In a recent interview for a random channel at the Thomman Gearhead University, both Tim and Scott said that TMH was more like an experiment for what they were developing, so they lowered down the bass and drum in the mix and replaced some sections with electronic drums/trap beats and used 808’s instead of Gober’s bass. But with NLND I think that they were more confident about doing the same using real instruments, so that makes me think they’re always moving forward as a WHOLE, you feel me?. But that’s only my opinion, dude

My son announced he was going to learn this song when he’d only been playing guitar for a couple of months and I was like, no chance. A month later he was playing it to me in his bedroom. Impressive stuff.
Don’t ever let him give up playing. I’ve been playing for just over 17 years and it took me a VERY long time to learn this. anybody who can pick up the guitar and then within a few months play this, is somebody with a true gift

I love the open room sound. 14 years ago I played at Roseville theater (a little piece of shit) but it was so much bigger than the garages and basements I was used to playing in. I fell in love with it.

i am a 46 yo tragic music addict. A very intelligent guy named Eric Weinstein (look him up) guided me to this song, so i had to have a listen. For the first time probably since i heard the band infectious grooves, my landscape of musical possibilities was exponentially grown. Incredible. It is like classical x jazz x blues x funk x rock x alternative. Just an absolutely beautiful composition. Then i watched the live soundcheck version, and without doubt my understanding of the limits of live music was blown away.

The actual hustle of having to convince people in charge to let you play heavy music (with often times strong language) in a church must be collosal. Perhaps building live-music halls like that in the first place?

I think I understand what you mean, at the same time the reason why churches/cathedrals exist is exactly because of religion. Is it possible that many times religious institutions have supported the elevation of the arts to their highest level? Their architectural splendor and amazing acoustics we're deliberate choices after all. It was designed precisely to bring people to a point to acknowledge the "otherworldly".
Religion or not, I believe its perfectly fine. I'm a catholic, I consider myself to be fairly devout as well. There isn't anything wrong with this so long as the cathedral is defunct and no longer has anything in it. No relics or anything and the altar is gone. Then I agree its totally fine, more than fine, I love the acoustics.
Will never forget seeing these guys with my bestfriend, absolutely fucking hammered drunk just having the best time of our lives. I remember when they played Goose we both screamed "THE POPO THINK ITS WATER PLAYBOY BUT ITS MUH FUGGIN GREY GOOSE BABBBBYYY" Hahahaha, one of the best live experiences I have ever had. I'm pretty sure Tim is very much influenced by hiphop/rap which is rad honestly. Works well for their style
He drew inspiration from rap at least with those triplets in the beginning. He has a video explaining how he came up with it somewhere on youtube.

More heavy music needs to be played in churches. This has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with the otherworldly acoustics.
The actual hustle of having to convince people in charge to let you play heavy music (with often times strong language) in a church must be collosal. Perhaps building live-music halls like that in the first place?
This is a converted venue. And it’s in the uk so people are a bit more easy going. With that sort of stuff anyways.

Their architectural splendor and amazing acoustics we're deliberate choices after all. It was designed precisely to bring people to a point to acknowledge the "otherworldly".
Religion or not, I believe its perfectly fine. I'm a catholic, I consider myself to be fairly devout as well. There isn't anything wrong with this so long as the cathedral is defunct and no longer has anything in it. No relics or anything and the altar is gone. Then I agree its totally fine, more than fine, I love the acoustics.

Will never forget seeing these guys with my bestfriend, absolutely fucking hammered drunk just having the best time of our lives. I remember when they played Goose we both screamed "THE POPO THINK ITS WATER PLAYBOY BUT ITS MUH FUGGIN GREY GOOSE BABBBBYYY" Hahahaha, one of the best live experiences I have ever had.
