Swarf has got to play heck with keeping tools sharp. Really like this turn.
Thank you James, actually it wasn't all that bad,
For the record, I think this is an amazing project, Doug! Of course, I hit that Like button waaaaay before the video ended. Just think, only sixteen bowls just like this and you'll have way more room in the shop!! Seriously, it's a great piece!
Thanks again Clayton! only 16, you've been in my shop you know I can make for than that !
That's a bowl I could spend hours looking at and notice something new every time!
Thank You Debra
In the beginning it looked like a collection of scrap but slowly it took shape. Beautiful.
Thank you Thank you Khan
Doug you knocked it out of the ball park with this one no matter the flaws. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Thank you Anita
This is so beautiful. When you were putting it together it reminded me of a magpie's nest full of shiny bits and interesting things that the bird had collected because he thought they were special. Then you went to work and look how awesome it turned out! Beautiful colors too. A super job!
Thank you so much!
Love this bowl. It started out looking like a mess, but in the hands of a skilled craftsman, it became something beautiful. Just like when we come to faith in Christ. We hand him our mess, and in His skilled hands, we become something beautiful.
Thank you Paul
I really like this one. It’s very unique. I sit and watch these videos for hours
Thank you Amy, I use to also
From mishaps and scraps, to a beautiful work of creativity. Nicely done Doug.
Thank You Steve
I particularly like the effects of the pistachio shells, and the honeycomb mesh. The clear blue really sets them off well!
Thank You Stephanie, the blue does make it POP !
the tool cam is revolutionary. for a second there i actually felt like i was a bowl gouge.
Thank you, I'm still working on that, I needed a couple adapters so you could see better
My word, so pretty. Looks like the bottom of a large ocean rock pool.
Thank you Jacquie, I guess it does look like the ocean bottom
I love this!!! It has a strong Yin and Yang vibe for me...a balance of industrial and natural.
Thank you
I've done a bunch of scrap bowls but mainly with just wood cutoffs. You've taken this to a whole new level. Great job.
Thank you Tom
I liked the tool's-eye view when you were turning the bowl's interior- it gave us a different perspective, literally!
Awesome! Thank you Carolyn!
Turned out amazing, I expected it to be more opaque but love how translucent it turned out. Thanks for sharing Doug.
You're Very welcome, Thanks for watching Jeff !
Again, I really love your ideas Doug. It is amazing how they work out sometimes. And this is a good example. It became i nice piece of art, with wonderful colors. Thank you for sharing, my friend. 👍👍👍
Thank you Thank you, sometimes you think oh that will never look good and BAM it smacks you upside the head and says Look at me NOW !
I love this creative way to use leftover pieces. It made a really nice bowl.
Thank you Doug!
Thank You Texana
Hi Dougggggggggg!!!! Cute apron! I love how you are using scraps! That blue sure is pretty! What are those white things, they look like toenail clippings. Wow I really love how up close you take us while you are turning and we get to see all your smooth moves! Cool! Sharpening the tools, I often wondered how you did that! WOW the bowl looks astounding!!!! I love it so much, it's so so so pretty! No thumbs down!!! You are amazing! Thanks for showing us your awesome talent!!!!
Thank you Robin, I said what they were
That bowl was sick. A little bit of everything going on in it.
Thank You Ken, we're gonna have to change it up some I think, my views are stale and I think it's because my projects are as well,
Doug, this has to be one of your prettier bowls you have don. This tang looks amazing!
I think so too! Thank You Kevin
This is my kind of bowl- colourful with a bit of everything. Like a mongrel dog that everyone loves. Amazing as always Doug 😎😎😎
Thank you Thank you Luke, Have a great weekend

Thank You Lynda
Wow it looks so beautiful, like a deep dive in a crystal clear Ocean
Thank you Ahron
Mom, what are we having for dinner.
Leftovers!
Cool!!!
Thank You Thank You
This is such a cool bowl. I didn't think it would look all that nice with all the odd things you put in it but it's so lovely.
Thank you Annette
I appreciate your skills and your style. I loved the ride when the camera was attached to your forearm. The bowl is beautifully done.
Thank you Sylvie, to my forearm sounds like a great idea !!!
Maybe your wife will name it. Very cool bowl.
Thank you Sarah
Wow! That looks awesome! It turned out great!
Thank you Jessica
Красота! Мне очень нравится когда вы изготавливаете изделие из совершенно разных материалов!
Благодарю вас ! никогда не знаешь, что получишь из обрезков
This grab bag of stuff turned out so well! I swear that impression of the 5lb plate looked so much like the real thing I thought it was the actual plate stuck to the resin. When you put it on the lathe I thought, "Surely not!" Lol. Such a fun piece!
Thank You Leigh, many many people thought I cut the real weight up, not realizing that the resin had pulled the paint off of it.
Amazing bowl Doug! As always! You are one of my favorite turners, you always share your success and failures with equal grace. I think your laid-back attitude is fantastic! You use that term because it reflects your outlook. That's why I like it so much. Um, fyi...you don't have to wear that apron again if you don't want to. I got such a kick out of seeing it in one of your videos, it was worth it! Love to you and yours, Doug.
I wondered if you were still watching, wife stole the dog shirt sorry, lol My wife told me I should wear it to save my clothes but I don't want to ruin it, thanks again Amy !
Yep it IS beautiful, as well. Looks like a treasure.
Thank you Thank you Kathi

Thank You Mark
I like the pistachio shells. They pop with the blue.
Thank You
It's beautiful. I particularly love the roll-over sparkly rim. Colour mix is great. Best of all it's using up scraps which is always good. Thanks!

I know Ive already made a request recently and you actually made it. Thanks. How awesome would it be if you made a resin and wood rolling pin.
Thank you and thank you for the suggestions, actually that is another suggestion I've gotten multiple times
@@PohlBarnProductions Your such an amazing artist. Keep up the amazing content and cheerful personality.
Dig the sleeveless straight jacket and the addition of the tool camera. Way to stay creative. The bowl turned out great.
Thank you, LOL never herd it called that before,
That's the difference between you and myself Doug. You make gems out of scrap and I make scrap out of gems. LOL More awesome work!!
LOL yeah I've made my share of scraps, thanks again Bryan
Beautiful bowl Doug. A best way to use up leavings from past projects.
Thank you Thank you Jack
Holy scraps Batman

Morning Doug hope you & yours are safe & well. I really like this pile of scraps it is so pretty, thanks for sharing😁😁🐶🐈🐐
Thank you Ellen, hope all is well for you
Great bowl its a mixture of different characters.
Thank You Michael
I love this bowl so much! I am a huge fan of mixing texture and material and this bowl does just that. I think it would be so cool if you did one of these as the last bowl of the year. Almost as a 'year in review' thing and then you could label them by year and remember all the pieces you made
Thank you Maisie, That's actually a great Idea, now if only I can remember it in Dec.
Neat creative bowl, Mr Michigan!! I especially like eclective themes with nice colors, and that one sure qualifies!! Well done!
Awesome! Thank you Charles!
Memories in a bowl.
Yes ! Thank you Kathy
Doug, that's a work of art my man! Great job! Enjoy the summer weather this weekend.
Thank you Harold, all one day of it, how much can we do in one day hiding from the heat in the house , LOL
I love the scrap bowl. It’s very pretty. Please do some more 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank You Debra
Good evening, Doug. Hey, this is a cool bowl. Definitely one of a kind and I like it.
Thank You Ray
One of my favorites Doug.. So colorful and very pretty.
Thank you Nena
Your scraps bowls are awesome and its a great way to use pieces too small to turn but beautiful to be thrown away
So true! Thank You Michael
That looks fantastic, Doug! So much interest and so many stories in that piece. Your element placement was great, even if it floated around on you, a bit. I like where the honeycomb appeared to be fragmenting away into the loose aluminum shavings. I find scraps bowls can be hit or miss. This is a clean hit.
Thank You Jay, was a pain trying to keep all that from floating like that, I cut a lot of it out. lol
I appreciate you always making sure we can see when the stringers get on the cam. Perhaps a small fan aimed at the camera would help keep them away. ✌😎
Thank You Drake, all that is intentional !
I really like abstract art and this bowl fits the bill. Kudos. 🤘
Thank you
Beautiful bowl, Doug. And super cool to use left overs from projects past. Built in character. Awesome. Take care. 😊
Thank You Rob
I love it!! It's so unique and fun, great job Doug!!

You are a unique master . Thank you for your work. Continue to please with your works
Thanks again my friend !
Doug, first time on your channel. I absolutely love this piece. You did a wonderful job. Thank you so very much for sharing your work. ❤ 😎
Thank You Dotty and Welcome Aboard !
I love the bowl gauge cam that was so sick you should do that more often
Thank you Camryn, I am working on improving that gouge camera views !
You said you were going to make something with scraps! I'm glad can't wait,to see it, I know it be at least interesting if not fascinating and beautiful. Take care, keep safe!
Thank you Kathi, um did, lol
