It is the opposite of that and I show how to do that I one of my two how to crochet for beginners videos, but basically you will start a single crochet in one stitch leaving both loops on the hook, then start a single crochet in the next stitch leaving both loops on the hook then yarn over and bring both loops together in 1 2 single crochet together ☮️💙🎶 hope that Helps!

You are not supposed to be flipping the ball around at all. There are videos on my channel that show how to work in rounds, sl st and do everything you need to do to work this ball ☺️☮️💙🎶
I made a little ball for my cats because they love cat toys. But it turned more in to an oval than anything else(that was a mistake on my pregnancy brain and stubbornness) 😅 Still had a lot of fun making this, though. Thank you for the great tutorial!!

Just made one for my granddaughter and loved your video! I made another one watching someone else, but your instructions are much easier! Thanks for taking it slow too!
Thanks so much for this! This was the first video to reteach myself how to crochet, and by looking at all of the linked videos to make sure I'm doing it right, turns out I only knew how to slip stitch my whole life! So thanks a ton for this! Do you happen to have a written pattern for this? I got lost somewhere around the second tube part and didn't know how to keep the pattern going for the row.
Awww thankyou for this video! I've been struggling on crocheting balls but thanks to you I can finally give a toy ball to my small dog! She really loves it ty for this tutorial!! uwu
Thank you for this video! I was wondering if this works for cylinders too if you just keep doing single crochets? It probably does, but I'm just making sure
Thank you for this! I was able to follow along very easily. I do have a question though. Around 5:22 you indicate if we want the circle to be wider then to continue the sc/flat circle alternating pattern. Since your last flat circle row, you did 3 sc then 2 sc in the next stitch, would the next flat circle be 4 sc then 2 sc in the next (and then 5 sc then 2sc in the next) ? I hope that makes sense.
Thank you! Yes I did watch it but I was a little confused how to mix the 2 together! I’ve never made an amigurumi ball so I was struggling a bit because I needed mine a little bigger. Just curious because this is new and because I’ve seen other patterns that are different, why do you sc in between?
You want individual sc In between the sts with two sc in the same st to make it so that you do not increase to fast or to slow. It makes it so it gradually gets bigger in a round way instead of being completely flat or to wavy ☮️💙🎶
not of round three, but increasing in the number of stitches in between your two single crochets in the same stitch on every round until you are ready to make the ball round ☮️💙🎶
sooo this was the very first project i decided to crochet, and i failed miserably, but now im a more advanced beginner so im gonna try making this again!
Hi, thank you for this video! I’ve found it very easy to follow along with, however mine’s coming out all wibbly wobbly. So like it’s flat but the edges are all frilly instead of it gradually bowing like yours. I started again and the same thing happened. I’ve been counting my stitches and stuff to make sure I don’t do too many in each row and it’s still happening. Is this normal? Thank you
It does sound a little weird with the way you are describing it. Are you increasing the amount of individual single crochet in between the stitches with two single crochets in it on every round?
The Craft Nut sorry, I’m a visual learner and I’m British so I don’t understand your terminology. But I’m doing what you did - I started with 8 in the magic circle and then I did two into each of those to make it 16, then two into each of those making it 32, and then I did one into each of those to start curving it (so it’s still 32) and then continued on with every stitch going “two into each, one into each, two into each, one into each”. Sometimes it doesn’t quite line up with where I started either and I find that there’s a massive gap even though I counted and I don’t know how to close it up
You are adding too many stitches in the third round. The first round is the round with 8 single crochets around the magic circle. The second round is when you work 2 single crochets into each stitch all the way around. And on the third round you do not want to work 2 single crochets in each stitch all the way around, you will want to do it the same way I did by working 1 single crochet into the first stitch and two single crochet into the next, then 1 single crochet in the next stitch and 2 single crochet in the nexts day repeating that all the way around so that you are increasing by 8 and not 16. If you add too many stitches that is what makes it ruffle on the edges. This is also explained in my flat circle video like I say in the beginning of this video. If you want to Continue to make the ball bigger you will want to continue in a flat circle for a little longer which your fourth round would be, work 1 single crochet in the first 2 stitches and then work 2 single crochets in the next stitch, then 1 single crochet in the next 2 stitches and 2 single crochet in the next stitch and do that all the way around. And you will want to continue to increase the amount of individual single crochets in between your stitches with 2 single crochets in one stitch on every round until you have the width for your ball that you would like. When you got your ball the width you would like then work a few rounds with 1 single crochet in each st all the way around to round it and then decrease the same way you increased. Hopefully that made a little more sense and helps! If not let me know and I will help in any way I can! ☮️💙🎶
I freaking love you! Can I say that lol? My little sister wants me to make her a blueberry for her birthday. I’ve only made baby blankets before and couldn’t find a UA-cam video for a large blueberry. Thank you so much for posting this!
@@TheCraftNut Hi! I have a question. So, I’ve been following your steps. I’m making a large sized ball so I can make a blueberry. For some reason, my ball isn’t bowing. Do you have any idea why this might be the case? It’s just flat. I’m using crushed velvet yarn for reference. Thank you!
Hi! I wanted to ask: for the third increase (and decrease), where you stictched twice into the same stitch before stitching once into the next two stitches, why did you start by doubling it when in other increase rounds, you did it once per stitch before doubling? Does it make a difference with how the end product will turn out?
Yes, and I do explain this in the video but how much you increase effects how big the ball is. The wider out your increase the bigger your ball will be. I hope that helps! ☮️💙🎶
@@TheCraftNut ah thank you! however I do need to clarify: I just understand the pattern of the increase. for example, in the second increase, you stitch once before increasing the stitch. in the next increase however, you increase before stitching once into the next two stitches. I wanted to know if the order would affect that and if it's possible if I consistently finish my singular stitches before doing the increase
The reason for doing that is so that it continues to look like a circle. If you consistently do the single crochets before increasing or decreasing it will look like there are corners where you are increasing ☮️💙🎶
I was hoping you can clarify for me, when you finish going around the circle and you slip stich to finish off the entire circle, do you slip stich into the first single crochet or into the first chain you created to start off your next row?
It is explained a little in the video but you will want to make a smaller circle to begin with. So as you are increasing you will only want to get to 3 or 4 single crochets between the stitches that have 2 single crochets in the same stitch. And then do a round of 1 single crochet in every stitch before decreasing the same way you increased. The smaller the ball you want the less stitches you want to do before decreasing again. Hopefully that made sense 💙☮️💙🎶
I tried making one of these before I found this tutorial. I failed but I somehow made it into a mini sombrero

Hi! Can anyone help me? I'm kind of confused on 2:38 because she is saying to do a double crochet, but she's doing a single crochet. I'm lost :
They are all single crochet in this video 💙☮️💙🎶
@@TheCraftNut Thank you so much!
I'm going to make dolls of this and this helped with the head.
Love that! I do have a crochet doll pattern on my channel if you want to check that out as well ☺️☮️💙🎶
what do you put in it to make is like stand up?
Not quite sure what you mean. When it’s done you stuff it with filling ☮️💙🎶
Still trying to get the hang outta crocheting but this worked very well ,thank you!
so glad! thank YOU! 🙏☮️🤍🎶
Took me a couple hours but I got it! Thank you!
Ooh thx!! I put eyes on mine and it looks adorable!!
I'm so happy I found this Video - Thank you for showing it's easy!
What size crochet needle did you use. Also what weight yarn?
sooo this was the very first project i decided to crochet, and i failed miserably, but now im a more advanced beginner so im gonna try making this again!
you got this!
@@TheCraftNut thanks :D
Haha absolutely!! I am so glad it helped you!! Yay!! Happy birthday to your little sister!! 😊😊☮️💙🎶
Thank you!
@@ellad6849 have you worked any rows with only 1 single crochet in each st all the way around yet?
@@TheCraftNut I have. I don’t know why it’s doing this. :(
@@TheCraftNut ahh... that's very helpful! So, if i make my sphere bigger and do more increases, I should alternate the order for every increase round?
Yes if you do not want it to look like it has corners ☮️💙🎶
I keep learning more and more from you from your vids thank you so much :)
I love that! I am so glad! Thank you! ☺️☮️💙🎶
I was hoping you can clarify for me, when you finish going around the circle and you slip stich to finish off the entire circle, do you slip stich into the first single crochet or into the first chain you created to start off your next row?
Do you continue to slip stitch and chain 1 between each row on the second half of the ball also? My balls keep turning out shaped like an acorn. 😅
Yes you do ☺️
Awesome new to crochet and was brought a CORONAVIRUS BUG KIT so thought i would watchyou first
thank you i needed to learn how to do a ball for a head project iw as doing for a baby blanket and it helped out tyvm
Glad it helped!
What would you do differently to make a smaller sphere?
It is explained a little in the video but you will want to make a smaller circle to begin with. So as you are increasing you will only want to get to 3 or 4 single crochets between the stitches that have 2 single crochets in the same stitch. And then do a round of 1 single crochet in every stitch before decreasing the same way you increased. The smaller the ball you want the less stitches you want to do before decreasing again. Hopefully that made sense 💙☮️💙🎶
@@TheCraftNut Ok thanks!
please this is so cuteee
🙏🙏☮️💙🎶
Hello, what type of yarn did you use?
This is just a #4 medium weight yarn
