Looking at life through the eyes of a tire hub
Eating seeds as a pastime activity
The toxicity of our city, our city
You, what do you own the world?
How do you own disorder? Disorder
Now somewhere between the sacred silence
Sacred silence and sleep
Somewhere, between the sacred silence and sleep
Disorder, disorder, disorder
More wood for their fires, loud neighbors
Flashlight reveries caught in the headlights of a truck
Eating seeds as a pastime activity
The toxicity of our city, of our city
You, what do you own the world?
How do you own disorder? Disorder
Now somewhere between the sacred silence
Sacred silence and sleep
Somewhere between the sacred silence and sleep
Disorder, disorder, disorder
You, what do you own the world?
How do you own disorder?
Now somewhere between the sacred silence
Sacred silence and sleep
Somewhere, between the sacred silence and sleep
Disorder, disorder, disorder
When I became the sun
I shone life into the man's hearts
When I became the sun
I shone life into the man's hearts

jojo: "oh this is pretty calm, i thought it would..."
me: "wait for it....wait for it..." lol
Im always doing this too lol
I've never laughed so hard to a reaction 😭
Jojo falls for it every time! 🤣
I've been ruined by noticing reactors that react to surprising parts of songs as if they know its about to happen
same
The real question is what time wouldn't we play a song like this! 😂
Maybe a baby's sleeping the next room, maybe then. 😊
@@backtothefact That's what they get to sleep to around here 😂
There's never a bad time for this song. (I mean.. there is.. but you know what I mean)
Agreed, but for him being someone who doesn’t know I thought it was an interesting question.
True that!! 🤣🤘
They are Armenian and they grew up in California. A lot of their music has references towards the destruction of war because of the experiences they had before coming to America. I love their song "Chop Suey" but they have a lot of strong and meaningful songs.
Armenian American
Well for "war" the solo song of serj Tankian "empty walls" is very strong! I'm no fan of SOAD but a really like serj tankian the same with slipknot and "stone sour"!
I totally agree! "BYOB" is super strong...
I think "Spiders", "the prison song", and "psycho" are my favorites
Thank you
No they Armenian
Yeah, most metal heads just listen to it whenever. Showering, driving, exercising, chilling, playing video games, reading books. We're just used to it, this is our normal level of musical energy, pretty much.
I was with you until you brought up the books
@@monkeyboy275bobo8 Guess I'm more of a metalhead than you XD
@@zackmarkham4240 Maybe i just cant read? 🤔
@@monkeyboy275bobo8 maybe
Straight facts. Whenever the song matches the mood, vibe, atmosphere, or just sounds appealing at the time. It usually just depends. But SOAD just fits somehow. It's crazy
"What occasion do you listen to this?"
Occasion? Driving to work, cleaning the house, hanging out... literally any time. I have a tendency to listen to extreme metal (which gets far more aggressive and heavy than this), and I will bake cookies as I do so. You get into it just like any other style of music and it becomes a comfort.
Lol me too!! My neighbors are listening too(forced but hey...maybe they need some of MY music in THEIR life and they just dont know it yet😄)
You are absolutely spot on with it becomes a comfort, I constantly fall asleep to things way harder than this. It's relaxing
Once again proving that rock and metal heads are nice people despite all of our hard exteriors. There is nothing like being in the pit or on the wall of one and picking people up, dusting them off and asking if they wana go again.
Me too! 🤣
@@DeltaFox19 Ah! the memories! Remember being at parties, concerts and clubs dancing a moshing to get caught up by some random person and asked if I was ok. I've always been a tiny woman so people tend to worry about me on those occasions. It's fun and liberating.
Sry for my english and ty for bringing back those memories.
The early 2000s were a scary time, also a very aggressive time in music. You still hear some of that attitude in heavy metal and hard rock today, but it's calmed down a bit.
That’s true, it was the same for the 90’s with limp bizkit and rage against the machine (who I believe was a very popular band during the Rodney King riots in 1992)
Thankfully Rage Against The Machine is going back on tour and maybe new album
St. Anger comes to mind. Shitty quality and really non Metallica-like? Yes, but that's when bands wanted to reinvent themselves.
Gotta enter the cores and the extreme genres for that aggressive shit.
The bigger bands have calmed down but the rise of Lorna shore and slaughter to prevail I'd argue music is getting angrier
I used to blast that album in my car, windows down, literally at all times 🤣🤘🏼
(And that song is chill compared to most of that album lol)
Yes! Great road-trip music
Hell I still do blast
For ppl who are not used of Heavy Metal its not chilled. For me it is. Many Girls or Women wouldn't like it. I just hear it when i am in Mood or working....but you can hear it to wake up, running or just to get your Anger out or singing along..its so great to Listen. Love that. And Nightwish..!
Yes, actually, as a fan, I do listen to it while casually going to work :D
In the early 2000s it was something all the youth adored here in Eastern Europe. Most of the people didn't have the Internet at home yet, so there was no way to download music (in Moldova it was even hard to find and buy). So Radio, TV and clubs were the only options to hear SOAD. And it was randomly turned on at ALL the casual parties and in the nightclubs where people came to dance. And everyone would suddenly unite despite their music tastes and go crazy for it. I mean, I saw the blonde cheerleader type of girls jumping and screaming like they lived for this song. Like a ton of anger and frustration suddenly found a way out.
Thank you for sharing this, music is such a powerful force.
This is soooo true. Miss those days
I drove my 14 year old daughter to school listening to this album. Great music to listen to on a Monday morning to get you ready for the week !
My late husband's loyalties were divided between Tool and SOAD. He would listen to SOAD on his way to work at the medical school every morning at 6.30. I played the album this came from for him on his last day.
The craziest thing is his voice sounds just like that live 🤯 saw them lat a festival in 2003 :)
not anymore :(
@@clipsedrag13 haha, prob not a good idea to use your vocal chords like that for 20+ years
Great great great in concert!!!
@@clipsedrag13 wth? I saw them in in 2016 and their voices were impeccable
@@antvd888 Actually his vocals are really clean and the distortion sounds healthy (in all there top songs) so unless he was doing way worse in earlier albums or since this, his voice shouldn't be that bad.
I remember actually seeing this on MTV. How times have changed.
SOAD is another band worth "going down the rabbit hole." And no, they don't really do "calm." Really the only song I can think of off the top of my head that is even close to "calm" would be "Aerials." Definitely a track worth checking out, along with Chop Suey," "B.Y.O.B.," "Lonely Day" (actually this one's kinda "calm" in that it has a very slow, melancholy vibe to it), "Hypnotize," "Question," "Lost in Hollywood," "Revenga" (might want a lyric sheet because this is one of hte most rapid-fire deliveries I've ever heard), "Cigaro" (surprisingly deep if you can make out the lyrics), "Old School Hollywood," "Shimmy," "Radio/Video," "Sad Statue," and "This Cocaine Makes me Feel Like I'm on this Song."
The lead singer, Serj Tankian, also did some solo work worth checking into. Give a listen to "Baby," "Lie Lie Lie," "Sky is Over" (really, really great song), "Saving Us," and "Empty Walls," which is another really great song.
Oh, and Serj is an Armenian-American, born in Beirut, Lebanon, so there is a bit of an accent there, yea.
Someone clearly never heard Roulette or Spiders
Also lonely day is calm and quite chill actually, so is soldier side.
@@RKaye87 Soldier Side is one of my all time favorites!!
@@RKaye87 I was gonna say Lonely Day and Soldier Side too, they're definitely more reserved.
lonely day is also pretty mellow
Man I love them!! I’ve been listening to them since the early 2000’s. I’m glad they still get the recognition they deserve.
S.O.A.D instantly takes me back to high school. Ages 13 - 18 I was obsessed with them.
they are so unique, talented and all round kick arse 🖤🤟
Dude, same here! I first heard them when I was 15 and was hooked since. Never stopped loving System, I get sad thinking that one day they will not be around. 😢
here too. I would burn S.O.A.D mix CDs & listen on the bus to/from school. Hypnotize was the first CD I ever bought.
I still get the same feelings overcoming me now just as they did when I first heard this 20 years ago. SOAD is brilliant.
I’m a truck driver and I listen to this while I’m driving. Although it’s not a very good song to listen to if you’re stuck in traffic 😂😂😂
As a music enthusiast and electronic music producer, Metal songs are typically played during workouts if played situationally, but its really just great for getting yourself pumped up in general. I also listen to dubstep for the same reason.
Fr fr. Walls of Jericho was my most frequently played exercise accompaniment when I used to run on the treadmill... I miss my old life. I mean, I've always been miserable, but at least then I was skinny and miserable.
Hi! So happy to hear you speak on their skills and musicality! Witnessing your enjoyment is priceless! To answer your question in regards to when I play this song...when I am getting ready to go out in the World to face the day, cleaning the house, when faced with a daunting task that makes me doubt my capability to handle it, etc. It gives me the energy to bust down my apprehension. 😊 Keep doing what you're doing. I'm herrrrre for it! 👏👏
I lived in an apartment on the second floor and I had a neighbor on the third floor, who played this very loud disco several times a day. Years later, I bought the cd, when this neighbor left the building.
Wait you bought the disco cd or Toxicity lol?...
@@zackmano lol, I must be very old... I bought the Compact Disc of all Album Toxicity, with all songs. :)
That drummer does crazy timing… what’s going on in his head to come up with that? Dude’s ghost notes on the snare during the verses is a nice touch too.
Yeah took me forever to figure this song out on the drums, especially the ghost snare
Dude, you are great to watch. You get so into the music, your whole body moving to it. Well spoken commentary, just a great job!
DUDEE as a person who loves metal and none of her friends do I LOVEDD your reaction. You passed the vibe check. People see, when we share our music this is the reaction we want.
"Controlled chaos" is a good way to describe the sound of SOaD.Most ppl at heavy metal/hardcore shows are decent ppl, though that can't be said for all.I have never had an issue w anyone at any shows, but then again I'm too old to jump into the pit.
You should look into: "Type o Negative: I don't wanna be me". The song is a blast & so is the official video!
Type O negative! Life is killing me
you have no idea how happy it makes me to see you full wig out to this. system is one of the best bands to exist.
youre gunna have so much fun with the rest of their songs baby 🥰🖤
Yooo bro this makes me so happy no cap watching you experience new genres
I'd listen to this when I'm traveling - bus, train, car, walking - or when I need cheered up. Banger! 🤘🔥 And you're right, it's too short!
You have the best reactions jo jo!
Can't wait to see LFR Jojo reacting to Scandinavian metal bands.
.....shudders....i love them but then they led me to the Finns......
I’m not sure he’s ready for Amon Amarth…
I laughed at your first question, and it was a good one! Lol
OMG I JUST LAUGHED SO HARD WHEN YOU JUMPED OUTTA YOUR SEAT 😂😂😂
If you liked that I highly recommend you to listen "Holy Mountains" from SoaD (or nearly everything else from the Hypnotize album).
Man I can't think of a better song to shake off the cobwebs on Monday morning, it gets you pumped and ready for anything.
Serj is Armenian but lived in L.A. most his life.
One of my fav bands ever 🔥🔥🔥
glad you are finding out what is so powerful in rock music just as i can appreciate dope bars and a sick beat rap provides
Yessir. Jammin this everyday
Oh yeah - you just nailed it: it’s a really good song! 🤘 no matter if you are into metal music or not! Fantastic reaction
I'll blast this for any occasion, although currently I'm listening to it(or more accurately your reaction because it caught my eye) to prep for bedtime.
Thank you for time stamps!!!
I had so much fun watching this reaction! LOL
Were slowly turning you into a metalhead, and im loving it!!!!!!
THIS IS PRETTY CALM 😂🤣😂 ... then BANG! They gotcha Jojo! . Awesome reaction yet again , best wishes man :)
Dude!
Damn you make me laugh...
Keep it coming.
Amazing job.
Cheers.
MS
I have listened to this on the way to work countless times man.
Definitely play this song on road trips and watch everybody go crazy singing along. It’s so much fun!
You crack me up...love you!
Your smile and your energy are infectious!!!
I'm so glad you are opening up to new bands, new sounds that maybe you haven't been introduced to before. Keep going. There are so many great bands out there.
been watching yu vids bro , man you changed in the last year . looks like i finally caught up on the viseos . lol . love your reactions dude , keep it up . system of a down has some really good songs . and some really weird ones , check out aerials , and the prison song . and byob . theyre great .
Awesome reaction🔥🔥🔥Try Chop Suey next!
Jojo: imagine having a party and this joint comes on.
Me: I don’t need to imagine.
Yep, on my way to work 6am this morning rocking this 🫡🤘🏼
"Do you get your Starbucks and listen to this on the way to work in the morning?"
Yes. Yes I do. I also belt along to it when dropping my kids off to school in my minivan, or when doing housework.
this music is good for the soul brother, I've been listening to metal since I was a kid and my love for this music grows stronger everyday
SoaD is something to listen to anytime... I loved listening to them at various jobs, driving, parties, chilling at home.
And they're all Armenian.
yeah i don't really get what he's asking.. i can't even count the number of people turning up their murder rap early morning
Love listening to it after a long shift and the store is closed. Organizing "go backs" and cleaning up the front. Helps me decompress if you will
Every time I hear a System of a Down song, it brings me back memories from my teenage years, the parties, the friends, the girls, the crazy shit happening... and this was the soundtrack...
I used to listen to the these songs while I ran out for feeling less stress and take out my anger. I also used to accelerate or slow down with the speed of the music and I was completely driven by it
Every moment on the day, during falling in sleep at night! Lmao.. Keep doin this srection video's bro!
Sos lo más grande que hay LFR Jojo!!
I turned it on yesterday and fell asleep to it like actually had a good night sleep listening to it
You are the best reaction actor i ever seen here's your crown bro 👑
Listen to this whenever. This music to people who like this genre (me) is our everyday listening, to wake up, cheer us up, exercise to etc
Mate, I listen to this at work 🤪 or in the shower. Love your reaction
Great reaction bud. Glad to see your genuine & positive energy. Lots if their lyrics are deep.
I could be wrong, but I think the 'seeds' are the youth/fresh ideas, and they're eaten up by the toxicity of the city.
The red in the headlights of a truck, could be blood & the truck being forced progress/industrialism. Things like that. Just my pov. :-)
Keep smiling lad. And keep broadening those horizons.
Many tease the U.S.A atm, but your hunger to learn & interpret in you own ways, speaks well of there.
That’s actually a really good question you asked about what occasion does someone listen to very heavy music like this.
I’ve always been into heavy, hard music. For me, as someone who’s been into it as long as I can remember (I’m 42), I can listen to really hard music at any time.
That being said, I listen to everything just like you do. So you’d be as likely to find me listening to Celine Dion, Ghostemane, Lil Wayne or Metallica.
Im working right now and listening to this, financial statements analysis
I love to listen to it while driving, cleaning, when I have a lot on my mind etc.It makes me less stressed. But to be fair when I was your age and started with this genre it was hard bcs I was not used to the sound of it. The more you hear it the more beautiful it is bcs you go pass the agressive sound of meal genre and can hear more melodies, lyrics etc. At first I never understood the words, had to search them to read it, etc. With time it get's easier. Not only with them but with most metal singers. This is my experience only, some people may not agree with me ofc.
I love your shock/disappointment that it was over - I agree, it could go for a few more minutes :) That's just when hit replay ;) Also, I can only listen to this song on a weekend ( well most of their music ) or I get too hyped to sleep for work, or I get earwormed - which is even worse :)
Lmao, it's never gonna stay chill, baby. 🤣🤣🤣 You are just the cutest! 💯 Love your families content, keep bringing the good 👊
I be listening to them all the time bro🤣
i usually play songs like this when im about to do something that requires focus and when im going to sleep.
I am gonna subscribe to you for this video. This is exactly how we want our friends to react when we introduce them to new music. 💚😂💚 BYOB, SOAD is great. Also Serg Tankian's solo stuff like The Unthinking majority & empty walls is so g'damn good. These guys are super talented. Thanks for reacting. 😁👍
Oh, an occasions I listen to this... Any time driving (my 10 & 15 year old kids love to belt this out with me in the car), or any time life pisses me off. Cheaper than therapy. 💚
Perfect as part of my playlist whilst riding to work on my motorbike.
When to play this song... For some reason my most prominent memory of this album is driving around & swimming in mtn rivers as a kid
JoJo I love your reactions, they make me chuckle. "It over? Why?" Adorable! Keep it up! Discovering new music doesn't stop when you get older!
I know right !?
When my man said that I'm like "Oh shit. My man has definitely become Rock fan now."
Him being a rap fan he seems to get into the song than us Metalheads especially when he said "What it's over? They could've made it last for 2 minutes."
When he said that I know my man Jojo is addictive to Rock music now.
Jojo is now a metalhead. Fuck yeah ! \m/
I listen to it while relaxing with a cup of tea
Bahaha see how you are rocking out at the aggressive bits... Thats me driving to work and half the reason my car is covered in coffee stains
4:19 yessir i be drivin down the street or running errands w my headphones playing soad all the damn time
It's really hard to imagine someone has lived in the US for the last 20 years and hasn't heard this song. Regardless of the authenticity of this video I love the energy. Keep it up man.
Really? I mean most young people don't listen to radio much and if they do, it is stations for an already consumed genre and music streaming services make recommendations based on your listening history. Pretty much the only way that many people step out of thier musical comfort zones is via TV shows (whether streamed or not) or movies via the soundtrack, and I personally can't remember this song being played on a soundtrack; I know Chop Suey, Lonely Day, Pictures, Bounce and Spiders have all been featured on soundtracks but not Toxicity.
The only other way that I feel someone is randomly going to stumble across this track is if it is trending on social media or one of the react channels (like this one) happens to react to it.
early Monday morning walking to work with my coffee is EXACTLY when I'm listening to this 🤣🤣🤣
Aerials might be one that you'd enjoy as well, if you haven't done it yet!
Welcome to the world of metal my friend, we're glad to have you in our crazy community. ;)
I've listened to their whole album on my way to and from work! It is such fun to sing their songs out loud and not let traffic get to me \m/ \m/
😆🤣😆🤣😆🤣😆🤣😆🤣
Literally shocked in the first 20 seconds!!!! That's the Metal's magic, bro!!! Keep enjoy it!!! 🤘🏼🎶
It does wonders on energy for house cleaning, lol. Great for boxing work out...Thanx for reaction, Peace
When we originally bought this music? We were definitely blasting it on the way to and from high school as loud as the car speakers would go. Also in high school, from a discman, bonus points if a teacher could hear the 'Disorder' refrain but wasn't in a position to do something about it.
Cooking my favorite time 🤘🏼😌🤘🏼
Yes. Monday morning first thing. It helps soothe my hangover.
“Omg here I am asking for 5 min rock songs”…made me laugh out loud.
Much love and respect, keep up the great work.
I don't have to imagine, lived it, good times mate😁👍
I love the lyrics from Deer Dance, you may should react that one!
Still remember listening to this in middle school. It's still an amazing song though.
Also still suggesting miki matsubara- stay with me. Your going to enjoy it
When we were younger me and the bros used to drink and have mini circle pits in our flat to bands like Slayer, S.O.A.D, Slipknot, Black Dahlia Murder - good days.
We always did more damage to the stuff around us than each other hahah people tend to look after each other when stuff like this is playing. A bit of controlled chaos but you're almost always safe haha
I am falling asleep to these sometimes lol
listen to this anytime anywhere !!
4:29 yes absolutely, I used to listen to it to pump me up before work
You didn't expected hey you got to be prepared!!!hahahah!!!especially with SOAD!!!
I listen to this the moment I wake u[p when im omw to work, nothing gets me more pumped this this or Mr. Jack, Soldier side, Chop Suey, Forest, Jet Pilot, War, THIS IS HOW YOU WAKE TF UP!
You described my morning routine perfectly. 😂😂
