StreamScheme ahhh thanks no worries. Good idea to unplug n plug back up! Doh. Forgot that ole trick 😄
Okay I did all your steps. but how do I get my teammates to hear me when I play with them. I’m using a microphone with a usb. I can hear the audio when I’m streaming but when I’m with teammates it’s like I’m muted.
That depends on the game or what you’re using to talk to them.
Check your in game microphone settings or if you’re using discord those.
Good luck!
Thank you for the advice, my mic is decent right now but this will allow me to take my stream and audio to the next level.
Keep it up! Glad I could help!
Unrelated topic, but it said “stream scheme viewers watched it” so I’m hoping that you did too. Did you watch Devin Nash’s “never accept twitch affiliate” video? If so, what do you think about it? Do you agree?
Great video bro it makes since not to be affiliate if u wish to use ur content elsewhere .
So i spent 13 hours mixing and trying to make my AT2020 USB Plus sound as good as its suppose to, But all i got was over blown, Grainy sounding audio. Within 15 minutes of this video the mic sounded absolutely perfect! Thanks so much! Keep up the great work!
Been putting this off for way too long. Finally watched the video and got my audio improved. Appreciate it!
Hope it helps! :)
I have been needing that filter for keyboard clicking for so long! Thank you!
No worries! Glad it helped!
Amazing Content! I learned A LOT about Audio just watching this. THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME A LIFE
I agree! The most helpful guide I’ve seen!
gosh this helped me so much, im a naturally softer spoken person, and i live in an apartment building with pretty thin walls so i had my mic sensitivity up pretty high so you can hear me, and you could hear EVERYTHING ELSE 😭😭 streat noises, my computer... everything. the noise suppression helped immediately, and then the noise gate made it so my chair noises and keyboard noises were non existent !!
omg thanks bro i am currently just starting out streaming, this helped so much in giving me a more crisp sound w/o any background noises ! appreciate the tips and tricks bro really helped alot :D
I cant wait to utilize your tips to improve my content. I know audio is something I've struggled with since day 1. Thank you for what you do. Also i laughed when you said farm sim because that and American truck sim are my main content at the moment. Keep up the great work and ill keep watching.
I have been trying to figure out how to fine tune my mic, and this video definitely helped😁
Thank you for the clear and simple understanding regarding open and close. You did me a great service for my stream. Much appreciated!
So glad it helped mate! Thanks for the kind words!
Thanks a lot! I was having fan noise issues all the time using the Noise Suppression and Noise Gate helps remove it a lot.
I love this video!!! My audio improved 300% :D From every single one vid i watch on your channel i feel surge of passion! I hope u will grow only bigger and bigger because you showed me what i have to improve on my own streams as a rookie streamer.
Smashing it Kuro, glad the video helped you! Thanks for the lovely words!
Oh my god. I have been using my microphone backwards for 8 months. 8 MONTHS! You are literally godsend man, i would have kept doing that had i not seen this video. Thank you so so much
Glad I could help! We've all been there... maybe not for 8 months... BUT we've all been there! hahaha
@@StreamScheme i guess i should always read the manual! lol
Sadly only 15 minutes this time but pretty good for almost 60k subs!
Glad the videos were helpful as well, I appreciate the kind words!
Glad I could help! Keep it up! Hope I can keep helping!
Glad I could help! Good luck, Eleventy!
This video was amazing! I was wondering how I could stop my USB Mic from picking up my mouse clicks, typing on the keyboard, and controller inputs since I stream on console! Thank you so much for this awesome video! The rest of your content has been super helpful as well to a beginner such as myself!
Glad I could help! Seriously happy the video did everything you needed! :)
This was HUGE! Thanks so much man!
No worries! :)
Just got my first actual stream mic and this video was a massive help! I'm hoping this will help improve my stream significantly.
Congrats! Glad to hear the video helped!
I don't stream, but this dramatically reduces the amount of time I have to fuss over audio stuffs, including taking out audio fuzz from mics. Thanks for the help!
Glad to help :)
I haven't finished the video yet but just the Noise Suppression is going to be so helpful. My PC is on my desk and a fan close next to me in the warmer months. This is going to help me so much, thank you!
this did help with my audio issues, thank you. people have been complaining about my audio. much love
Glad I could help!
What issued did u have and what program did they happen on?
Also just using noise suppression option it has a RSAA option or whatever it says. It uses more CPU but it does AMAZING and you womt even have to use the other 2 filters
Yep, the higher quality version is great! I just wanted people to use the lower resource version and learn how the tools work :)
These worked really well. I didn't know anything about audio settings. I'm currently trying to rise my stream quality and these are good tips to raise it without buying any new gear :)
Glad I could help! I am really proud of this video particular so I love hearing that its helped people!
holy hell, this was mega useful for me! I was looking at trying to by a better microphone but you just saved me a-lot of money! Here's a like and a new sub!
Glad I could help! :)
Bro, I love you
Thank you so much i had this static in my headset for so long and it was really bad on stream but, the noise suppression got rid of it!
Glad I could help!
this was actually really helpful! I started streaming in march of 2021 and this really helped my mic sound better!
I can't even explain how much of a difference changing my Windows volume for my mic made. It was at 100% and lowering to 60% made it sound professional. Thanks mate.
Glad to hear it! It can be rough when you miss that one!
Im having low volume issues with my streams wonder if this is my problem
Why did no one but you cover that first setting!? Omg could have saved my so much frustration. Thanx a ton
Because people forget they’re making guides for beginners hahaha sometimes I still forget as well
Dude i love your content so soo much thanks for the tips and the Overly is insane.Ur doing gods work for small streamers, I'm gonna start to steam in a few months and your videos are helping so sooooo much
Good luck, Flick! I am just doing my best, nothing special!
Another great thing is that he still reply’s/hearts as many comments on each video even with over 200 comments
Yeah Out of the videos I’ve seen this is probably the most important one to have, outside of just setting up slobs or obs, just cause it changes the audio so much
@@connordziaba9630 Every single comment gets a reply! :)
Thank you so much for these kind of tips! It's a real help for small streamers around the world!
Happy to help!
Thank you for this. I had an issue where my chair squeaks but using these settings helped a lot!
Hey that’s great! Nobody really comments on this video so it’s good to hear this helped you! :D
this was SO INCREDIBLY HELPFUL. THANK Youuuuuuuuuuu.
THIS WAS AMAZING THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Everything you said was super informative
I learn new things about stream setup every day, and although I don’t have tons of followers or viewers at the moment (working on that), working toward being able to produce content properly is important to me, so thank you for putting all these videos together and sharing the information!
Glad it was helpful! I think this is my favourite video of all of them!
Watched plenty of your videos. I think they are excellent. Have now follow your channel in twitch. Extremely good stuff. 👍🏻
Much appreciated! Good luck!
