I absolutely love how you explain *why* stuff works. Many tutorials just tell you what to do, but not why to do it and that is so problematic, the result is that you know how to do a single thing done in the tutorial, but not anything else. Wonderful video, thanks!
Hello there, greetings from México! I'm new to cinema 4D and I'm seeing all your video tutorials, you explain so well everything :) keep the great work, and thank you!
Awesome stuff - you are teaching me everything I need to know about Cinema. You should develop a C4D training series in the future, like something from the ground up, from beginners to advanced etc. I know there are some great ones out there, but we need more with your awesome design style which is so contemporary and relevant! Love it.
Hey Jonty! Funny you should say that becasue I'm actually currently working on a intro to c4D course on School of Motion I hope will be out in the coming months! Stay tuned and thanks for watching! Happy to be a part of you learning 3D!
Goddamnit, just spent so long going why oh why is it falling trough my floor...negative gravity, I swear it's hard to be this dense xD and then I continued watching, and you went trough it...I need to LISTEN more
Thank you very much for your effort in making this clear, I have a question, could it be possible to use an emitter to emit this wonderful bubbles, so you could have and endless fountain of bubbles? Thank you in advance
And is it possible to use the spline rig method to make the wrist connect with the Palm that connects to the fingers? I tried using your ik spline method separately with the wrist hand and fingers but the capsule objects don't connect...I don't know if there's a constraint or a tag or snap tool method to keep the fingers intact with the hand
Damn EJ, could you please tell me where I can find the texture for your teeth? Looks super clean! All jokes aside, as a film and animation student who is struggling with C4D in class, your channel and frequent tutorials mean the world to me. We're not even covering things like dynamics in class, pretty much modelling only. But following your tutorials really helps me understanding the very basics of C4D. It's also very fun to just be able to make stuff like this, and impress my classmates, lol. Keep it up!
dude thank you soo much for the awesome comment! means a lot to hear stuff like this and really happy I can help you understand C4D, appreciate your support & your views!
Hello EJ! Thank you for the tutorial! I have a problem to let the second bubble pass through the tube. Right now, I have made keyframes on enable the Dynamics, however, it stuck in the middle of the tube.
You can try to either A) make sure the two bubbles don't intersect when they blow up, or B) You can use a Wind Deformer to help blow the bubble upwards and through the tube!
Hi, EJ! Watching your tutorials all day long - it's awsome! The best! Is there any way to render cartoon styled animation(like your LemonGuy) very very fast? Maybe using R19 Hardware Rendering? I mean not photorealistic, but good enough for production? It's possible?
Hellooooo! My Lemon Guy was made using Physical Renderer...Hardware rendering using R19 wouldn't be good enough for production and I wouldn't recommend it. I think you're looking for real time render engines like Unreal and Unity!
Just make a material with Reflectance turned on, delete the default Specular, add a Beckmann Reflection, go to the Fresnel options and choose Conductor and you can then choose from a bunch of metal presets including gold! Good luck!
Hi EJ -- Great stuff here. Question: If you were going to do 100's or 1000's of bubbles would you do this the same way or is there a smart way to scale this technique for many bubbles?
That's a good question and I would assuming for something like that, the bubbles being so small, you wouldn't need accurate sims, so maybe using something like XParticles and adding animated noise to the bubble texture?
What kind of HDRI Package do you use? Also, any suggestions for newcomers who are broke, wandering around for free (somewhat decent quality) HDRI with desperation..?
I have a question The tutorial is very good and very well explained, but I have done it in Arnold. Do you know why Arnold does not respect the colliders? because I rendered the drop, with the main form Excuse my english, thanks
Hello EJ! Firs of all I want to tell you that I really like your tutorials! I'm from Argentina, and following tutorials I learned a lot, but I encountered a problem, I don't want to abuse of your generosity, but if at one point you have time to answer, I will appreciate it. I made a helix inside a sweep, to make it look like an old telephone cable, but if I apply a soft dynamic tag to it to let it drop in a natural way, C4D crashes and I have to force quit. I try with a very short helix too, and same thing happens. Thank you very much in advance.
Check out my Mesh Deformer tutorial and it should help, what your issue is is that your helix sweep has way too many subdivisions (If you go to Display > Gourard Shading (Lines)) you'll see how dense the mesh is and that will totally crash your system. Need to ensure your geometry is very light, low subdivisions by changing the Helix Spline's Intermediate points to Adaptive and bringing up the Angle to something higher to get a lighter mesh. Goodl uck!
Hi. I loved your tutorial. I liked it very much, so I'm trying something myself, but I'm having some troubles. I'm trying to create a bubble coming out of a horizontal pipe (actually three bubbles and pipes in a circular array forming an "Y" kind of disposition). The thing is te bubbles don't move in any direction (I understand it´s because the gravity is setup either up or down and does not affect the horizontal movement. I've tried to add 3 wind particle simulators, but they cancel each other. Could you please help me?
I absolutely love how you explain *why* stuff works. Many tutorials just tell you what to do, but not why to do it and that is so problematic, the result is that you know how to do a single thing done in the tutorial, but not anything else. Wonderful video, thanks!
I like how he explains ...... Cinema 4d should hire this guy
Thanks EJ you are the best instructor ever.
Really appreciate the kind words, Ahmed!! Cheers!
I really wanna know who dislike these videos, amazing work man, thank you!

EJ, marry me. Best tutorials ever.
Thanks dude, glad you enjoy the tutorials!
Startin on this now, lets see how long it takes lol. Thank you for coming out with great content =]
Haha! Hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching!
Can you post a tutorial on how to set up a scene and lighting? This effect is very cool!Thank u bro~
Lighting tutorials will come!
Very nice tutorial! I'll try it with Redshift :-)
Haha, will be better than Physical Renderer, that's for sure! :)
eyedesyn It might be faster in RS but render quality wise I think Physical does an excellent job.
Oh my god! thank you so much for this!!!
for real, thank you!!
Youre very welcome! Thanks for watching!
Thanks EJ!
I typically avoid softbodies, for it's one of the easier ways to crash CInema4d.
This is really great though!
Keep them poly's low, son! Thanks for watching, Mr. Bowtie! ;)
Great one want to learn how to let them burst on impact (on the ceiling)
Marvelous! Where did you get the HDRI Studio Rig? What type of render do you use? It would be right watching texturing as well;)
You can get HDRI Studio from GreyscaleGorilla.com! I was using Octane render for this final image but demo'd using Physical render!
THANKS MAN !
WELCOME!
Great tutorial as always! Where I can get the HDRI Studio RIG? And what render engine are you using? Thanks a lot and go on like this! :)
Awsome EJ, can you say me how i can do the same with a torus and a heart? I tried but.. the result it's not fine
where I can get HDRI studio rig plugin? thanks.
Awesome!
Thanks Hatim! Appreciate you watching!

You're too kind! Thanks for watching!
amazing bro!
Thanks 🔥
Is it posible to make an FK spline rig cause i want each of my splines points to have a control...And dope tutorial 👍
this has helped me immensly, thank you so very much!!♥ have you covered how to make liquids(like without the realflow plugin) yet?
hai EJ, can you make tutorial about Glowing texture? like japanese neon sign, i want to create cyberpunk style render
Damn EJ, could you please tell me where I can find the texture for your teeth? Looks super clean!

Could you help to solve the problem?
You can try to either A) make sure the two bubbles don't intersect when they blow up, or B) You can use a Wind Deformer to help blow the bubble upwards and through the tube!
I guess you would do it differently now with all the new tools?
WOW!
Thanks for watching!
Cool
What is your render options please ?
Ur a great tutor man ... By buddy ❤️❤️
thanks brother!!

How do I make the gold rings as shiny as yours? @18:26
Just make a material with Reflectance turned on, delete the default Specular, add a Beckmann Reflection, go to the Fresnel options and choose Conductor and you can then choose from a bunch of metal presets including gold! Good luck!

there are sooooo many HDR images for free on the internet, all you need to do is a google search!
我喜欢你的教程,这个看起来非常好看,感谢你!很抱歉我用中文回复,因为我的英文太差了😭
Hi EJ, do you know why the irr (interactive render region) is not working with the dynamics on this?
IRR doesn't work with certain things like simulations (Delay Effector, Jiggle Deformer, Cloth, Dynamics), if you cache the dynamics it should work!
Thank you very much!
Thx cool💜💜💜💜👀
I have a question
The tutorial is very good and very well explained, but I have done it in Arnold.
Do you know why Arnold does not respect the colliders?
because I rendered the drop, with the main form
Excuse my english, thanks
When I use Arnold renderer, my bubble doesn't work. Would you by any chance know how to fix this problem?
Thanks
perhaps baking out the dynamics? never used arnold so couldn't tell you!
I have blender and not Cinema 4D. Blender has soft body simulation available. Is this simulation possible through blender?
Im sure it is!
Is it possibole to do it with c4d lite ? By the way amazing tatourial
Unfortunately no, there are no dynamics in C4D lite
Muchas gracias, es un video muy bueno y muchas bendiciones :)
thanks for watching!
