  • Bake for 45 mins in a 200 C or (180 C fan) or 400F. allow to cool for 15 mins or more before removing . rolling out wholemeal pastry is not possible , just press flat and press into dish with clean hands /fingers.

    Homity Pie is something I've not heard of 'til now. And I winder why, because this looks really good!

      +SmokeyGoodness Hey Dan , yes its very tasty , it was invented i think around wartime not sure which one , when foods were scarce , now its very hippy vegetarian , but still edible even for us carnivores now and then lol

    I love homity pie, there is a little cafe that sell their own and my word its good. Might give this a try at some point.

    I haven't checked yet, did you do a video for wholemeal pastry? Because that looks just marvelous!! I have everything to make, except the wholemeal pastry. As long as I can use cream, cheese, eggs and the like, I don't care if it's vegetarian!! Just wonderful!

      +Laurice's Kitchen Hi Laurice , no i didnt do a video for the wholemeal pastry , but its just any shortcrust pastry but using wholemeal flour, and i think i used lard as the fat , it was a while ago lol. wholemeal pastry tends to crack on rolling so its just a manhandling job to get it in the greased pan and press it out to fit. i think the pastry when cooked needs to be firm robust and have some substance about it , the filling is doubly yum , please give it a go , would love to know how you get on .
