You know that Steve said that to Neal after SP had hurt his hip and Neal wanted to tour. Call it something else, he said, just don't call it Journey. I love the Perry led era. This was great too but songs like Lovin Touchin Sgueezin Separate ways , any way you want are the best. Perry was just magigal once they broke away from Rolie/Perry duo. Rolie was kind of holding Perry back.
@@quincylogan5922 sad but true he should have continued to write from them as a ghost writer.
The best journey ever was end of story , no other album or period of this band sounds this way , I get goosebumps!! Greg Rollie was so so so so good !! My favorite journey album and this is my favorite track ! This is journey ! Wow .....Miss those days
One of the best segues between two songs in rock!! Tight harmonics, what talent!
Neil's fro/mustache gave him extra mojo.
Damn they sound really......really good here!!
Journey's best sound hands down.
This song was my ‘Exhibit A’ in every “Who’s got the best rock voice?” discussions/arguments growing up. This was the best era of Journey by far IMO. The Rollie/Perry harmony was phenomenal.
definitely my favorite line-up of JourneY right here
I was lucky enough to see Journey twice in 1981, here in Detroit, spring and fall of that year! The shows were awesome, love me some Journey! ❤❤
Cobo Arena?
UNFORGETTABLE PERFORMANCE!!! I'd say there most iconic performance! Steve Perry is the man! The greatest male singer ever in my opinion! Truly worthy of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
2 great singers on one band.Harmonies of the entire band, fantastic!
One word........W O W !
Perry was truly a vocal god. Him and Steve Walsh were incredible.
This is the one and only song that I love that Steve Perry and Greg Rolie sang together. Outstanding performance!!!♊❤💋🎵✌
which one, they sing two here
I forgot this song!!! I grew up in the 70’s…the best decade of music!!! 🍻☮️
Great vocal harmonies and NO autotune. This is goodness which cannot be faked.
Greg Rollie was awesome . I landed in Germany and they were very popular there. I fell in love to with Escape playing and all the other Journey tunes playing in her car as we both cruised everywhere.
It was great to be young at that time. Twelve when I first heard Journey on the radio. One of my favorite songs with Greg and Steve singing together. Total magic.
Now that's the journey l love oh and that voice.....😮 wow!! Words can't express it enough. I miss you, Steve!!
Greg held it down & Steve was the gas pedal, great duo. I really love Infinity. It was teamwork
Ally Dry INFINITY &... EVOLUTION r TIMELESS! the band went uh tad more COMMERCIAL! from DEPARTURE! onward.
Not only is Greg Rolie a world class musician, he's also handsome as hell! too handsome for his own good lol
The greatest thing about the Super 70s was, ALL of these legendary bands were in their prime, still looking young, not forgetting the lyrics or being 50 pounds over weight! We were in the SWEET SPOT!
Its summertime for me when hearing this. Graduated in 82 so yeah ✌
Didn't know what the hell we had back then. My kids are actually upset that i lived through this time and only have 2 concerts under my belt. 💜
Wowww .....only 2 concerts ever? ? lol I graduated in 81 .....I'm well over 400 now lol....& I've saved every ticket stub from all the concerts over the years .....growing up here in the bay area I went to see Journey 14 times 🤙This is the very best Journey lineup ever!
Same here. Laporte HS class of 82. Escape out summer of our junior year. My gf pulled up in her Camaro listening to who's crying now. She's so beautiful. I never stood a chance with Steve Perry in the picture 😅
1983, no idea how many concerts. Kept the stubs and always bought a shirt
Class of 1984 and a lot of concerts including Journey on the Escape tour.
Class of 82, great tunes back then
There will never ever be someone As good as Steve Perry! Extraordinary singer!
He's a great vocalist, but MANY great ones.....
OMG u guys, don't u love this?? I've been a Journey/Steve Perry for 40 years, this is music people! Love it! Damn!
Their two best songs. So underrated compared to their other material that's overplayed.
I 100 percent agree....
Agreed. Every time I hear "Any Way You Want It" I think of FordMercruy dealerships.
@@brettmeyer3321 I think of Caddyshack and Rodney Dangerfield's massive golf bag with the cassette player in it.
Shut up you f****** connoisseurs and love the music
WOW.....Perry is so on fire. Amazing, glorious voice.
He was good part of the band.
Perry was always on fire!!
Second verse harmony by SP is just beautiful. Yes, they’re both amazing vocalists.
Steve Perry is AWESOME in this song. Miss him performing.😉
My favorite Journey songs. Can’t get enough..❤️
I sure do miss the 70s. Loving the clothes.
Jennifer Albee I was about to post the exact same! I love dthe 70's, the music, the hair!
And the music 🎶🎶
What’s up with s Neil’s pants. Look like short overalls.
My very first time of seeing this amazing band! With Steve and Gregg! It was just...well. I almost fell out of my wheelchair! I was 19 at the time! Time flies! I do adore this man!! (Steve Perry, I mean! I've always loved Gregg, too, though!
One of my top 10 favorite albums.. you need to listen to it with headphones, the stereo effects are awesome...
It was the 70's man.
& Im glad I was there !! ✌🏽🎵
One well put together tune . Words with meaning and two singers in sink and a guitarists! HAS THE MAKING OF ONE HELL OF A SONG !! WOW!!!!!
Yeah 70’s!!! Will never be any year better ❤
Great live performance! I saw Journey live around 1978-79. There was so many good bands back then and I didn't appreciate just how good they were. I'm 62 years old now. It seems like rock music barely exists anymore.
I. know. Nick,. These. guy's. we're. fucking. awesome,. and. the. lead. guitar, had. to. be. one. of. best. of. the. time,. If. not. the. best.
Same
What an amazing group of talented musicians. These guys were great !
Neil's Hair kicked ass!!! Imagine going out in public dressed like that..Gotta love the 70's!!!
You had to be bringin it!
Wow I was just thinking that my self. I knew I lot of bro back then who wished they had a fro like that. And yes im black ! But still listening to them to this day. 6 -25-22 at 5pm from Hagerstown Md. Keep jamming!
@@rickjohnson8707 Awesome!!😂❤️
I grew up on these songs. I had the Journey Escape longsleeve shirt in 4th grade and loved it! I took it for granted we didn’t know how good we had it in the 70’s. No politicians, No 24 hours news stations, Just golden summers, Great music , Beaches and amusement parks everywhere.
Great time growing up
1978 what a year ❤
Totally agree! Greg and Steve....the best mix up. Complimented each other.
This IS JOURNEY!! Gregg Rollie and Steve Perry in perfect blending and complimenting each others voices....along with Neil and Roy...there will NEVER be another as this groupwas for those years..instead of trying to replace Steve Perry who is his own legend and "VOICE" they should just move on to the next chapter..and probably rename themselves...actually shouldve renamed themselves after Steve left..ROCK ON!! JOURNEY
Should have renamed the band when Gregg Rolie left, he was Journey.
'Roy'?
You know that Steve said that to Neal after SP had hurt his hip and Neal wanted to tour. Call it something else, he said, just don't call it Journey. If Neal heeded Steve's request, they might have lasted a lot longer together. That is a huge reason that Steve didn't want to go back. That and the amount of touring Neal wanted to do just racked Steve's voice night after night.
I used to love Sunday morning because the American Top 40 with Kasey Kasum was on the Radio, Such Awesome times to be a kid
Steves voice is so good at this time....
