Best male singer of all time. Am I right, am I right?
Und wie du recht hast 😉💖
Por supuesto !!!
💯
Yes, you are!
He's pretty fuckin great
For the love of God, running around like that for the whole show, and still hitting all those notes so effortlessly. I mean, just the best there ever was. I am so grateful that I saw them at their peak, for this tour and Frontiers. Epic shows, both.
I am extremely jealous...never got to see them in person
What a treat to have seen them live. I only knew them from the radio and records and so have been envious of west coast friends who had stories to tell of live performances.
On this song, I can hit about 80% of the vocal high notes but the upper few get me so frustrated that I usually stop trying for a while. Regardless, I would have to be having a 1 out of a 100,000 day to even come close, much less running around the whole stage and still doing it. There is only 1 Steve Perry!!
I know he's really good. What I don't get is how he's not even in the top 30 of the best singers of all time in rolling stones magazine.
Cocaine works wonders lol
Steve Perry is that rare singer whose live performances are just as good, if not better than the recorded version of any song. He voice was and still is unbelievable and unique. I can listen everyday and remain amazed.
He makes it look so effortless! Just a naturally gifted singer. Amazing.
@@justkeepingitreal2024 Steve and Freddie were on a completely different level to their contemporaries.
Have to add Lou Gramm to that list!!! Him and Steve Perry were born to be singers!!! Both had amazing voices, they had energy, they infused emotion into every note! Love watching both of them perform live!!! Just sorry I missed seeing them during my teen years!
Ya no canta mas asi de lindo perdio la voz ,te extraño S.P
Seen them 3 times in the 80s when tickets were 7.50 to 12.50$ each
This is what a singer looks like. For every dope that has ever used autotune, please recognize what greatness is.
Facts my favorite singer ever
Original comment, JohnBoy. 🙄 How's your onion belt treating you?
@@lemurianchick stop using auto tune tubby
Absolutely these are real singers not the fake singers of today with autotune voices. Any 80s artist could easily blow today's so called singer off the stage.
Well said my friend!
Undisputably THE best rock singer of all time. Whether you liked them or not....Perry can hit notes other singers only wish they could hit!
What a time. Steve and Freddie were in their prime at the same time. Sooo many good bands. 70’s-80’s is unmatched in music for me.
I’m 16 and I don’t think the people who were there seeing the show realise how amazingly lucky they were.
Yeah...
This was the first concert I ever saw as a freshman in High School. It is not lost on me how amazingly talented these guys were. Steve Perry is still to this day my favorite vocalist ever!
J P You're right. Seeing Journey live was a M I G H T Y experience, but only in looking back have I realized how truly great it was. But it's usually TOO easy to take golden moments for granted when you're in your early years. On the other hand, wisdom says that we should ALL take time to notice today's gold, and stop long enough to be thankful, because too soon those moments will be consigned to the past, too. Appreciate your comment, J P. ❤️
Woooww I wish all 16 year olds are like u. I'm 28 so this was also before my time but u and I were both in the wrong era
We knew we were lucky
When he hits the high note and holds it... holy cow don’t get to see that live anymore... damn he’s the best!
The voice!
@Cydnie Montgomery he's the male version of mariah carey.
amen!!!
Omg, AMEN!!! There aren't many with that amazing, SEXY ass vibrato that Steve Perry possessed...hell, that he still, at 70 years old, possesses!!
Patrick Larry DUDE, I WAS JUST GONNA SAY THE SAME THING LIKE WOW LOL!!! I LOVE STEVE PERRY AND MARIAH CAREY BOTH!!!
The 80 dislikes are from people who never experienced lovin', touchin', squeezin'...
Or have wax in their ears. Geez! My son is named after the man! So glad to have seen Frontiers tour and Raised on Radio tours. Live on the East Coast. I’ve been to all front man singers in concert. Over 20. Steve Perry . The GOAT!!!!!!
PREACH!!!!!!!!!! LOL
Sure!
Worse song ever by this group especially on the heels of 'Infinity'. I don't have wax in my ears either since I've followed Journey since their first album. This song is just bad and I can't believe to this day that Neal Schon wanted to and agreed to do this song.
@@gkirms Well you're entitled to your opinion but the majority disagrees with you including me. I think it's a great song!
Without doubt, Steve Perry has the most powerful voice with a broad dynamic range. What proof, just watch how he uses his chest, throat, and even his jaw to make the vibratos and hit those high’s without effort. Thanks Steve.
yup the training shows
this song is perfect.
Journey is perfect.
Steve is perfect.
Just this.
Well said
Was in 1979 when it came out fresh also
I bet attendees were high for days after this experience. Journey delivered the goods!!!
I saw them on thiis tour in NJ during the summer of '81, was so good got tickets for the Frontiers tour in '83.
THX 1138
I was at this show. At the Summit if I remember correctly and you are not very far off.
i was there! Htown! Texas summit 11- 12 - 81 mtv live! awesome show!
Steve Perry definitely delivered the goods😉😉💋💋🔥🔥😘😘. Steve really does have it all in my eyes.
I'm still in love with this man's voice.
Me too
Same here💞💞💞
Me too 😍😍
I'm still in love with this MAN!!!
(and his voice!)
Same... And I'm a millennial... But I will get over his voice
Very few people possess a voice like Steve Perry. He was just blessed with natural born talent and his voice is incredibly beautiful and filled with emotion. and passion. I love this live performance and every one in the band was on fire with so much energy and having fun playing their instruments. It's a joy to watch and listen to them and I will always love Steve Perry and Journey. They're the best of the best! ♥♥♥
Well said. I've loved Steve from day one and the band of course but his voice is like silk to me I will never stop listening to the ORIGINAL Journey ❤❤❤❤❤
Now that’s the epitome of a great rock band... doesn’t get better than this!
Running around and not missing a beat still able to hit those notes. Incredible vocals! No one can top Steve Perry!! ❤️
I swear I miss the 80s and the music so much. There is no music that even compares to this type of music. Especially Steve Perry's voice
I love Steve Perry's voice... and his nose! 😍😍
His profile is just adorable, he's too perfect. Everything about that boy.💛
His eyes, too! They're stunning!
Calm down ladies, hes mine all mine!!🤣🤣
Hahahhaha sexy nose !!
👃
The sign of a tremendous vocal talent, when they can draw you in from the first notes. Goosebumps.
Steve Perry at this time was one of rocks greatest vocalist! Legendary!
Journeys firing on all six here steve perry is not just an excellent singer but is a great front man
Garry Norris Agree. He's incredible!
All 8 honey! Nobody likes a six cylinder! Steve was/is amazing!
You get more horses out of an 8 cylinder. There's no replacement for displacement.
More like all 12
hes a god amongst mere mortals. this whole concert.
That is f-in' NUTS!! Good grief that is so dang good!! I saw them line at the Richfield Coliseum in 1981 and I could not be more happy to relive this!
kris stone I saw them live on their ESCAPE tour in 1981 also ! I can still remember how freaking excited I was till this day . I'll never forget this concert. I was in the 3rd row , my best friend and I. I had literally no voice for a week afterwards, from screaming so much! Have been to alot of other concerts since, but I was young and kinda in lust with Steve Perry !!! Lol
kris stone Same! My 1st concert was Escape in 1981. Its great we can relive these experiences on UA-cam!!
I was at that concert too, it was awesome!!!! The first time I saw them was at The Public Auditorium in downtown Cleveland in 1980!!!!!
Don D. Jackson y’all are lucky, this generation’s music doesn’t even touch the 80’s
So did my wife and I, best concert I’ve ever been to!!
Honey he’s still at his peak! Will be 74 2mrw the 22nd and is great health and vocals! He’s got the golden vocals God gave him!! Even now! You go my friend Steve!!❤️🎶🎤
Incredible performance from all of them!
Watching this, it just occurred to me that Steve Perry is like the American version of Freddie Mercury: unbelievable voice, charisma, energy, orchestrating the crowd, top front man!
And the rest of Journey, superb musicians and performers.
They created music that will last through the ages. Send them my love, from the '80s, 2019, and forever!
Steve is actually better. And I'm a fan of Queen.
3 years later. I deducted the same! Peace out!
I was thinking the same.
MR.PERRY IS STILL LOOKING GOOD AFTER ALL THESE YEARS! ! 💖💕
I find him absolutely adorable! The speaking voice and that laugh! Love it all💗💗💗💗💗
I love to hear Steve Perry laugh to. He,s had alot of unhappy things happen to him in his life. I think that when he is laughing at least in that moment in time he is happy . I wish that I could make Steve happy. And bring a smile to his handsome face. And his beautiful heart ❤️❤️.
Welcome back Steve, 30 years later!
Props to Steve Smith....amazing drummer. He could never really show all his chops with Journey, check out some of his side projects, especially Vital Information. The guy is incredible, one of the best.
Brilliant drummer!!!!
Steve Smith is the king.
love him... he drives all those Songs 🔥🙏💜
Always perfect for the song.
Man had mad skills musically.
Tasteful! He wouldn't just go out and bang as fast and hard as he could. But he could. Best of the best
Steve “The Machine Gun” Smith......😎👍🏻👍🏻
Still here in 2021. Old lady - 58. One tired nurse! I grew up on this music, and Journey was my favorite! Great "Escape" music for 2021!
58 ain’t old!
Anyone for Steve Perry's one-in-a-billion voice in 2024?
That voice!!! Those guitars!! That drummer..Gods gift to us...
I wonder if he still has that cheetah print blouse from the same concert to this day. That shirt was iconic
You know, I have wondered the same thing for decades!! Can anyone ask Steve on Instagram??
Saw this tour, and I was only 13 or so but I clearly remember the energy and the crowd...they sang every damn word as if trying to out sing Steve but he knew that, and boy did he ever blow us apart. What a gift to the world
I was mesmerized by Steve's pants. Wow!
Ouh la la ...
Yo también
Steve Perry is that rare singer who live performance is just as good as the recorded version of any song. He has such an unbelievable voice. Legendary vocalist! I can listen to him any day and just remain amazed with his vocals.
That time for music was magic. The anticipation for more would drive you crazy. Today, nothing compares to these stadium shows. There was always a concert the likes of these to go to. Journey was one of the bands that was responsible for creating big shows of this nature. I saw Journey live 3X, and it was amazing. I remember everyone knew and sang every song right with them. Loving, touching... would electrify the audience.
Hells, yeah. 💯🤩✨✨✨
Those vocals are untouched. Nobody can sing like steve did.
I just have one word ...IRREPLACEABLE 👏🏻
No artist today that could beat this. The energy is electric!
Love Journey. Wish I would have seen them live when I had the chance.
Oh, God me too.
I didn't consider myself a fan. Bought a ticket, then I was. Bought 6 more. Couldn't get enough of them live.
I saw Journey 3 times back in the day. I was completely blown away with Steve Perry! It was great!!
Und ist es heute noch 💖💖💖
I like it when people brag on 80s hair ,, Well he had it in the 70s 1st SO Steve has 70s hair ,,,Just like this song RELEASED IN 1979
@@theodoreritola7641 schau dir mal die Haare von Steve in den 90igern an, genau so lang waren meine Haare 😅
Such a shame there is sooo much drama in this band. Truly one of the finest of ALL time!
I miss this journey. All new members now. I just don't feel the excitement like I did back when these guys were together. But I do love Steve Perry's solo albums!
This is definitely Journey at their finest, wow and in Houston too!!!! Great live concert. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟
Hello dear, I really appreciate the love and support I get from you all
The greatest rock vocalist in music history right here folks...just mindblowing!
I was born in 81 holy shit!!! This is the real deal!!!!!!####
I was born in 1986. Fuck!!! :/
They had some beautiful harmony vocals!
To have all that energy on stage and still hit those high notes how amazing he is😊
It’s called- youth!!
Just hit 1 million views, love this song and Steve’s performance is everything. 24 years old and I listen Journey every single day 🪲
Can't believe there's a vocalist doing better live than studio!
Seen them the 1st time at 15 yrs old then again a couple years later. Will never forget that unbelieveable voice.
Time has shown how great this band was.....still is and can be!
Who out there is familiar with the old saying that dynamite comes in small packages?!
Depends which dynamite you mean in what package!
-looks down at Ronnie James Dio, Ellis and Mendel-
I think you’ve got a point there.
I see whatchu mean there😉
I blast this in the car windows down. I drive a tuner, but still no shame. Steve Perry is the G.O.A.T. I drive with this up louder than the car
Lots of love here for Steve's voice and Neal's guitar - but how about some love for the rock-solid blues shuffle holding it altogether courtesy of Ross Valory's bass and Steve Smith's drumming! You could build a freaking skyscraper on that foundation - wow!!
Love watching Steve perform! And his air guitar! The cutest😘
One of the best live vocalists ever.
I've always loved Journey. This is a great performance and Steve Perry was the absolute best. I loved his voice, but I just have to add that the man SURE knew how to wear a pair of jeans. ;-) absolutely awesome all the way around. I still love Steve.
100% agree, oh those jeans...
Gene's and jeans
Me too 😊 but ladies what are thinking and saying?😉😉💞👍👍
🔥🔥🥰🥰LOL. I just love you Steve Perry.💋💋❤️❤️
Love that shirt, but ooooh those tight jeans😍
Fun fact, they always kept an extra pair of socks on them. lol.
There is just no other band that can sound like Journey. And Steve Perry, well no words needed here. He is the best.
Especially during this version, Cain, Ross, and Schon backed Perry up perfectly to where none of them over powered another and it came to be a perfect blend of their voices. I also think they dont get enough credit due to Perry having that one of a kind voice that led Journey
Still listening in 2020! Steve had such a God given voice!
I was born in 1947 so when these guys hit it big I was raising a family. Just heard them closely 4 years ago. Just fantastic. Steve Perry is the best singer in a long time.
I'm a Filipino and forever be a fan of this band. I'm so in love to Steve Perry's voice 😍
Neil Schom is definitely underrated as a guitar player.
so damn good and consistant, never heard him mess up. a natural
@@1brennan Jimmy Page is a rather overrated guitarist compared to Neal Schön.
I thought I was the only one who thought this
@@EuphoriaPiana Page and Hendrix are and were good but my all time favorite is David Gilmour. A true master of his craft. I'm a dyed in the wool Pink Floyd fan but I'd probably still like Gilmour, maybe not as much but his abilities cannot be denied.
@@danielstewart7163 Another one (although in different genres of music) is Rory Gallagher, who could sing and play well at the same time. Moreover, Neal Schön was left-handed and could play right-handed guitar even BETTER than Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, yet the elder, latter one gets ALL of the accolades for his just-above-average playing. But you can rest assured that all of the credit that Jimmy Page is getting is unmerited, not to mention that it has NOTHING whatsoever to do with talent, as usual. The VERY same thing applies to John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, who was a rather predictable drummer... I have seen MUCH better drummers than the likes of him; but hey, what do I know? Life never HAS been fair, sad to say. 😤🙄😔
I love Steve Perry! Best vocalist ever. Irreplaceable.
Freddie Mercury...
I disagree. Yoko Ono is way better.
😂😂😂😂😂😂that's too funny.
If Jesus, The Christ, wanted to sing, he would use Steve Perry's voice to do it, because he invented it. He created it to be indelible, and imbued it with a perfect phenomenologically charismatically incontrovertible sound.
Freddie!!
What can I say? The most amazing singer of all time and the band.....just Goosebumps...!
These guys are tight!!!!!!! I will love these guys as long as I live!!!!!
Still listening in 2019
Luv Steve Perry!
This is live singing! Wtf! He is amazing!!!!
Was he on speed? So much energy wow 🤩 Best vocals ever!! Journey lives on!!! Love Steve Perry ❤️❤️❤️
Hello dear, I really appreciate the love and support I get from you all
One of the most young-heart wrenching songs of all ages!
My very fav song of his. It is just written perfectly.
Steve is the best, love him so much! Journey rocks on
Best live version of this song.
OMG...Seve Perry's..i still in love with him💋
Rochelle Hegedus toss his salad?
Dude's hot. Straight up.
he’s truly the only man that can sing this masterpiece of a song/ his song hence why he’s the only man that can sing it
Favorite Journey song HANDS DOWN
Historic performance! Greatest concert ever!!
who ends a song with 154 "na"s??? 7 verses of 22 "na"s. Yeah, Journey does, that's who. frikkin' brilliant
Or as Pat Monahan said "They didn't even need lyrics, that's how badass this band is!"
@@Sighlense agree
Hey Jude probably comes close :)
The anthem of the 80's and beyond.....love them!!!
Omg!! Love O love this guy!!
You are absolutely right he has still got it even now....I love music and his voice is outstanding ...I am his Faithful Fan always and forever❤
Lived it.
One of the dopest songs ever.

You can t ll Neil.and the rest.of.the.band really enjoy having Steve in the band. And his vocals are just smokin
Mr. Perry will always be the voice. He is multi talented and I have been a fan for alot of years. Love and Prayers Lynn
What a band ...great journey 😎
Voice of my life
It's like finding a rare gem💎 Steve Perry s gold
Those smoky riffs with the burlesque back beat offers another treat from the Journey treasure chest!
This song will go on forever it's one of the best songs ever made on the planet Greg from Southern Rock Niagara Falls
Steve please back please ,your the Best, i brasilian ❤😍😘
Hello dear, I really appreciate the love and support I get from you all
Gosh I’m so in love with his voice
Awesome band and music, always had Journey as my "parking" music, couldnt go wrong there, simply awesome and such awesome talent!
She's tearing you apart..
Every..
Every..
dAAAAAAAaaaaay!!
Damn I love that part
Saw them live during this tour, Escape, in New Jersey sometime in the summer of '81. Great show!!
You're probably thinking of their back-to-back sold-out shows at the Meadowlands Arena in May 1982, at the end of the Escape Tour
@@kristiantoimil You're right, long time ago. As you get older the memory fades. :)
Vern Hoke I'm so jealous! I love Journey! What was your favorite song they sang?
@@summermcpherson8209 It's hard to pick a favorite as I've been a fan since "Evolution" & "Departure". One of the early favorites is "Just the Same Way" and "Lights. This show this song was great, "Anyway You Want It", Stone in Love", "Open Arms". When I saw them again in '82 during the "Frontiers" tour "Separate Ways", "Faithfully" were crowd pleasers.
The one and only ever!! A voice no one can match.
The voice💎💓
Classic!
Lordy. This man.
Classic Journey
This music it's so very really good! I'm hearing this song in Brazil. Steve Perry, i love you. You're so amazing...❤
love this
They just don't make bands like this anymore. Steve Perry's voice is out of this world. I keep Journey on rotation because their music is timeless.
