Warm, glowing, and oozing a charming luxury, who doesn’t love a cracking gold watch? Regardless of the tone or colour, whether it’s red, pink or even white, there’s just something special about its heft and lustre. Here are 5 of the best gold watches from this year.
1. Tudor Black Bay 58 in 18K Gold
The new Tudor Black Bay 58 18K was a very unexpected entry into their Black Bay catalogue. The case is made from solid 18K yellow gold as its name suggests, retaining the 39mm diameter of previous generation models. While the lug-to-lug likely remains the same, approximately 47-48mm, the thickness may have increased by less than millimetre due to the fact it has an exhibition caseback where you are able to see the COSC-certified manufacture caliber MT5400. $22.930 AUD
2. Omega Moonwatch Professional Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph 42mm
The appeal of a black and gold colour scheme is almost universal, and on the new Omega Speedmaster Professional, it looks exceptional. The rosy tone of the solid 18K Sedna Gold melds with the jet black of the dial and bezel in a seductive way, evoking a slight ‘70s feel alongside the solid gold bracelet which was redesigned for this generation. With sapphire covering the front and back, you can view the Certified Master Chronometer movement, the Calibre 3861. $53,150 AUD
3. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph 41mm
Being a product of the 1970s, it’s surprising that we haven’t seen more Royal Oaks lavishly covered in brown. The mix of the dark chocolate dial and pink gold case and subdials just exudes warmth, almost so much that you’d swear it was heating up your wrist. The 4:30 date wheel is colour matched as to be unobtrusive, and the golden winding rotor of the Calibre 4401 can be seen spinning over the highly decorated bridges. $103,400 AUD
4. Bulgari Serpenti Seduttori
The Bulgari Serpenti Seduttori isn’t just an attention grabber, with the ‘Seductive Snake’ looking to reel you in through its sumptuous rose gold lustre, tasteful diamond-set bezel, and silvery opaline dial. The snake-head 33mm case is a Bulgari modern classic, and the standard snakeskin bracelet is less ostentatious than the Tubogas-style wrapped bracelet for a more subtle look. Of all oddly-shaped watches, the Serpenti’s proportions are definitely among the most satisfying. $43,500 AUD
5. Vacheron Constantin Overseas Tourbillon Pink/Blue
A solid gold watch with a bright blue sunburst dial will always look tremendously blingy, and what better way to stand out even further than a large displayed tourbillon? The maxi-logo of Vacheron Constantin spins with great satisfaction, knowing that this watch is a real statement piece. The movement calibre 2160 is granted the Geneva Seal, marking it out as among the best quality movements currently produced in the world. $POA

I’m probably in the minority here, but man that gold speedmaster really looks amazing to me….
Luke is with you 100%, I still need convincing, though Sedna gold is absolutely the right way to go if you go gold! Thanks for watching - Andrew
completely agree
It’s crazy beautiful
It's UNBELIEVABLE especially with the green Dial imo
It's stunning. You best bet if I had the money I'm going full yellow
I never thought I will like a tool watch in gold, but that Speedmaster is simply gorgeous!
Man! Thisbis where I see my collection moving next: PRECIOUS METAL WATCHES! I think I’m more of a rose gold gal. But love a gold watch!
I would have guessed you’d go with a diamond encrusted Cartier….
It's inevitable, and for me, it's rose gold or go home. Thanks for watching - Andrew
Get a look at the chronomat 32 or 36 in rose gold. They're quite well priced and look great.
I've always wanted to get a solid gold piece on bracelet and the gold rolex Daytona used to be a grail piece for me but that spot is now taken by the moonshine gold, green dial speedy.
My other grail gold watch is the navitimer in rose gold. God damn is that watch hot.
I'll say a third watch would be the Breitling chronomat 36 in rose gold is an amazing pick at only 26000 bucks or so. You can probably get it for much less since they're quite hard to sell like most gold watches. If I didn't look ridiculous with a sub 40mm bracelet watch then I'd buy one asap instead of waiting for a speedy or navitimer.
the best solid gold watch of recent time for me is the new Vacheron Constantin Overseas blue dial and rose gold 4500V... class, looks, and Holy Trinity horology.
Dear T&T team I think it would be really great if you were to share with us your personal watch collections and the reasons for your choices. This would give your subscribers a great insight into the people we are sharing 'time' with...
Was thinking the same thing - stay tuned!
Ps Andrew here Claz, notice you around and appreciate it
My favorites are: Bulgari octo finissimo, AP frosted, br05, vacheron Constantin overseas or Girard Perregaux Laureato
Great selection! Is that Speedmaster the Sedna or Moonshine version?
Thank You for all of your videos that you did.
Our pleasure Kev, thanks for being a good force in the world.
8:06 Yeah Man! That's a manly enthusiasm 😀
How's the timing of the ad placement - straight after the hammer 😂
Please mention the watches retail price.
Yeah damn, sorry about that, we didn't include prices in this one - usually do though 😉
RJ actually doesn’t wear a Sedna Speedy.. it’s the Moonshine one
True that a back to Speedy school for Andrew 👨🏼🏫
GOLD coloured wrist watches
The VC is stunning
Yes sir.
@Andrew , opinion regarding Hublot Integral RG 42 vs new YG 40 (Time Only)? I am craving for one of them. Best from Danish T&T fan
I have the integral 42mm. Just my opinion the skeleton dial is so much more beautiful than the time only movement.
@@markoon139 thank you. Good point. In general skeleton dials is not my favourite, but in this modern version of a skeleton no one is doing it better. My wrist thought is only 18 cm so that could also influence choice. 40 mm is so new, properly months away before one can try it. Hope T&T soon can write a review. Or even better a vs between the two sizes / models
@@jespervissing8284 My wrist is 18cm as well and it fits great. I generally prefer bigger watches over smaller ones but 42mm wouldn't be too big for you
@@markoon139 thanks a lot. Hublot is so small in Denmark, I will try it asap in Munich👍🏻👍🏻😁
Hi Jesper, thanks for the insights above on Zenith and for the question here. My answer is a personal one, as I've craved a Classic Fusion (blue Sunray dial, RG, time only, rubber strap) - the reason I haven't pulled the trigger is that for me Hublot is so much about the Unico Flyback movement and more broadly chronographs. @markoon13 below is also right - the skeletonised Unico is stunning, and something they've refined year on year. But in the end, the real advantage of the Integral is the bracelet - you have to check it out. If you can go a King Gold, the finishing of the bracelet will blow your mind. Less obvious on the Ti and Ceramic. Thanks for watching! Andrew
After seeing that Overseas with the blue dial, one ponders will Omega do the same with their Sedna/Moonshine/Canopus offerings next year.
Another entertaining video guys but the crashing and banging didn't help my hangover 😃.
Only gold watch I have now is Roamer Rotodate from 60s that belonged to my uncle. I used to wear it all tye time until I realised it was gold. Doesn't keep good time now like out by hours so I need to get it sorted.
Only other gold watch I owned was a Patek 2526, 1953 year their first automatic. I sold it too cheaply to buy my home. Along with an Autavia reedition in black and orange.
Regret both those sales. If my numbers come up I'd love a 2526 with Breguet numerals.
Happy weekend guys.
Ps I'd love that Vacheron tourbillion.
Sorry about that - the crashing was why I had a hangover 😝 Oh dear, that old seller's regret, we've all got it! Thanks for watching 🙌 Andrew
Please tell us the content of the gold. Ex. "18 karat watch" or "20g total of pure gold"
Personally would take the gold AP with a blue dial and perpetual calendar first if there was no limit in budget lol.
Andrew, how about the Zenith Defy 21 full gold 100th second chronograph?
Have you handled one and how does it compare to the Hublot?
I think it would be my choice over the Hublot. I don't know the prices but imagine it's considerably cheaper too.
I am owner of that watch. With the crocodile strap. Very substantial/ big watch. Biggest I can wear. Think the integral (flatter) Hublot will sit better on my 18 cm wrist. But the 1/100 mechanics is impressive though
@@jespervissing8284
Good choice, Zenith's star is in the rise these past few years.
Interesting idea here David - and you know what, I actually haven't worn a gold Defy 21. I've worn plenty of steel, and they wear better than their proportions, though they are definitely a big flex in terms of their size. They feel BIG, though comfortable. Jesper is on the case below. Tend to agree that the Integral will have a lower case profile, and also a shorter lug to lug. We're in the world of big watches, though, that's unavoidable with either. Thanks all for watching 🙌
@@daviddrummond8729 Only just beginning you feel.
@@jespervissing8284 Well, your opinion is king here!
omega aqua terra gold (small seconds) + rubber bracelet
Sporty, classy, winning.
@@Timeandtidewatches please review
VC all day long for me; Omega Moonshine Speedy (not Sedna) the just about affordable next best alternative 👏
Oooooh, that gold VC would look amazing with a purple dial!
It would look amazing with any colour dial! But yes, purple too, why not
Tudor skimping on the caseback and then showcasing an undecorated and blah movement is just embarrassing. Had they incorporated a stylish gold rotor, and it would have been well received. It also doesn't look all that different from the bronze.
Just do a closed caseback.
That movement is hideous to look at, lol.
Yep, the only real redeeming feature is that delicious forest green. Gets over the line for Luke, though - to each their own!
I'm all about that Sedna gold Speedmaster. That would be the one for me, not that I can afford that.
I loved the look of the speedster & looked it up, it’s $62k 🤣🤣
Give me a gold Speedmaster, I won’t need any other dress watch ever
Sure man, we'll ship one out 😉
why we dont' have rolex gold watches
9.5 minutes and not a single Rolex on the list???
I know. Incredible. These are from the last 12 months only - and the gold Daytonas on Oysterflex didn't make the cut this time. Not too much else to choose from?
Liked and subbed
Did anyone ever realised the biggest draw back of gold watch in my opinion is they are soft like baby bump and is a scratch magnet.... And good luck trying to polish it. Besides its too bright you will need sunglass to see it 🤪
Gold watches are good first date watches
Goes without saying , but yes, there are many practical drawbacks to going gold - unless Hublot "Magic Gold' which is scratchproof.
Is this a competitor to the Day Date?
Obviously not...it's a competitor to the Daytona.
I was expecting an affordable watch in between. None of those 5 watches worth the asking prince, in my opinion.
Hublot? Bro, the watch doesn't deserve to be on someone's wrist.
Love love that vacheron...gosh how baller can you get...oh I want So Badly
The pain is real.
