I watched this when it aired in June 1998. Lars was watching a World Cup soccer match through the whole interview. James even acknowledges it - "I'll answer all the questions".

Cool, I was there! outside , couldnt hear the interview but Kirk and Jason were just starting an interview right beside the building in a fenced off parking area with the guy VJ so me and my buddy go there and I noticed Kirk had some nice shoes on so i said something like "heeey what kind of shoooes are thooooose" while everyone else is screaming stuff like "metal up your ass fuck yeah metallica" but the interviewer picked it up and was like "hey yeah what kind of shoes you got on there" and Kirk looks down and is like "Black"

@@Saballica Oh definitely agree! The interviewer got on my nerves to. I love the fact Lars is a sports fan and that he supports the homelands. Ill be honest if that was me and a big time college (American 😁))football game was on. Especially the Crimson Tide of the Univ of Alabama. She would be lucky to even have me there to even do an interview. And best back up if I dont agree with any bad calls in the game. Im subject to have a "come apart" as we say here in the southern U.S. lol. As for the Soccer/Football thingy I know that European football is the OG of football. And their fanbases are more die hard than we are here in the U.S. So from now on I will call soccer "The originals of football" and for the U.S. its just "American Football" out of respect for Europe, S.America, The Mid East, The rest, and Lars lol.

Lars Ofcoarse had to watch the game , But just..... couldn't miss out on an interview . Needed to be there listen to everything to probably make sure nothing bad was said about Metallica. I would do be the same thing. He had to be present
this is like the most distracting environment to conduct an interview, sensory overload! you can tell the interviewer as well as james and lars all seem mildly uncomfortable throughout this whole video.

I think I remember that one, it was a promo interview for Garage Inc. on MTV in 1998. I used to have it on my channel but I think it got blocked by some copyright holders.
