I graduated first week of June and I got a job last week of June. I am a data analyst now and major part of how i made it happen is the Google data analytics cert. Take the course you will not regret it.
@Stephen Slade I cleaned my CV, google will also teach you how to, send it to every data analyst job post. I aced the assessment test then got a call for an interview. I guess luck also played a role. hehe
I was able to get a FAANG data analyst role around 1 month after completing the Google Data Analytics Certificate. I did not hold a data analyst position before starting this role. However, it is important to remember how much work still needs to be done after you complete this certificate.
I did the IT one and I was able to get a job as a DevOps Engineer, and I agree with you since this type of courses is just in introduction to what you can do. Really like your videos!
did you have any previous IT experience? Devops doesn't seem like a role that you get cert and you're automatically hired. can you say more about how you got the position?
This makes me happy. I'm taking the course atm for the same career path. I'm also doing some cloud stuff and learning more in depth python because I feel like it will help.
I don't have a Data Analytics Certificate but I do have the UX/UI Designer Professional Certificate and I'm working on the Google Digital Marketing Certificate now. Though I don't think I got my current job because of the certificate but when I earned the UX Designer certificate I kepted on creating projects using what I learned from the course. I think the courses teach you what you need to do and points you in the right direction but you ultimately need to continue doing the work from there.
I just want to say that I LOVE videos like this which share the experience of "normal" people. Too many videos out there are interviews with FAANG (MANGA?) Data Scientists etc. and it gives a skewed perspective of the skills and experience required to break into the field and get your first job. The four people in this video are a great example of what you need to get started and their stories are very motivating and inspiring.
Grant, thanks so much for this! So many great opportunities out there in data science that I think people need to be exposed too! Thanks for following my channel!
I just have to say I admire the technical skill of weaving together all of these interviews and the overarching narrative you provide through the video. Shout out to everyone involved on the production of this. 🏆 And personally thank you for the quality of substance too. You seem to organize and answer everything my brain starts to ask as I listen. Well done. 👍🏼
Jason, your comment made my day; Thanks for noticing the work that went into this!! Also super lucky to have been put in touch (and have the privilege to interview) with these individuals that completed the certificate! 🙌🏼
I have to agree the certificate is such a great start and lays a good foundation in the principles of data analysis. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not to mention the tips on working in a team, building your resume and applying for a job. It's very well rounded.
I'm taking it right now! It's pretty interesting so far. I'm also taking the ML one from Stanford. Hopefully it will allow me to find a good wfh data analyst/scientist job.
Woah really inspiring stories!! 😍 I'm always so amazed by the endless possibility to combine data analytics with so many different fields, like what the interviewees here have proved. Really cool!! Thanks so much for this video, Luke!! 🙌🏽 PS: My heart just dropped a little when Antonio said they shouldn't have used R in the certificate 🤯😢
Yes! So agree with this, so crazy how everyone came from different backgrounds and experiences to land their jobs. And ha 😂 I had a feeling Antonio was going to do that 🤣 I still love R!
I can relate with how to build portfolios. When you accomplish small projects or initiatives are good starting points. Also, these small projects are used in real environments. On the right track!! I also love the idea that she offered her aervice to build a portfolio. Love this video!😀
I’m currently in an entry level data analytics position after being in management for many years. I’m taking the certificate to supplement my learning in my free time. I also use W3 schools. I wouldn’t say this will get you a job more than prior experience.
Thank you for sharing! I just finished the first 4 courses, and I have halfway to go. I would say that learning a coding language is not hard, but knowing the logic behind it and how to apply it in the project are really not simple. Actually, I learned how to think like a data analyst, and it helps me a lot in my daily tasks.
That's awesome to hear that you've learned so much in only the first half, you sound like you're going about your studies in the right way. Keep up the hard work, Yingjiao!
As always what an amazingly made video!! What surprised me the most was even though none of us have had conversations in real life, our thought process and approach to everything related to learning and job search are so so similar! Really loved the way you took our almost hour long conversation and condensed it in a way that I felt our whole conversation was in this video. And finally congratulations my fellow interviewees for getting such amazing jobs!!
Thanks for this Anant!! As I was making this video I thought the same thing as you! None of these individuals have talked to each other before, but they are all taking a very similar approach. OH and they were all successful in landing a job 🙌🏼
Having a certificate, having a portfolio is just pieces of the puzzle that combined makes the picture whole for the potential employers. All of those things add up, but individual are weak.
Thanks for this video! I’m working on their newer certificates and the info about the portfolio in addition to the certificate is something that I’ve been thinking about. For anyone going the financial aid route, there are questions that Coursera asks about your situation and there was a two week waiting period, but I was approved!
I am currently in process taking the certification courses. I am 5 courses in (three to go) and I was nervous that I was just wasting time and money taking these courses. I felt really afraid that I wasn't going to dig myself out of the customer service job hole. This gave me some good insight and I hope I can be as successful as these folks on your video thanks for the reassurance and I'm going to go finish this asap.
On the same page too. I hold a master degree in international affairs and I speak 3 languages. I could not find a job. All jobs that I want to apply they required experience, how I will gain experience if no one gave me a chance, anyway I got stressed out, so I tried to change the field. Good luck to you!!
@KT Alexander Hope this tutorial also helps you. These are 12 rules to succeed as a Data Analyst and I found these to be very helpful. Hope this tutorial also helps you: ua-cam.com/video/hBTnGxCQnvw/v-deo.html
I completed mine in One Month, Five days on whilst writing my MSc. Data Science Dissertation. This course has met my needs and broaden my horizon as someone coming from a non-tech background (BSc. Educational Psychology). I'm here to thank you because I heard about it here. I am confidence to securing a job after my MSc course becuase I am well equipped now. Thanks, Luke.
One of the things I don't hear a lot when talking about the Google Data Analytics Certificate is how the Certificate occasionally reminds you that it's preparing you for a Junior Data Analyst role. So I'd be interested to see if the experiences differ for applicants if they're applying for a Junior Position.
It's probably depends where you are located. I'm from small North EU country and Google doesn't mean absolutely nothing here. It's basically search Web page with bad reputation. Getting a job with or without is equal. We prefer self learning and skills what you can show over any education. You can be 15 without finishing primary school and get programmer job is you know what you are doing.
@@homeoffice3524 Yes I think you are right, however, be aware that most companies instantly neglects an interview with someone who doesn't have any kind of degree or certificate, especially if you are sending the request online. So that can make it a little harder to get it, but of course if you know what you are doing you will still be able.
@@thulanidendere3986 I knew nothing about data analytics(absolutely nothing) so It took me almost 20 days to complete the first one.Second course has gone pretty much faster.Alongside,I'm learning python which is required in data science and analytics. So, summary is, as a slow learner I'm taking time as per required!
I’m going through a massive career shift. Going from Education into the Data analytics field is a major change. I had a minor in Marketing and truly found all the mini projects throughout the courses the most enjoyable. Finding, analyzing, and fixing problems were arguably my most enjoyed moments. Thus, this made the most sense when I decided to shift careers. I’m still very nervous about this undertaking and it not working out when it’s all over. I just finished Course 2 in less than a month and I’m hoping I’m not rushing it or making the wrong choice.
I'm currently a business analyst with a bachelor's in business analytics. Currently undergoing Google data analytics cert bc it covers approaching /managing projects for analytics and dealing with stakeholders, etc..... I feel my degree has given me alot of technical experience bit none of the soft skills necessary to working projects and with people.... Google cert is really helping me with this
I'm really glad I found your channel and got to verify whether this certificate is good or not as I was confused at the start. I have started getting in touch with like minded people who have completed this course as well. Please make a similar video about IBM Data Analytics certificate as well...Super informative content. All the love from India!!!
I've done some research and was initially scared of changing my career to a data analyst. After watching this video, I am heavily considering starting this course as Luke has done an excellent job with explanations and the idea of speaking with real life examples! I have a CSR (Customer Service Representative) background. I saw a few other comments from those with CSR backgrounds and if possible, I'd love to hear from others about their experience. Once I start the course, I will be able to fully devote my time to studying. I will definitely be keeping everyone updated!
I'd focus on the course itself and not worry too much about dedicated supplemental materials. With that I'd get as much as possible out of the last module of building a project; this is key in showcasing experience
doing a video based on the best possible way to find a data analyst job by a data analyst is the most data analyst thing one could do. definitely applied everything you have learned in data analytics. thank you for such a great content!
I've been 10 months in since my completion of the Data Analytics Certificate by Google, and I haven't gotten any offers yet. I've applied to over 1500 job applications nationwide and no luck. I've come close towards the final interviews, but ultimately no offers. It's been a tough ride so far.
You're making mistakes if you're telling the truth. Stop doing what isn't working and change strategies. Redo your resume and cover letter and speak with industry. Recruiters to get a contract to hire position if you're seriously having this much trouble
Thanks for diving into this topic. I have completed the Google Data Analytics certificate last year just for fun, and also to see what the hype was about. I have more than 12 years of data analysis experience, and the course took me around a month to complete. Just to be clear, it was not meant to help me clinch my current job (dealing with machine learning). It's just something I'm curious about. I do echo with the others that this is a good introduction to someone who have no previous experience in data analysis before. It is however not really set up to help clinch a data analyst job. Realistically, someone in the industry needs to be fluent in at least one programming language, and that do take a lot of time and dedication, beyond what this certificate cover. What this certification introduced in SQL and R are insufficient to carry out the daily data wrangling work that are often noisy, and the requirements of the analysis (mining and evaluation) can be ill-defined. One really need to at least complete boot camp courses on the language to get one familiar with the flow of searching through existing documentation and resources to come out with bespoke solution to noisy data. And to really stand up, it would be wise for one to have an active profile (e.g. github, collab, replit, kaggle) to showcase one's work.
This is awesome to hear that you took the course to see if it really matched up to expectations. Thanks for providing this review; very much agree with a lot of what you are saying here... especially regarding the tool usage.
It's true. I got a premium entry job at a bank as a data analyst and BI expert. pay is above the national median, they do a full course on training new recruits and it's in part because my boss values and recognizes coursera and the degrees as a valid source of learning.
Yes yes yes to highlighting project experience in addition to the certification! I always get questions on my livestreams about what certifications will land you a job. It is the learning and projects that build your credibility, not just the certification title
I am busy now with this course. I am a Heavy-duty mechanic but I saw that this data analysis could be used in my field of work and how it could benefit a company I decided this is the best course to take while working because when I am done I can make project projections about the machines and how it can improve and where all the main problems are. Thanks to you Luke I saw that Google is giving me these opportunities.
I completed the Google Data Analytics certificate and after the I completed Modern Big Data Analysis with SQL by Cloudera . Now I started the UC Davis Tableau specialization.Really excited about Data Analytics.Hopefully I will be able to land a job one day.
I started my coursework Thursday and have been putting 5-6 hours every day and I should get to the last course in about two weeks if I keep it up. My goal is to finish it in 3 weeks so I can add more certificates to my resume and work on projects on the side. I am currently unemployed. I’ll be getting the coursera + subscription to get multiple certificates and project experience with the 3 month runway that I have.
Love hearing how you are working to achieve your learning goals in this 3 month period. This is awesome!! Good luck with your studies and don't neglect the projects!
Another fantastic video! I’m going to start the cert soon and I’m excited and positive about the possibilities. Knowing it’s not enough, skills, projects will be key!
Hey Luke! Absolutely loved the video and perspectives that were given -- I just recently finished/obtained the GDAC and was working on different projects from Open Data Datasets and competitions like Kaggle before going on a job hunt myself. It is great to see the recommendations of building portfolios, showcasing skills, and continuing to learn even after earning a certificate from those breaking into the field and how the cert helped them! Thank you for all your videos, they are incredibly helpful!
I completed the GDAC and IBM(Python) certificates, as well as a 3rd from 365 data science, and still don't feel ready for a role. I am just now feeling like I can make it into the field with my newfound knowledge. I guess I am pretty risk-averse to trying to learn everything I can until I am comfortable applying. I'll get there though. My background is 5 years in the manufacturing field with a mechanical engineering degree as well.
Thanks for sharing this Leslie, from my perspective it seems like you have the basics down. I'd start moving into building a project to not only showcase experience but also help with building that confidence that you are on the right track. Keep up the hard work!
Very insightful video. Thanks for what you do, Luke. I commenced already (at the end of February) and I'm steady making progress, I can't wait to start doing projects.
Thanks to UA-cam for this video recommendation. I always wondered what it was like for peoole who had completed the program. Im about to begin the 8 course which is the capstone project. I think its a great starting point, but we have to keep developing our skills even after earning the cert to land a great job and have a shot at a successful career.
33, carpenter with a degree in business administration. Recently got my Permanent Residency for Australia so I am currently transitioning from the construction industry to data analytics. I did the Google certificate in 3 weeks (I had a lot of time to do it and my wife was 9 months pregnant so I had a deadline too!) Worth it as a starting point! My suggestion is, once you finish, go learn python. To me, it has been the most important and eye opening tool. I also like power BI and can be as useful as tableau. 2 months after starting this journey to data analytics, I am currently looking for work and applying for 10-15 jobs per day.
I think the best part of the GA certificate is that it's only $250, compared to thousands for $10K for a bootcamp. In my mind it provides the same benefits at a much lower cost. I wish I had this when I was getting starting!
I've been in the sea of videos regarding this certificate data analytics as a career, learning SQL etc and yours is the first video (so far) I watched to the very end. Thanks!
IMPORTANT NOTE to anyone who's looking into starting this certificate - you DO NOT have to pay, you DO NOT have to apply for financial aid, instead, look for the AUDIT this course button (it will be small and hidden), this gives you access to the ENTIRE specialization for FREE! the difference? you can't submit the major tests (it will ask you to pay) but who cares, as you've seen from the video, the final 'stamp' of getting the certificate isn't important, auditing the course gives you access to all of the information: lecture videos, written, exercises, most quizzes.
I'm currently in the 1st year of my B. Tech, and the stuff i have learnt from these courses is probably way more important and interesting than my entire curriculum. Its not just about getting a job, the stuff you learn from these high quality courses (there are more so check them out too) will help you figure things out. IT is very overwhelming if you are passionate about working on a meaningful project, and even getting to know how basic things work is pretty euphoric. You won't get a job just by doing these, but these are helpful. I got a paid internship (Students in India usually do not get paid internships unless they are from the IITs, its really messed up, and only few students get internships in their 1st year) and the questions asked to me during my interview process were mostly based on my projects, and i could answer them so well only because i knew exactly what i was doing, and these courses played a huge part in this. 100/10 absolutely recommended. Another amazing thing is they usually do not have pre-requisites and if they do, they make it very clear so that students do not feel like they are not smart enough for these courses.
Hi Ankita, I'm also from India. I'm looking forward to this course. I've done BSc Statistics and currently pursuing MSc Statistics. I don't know English that much. I want to be a data analyst. What advice will you give me? And one last question, Can I get a job in India as a data analyst? If yes then how. Please reply I'll be very thankful.
@@vg1021 Yes ofc you can get a job in India as a data analyst, but i would first ask you to look for related internships, as someone with MSc it will be necessary for you to have some experience. Tbh your English proficiency should not be an issue whatsoever, but maybe focus on that too because companies here might choose someone who is more fluent in English. Take as many courses as you can from coursera (related ones) and maybe also try getting a paid certification from Udacity, because people will generally take you more seriously if you have a profession certification that you paid for (as it would indicate you were serious about the course and not just browsing through the course content because it free). I personally do not know much about the field, so maybe try talking to people on LinkedIn who have a (suitable?) job description related to the domain you want to work in, and that way you will learn a lot about the field. All the best
@Ankita Thank you so much for the reply. I'll definitely get those certificates. About internship, in my university there is nothing like internship. I'll do it for free if I get a chance.😅
@@vg1021 do not do it for free, look for opportunities. I am one of only 6 students in my university doing an internship, so its not impossible, considering im not the brightest
The comments on this being a good starting point is true for any type of online learning certificates etc in data analysis. I was lucky to be in an Excel analyst position when I was going through online courses, and was able to transition some of my excel workflows into R. From there I got a new job with programming and SQL as a requirement by talking about my experiences using R. For those that aren’t in a position like I was, just doing some individual projects like mentioned in the video is a great way to signal to employers that you can do the work. I did DataCamp, and I never once mentioned it in any of my interviews, people care about what you can do, and not how you learned it.
I completed it in two weeks, but I already knew most of the material, so just skipped most videos and took back-to-back tests. (Except for the R sections, which I didn't know and had to learn.) Just graduated from college in December and have only been job hunting for a month now, so time will tell if it was worth it.
I mean it's a great introduction program, I'm halfway through it I also have a degree in communications and computer science from a top level university but I haven't started working yet. I've applied to a good amount of jobs maybe after I get this certificate I'll get more interviews. I think the coolest thing about the certificate is that the eighth class is in itself a project, projects are important for portfolios. I don't know I'm trying to get internships right now, I haven't had much luck hopefully when once I finish this I'll have more. I think my degree should help me
@@cabovalo honestly I'm in the last class right now I'm finishing the final project. The final project is quite a bit of work so I kind of took a break but I need to get back to it. After that final project then I'll be on the job board
Hey Luke. I've got my Google DA certificate a couple weeks ago and I just want to make a point on the R vs. Python discussion. They both can do the same when it comes down to manage data. The main difference is how you have to write each of them. If you have never ever learned any programming language before, Python is intuitive to learn. This is equal to this. Do the following and a colon at the end while R is not like that. You assign with an arrow to either left or right, you have to put variables the other way around sometimes... it's a mess. Now, if you come from a different language, you feel like you are learning to program all over again. You have to switch a lot of switches in your brain and that can really hurt your programming skills in the long run. To put it more clearly, if you know all other modern programming languages in the world, you will find R very weird so no matter how good is it for data analysis, nobody should be using it for that. It hurts people. R is bad for humanity. Leave it just for weird people like statisticians.
It’s true I’m almost done with it. It’ll teach you the skills but you have to put it together. You’ll almost 100% need a project and be able to explain it to the prospective employer. They want to know you can understand the work you’re doing to do the job.
All the people that I know that finished this certificate including myself have degrees. This by itself might not get you a job as a data analyst however this is a great start into the field. Even myself with a bachelors in applied mathematics from a top 10 public university plus this certificate and years of coding with Python,, was having problems finding work as a junior data analyst. It is very competitive since people with Masters degrees in a different field and people with job experience related to this field trying to transition to data analytics, are also applying to these jobs.
As someone, who is currently going through the course, I really appreciate this video and everyone's perspective and experiences. I'm excited to finish and meet my own problems too! xD
I am from Pakistan, having a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. Working full time in the relevant field. But making $ 200 a month as there is high inflation and low salaries. I started my research for career change and had been watching different videos. I had decided to be a data analyst and since then I am learning relevant things. I am on course 3 of Google data analytics certificate, have been exploring youtube for SQL so I know the basics and now learning the intermediate SQL skills. I am not shy of working hard. I apply what I learn. I just wanted to ask. I do not have a relevant degree, if I learn these skills. Will I get a job in Data analytics?
Thanks Nerd. I was taking the cert and then started my masters degree in CIS...so I had to put it aside. And now, after 1 year in CIS learning at a graduate level, and finding that I really love data analytics, SQL, database creation and admin, R, C#, Tableau, excel, building dashboards, telling the data story, and also organizing the data.. I still want to go back for that cert just for the extra learning and project building. ❤

i just want ask are there enough jobs available in this field? cause everyone is doing this cert (can someone tell the condition of this field in India?)
Nobody will you offer you a Data Science job with a Coursera certificate. Statistics is the heart of Data Analysis. Loved this video! I have beginner experience with Python and just enrolled in this Certificate. I was bummed to learn that they would be focusing on R but I still think it's worth it. If anything, I will enroll in an additional Python course to bolster those skills.
I'm on module 6 of the 8 modules of this Data Analyst Certificate. I love it! I'm taking more time to actually work with the data to create projects on Kaggle to get better at SQL. I also found a free site SQLBolt that has a tutorial which walks you through SQL coding and teaches it easier than the Google course. I will focus on projects during interviews and hopefully find my own job in the financial, banking, or real estate sectors... which is my background.
Thanks a lot for this very informative video, Luke. I've been thinking about starting this course and attaining the certificate and after watching this video more of my questions have been answered..
I am really greatful that i come across this video. It really helps me to stay motivated as i learned about combining data analytics with other sectors like engineering. I am a mechanical engineering student and looking forward to become a robotics engineer and it seem to me that data analytics is a good add on skill to learn. Thank you for creating such a good video.
I really appreciate your insight and others on this certificate. At first I thought I was doing unnecessary studying on the side, but I am just adding on to the knowledge that I know now. I'm willing to learn it all just to get my foot in the door. Thank you!
I’m currently enrolled in this course, I work as SAP Consultant but I find really interesting working with data, I don’t know where this will take me but I’m doing it just for fun.

Thank you Luke! I am taking this course right now, currentky jobless. Your advice had made me realize I should do more than earning this certificate. Thankyou so much for putting this out.
Thanks for this video. I am a nothing in my 30s with no education that would like to be able to work from home. This video saying it's a good starting point really helps me just start. Everywhere I looked everyone's asking if they can get a job with it but go on to say they want like 70k-90k a year and they are actually grad with a medical engineering shamanistic astronaut literature pope degree. Where as I have no education to couple the cert with and would be fine with minimum freakin' wage. I always had a keen interest in programming growing up but didn't know how to tackle that either in a meaningful manner so I'll see if this could lead somewhere near it. Thanks again.

The four people in this video are a great example of what you need to get started and their stories are very motivating and inspiring.
Grant, thanks so much for this! So many great opportunities out there in data science that I think people need to be exposed too! Thanks for following my channel!
Netflix lost it's prominence so it's now (MAGA) 😂
@@infini.tesimo I nvr considered Netflix as part of the alphabet group.😏
I just have to say I admire the technical skill of weaving together all of these interviews and the overarching narrative you provide through the video. Shout out to everyone involved on the production of this. 🏆
And personally thank you for the quality of substance too.
Heck yeah, thanks for sharing this Cheryl!! Agree that it lays such a great foundation!
I'm taking it right now! It's pretty interesting so far. I'm also taking the ML one from Stanford. Hopefully it will allow me to find a good wfh data analyst/scientist job.
I gotta say I already have python and MATLAB experience
Heck yeah, keep up the hard work on the certificate Laia!
Woah really inspiring stories!! 😍 I'm always so amazed by the endless possibility to combine data analytics with so many different fields, like what the interviewees here have proved. Really cool!! Thanks so much for this video, Luke!! 🙌🏽
PS: My heart just dropped a little when Antonio said they shouldn't have used R in the certificate 🤯😢
Yes! So agree with this, so crazy how everyone came from different backgrounds and experiences to land their jobs.
And ha 😂 I had a feeling Antonio was going to do that 🤣 I still love R!
you can do it mate, keep going
I can relate with how to build portfolios. When you accomplish small projects or initiatives are good starting points. Also, these small projects are used in real environments. On the right track!! I also love the idea that she offered her aervice to build a portfolio. Love this video!😀
Heck yeah, Suzannah offered such a unique perspective, loved her way of finding a portfolio project!
I’m currently in an entry level data analytics position after being in management for many years. I’m taking the certificate to supplement my learning in my free time. I also use W3 schools. I wouldn’t say this will get you a job more than prior experience.
Good luck with the certificate, Jamie!

I’m really glad I came across this video. I’m now on course 4 and just needed that extra motivation to finish it. Thank you!
Very very true! Very much agree with this!
well put!
Thanks for this video! I’m working on their newer certificates and the info about the portfolio in addition to the certificate is something that I’ve been thinking about. For anyone going the financial aid route, there are questions that Coursera asks about your situation and there was a two week waiting period, but I was approved!
Awesome to hear about the approval for financial aid! Congrats on this!
You're on the right track with this certificate! Keep up the hard work in your studies!!
On the same page too. I hold a master degree in international affairs and I speak 3 languages. I could not find a job. All jobs that I want to apply they required experience, how I will gain experience if no one gave me a chance, anyway I got stressed out, so I tried to change the field. Good luck to you!!

Interesting, all of these individuals here were looking to get Entry-level Data Analyst positions.

Is there any job guarntee after giving one year on this course?
I’m going through a massive career shift. Going from Education into the Data analytics field is a major change. I had a minor in Marketing and truly found all the mini projects throughout the courses the most enjoyable. Finding, analyzing, and fixing problems were arguably my most enjoyed moments. Thus, this made the most sense when I decided to shift careers. I’m still very nervous about this undertaking and it not working out when it’s all over.
I just finished Course 2 in less than a month and I’m hoping I’m not rushing it or making the wrong choice.
How's everything going? Did you finish? Did you find a job?
What a great content Luke!!! I'm starting on my way to DA and almost every video es full of information!! Thanks!
Google cert is really helping me with this
This is awesome to hear how you're using this in business analytics!
I appreciate how the video is organized so well and the content in general! Thank you for this!
Luke! Transitioning from Machinist to (hopefully) a Data Analyst. Your content has been by far the most helpful. Thank you!
This is awesome to hear Wayne! Good luck with the transition!
I def like to nerd out... 🤣
This is awesome to hear, congrats on the job and thanks for sharing this perspective. We need more bosses like this in the world!
Wow! Phenomenal video. Was researching this topic and this was extremely helpful!
Heck yeah, thanks so much Shane!!

Good Luck Shaun, you got this!

I did the Google certificate in 3 weeks (I had a lot of time to do it and my wife was 9 months pregnant so I had a deadline too!) Worth it as a starting point! My suggestion is, once you finish, go learn python. To me, it has been the most important and eye opening tool. Glad it was helpful, Susan!! And thanks for staying to the end!
Very true option to audit the course and get it for free!! Thanks for sharing this! 🙌🏼
through this option, we won't be able to get the certificate right?
very well made Luke!!! thanks for making this video
Glad you liked it, Famela!!
Thanks for sharing your experience with this Ankita!!!
Am currently taking data science with python on data camp
I completed it in two weeks, but I already knew most of the material, so just skipped most videos and took back-to-back tests. (Except for the R sections, which I didn't know and had to learn.) Just graduated from college in December and have only been job hunting for a month now, so time will tell if it was worth it.
Graduated college for data analyst or something else and do you mean from Google certifications or an actual college/university?
You deserve more views! This video was very interesting, well organized and straight to the point. Loved it!
Aww thank you!!
I think my degree should help me
I think your degree will help in addition to this certificate. Keep up the hard work with the certificate! You got this!

I actually started this course because of your videos/channel! Thank you so much!
Heck yeah! Awesome to hear that Joao, ope this course is going well for you!
Thanks for this perspective Cesar

It’s true I’m almost done with it. It’ll teach you the skills but you have to put it together. You’ll almost 100% need a project and be able to explain it to the prospective employer. They want to know you can understand the work you’re doing to do the job.
Thanks for sharing and reaffriming this Christopher! This is great to hear of your progress!
I really enjoy your videos because you not only look at data but also the personal experiences of data analysts out there
Aw thank you so much for noticing this!!
Thanks for sharing this perspective; It's a tough job market right now but it is good to hear that others are not alone in this!

I'm going to have to check out this SQLBolt, thanks for sharing this
Great video. Very informative. Thanks. Currently taking the course.
Thanks a lot for this very informative video, Luke. I've been thinking about starting this course and attaining the certificate and after watching this video more of my questions have been answered..
So glad this could help answer your questions!
I wanted to say I find a lot of value in all of your videos and your a great person I watch thank you for your help
I appreciate this!
Thank you for creating a real video about Google Career Certificates.
Thanks Luke. I've been on the fence about this programme for a while.
WEll I hope this helped!
03:28 I like how you snippeted the interview and introduced / gave context for what they were abohut to say 🤛
I really appreciate your insight and others on this certificate. At first I thought I was doing unnecessary studying on the side, but I am just adding on to the knowledge that I know now. I'm willing to learn it all just to get my foot in the door. Thank you!
Awesome to hear this; keep up the hard work with your studies!!
I’m currently enrolled in this course, I work as SAP Consultant but I find really interesting working with data, I don’t know where this will take me but I’m doing it just for fun.
Thank you, Luke, for all you do for us!
This really helps. On to the point and clear explanation. Thank you much.
Heck yeah, glad this was helpful, Danny!
I'm in Course 4 in the Google Data Analytics Certificate . I'm seriously in love with Data ANALYTICS
Heck yeah! Good luck with finishing up the certificate!
Former Desktop support, now Technical Recruiter. Starting the Google DA cert as we speak, i'm considering a pivot into Data Analytics or programming (OR BOTH). Thanks Luke, love your channel bro.
My dude! Appreciate the kind words and support. Good luck with the Google cert!!
Thank you Luke! I am taking this course right now, currentky jobless. Your advice had made me realize I should do more than earning this certificate. Thankyou so much for putting this out.
You got this Myla!
Hi, Did you got a job after finishing?
I’m taking it right now (I got a free access through my library) :) So inspired by this!
Thats awesome about the access through your library! Good luck in completing it!!
You got this! 🙌🏼
Big Ken Jee fan and I had to come subscribe!!
No idea why I haven't subbed to your channel earlier but great video Luke!
Well i'm glad you subbed! Love me some Ken Jee as well!
Great video, I feel like i´m taking too much time to finish mine, i´m starting course 5 now, 3 months in, but my plan is to finish the course by the end of this month and start the sql and python courses that i already have saved. But I plan to start doing more projects and looking for junior positions rigth after i finish the google certificate
Almost completed my certificate before being offered another job in IT, definitely going to be continuing to pursue data analytics as a hobby/side project for my future though 👌
Best of luck, Joe! Very much similarities between IT and analytics
