A lot of this just makes sense.
creating different melodies on an instrument playing over some of your favorite tunes allows you to just free form and come up with things you otherwise never would have thought of just by using a blank canvas/riff.
this was really cool.
Awesome video! Love your band's style and your songwriting.
mdrr
I basically say WTFFFFFFFF constantly as I watch your videos. Genius writing, and super-well explained thought process to get there -- endlessly fascinating.
how have i gone this long and not stumbled on your videos. man, def my new fav band. epic.
“El Tomás Henriquez can’t hurt you, El Tomás Henriquez doesn’t exist” El Tomás Henriquez: 0:06

This is a gold mine for young musicians and artists, thank you Tim!
I think every track I've made has had an instance of "wait I cut this wrong...wait it sounds better??" The best feeling ever.
Tim is such a genius! Amazing that he shares his process with us. Gotta love Polyphia
Tim you are the GOAT for deconstructing your process. We don't get that from many big artists nowdays
I want an alternate version of GOAT that is just the triplet rhythm experiment that Tim had at 4:33
He plays something very similar to that part during clays bass solo
This video is enlightening. Very interesting the cross-over with rap.Thank you for sharing it!
My brain is broken with how you made this. I've been playing music forever. (Haven't uploaded anything since actually "getting good" lol) Wrote a lotta songs in a lotta ways. This is something I would have never even thought of.
You are brilliant.
Just brilliant.
MY ALL NIGHTER FOR HOMEWORK HAS BEEN REWARDED!!!!
You deserve it
great job champ. keep it up
Good job mate
well done!
King moments
You‘re a good person, rare these days. Much love and respect!
Thanks Tim. You have really thrown the proverbial guitar book out the window, and dragged the ever aging six string instrument into a new dimension, as you make new sounds with it. Your ands are all over the fretboard on this one, and it sounds really great. I really don't like the term 'guitar hero' as music is a highly subjective thing, but I am sure that your group's music will always be remembered for the eons that follow.
Fantastic, dude!! 🙌🏽 what a gem. Love your process
Absolutely amazing to see the actual thought process from start to finish.
I knew I heard the Scott riff in Playing God from somewhere
SO much respect for this legend. Really appreciate sharing the knowledge/creative process.
I don’t even play music as much as I love it. You’re a brilliant musician and I’ve been jamming your tunes for a few years now and they never get old. Thanks for your creations
