EJ: This may be the MOST important video I have ever seen for my work. I create virtual packaging of products to show buyers. (Walmat) My intention is to get the products to look as real as possible before we have to expend money to make them. Especially for mockups. Our inexpensive packaging are Polybags. Clear bags that get a paper label stapled to the top. I have been struggling since I got Cinema 4D to simulate a polybag that conforms to the items inside. I have to try this to see if it does what I need, but it looks like it will do exactly what I need. Thank you in advance.
always something to learn from you huh, just saw your ad on my facebook feed (school of motion) and not gonna lie seeing the man who introduced me to 3D made me happy
you rock dude!!! I've been learning C4D for the last 30 days and every single time I hit a hurdle you have a tutorial to help!!!! seriously amazing work and thanks so much for sharing your knowledge :-)
i realized that you're on a mac, and yet you have that GTX 1080 running and an octane render. what a set up. i was looking for it but never found any tutorial about using external GPU on an imac. I always watch your tutorial simply because the explanation is very clear. i watched all those tutorials but when it comes to rendering it always end up using octane. i wanna learn octane so bad ,but again i'm on imac with Radeon.
Hey Rico! So I got my trash can mac pro running GTX 1080 with this setup: www.sonnettech.com/product/egfx-breakaway-box.html Lots of info at egpu.io to help get you all setup! I'm sure you can get this up and running with your iMac!
This video definitely helped understand cloth a lot. But I'm finding the same thing happens that always does. The instructor has a perfect result and I end up with glitchy, ugly problems nom matter how high I turn up the steps.
Man it would be so nice if C4D utilised all cores or even better - GPU, right now this rather simple simulations is soooo painfully slow. It feels like this should be working realtime or faster. Thanks for the tut ))
Hi EJ! Thank you so much for your tutorials. I'm a beginner and trying to figure out how to use octane on mac, what kind of egpu i need. Have you thought about making a tutorial about your setup and how you run octane on mac? I think it would be really helpful, Thanks again for your work! Cheers.
Pro tip: if you get bad intersections it's likely due to messy geometry of the collider object (happens often with photoscans). Just drop your object in a volume builder/mesher, and have that be a hidden collider. Problem solved.
Great Tutorial EJ. I have a job right now where I have to create a transparent cellophane flow wrap for a packet of biscuits, so it's like a long cube with crimped ends. Do you think I could use this technique to shrink a basic model of the flow wrap to my biscuit carton?
Thanks for another fantastic tutorial. 👍 Can I ask, what spec Mac are you using? Also, one other question, maybe you could do a vid on this but which renderer do you prefer? Arnold or Octane?
thanks for watching! i'm using a trash can mac pro with an egpu box with 1080TI! i've only used octane so far, but the new arnold update is intriguing! from what i understand it's pretty powerful, only thing is it costs like more than double octane or redshift.
eyedesyn I hear ya man, my studio uses Maya and we HATE it which is why I’m a little worried about us using Arnold (with all the Autodesk/Mac connotations!) . Been looking at your fantastic tutes on C4D and we are drooling over the prospect!! We have about 2 zillion Maya models though and need to work out a way to get those models into C4D.... Hmm, it’s a BIT problem......if we DO find a solution it’s bye bye Maya, hello C4D. Keep up the A W S O M E tutorials my man, superb!!!!!!
Hey thanks so much for this tutorial! but i need some help lol i dont what happend but when I do"connect" my objects come together in a very strange way. (it is a human face and has hair, the hair disappears and the texture of the eyes the same) I try everything I do not know what to do :(
Great tutorial! I’m doing this on C4DtoA & used Arnold’s built in thin plastic material for this. The objects inside show up black in the IPR - any ideas why? Thanks again!
Can't seem to make it work. I'm trying to apply this shrink wrap to a PET bottles six pack made from a duplicate lathe object. It works fine with geometry the comes within C4D.
Holy Shoot, dope technique man. Thank you. Also just completed your YUM Tutorial (Walking Through Fields: Using Fields with Volumes ), I do think you should work more often with Cinversity.
Thanks so much man, really appreciate that! I do plan on doing more Cineversity content, I do have a bunch up on there already if you look! :) also have a bunch of stuff on LinkedIn Learning too! Cheers!
Hi EJ!! Great tut as usual! One question, I just realized you are using Nvidia 1080Ti in Mac. It is a TB3 egpu enclosure connected to an iMac by any chance?? I’m using a trashcan MacPro and I would like to do the same with mine. I hope you are using the same and hopefully you can help me with my setup XD Thanks in advance and keep it up!!
Thank you! Does the geometry of the inside object, the one being collider matter as well? I tend to get very buggy mesh distortions whenever i use it on a geometry that's sort of uneven in terms of polygons distribution.
how can i adjust the animation speed of the cloth simulation, mine is so fast that iam getting the shrunk down size value of the cloth with in 5 frames.
@@eyedesyn Thanks for this info! I will try my luck with this setup ('MacBook Pro 2018' with a 'Breakaway Box 650'). Do u mind if I ask. Do use two 1080ti in this tiny box?

Hi EJ, I really enjoyed this fantastic tutorial as all the others too. you need to add an arnold parameters tag to the object and uncheck opaque @@teemakeroppi4628

totally over my head with the arnold questions.. haha thanks for everyone helping out here!
