For those who are wondering, the asian lady on the left side with the earrings is Tim's mother ♥️ Edit: they even have matching black and gold outfits😄
YES, one of the reason why their songs sound so great is cuz of how damn solid the rhythm parts are by the drums and bass. Obviously the guitar sounds great tgt with them.
@Jason Kim quantizing is a function for equalizing midi-recorded files. but you can edit timing on live guitar audio recordings by splitting/shortening/elongating/time-stretching or just recording each section of a song over and over until its perfect. so technically you cant use a (quantize function) but guitar is easily (edited) to have the same effect quantizing would have on midi files.
@Jason Kim I can say pretty confidently that there is some timing assistance of some sort happening on most guitar recording these days, even if it's not a normal quantizing.
Truly unique music. What I really envy about Scott and Tim is that they must have hooked up as musicians and friends and played together so much and had so much time for one another's music because what they play is complex, intertwined, syncopated and mutually-supportive. I had enough trouble in my senior years just finding other musicians playing guitar at all.
There’s something about the tone and amount of precise technique involved with the riffs in this song that if it isn’t EXACTLY replicated, it just doesn’t sound good. I feel like their older songs that had more emotive single note melodies with vibrato and articulations translated better live. They had much less room for error
Say what you will about the quality of their set-up, but there's something deeply visually satisfying about seeing two guitarists play this riff at the same time.
This song is fantastic and technically challenging But Not having the bass/drums live Whatever settings the amp was set to And some mistakes Killed the song for a lot of people I don’t think they should be hated on for it But it seems that a lot of people here in this comment section felt the need to be toxic about it
