This is one thing I love about this channel. He shows us his mistakes and mishaps along the way, Instead of just a finished product we get to see the struggle, work and creativity that goes into this. Hi Doug!! I am mesmerized watching watching the resin spin off. I'm really loving the look of the bowl with the brown and blue, it looks so cool. It almost looks as though you are out in the atmosphere looking down at the earth with all the mountains as the brown parts and the water as the blue. That was smart putting it in the deep freeze. I love the logo, it's so pretty. You do good!

The roots with the blue resin gave a very interesting effect: it almost looks like we're looking at the map of an alien world, with the resin being the ocean, and the wood, with it's light and dark areas, landmasses. All in all, a very intriguing piece of craftwork!

Doug you do amazing work! I absolutely love this bowl! The blue shade of resin with the wood reminds me of crevices in the ocean along a sea of coral beds. It was fun being in the workshop today. Made me laugh as the resin was all over the place! It really felt like we were there with you! Whoever gets this bowl will be blessed! It’s beautiful!

Wow, this was an amazing project! Thank you for all the work you did, all the fiddling around, all the persistence to complete this. It really paid off in such a gorgeous bowl. I agree with what others have said, that it looks like a map or a globe or something. I wish that wood wasn't such an enormous pain to turn, with all the dirt and holes and all, because the results are just stunning! Congrats on a beautiful piece of art.

It is amazing how you can take something which is frustrating and time consuming and make something so beautiful from it. Rather like trying to raise a child, come to think of it. The mix of blues is stunning, and I found myself seeing things in the wood as you showed the final piece to us- landmasses of a distant planet, even a dinosaur skull at 22:21!

That was a hard earned bowl, Doug. Well done and I appreciate how excellent it looks after the struggles you went through to complete it. The thin-looking sides work for me.
Didn't know you could get away turning resin a bit soft. I will have to keep that in mind. I remember not too long ago Billy Burt had some problems with a pair of tea light holders that did not seem to be fully cured and they never quite polished up for him. Anyway, just another little bit of information to keep in the back of the mind when needing to fix problems or know when you can start working on a project again.

Honestly, you do brilliant work, and I love how you use color. you probably talk your work down a little too much, I imagine most people doing this kind of work has the same issues as you do, only they do not show it or say it on camera.
Just like my hubby building his railroad, he does the most beautiful work, I am his no.1 fan, he has all kinds of issues here and there and he is not afraid to talk about it, but all the pages he is on, there is no mention of such issues. they are perfect.
So I am glad there are people that keep it real, and still do the most beautiful work. well done.

Although the bowl ended up a bit thicker, based on the type of wood you were using, I think it looks better that way. You can see the depth of the wood on each edge where the wood meets the resin and with all those swirls and nooks in the wood, there are a lot of edges exposed. Absolutely gorgeous!
