Take a note kids. This is how they did it back in the day. Now days you hear about artists/groups saying they spent a year (or more) in the studio for a song or album that only has 10 words and uses computer generated "instruments". These guys go into a studio for a week to a month and put out music that is golden,,, with real instruments.
Those guys were so hot and prolific back then they had to keep putting out double albums to accommodate the amount of material. Chicago II and III were doubles, Chicago IV, Live @ Carnegie Hall was a 4 record set, and Chicago VII was a double. I think song-for-song, Chicago V was their creative peak. The song in this video, Feeling Stronger Every Day is from Chicago VI. Though they've have some bright moments over the years, I lost interest after Terry Kath went in 1978. I was buying their records as they came out and learned to play bass listening to them and Blood, Sweat & Tears. That was pop music back then. I remember going to high school dances back then and the bands would have a horn section and play stuff like Make Me Smile or Color My World (and they were good!) That was normal back then.
Me! In 1968 I was a kid whose brother was in nam and my sisters were listening to them we had Hendrix blacklight posters on the wall of every (real ) band on the radio. What a time that was.

EVERYTHING about this screams the 70's, and I'm all about it!!
I know great music can be made by taking months in the studio and over-dubbing tracks a million times, but a band that can do THIS is in an elite category. No effects, no overdubbing, everyone playing and singing all the parts - just incredible. And not an easy song either! Amazing dynamics start to finish, just awesome on all fronts.
True!!!
It’s called talent, it’s in short supply in the industry now
@@cooldaddy232 Several of the guys studied music working towards MFAs or higher. The sax player was headed for the Chicago Symphony but left that track to form the band.
@@jimcameron2511How times change, if you get an education these days you're called a socialist.....
Bring tears to my eyes ! So many childhood memories!! My sisters used to play this song almost daily !! Love Chicago!!
Me too!
Being a Chicagoan born and raised, I sure adore Chicago's music. I remember every word.
Check out Leonid and Friends for amazing covers of Chicago
Hello how are you doing
You know you're tight when you can do a single take with the full band in the studio
Amen
Damn, I could listen to this forever. Chicago is at the height of their powers here. Grew up in Chicagoland and they will always be in my top three bands of all time! So happy I grew up in the '60s and '70s, when music was passionate and REAL.
These guys were so brilliant love the original Chicago RIP Terry you were great. Peter's voice is brilliant They sure belong in the RR hall of fame ❤
The change in tempo is genius.
This is one of the best "feel-good" songs ever.
True!!!!!
And then Peter Cetera became a Superstar...but Chicago is still touring and making Awesome music till this day !!2024 ....Mr Dilly... Likely !!👍🎸😎
In my teen years in the 70s CHICAGO was my favorite group all of their songs were great!
This band is legendary. Loved this music when I was a kid and still love it today.
Yes indeed!!!
Play this song for my little Grandson and he loves it. Classic songs nothing like them anymore.
Hello how are you doing
Take a note kids. This is how they did it back in the day. Now days you hear about artists/groups saying they spent a year (or more) in the studio for a song or album that only has 10 words and uses computer generated "instruments". These guys go into a studio for a week to a month and put out music that is golden,,, with real instruments.
Exactly - Chicago recorded the CTA double album in less than a week.
I remember going to high school dances back then and the bands would have a horn section and play stuff like Make Me Smile or Color My World (and they were good!) That was normal back then.
well truly said !
True ,todaycool the tudtuk music!?
Aranka Domonkosne I hate the Tuc Tuc music!!!!
Cetera’s voice is truly angelic! 😇
True!!!!
Me! In 1968 I was a kid whose brother was in nam and my sisters were listening to them we had Hendrix blacklight posters on the wall of every (real ) band on the radio. What a time that was.
Every time I see a video I've not seen, I'm impressed all over again.
Terry rips like no one else.
Oh lord. Does that take back to high school. I almost forgot how much I loved this band...
We sang….
Doing bong hits all day in college
What a band, miss you Terri
Great band reminds me the good old days 😌
who's listening in 2024?
Me❤
I am some of the greatest music that i've ever heard when I think all of the world is ever heard
Hi I am listening. My mix of songs brings back so many memories of when I was young. Now I am 60 years old and still enjoying the music from the 60's 70's and 80's. ❤😊
I haven't stopped since the song first came out!
I'm listening on June 17, 2024 loving every minute of it🤎❤️
Amazing all the real talent right there
There is more talent in this one clip than all the music today combined.
Agree.
Truth!
You all might agree, but then that means your not listening to the right music or the right sources. There are many extremely talented artists today making music equally entertaining as anything Chicago produced.
Damn right it was 70's & 80's put out some damn good music, not this shit today that they call music
To be totally honest, you are right, but almost everyone (including most people on this comment section) overlook or never hear about these artist because the radio plays these horrible artist and many people are too lazy to look into other stuff or were raised on that music. If only these unknown bands were popular......
