I'm a girl of the '70s and my kids turned me on to System and I loved them. They are from Armenia I believe but raised in California. They had so much to say. Loved your reaction!!
Yes they’re Armenian. California has one of the biggest populations of Armenians. Glendale and LA are basically considered as “little” Armenia since it’s so populated by them
They are from glendale california, but they all have armenian roots. His voice, timing, flow and transportation is one of a kind. He also can rap a bit. My favorite vocalist, definately. The guitarist does the backround vocals, he sounds different but also nice in his way. In some songs you can clearly hear them both which produces amazing harmonies. Please react to System of a down - Aerials. If you haven't yet.
You can actually hear him during the verses if you listen carefully on this song aswell. Check this vid after 3:40 He is whispering very low below Serj's vocals.
They are of Armenian ethnicity with the main singer being born in Beirut, Lebanon. They are by far one of the most unique & liked rock bands out there.
I didn’t discover system of a down until the last two years or so. I was blown away when I heard them! They have lots more but BYOB has to be the next you do of them. On the same level as chop suey and toxicity…
SOAD is in my top 3. Seen many shows. Their albums are like a soundtrack to my life. The universe is an amazing artist for putting these guys together! Talent level is out of this world. Keep going with them. Guaranteed views!
SOAD is fantastic, I'm happy you guys like them. It's really hard not to like them, they're different and sound amazing. "aerials", "question", "Inner vision" and "hypnotize" are a few I suggest.
I LOVE THIS SONG, everything about it is amped 10x, such a sick track man, love your reactions as always man! It’s seeing the little smiles and head nods to certain bits that impress me, 2 people who really LOVE music and it shows 🤙🤝
Slight correction, none of them is actually from Armenia! They all have Armenian heritage and origins tho! Serge for example is a Lebanese Armenian, so his grand grandfarthers migrated from modern day turkey to Lebanon during the genocide, and the rest were born there!
System of a Down may be my favorite band. I saw them a few years ago in concert and it was a blast. But I've been listening to them for a long time now. They have tons of other amazing songs. Definitely react to more System of a Down. Serj (the lead singer) has such a unique voice and that's what originally got me hooked when I first heard them.
System of a Down have this fusion of heavy rock and metal w/ Mediterranean music, which the band got being Armenian Americans... SOAD have this off-the-wall sound that just blends together perfectly... This entire 'Toxicity' album from 2001 is an amazing record - #1 on the charts... 3 million copies sold in the US. Strange how some Cali bands just throw oddball influences into their music to create this weird, but undeniable sound that captivates the listener... Faith No More, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Primus, Incubus, Tool, Rage Against the Machine, KoRn, Mr. Bungle ... just to name a few. U gotta check out more SOAD - 'Prison song' ... 'Bounce' ... 'Question?' ... 'War?' ... 'P.L.U.C.K.' ... 'Cigaro' ... 'Hypnotize'... 🔥🔥🤘🤘
A lot of the band members are from Armenia they have a live concert there it's on UA-cam it's raining the whole time and nobody is leaving it's an amazing concert.
"System of a Down is an Armenian-American heavy metal band formed in Glendale, California, in 1994. It currently consists of members Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian, and John Dolmayan, who replaced original drummer Andy Khachaturian in 1997"
its rare that the people reacting to system of a down notice the way he sings is different. when i first heard it it reminded me of the way middle easterners sing. its perfect for system
Love SOAD! Seen them a few times (including last Fri. :) They are of Armenian decent & from Glendale, California--the largest Armenian population in the U.S.
Try Slayer feat Ice-T "Disorder". Its a Medley from The Exploited Songs "War, Uk '82 and Disorder". Its from the OST from the Movie Judgment Night from 1993.
I am a long time metal fan from Black Sabbath, Metallica, Megadeth thru Pantara all the way to Lamb of God and I tell people all the time this a top 10 metal song of all time. At least the breakdown is top 10 all time. you cant get many more transitions in a song.
I dug seeing you dig this song. I think they’re middle eastern descent. Cali raised though. I watched this after seeing your chop suey react. This band has great energy.
I grew up listening to SOAD... I was into much heavier metal, but SOAD was always one of my favorite bands. My buddies and I would call them Polka-Metal lol
Although you may never see this I would like to say I think you two are real reactors and I appreciate that. So many reactors are not real and you two show realness. I enjoy it. Keep it ☝.
When they say I cry when angels deserve to die it's how people say drug addicts get no love compared to cancer patients but it's all a sickness and the song is called Chop Suey because the label would not let it be called Self Righteous Suicide love your love for this Rock monster music heavy metal and grunge I see it in your face keep on Rockin BTW I am 59 and still rocking 🤘🤘🤘
Yes!! My daughter is a huge fan of Tech9 and I also enjoyed this collaboration with Serj. I educated my kids with my music and they educated me with theirs. Good music is good music!!
I wish I was a black UA-camr so I could post reaction videos of me listening to entry-level metal music and going “ayo this lowkey go hard tho fr fr no cap” and get 250,000 views
Great band and tune. Go react to the youngest drummer to ever be featured on Modern Drummer. 10 year old Nandi Bushell out of IP Switch. She had a drum battle with Dave Grohl last year and he conceded on the Colbert show.
Nandi is amazing! Did you see her play "Everlong" with the Foo Fighters to close the concert on stage with Dave at Madison Square Garden, I believe? Nandi nailed it!
@@SvenTviking Yes I am very familiar with Yoyoka. Been subscribed to her for several years. Yoyoka has been the bomb for years and I love to watch her amazing talent. Nandi has just recently started to come in to her own. Check out her battle last year with Dave Grohl then her performance in August 2021 with Foo Fighters as a very special guest.
System is always a good start when getting into heavier stuff. My favorite is probably Revenga. But they have alot of other querky tracks that are just as good. I got a couple of English rappers you might be interested Dabbla - Psychoville and Ocean Wisdom - Walkin. Probably won't suggest anything heavier till your more use to tempos and sounds of the Nu metal Genre. Avenged sevenfold has a good balance.
It took my girlfriend 24 hours to absolutely love System of a Down as her number one band. This is right after hearing only 3 songs of System of a Down!!
I AM SO F HAPPY you guys are reacting to this amazing band. Love the fact of how music can unite us in so many ways. Keep it up, there is so much out there! ❤ you! I came through your channel because of Tom MacDonald but SOAD is one of my fav bands! 😁🥰😘😘
These guys are Armenian. “Somewhere between the sacred silence and sleep.” Between life and death we have to live in life which is chaos, full of disorder.
The lead singer. Is from Lebanon. Most of his songs. Must be talking about the words that are consistently going on over there. There’s even a reaction channel who reacts to creek squad.(jelly roll/Upchurch/Adamcalhoun) And they’re from Lebanon. And a couple times they’ve talked about how it is free to a point there. But at the same time it’s not free. And that there’s a lot of bad shit going on there. And then they didn’t wanna go into it any further. As they live there. And they didn’t wanna piss anybody off from there who could be watching there videos.. there called the Couple crib
I’m really digging the journey you guys are taking listening to SOAD. I feel like I just bought the Toxicity album all over again, and I’ve bought it three times lol.
What's up, Recklezz. Just got the notification. I think that's how he sings. I should see if he has any interviews to know for sure. It sounds like he was saying disorder.
I'm a girl of the '70s and my kids turned me on to System and I loved them. They are from Armenia I believe but raised in California. They had so much to say. Loved your reaction!!
Yes girl same here! My favorite band ❤
Yep definitely from Armenia solid band 👌

BANGER
Dope tracks I'm a huge fan of science and ariels as well
BYOB in my college days at house parties was LIT 🔥😃
I consider this top 5 rock songs of all time 🔥 the guitar, the drums, vocals… it just slaps throughout time 🤣
Tech9 and them are🔥🔥🔥in Straight Out The Gate
It's a great video. My daughter is a huge Tech9 fan and System so I see the match there.
They are the kings of transition. Check out their song Hypnotize

I've never been a hard rock guy but more of one who lives when music grabs your attention and moves you. This one does it. I am a fan of SoaD.
its just the way he sings, love how eccentric he is/was!! The video movement was sped up, but they played this song this fast :)
More System Of A Down )

LA. Fresno has a huge Armenian population. All chill people.
Aerials is their best song IMO they shred live!!!
true but they should do studio version first:)
They have the craziest sound, but they pull it all together. Hype is the best word.Serg makes it beautiful and then tears it up
They are from armenia that's why he has that accent. Great video!!
