Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Kara is actually one of the bravest women I’ve ever seen. In Bangladesh, a country where there is lots of violence against women, she’s surrounded by a crowd of men just staring at her and she manages to make jokes and conversation and even high fives the crowd. Always admired Kara, lucky man Nate! ❤️
Yes, I was thinking the same !!!
Kara is very brave, but I also hope someone else is keeping eye on her with all the men around her. 🙏🙏🙏
-- May God keep her safe ! 🙏
Pure joy in such unexpected places! Love at the end when Kara said “be nice” to the little boys following! So sweet!
So refreshing to see not a single person walking while staring at their phone screens. The human interaction is so rare in the west!

Never in a million years i wouldve expected to see the name of my country (Argentina) written on a wall in Bangladesh
FYI: It's so common in Bangladesh...visit Bangladesh & you'll find your country flag even in remote villages. Because there's so many fan base & clash between Argentina & Brazil....!! sometimes fight also happen between two supporters.
during world cup, the whole country is divided into two teams: Argentina and brazil. People paint their whole building with either argentina or brazil flag.
During world cup...Argentinas Flag is seen every, means every where(based on fan)...up,right,left,here,there,everywhere...world cup crazyness over every corner of our country...
You should have come in 2018 world cup season....i had two flags in my room... One is bangladeshi and the other one is argentine...lmao
Pretty common out here. You'll notice the Brazilian flag right on the other side.
I realize what’s wrong with me and why you are the perfect travelers. Where I see overcrowding and filth, you see wonderful people and beauty.
Diane E same here
Yes, same. The overcrowding gives me anxiety...
Same. I'd be worried about disease and touching things. It's common to know people just poop on the side of roads there.
I love their constantly positive perspective! Places like this would be such a sensory over load for me and so much social anxiety!!
Beacause of that...sometime you feel your wife not beatiful than others you feel always bore for your wife that time you look out and see other couple are more happy than you like same way in overcrowded place dirty things all are you feel anxiety but someone like these very much than you
it makes my heart so happy to see Kara being so friendly! love you guys

Someone who lives in North America who is bengali, visiting Bangladesh about 3 years ago was such a beautiful experience of my life. It was soo culturally different than where I grew up in and culturally brought up in. Everyone was so friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. I've learned how the poor treat everyone equally whereas, the rich people treat the poor people like shit. It's sad but you see the people and the way they live. They're soo happy and are super grateful with what they have over there but whereas, people who are in North America tend to be unhappy with what they've got. I would love to go back and visit again one day, hopefully after covid eases down. It was such a remarkable place. Even though I was there for only 2 weeks, I absolutely loved every bit of it. I got to ride in a CGI and on a rickshaw. I went to the mall in Dhaka and it was massive!
The administrative Dhaka District was first established in 1772, but the existence of urbanised settlements in the area that is now Dhaka city - dates from the 7th century. The present day Savar was the capital of the Sanbagh Kingdom during seventh and eighth century. The city area of Dhaka was ruled by the Buddhist kingdom of Kamarupa and the Pala Empire before passing to the control of the Hindu Sena dynasty in the 9th century. Many believe that the name of the city was derived after the establishment of the Goddess Dhakeshwari's temple by Ballal Sena in the 12th century. Dhaka and its surrounding area was identified as Bengalla around that period. The town itself consisted of a few market centres like Lakshmi Bazar, Shankhari Bazar, Tanti Bazar, Patuatuli, Kumartuli, Bania Nagar and Goal Nagar. After the Sena dynasty, Dhaka was successively ruled by the Turkish and Afghan governors descending from the Delhi Sultanate before the arrival of the Mughals in 1608.
I have just started following you and have been binge watching your blogs right from the beginning. I am from Dhaka and I can't believe you have chosen to visit Bangladesh. The Old Dhaka you saw today is seldom visited by foreigners as they prefer to stay in the more affluent parts of town, but the way you've presented the beatiful chaos of this city is commendable! If you are back in Dhaka please try the Haji Biriyani. You won't be disappointed!
Total misrepresentation of Dhaka and Bangladesh. That Mamun is no tourist guide. He should be reported to the authorities.
@@BAlif-fh4mq Maybe he is giving them exactly what they requested. Not everyone wants the pretty tourist sights. Many of us want more authentic local experiences. That sunset place on an unfinished building is a perfect example, exactly what I would have wanted. Did you see how many other tourists were in the video? Zero. Some of us crave that experience and it's an incredibly rare thing these days. More Asian tour guides need to learn this is what we want.
Dhaka looks incredible! I am visiting next month and cannot wait to explore!

I need to process my emotions and why this was uncomfortable for me to watch. Thank you for bringing my comfort and acceptance level to light. I now will do the work to figure out what made me uncomfortable. Merry Christmas
Are you an introvert? I am and I don't like such crazy crowds. It's like being at Disney World in the summer. Also, I don't see it safe for women.
Following your Instagram page tease is just enough to then blow us away when the UA-cam episode premieres, never disappointing. Wow wow wow incredible markets!!! Awesome. Brilliant share :)
Best wishes, James and Kim
