I'm Irish. I've been making this same recipe here in Baile Atha Cliath for more years than I care to remember. Always turns out lovely. It works for me at 160 degrees Fan Oven for 50 mins.

I have to make this for my dad and mom and husband! And the great part is that it’s kid friendly! My daughter loves to bake but is still very young!
I LOVE your butter to bread ratio! I adore Irish butter!! Best butter in the world!
    Greetings from America!!

Now that is the very definition of quick bread. I can't believe you can just dump it all in and mix for a minute or two and that's it. Loved the bread pan liner blooper.

Gonna bake this today, I feel I can always trust a cook wearing his shirt inside out. This is hopefully gonna be good!

Make a nice cake -- However, I followed this recipe to the letter. It did NOT cook within the one hour stated. Oven was preheated to given temp' it took hour & half. But was still very nice. I covered the top with foil at 45 mins' to stop burning.

I had to chuckle at your little "oops" moment. (: That loaf looks tasty, Dave. Probably gets even better after a day or so...if it lasts that long! (:
