6 years ago my ex boss, asked us for a person who knows SQL, I didn't but I hand up (I tough that SQL was like Java)... so, I got the job as a data analytics, and learned SQL on youtube. :v
Hi there, Mostly 70-80% of the companies don't verify degree. Most of the big names companies does that. So I just listed on my resume that I had a degree in BA and all in some small company and got accepted and build it from there. And here I am landed the job. I mean like it's still could be illegal thing to do but not on macro extent. Just to get through the interview. Don't wannabe left behind with those social norms of having a degree and all that when you are actually good.Degree should not be a barrier stopping you. Kachao 😉
Same here that happened to me. I also didn't have any college degree. I started out as an entry level operations specialist where I had the time to look into one of Uber's learning programs specifically SQL. After finishing the SQL learning program, I began creating my own queries and got promoted as a junior data analyst. Then other opportunities came and then I landed more higher job positions. Now I'm the head of data analytics for an ecommerce company.
I am female with no degree literally working on this right now. Fingers crossed I get the written offer this week!! From convent, to retail, to office management, to SAHM, to analyst…. My common thread through it all was to be simply ready. 😂
I have truly learned a lot from you both, I am working presently as a security guard but I am seeking an opportunity to venture into data analytics and data science, and I just finished learning how to learn and am so excited we crossed paths @alex and @luke 😊
I think people can! Don’t get me wrong, going the self-learning route is a grind, but if you’re consistently learning new concepts, practicing, and applying what you’ve learned to tangible projects, you’ve got a great shot.
I am a Data Scientist without a degree (I didn't even finish High School). However, I can't share any secret tips since honestly I was just very lucky. The first company I applied for found me very charming and hired me the same day. After that, it just snowballed. Employers seem to love experience over a degree. I have to admit I was and still am very passionate about DS and expressed it heavily in all my interviews. The recruiters love it.
This is very inspiring! I also dropped out of high school and I'm very conflicted on what I should do but I have always been drawn to computers so Data Scientist or Data Analyst feels like a potential future for me. Did you learn everything by yourself or did you take any certification courses?
@@ShadowMentor I learnt everything myself. I’ve tried some courses but they’re all so boring that I just can’t tolerate them. I’ve learnt everything by having an idea and then figuring out to how to achieve it. The struggle seems to cement the knowledge rather well. If you love data then go for it.
Im currently building my data and tech skills as I aspire to become a Data Analyst. I strongly believe as long as one has the passion and goal, nothing is impossible. Like Jordon, i find every possible ways to showcase my dashboard skills with initiative at work. This video is inspirational for someone with no degree. Thanks Luke!
So I had a similar thing happen to me.. I had no education horrible school grades and I just turned thirty had a kid and was feeling the pressure of needing a career so long story short, Started writing code in 2016 then landed a job in 2019 worked full stack for 3 years, got a new job as a consultant got hired by a major tech company to data analysis knew nothing about it but just told them yeah I can do it... but confidence was the key and understanding the logic of things helped the most. In essence I would say get the basics of Excel then choose a BI like powerBI or Qlik and just start creating what ever you can then slowly bring in a data base for example SQL or PostgreSQL, and I guess python. I already learned other languages like JS so I use those. Anyway the take away is that you don't need college its all AMBITION and DRIVE!! seriously you can do it just go for it!!!
Thanks for sharing your success story, Richard! 🙌🏼 Super inspiring and just goes to show with a little work and determination you can make it; I appreciate this!
I’m a female BI Analyst and while I do have a bachelor’s degree, it is not directly related to what I do. My degree is in Finance and I was hired on as a financial analyst that turned out to have a lot of data analyst’s duties. I got the job with help from one SQL class I took during my undergrad and fell in love with data/BI analysis at that job. I honed my SQL, excel, and database skills, and started a master’s program in data analytics to better align my education with my career.
Currently work for a major freight company as a junior systems analyst with no degree or background in data. It is definitely possible! Great video Luke!
@@copiouscat I interviewed and did not get the job and asked my now manager what I needed to focus on learning to make sure I could become an option in the future, then followed up every couple of months after that until I was fortunate enough for them to take a chance one me. A bit of luck for sure!
Thank you for making this video. This really helped me feel like all the work I am currently doing to learn these skills will pay off in the end. Everyone loves an underdog.
This was really helpfull. I'm training myself to become a data analyst and I am one of those with no college degree but lost of work experience in the tech industry. fingers crossed and hopes held high!
It’s DEFINITELY POSSIBLE!! I have a degree but NOT totally related to analytics nor anything tech ( mass communications during early 2000s). I was super ‘technophobic’ during that time. I’ve been working in data analysis & digital marketing since 2015.
@@oumaouma3672 well I did a LOT of online courses, plus I also did some online / remote volunteering for non profits. I also had marketing background so it helped me get my foot in the door.
@@frederickzoreta6617hi Frederick, what kind of courses did you attend? I am now doing the FCC course for data analysis and I hope it is complete. Also, what kind of role did you offer as a volunteer? I was thinking about volunteering too but have no idea where to start from. Data in hospitals? Or which kind of non profit? Sorry for all the questions, I hate my job right now and I would like to accelerate the change of my job ASAP😢
I'm sort of giving up looking for a job for a while. Now I'm enrolled in AWS/restart to enhance my current sets of skills with some cloud stuffs. Other than degrees or no degrees I think age matters a lot too. I was once scheduled for an interview, but then it was suddenly cancelled because I was too old.
I'm a career paramedic who burnt out after working in the war in Ukraine - I realized I really needed a new career, and I really love my family and life at home. Data Analytics really fit my personality, lifestyle, and thinking pattern, but I really had no idea how to transition into this field at 35 with bad math skills. Honestly Luke you make it really easy, not only with shout outs to others in the field that I've learned from, but also with these really interesting and well thought out videos. Your work has educated me and also given me so many insights and motivation. It's also really clever to see that they're all answering data driven questions, are well made, and get straight to the point, but don't feel like a tutorial - instead like mini documentaries (except they're funny and entertaining). Really gives me insight into your work and your way of approaching life, and it's a great example to follow. Anyways this salty tactical medic is retired and I'm currently on track to be a full data nerd and job ready in about 3 months, wish me the best! I'll be posting updates along the way, and I really hope one day I can have a chat with you Luke! All the best.
Heck yeah!! This is awesome to hear, good luck as you start applying, i'd recommend start sooner than later; you are probably more ready than you think!
This video motivates me to whole another level..cuz i am from finance background but learnt data skills by using excel extensively in my pvs job and had instinct of me becoming data analyst and started learning sql and tableau..but not sure if i will ever land job in data analysis field however this video is making me believe i can push myself more to get into it. Thanks Luke!
Love love love this video, Luke! 🤩Can't believe how much work it must take to put this all this together so well!! AND for a second I seriously thought Alex sponsored this video 🤣🤣
Not from the US but I'm gonna share my story. I studied Accounting and Finance for 3 years but did not complete my bachelor. Then I got hired by Accenture thanks to my language skills. In this job I slowly learned Power BI and some soft skills like people and Client management (I was promoted to Team Lead). Our Project ended and I was looking for a new job, possibly in Data analytics. I learned SQL in 1 week (thanks to Mike Dane, but I had minor coding experience from before) and started applying for jobs. A couple of employers said that they preffered a degree but others did not care at all. Ultimately I got hired by a consulting company as a BI consultant junior.
I am a 19 year old girl that is studying Data Analytics through the google certificate and other certificates hoping to land a job and start my career without a degree. Once I make it, I can tell you about my story.
I'm a student in DS, 4 months so far of it (3yrs of engineering university studies like 10yrs ago). I find this video's so inspiring. Haven't land a job yet but soon I'll be done with dB and PostgreSQL course to start reaching out those recruiters out there. Thank you Luke! I'll let you know when I get that job 😆
Coursera has two new specializations in the data analytics certification. Looks interesting, they have a finance and public service specialization. I think the finance specialization will help with financial analyst roles and BI roles.
You don't know how much I needed this video. I have a degree and even Google Data Analytics certificate but I've been struggling to land my fisrt job as Data Analyst, I think that is due to my lack of experience. I hope to get my first job soon. Thank you.
I'm in a similar boat - former elementary school teacher here with my Masters degree in Literacy. Before the 22-23 school year, I decided to leave the field of education and my dad got me into using Power BI. So far, I'm just under 3 months into my learning and getting prepared to take the PL-300 in the next coming weeks. Hoping that getting my certification demonstrates to potential clients and/or employers that I am dedicated!
I have a degree that has nothing to do with CS or IT whatsoever and after consistently posting my accomplishments and milestones on LinkedIn from all the coursera and udemy courses I'm taking I was able to land an interview for a BI analyst position. This was out of nowhere too, a recruiter found my page and saw me regularly posting, I didn't even finish my Google Data Analytics certificate at the time she contacted me. I'm currently going into the second round of interviews so its too early to say if I get the job or not but I will say that the hiring manager (who is also the CIO of the company) really appreciated my enthusiasm and willingness to learn topics like SQL and data visualization with Tableau. He was impressed that Im putting in the hard work and even attending in-person conferences to make up for not having a CS or IT degree. My second interview should be around two weeks from now so I'm hoping for the best!
I am now a certified junior data analyst. I learned a lot from you and Alex, I am grateful to both of you. Especially for encouraging me because of my age. Really thank you so much for these great tutorial, advice and much more..🖖🤛
@@LukeBarousse You don't always know how your actions affect the lives of others. Thanks Luke for mentoring me at almost no cost. I can do almost all data analysis processes in Excel without any problems. Because I have been using it for many years. Now it's time to sharpen my R skill as it's easier. If you want to take a look, my first project (case study) is here. And any suggestions or criticism would be greatly appreciated. ( kaggle - burayamail -gdacp-cs-1 )
Thank you for making this video. I am currently using a website to learn data analytics but I have not degree, so this video really helped motivate me to keep going. I am super excited to read and see other people making it in the data science space ❤
This should be less about being college degree versus no college degree, but rather about whether you have something to prove your capability or not. As interviewees made it clear, they did go through difficulties without college degrees. Let's not look away from it and accept it as it is. But it is not impossible to land a data job without a degree IF, you can showcase something that can make up for not having a degree. 1:43 This guy was in the military for 6 years, this 2:00 guy actually some work experience, and 2:06 took the chance to study computer science in a that is not in his native language, English, AND took time to complete Goolge Data Analytics Certificate. The bottom line is, if you already have a college degree, great. You are less likely to be filtered out from the get go. So, spare the rest of your time to really work on a project and archive it well to be able to show it to your prospective employer. If you don't have a college degree, be aware that you may be rejected from the beginning. But don't let that reality become an excuse for you to not try. Keep track of all of your activities related to data science, until you encounter an employer who will appreciate your work thus far.
Thank you so much for your excellent video. It helps me to put my mind together and focus on my goal. I'm an Iranian who lives in Germany and I'm very good at learning by myself. So, I decided to become a data analyst. I enrolled a data science course on Coursera and I'm learning it. I'm super excited about it and I will let you know as soon as I get the job.
I was given a shot as an Assistant Analyst 18 months ago because of my demonstrated Excel skills in a different role in another department with my company. I was told I needed to learn SQL and Power BI for the role. I immersed myself in SQL, Power Query, Power Pivot, & Power BI and have surpassed everyone in my department in knowledge and skills. The person who hired me has since left the company for greener pastures and I was told by the new management there are no opportunities for advancement unless someone leaves the company and I get a degree. Now I find myself looking for opportunities elsewhere and the lack of a degree has kept a lot of doors closed. The people I work with all have degrees, but their skills are obsolete. They want to stick with Excel and they want me to dumb down my work because they are unable to troubleshoot "if" they get an error. I got a lot of great tips from this video and it gives me hope. 😃UA-cam & LinkedIn Learning have been my go to resources and I use Notion to keep notes on all the videos that have given me breakthroughs and have built my own quick reference library.
Yeah, I resonate with you a lot on this one Joel; i've been on teams where everyone wanted to just stick with the tool they know vice using a better tool because they didn't want to invest the time to learn said tool. Keep up the self-development, it's going to pay off!!
Maybe I'll comment later on, but I'm currently taking the Google Data Analytics certification thanks to you and Alex the analyst. BUT, there might be some opportunities opening up because of the networking I'm doing with some friends in the field. One who actually doesn't have a degree related to data.
Recently enrolled for the Google Data Analytics Certification. How do you find it. Did it help? I seriously want to dive into analytics but need some encouragement.
@@vitalislokol478 i'm barely finishing up the first section. But so far it's been way more interesting than I expected. I'm barely starting with Google Sheets right now in the course but it's interesting all the different small exercises they're using so you get familiar with everything. I would recommend that you audit the course and see if you enjoy the lectures. Definitely keep going! If it doesn't work out for the field of data analytics, a lot of these skills are still very sought after by employers, especially Excel and SQL.
Great content as always! I am doing a PhD in Political Science and I got really interested in coding when I first used Stata (I know it is not R or Python but I will hopefully get there). I want to get more data analysis/science skills but I do not have a CS degree.
@@divofoster8226 thank you for the recommendation! I did look into it before and will commit more once I am closer of completing my PhD, otherwise there will be time issues (they are there already haha). I guess you have done the course?
I got a degree in business admin. And found out I enjoy analyzing data and just got a job as a supply chain analyist. The company only uses excel at the moment but I am going to change that as I learn sql and otuer programs.
I have an undergraduate degree but it's Marketing & Sales related, and I had 10+ years of experience in that field as Product Manager and Sales Manager, but given I was lacking data to make decisions I had to make my own dashboards which eventually led the company to create a full-time BI position for me 4 years ago and I finally enjoy what I do for a living. In my case, Power Query in Excel was my entry point to know the basics for more serious data analysis with Powerbi, SQL, Python and R and studying a degree in Applied Data Science for 2 years now. Great video btw!
I have a degree in Literature, and I work Brazilian government for almost 20 years, where the job I was hired for was processing/analysing retirement applications for Social Security. I used to complain a lot about the systems that we have to use, and about 10 years ago they invited me to the national headquarters to test a new system, find bugs and suggest improvements. They liked what I did, and then I've gotten a few management positions in the last 8-9 years, always related to corporate systems. Right now, I'm a data analyst more than anything, and no one ever asked me for a degree. I don't know everything I need for my job, but whatever it is, I became really good at learning it fast.
I suppose it all boils down to a person's enthusiasm because anything is possible nowadays with a little assistance from the internet. There are people who have taught themselves complex skills solely on the basis of interest and internet references.
Thank you very much for this video! I am a computer science student/ aspiring data analyst that comes from a logistics background, and I’m trying to get my foot in the door in the analytics field! This definitely brought my hopes up a lot! 🙌🏻🙌🏻💪🏻
I have a PhD in education, basically, I'm an EdTech. But I have the best and strong feelings about Data Analytics, it's like a vocational endeavor. I just want to travel this new path, no matter what it demands me. I feel like starting my life again. Thanks a lot for being a so good guide for us, simple mortals.
Here is my story, drop out the last year. Have a MS certificate. I applied on jobs, I failed the interviews, tests, pre-screening tests. And now I ran out of protentional employers because there isn't any unless I re-allocate. RIP. If anyone reached out to me, it was a scam. Not a chance, once in a blue moon I would get even get an interview.
Invent your position. Find a pressing need that you can fulfill. Then create the several solutions that a decision maker needs. Then it is all up to your sales ability.
I really love this video ! so inspire! Thanks Luke! your video always have a different point of view! always deep down to people heart ! Always give people Hope!
I'm half way through the google program now and am on pace to finish early-November. I've already updated my LinkedIn and resume to that of a Jr Data Analyst and hope to start building my portfolio next week so I can start reaching out to recruiters. I found a local networking group on meetup and am building LinkedIn connections (especially other women) that I can reach out to. I'm taking a fake it till you make it/it's about who you know approach and hope I have enough key words in my resume and confidence to get me in the door. I've been a nanny and household manager the last 15 years and have never held a corporate job, or even a desk job before so I don't anticipate this being an easy process.
Love the passion and how you are doing all these great things to improve your chances of landing a job; You're on the right path, keep up the positivity! 💪
@@ShadowMentor I did finish the program, but never pursued employment as a data analyst. While I was doing the google program I was going through IVF and was at a part-time job for their fertility benefits. I finally got pregnant in January and stayed on at that employer because I met my insurance deductible and those medical cost savings were greater than the income I'd make leaving. Not to mention how difficult it would have been finding a job that would hire me visibly pregnant and getting time off for the crazy amounts of appointments required during a high risk pregnancy. I'm currently staying home and enjoying my kids and assessing what the best next steps are for our family. In all likelihood I'm looking for part-time and it's unlikely I'll find data analysis positions that will fit my desired hours and available childcare.
I would say it's possible but you have to be willing to put in a lot of hours on a project portfolio if you are applying externally for a role. The easier route is doing an internal transfer inside a company especially after looking at the comments.
This is me right now too. I don’t have a bachelors degree and I always feel major impostor syndrome when talking to my peers. Right now I work as a Risk Analyst that helps my company make business decisions through data. Not gonna lie, sometimes I feel pressured to get a degree so I don’t have to go through those rejections.
I’m in school and working full time, I also finished the Google data analytics certification , now just working on my project portfolio. My goal is to get a job as an analyst before I graduate lol
Hi Luke, Thanks for sharing this video. I hold a masters degree in computer science (6 years back) and completed Google data analytics certification last year in June. I have been applying for entry level jobs since 6 months but haven't gotten any yet 😐 I believe I am proficient in Advance MS Excel, SQL, Tableau visualizations. Currently working on Power BI data analyst(PL 300) certification course. I wish I could share my success story one day.
This is very inspiring... Having just completed the DeepLearning Specialization and TensorFlow Developer Certification courses on Coursera, this is just the video I need to motivate me towards applying for jobs. Thank you, Luke.
Currently learning SQL on udemy, have knowledge in excel and just enrolled at WGU for Data Analytics, will definitely use the “currently enrolled” in my resumes as well as creating a portfolio 👍🏽
nah, bro, that dude who couldn't find data analyst content in his native language took the whole dang cake. not only learning data analysis stuff but learning English at the same time? that blows my mind entirely. there are NO excuses; time to stop whining and get it done.
Im a electronics technician not an engeenier and actually got a job as a data analyst in an engeneering team without experience on data analytics, they hired me because of my knowledge in electrical and electronics equipment. Right now i dont have to extract the data just analyze it, but im trying to learn how to extract it and put it in a visual form so that i can grow in this field because i really like it, maybe in the future work as a free lancer hoping that i can get good expirience in my job, i work for an outsourcing for Intel so i have a good access to their data, is a really good job actually.
I have no college degree and i got a data analyst job for a remote e-commerce company 7 months ago with only the google certifications and a little bit of knowledge of excel.
Awesome video, did I hear that right? Wow! Sergio only knew SQL and excel when he landed the 6 month contract at Alegeus? For those with no degree, I’m curious if knowing a programming language like Python or R and a visualization tool would help even more?
I LOVE Tableau! Working in tableau is my ideal career. But every job posting I look at, they all want that experience. most of it is three years and up with a sprinkle of one year here and there. I’m coming from a salesforce administrator background and I really haven’t figured out how to make that jump yet.
A little bit late to the show, but thanks for the video! I feel like I'm somewhere in between the two profiles of either having a B.A. in a related field and having no degree at all. I got my BA in English and Spanish (double major), was going to be a teacher, then got my Master's in Spanish, still on the teacher path, but am now doing the Google certificate and hoping to pivot into data analytics. As I'm working on this career change, I constantly wonder, is my English/Spanish BA, plus that MA put me on the same level as having no degree in the eyes of recruiters? Of course there are soft skills and all, plus bilingual, I could lean on, but I do feel insecure about not having a degree that meshes well with data analytics. Thanks again for the video! It helps me feel like it IS in fact possible!
i am junior data analyst, working with sql qnd visuql studio and a bit of excel , i know i am in the beginning of my carrier in the age of 30 , i was a chef before that , i didnt regret it at all looking forward to grow, my biggest issue is that i am working in italy with italian which a bit hard language wise, but since ill get an english spoken job i will definitely give 1000 percent
I feel like if you don't know someone at the company and you don't have a Bachelor's degree, your resume won't get in front of a hiring manager. I've had no luck of moving on from the ETL position I'm in right now. The degree I got is comparable to an Associates but it was from the now defunct Vatterott. I've been ghosted by every recruiter I've talked to after the first phone call.
Worked for a Social Housing provider as a data analyst, not for a Pharma multinational as a Data/Business analyst with no degree. I do have a decent amount of non-data related tech and technical writing professional experience, but mostly did a ton of learning and reasonable project work on my own.
You can do anything without a degree, however a degree definitely helps, specially if the degree and the data you are analysing are in the same field..
first i start with medicine, i dont like it, so i start been a entrepeauer, from there i pass to study busissnes administration and a flash came to my brine. technology and business is the future that i want. MY RODE MAP: -html y css -basic java -programming fundamentals. -i think first that i want to be a full stack developer, then i decide for the analytics and start a course of data analytcis. -EXCEL - SQL y POWER BI. -practice my intervious. -1 year of studing data analytics, i land my first job.
So, the hardest thing aside from actually knowing the material, is to get your foot in the door. I feel like once you’re in a role that can be spun to be a data analyst experience, then you’re set. Finding that first job might be the hardest part though
I don't have a degree, didn't work in IT, I just spent the last two years learning about data (maternity leave). I have a Google certificate and I am currently in the middle of a three months Data course. I will start working as a BI analyst from November :)

@@LukeBarousse I've been studying for a career switch from shady marketing freelancing and was getting worried about how viable not having a degree is.

Analyst, yeah - Scientist, nah. Orgs are also starting to see that 1) degrees don't actually give the skills people need on the job, and 2) degree requirements are anti-equity; they are therefore increasingly removing that degree requirement auto-screen. The exception is if you are trying to immigrate for the job, accredited degrees are required pretty universally.
You can always become a data analyst with no degree but getting hired like that is a different story go on indeed and see if you can get higher because they all require bachelors
Hi Luke! I love this video. I have a bachelor's degree in Microbiology and it has been difficult getting a data analytics related job, but I'm currently pursuing my postgraduate diploma in computer science. I enrolled back to school because of the all rejection that I was getting. Maybe I should have just opted for the coursera course instead. It was so bad that I couldn't even get an internship 😔.
Well I don't think the Computer Science degree will go to waste; it's a great postgrad to have and can help with leveling up as you progress in your career in data science! Good luck with the degree!
Not from the US but from Asia (not china LOL). In my country, applicants have to go through coding interviews and live coding sessions with the hiring manager to land the job. It will be difficult to pass these tests if you don't have much knowledge in the programming language. Hiring managers are also not looking at someone who is willing to learn on the job but someone who already has the skills and can get up to speed as soon as he/she joins the company. I recently had a coding test for a data science role I applied for. I was tested on algorithm questions. Was told the test for SWE and DS are the same. WHY?!? T.T

Thanks for allowing my beautiful face to be shown to all of these wonderful people.
It was an honor to work with you Luke!
Alex, thanks so much for being interviewed; Loved getting to share your story my dude! 🤙🏼
Keep up he hard work!!
Heck yeah, thanks for sharing this, it's motivating to hear these types of success stories!

Sorry to hear this Sy 😞
Awesome video Luke! I know these take a lot of time to put together, but they’re a great insight to the different people in the industry.
Thanks so much for being interviewed, Jordan! The data nerds are gonna appreciate your experience!

Thanks for sharing this story! Motivating to hear how you built up the skills, avoided the naysayers, and landed a job!
Fingers crossed, this happens to me!
I am a 19 year old girl that is studying Data Analytics through the google certificate and other certificates hoping to land a job and start my career without a degree. Once I make it, I can tell you about my story.

Coursera has two new specializations in the data analytics certification. Looks interesting, they have a finance and public service specialization. I think the finance specialization will help with financial analyst roles and BI roles.
Yeah these specializations look interesting; I plan to research them more.

Heck yeah; keep up the hard work and good luck with the PL-300 exam!

Good luck with the journey! You got this!
I like this! Thanks for taking the time to share this perspective on no degree!
Thank you so much for your excellent video. It helps me to put my mind together and focus on my goal. I'm an Iranian who lives in Germany and I'm very good at learning by myself. This is of great help. Thanks, Luke!

In my case, Power Query in Excel was my entry point to know the basics for more serious data analysis with Powerbi, SQL, Python and R and

Hey how is it going did you land a job?
Yeah I can agree with this and hearing Jordan's experience!

Hey there, did you land a job as yet?
This is literally the question I was asking. Perfectly.
Heck yeah! Glad this could help!
@@LukeBarousse I've been studying for a career switch from shady marketing freelancing and was getting worried about how viable not having a degree is.
Personality, ambition and motivation.
I am a GP, and pursuing my career as Data analyst now.
my man Luke! I missed you.. and your flannel :D
I'm back!
That edit of alex on the wall at 10:08 😆😆
🤣
I needed to answer a question. I got good at answering questions with whatever was available...by just googling it. Found out that Sheets is generally the best tool to use for most questions.
I just have a HVAC technician certification.
I've heard that you are a freak in the sheets, Alex!!! 🙌🏼 ... spreadsheets that is... 😳
@@LukeBarousse oh I know my way around a vlookup, index(match, AND a pivot table
I don’t have a degree in data analytics, but I have a degree in computer science in an unrelated field.
What’s a realistic time frame for a project showing sql, R and tableau
It really depends on the time invested to learn the tools and how in depth you learn it... could be anywhere from a month to way longer...
@@LukeBarousse which field do you think is easier to break into with no degree but a proven portfolio. Analyst Roles or web developers?
I have a degree in a different field, but I would like to dip my foot into Data Analytics. Any tips?
This was so helpful!
Awesome video
@@LukeBarousse Hopefully, it will help. I have learnt quite alot.
WHY?!? T.T
Yeah thats unfortunate about these coding "tests", I don't feel like they truly show one's potential
Love your videos
