I just gave a ride to Greg's brother. I asked," is your name Greg, Mr. Rolie? ( cause he looked just like him) I can still picture the entire band. Guy said that's my brother....I'm the oldest tho!" We laughed and I said," Is this the Greg Rolie that we are both thinking of ? It is he said. So, I started playing this after he got out . Memories. I saw these guys more than I can count. Infinity came out when I was 17/18 and there was no other band that would get your girl more hot and Lovey Dovey than these guys. I wanna go back. 64 is < 18 !
Steve and Greg sound great together, I loved when he came in singing, when the summer's gone she'll be there standing by the light, his vocals just sound so amazing, I remember after hearing that song for the first time I just kept listening to hear his vocals, but those two really did sound good together.
Wait.... Wait..... Wait...... Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait! --- Steve back-to-back? --- I grew up in the 60's, 70's. I listened to some fucking good music. Went to some fucking good concerts; ted nugent, heart, rush, ac/dc, three dog night.... the list goes on and on and on. --- Journey and Styx were a couple of my favorites. Gregg Rolie never gets the credit he deserves and I'm telling anyone listening he's the dude laying down the tracks. Made love for Steve for bringing 'that' voice to the stage. Let me tell all of your, you've landed in music heaven if you're reading my spill and jamming to this beautiful music. Okay, not beatitufl in the sense, but beautiful in the fact these fella's played those instruments for real and Steve had that voice.
The band wrote Anytime before Steve Perry joined; it's credited to Robert Fleischman, Gregg Rolie, Neal Schon, Roger Silver and Ross Valory. Feeling That Way composed by, Perry, Gregg Rolie, Aynsley Dunbar
yep Gregg was the 1st singer the record co told them to get a lead singer to help the band rise to stardom this sond is bad ass with Gregg AND Steve both singing!!
And Neil just kills it he is awesome Carlos knew talent when he saw it Greg and Neil were just amazing and then moving to Journey was just the best of the best !!!!!
Neal is just so good in this...I mean his playing is great all the time, but I just love that he was pulling that stuff off in the 70's...apparently with ease...I love whammy bar trems on Les Pauls, too, but I think there is something to be said with having the limitation of not having one on a guitar...just an example of that whole "sometimes less is more" thing...and I think this video is a great example of that....thanks for posting this!
Did this audience all take a sedative before Journey took the stage? They look very lethargic and not enthused as they should be hearing Steve Perry and the rest of the band sounding phenomenal! Come on now?! 🙌🙌
I argue the rock bands in the 1970’s were the best …..Journey, Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Eagles, Kansas, Bad Company, Queen, Police, Van Helen, The Cars, Bob Seger, Skynyrd…..just to name a few
Look at the people in the crowd . They had no idea they were witnesses to the pinnacle not just of rock , but also of America . They had no idea that 40 years later it would suck like it does .
That second singer compliments the first like crazy good. Growing up in the world of the early & late 80s I remember this music never knew the name of the band but always jammed them 🙏🏻 "Once she gets to where she Goin to she should know wrong from right" they Killed it meanwhile took us all on that musical Journey ✨️
Best time to this song and the next one. My boyfriend told me at 18, to this song, “You know I love you”❤ and I told him I knew and I loved him. Now it’s 43 years later. We still love each other.❤Nice! Hang on to love! ❤
Journey at their absolute peak. Yes, Escape would chart higher, but this is the best musical iteration of the band. Tight, collaborative, and everyone on STUN.
Ansley Dunbar didn't like the direction, the songs, didn't like Steve Perry, wanted to play more fills, and hated being asked or told what to do or play! As a result, the band and drummer parted ways and Ansley left or was let go. Either way it was a mutual parting of ways. While Ansley Dunbar gave up, Imo, the gig of a lifetime, Steve Smith, a both live and studio drummer, fell into the band and then filled Journey out just fine. Neal, Ross, Steve, Gregg, and S. Smith Infinity/Evolution/Daparture/Captured all four masterpieces!😌
Early Journey will always be the best years! Always miss it I really do
Come on audience , wake up.

Gregg Rolie is still great. Him and Steve were great. Journey will never be the same as when Gregg and Steve

When Perry’s voice kicks in,gosh..
Infinity, their best album by far, and one of those albums/songs that takes me back in time....
Santana bred the horses in this supergroup. He was the John mayall of the decades to come
Neal's afro had its own roadie...
It's the best. If we only knew. <3
Yes he was should have kept him
Neal Schon is an absolute animal, and that Afro is great too lol

I was finishing up 6th grade when they released that song. lol
One of the best concerts I ever attended was a journey show in 1981 a string of hits and incredible talent across the board.
just the best!!!
i miss these times, music was so absolutely real the 80's as well, oh i miss it soooooooooooo much
