Laura, It all looks great. Just so you know, you can make your own Boursin by softening butter and cream cheese (about 1/2 and 1/2) and add herbs to taste. Lots cheaper.
I was eating that canned chicken last summer and noticed that I didn’t feel particularly good after it having been in my diet for a couple of weeks. I was feeling inflamed. Then I noticed that modified food starch is an ingredient. Not everyone reacts to that, and of course we make our choices and can’t be 100% angelically pure with everything, but I wanted to mention that in case anyone else notices that they don’t feel quite right after eating it.
Our Samsung was great except it had that stupid design of the ice maker in the fridge! Once we stopped using it for ice it works perfectly. I made the decision to go old school, side by side, nothing fancy as replacement.

I got magnesium glycinate, it is a bit sweet due to the glycine. Ima need to get something else because I prefere my electrolytes salty tasting. I also got some lime powder, it is nice to add for a bit of flavor.
I love the skin-on chicken thighs. I grille them with the skin off and then fry the skins in a cast iron skillet with butter and sprinkle with sugar free BBQ seasoning. I really like the Kirkland beef hotdogs too. Take that pork belly and make your own bacon. So good! Great video!
Laura, Thanks for helping us new to the carnivore diet understand how to navigate through Costco and Sam's club. Knowing how to use options for meals is most helpful. Here is one tip I found from another UA-camr when dealing with Costco steaks. He would take a Ribeye or New York Strip as a roast and cut up his steaks at home. Instead of getting the huge 2" steaks, he cut them to the size he wanted to. Also, he mentioned that trimming any fat off was better after the steaks were cut as he could see exactly what he wanted to remove. I've done this several times and found that, while the price for the ribeye per pound is the same, I can stretch the number of steaks out more effectively. Thanks for all your tips and suggestions. Skillet
You made the right choice getting the Bosch Refrigerator. I Worked for LG for 10 years and they make excellent appliances if you got a good deal on the Bosch that's great because they seldom offer discounts....
Our home is just my husband and I.. TWO people and we typically eat one to two times a day so we gave up our COSTCO membership but loved to buy the cheese blocks, beef, pork and turkey sliced meat there for his lunches.. Now we shop at WINCO grocery and they have great prices but do miss the meat savings from COSTCO
For a family I feel $300.00 for 2 weeks is fantastic. Here in Hawaii within the past year our food prices has gone sky high, a lot more than other states which we know has gotten higher also. They say it's because of shipping cost to Hawaii but I seen most prices has doubled since the covid pandemic. I feel some of it is price gouging and using the covid pandemic as an excuse. Here in Hawaii we depend on importing most of our food and we never seem to be thinking maybe we should be growing it ourselves. We tend to sell our agricultural lands to build expensive new homes for the rich, something is wrong with the politicians here in Hawaii.Only business minded and not what we really need. That's why every year so many residents are moving to the other upper 48 states, they can't afford to live here and it's all about the cost to live here.
You know, butter doesn't go bad if it thaws out, right? I mean, eventually, after a couple months at room temperature, it can go funky, but just a day or two throw it back in the fridge. Alternatively, take 20 minutes and make your own ghee, then it's ok at room temperature indefinitely. Of course, dealing with a down fridge doesn't leave you a lot of time to deal with stuff...I get it. Sometimes, it's easier just to start from square 1. Just thought I would touch on it in case someone out there got the impression that butter was that perishable.
Our Costco stocks Grillo's Spears not slices ... wish they would also have slices. Today the pork belly was only $3.99lb compared to their normal price of $5.99lb, whoop whoop. I haven't seen it in slab, just cut into long bricks (?) and I cut them into about 2 inch cuts and fry in cast iron skillet, so yummy when really crispy sprinkled with Pork King Good seasonings, and I save the grease, it is a fave next to bacon grease. And yes those big pork loins are awesome, hubby brings it home and cuts into thick 'chops' for grilling and freezes it.
Great job, Laura! I buy some of the same or similar items at Costco. As Carnivore is diversified amongst the community, our preferences differ. Funny, you brought up the butter and burgers...I find that I prefer the grass-fed and Angus chuck burgers to the sirloin. My standard meal is one of each, topped with Kerrygold, along with 2-3 pasture-raised eggs. I get just the right amount of fat and taste, with some grass-fed beef in my diet (Angus chuck are my favorite tasting). The sirloin burgers are a little too lean for me, but YMMV. That's what's great about this community. We can have different preferences, but be on the same team. I completely agree with your assessment of the meat department. My favorites are the Ribeyes and boneless beef ribs. I make boneless rib soup, using the ribs and organic beef bone broth (after I sear them). I was going to try the NY strip this week, but I also got in just before the close and only one pack of Ribeyes was left (not complaining), so it will be next time. I hope a meat buyer sees my next statement. Please look into sourcing bulk grass-fed fresh beef. You will be killing it! There is a market for it, and my hunch is that it would be in great demand, with the cost/value we receive at Costco. One recent purchase I liked was the Waygu ground beef. I made soft tacos (just seasoned Waygu and shredded cheese), stuffed in Egg Life wraps. I just wish I could get tri-tip here. My sister is in TX and raves about it. Thanks again!
Oh my gosh my fridge also just stopped last month and we had the repairman tell us the same thing about our LG fridge! Buying a fridge in 1 day was crazy but it was a holiday weekend and also got a stand up freezer to be able to stock up on more of my meat!!!!
Always love your videos. They are to the point and so useful! And I always think of you when I see those big pork loins in Costco. Someday I will buy one but it looks intimidating to me for some reason.
We cut them into chops, throw them in the instant pot with a beer or broth and seasoning and pressure cook for an hour. Then pull apart. Freeze and use as needed. They also make fine pork chops-especially the darker meat.
LG is actually a very good refrigerator and other appliances. They stand by their products. Every appliance maker has their issues. I've been fixing appliances for 33 years, and LG is one of the better ones these days.
@@MikeWoo35 I had a kenmore elite, it had LG parts in it, the home warranty ended up cutting me a check for 3k to replace it if you don't have a home warranty I highly recommend it.
@dragonshoarddesign3094 Like I said, it depends on who is fixing it. If they do a good job the first time no need for a warranty. Plus, LG had the best manufacturers warranty in the business and often fixed their machines well past the warranty for free.
Great Haul… glad to see you were able to bounce back from the fridge no longer working on you guys. The new one looks amazing! I still say you should have gotten the hubby the Sea Bass 😂

@@WRXinthe410 it is to me too,. They must both eat a ton of food in order to spend that much. One needs to only spend about 50 to maybe 75 a week tops per person, but probably closer to $50.00. We in Cape Town had an LG Fridge that had lasted 17 year's then broke down just after Christmas. We too bought a Narrow Bosch Fridge with Double Plus A for all the Load-shedding/ Rolling Black Out in Electricity. Geared for Solar Power which we now have. On the 2nd April last Sunday my 85 yr old Mother, my wife 61 yrs old, & myself 62yrs old have just started the Carnivore Diet. Both my mother & I have had Total Knee Replacements, my mother has bad inflammation, & been struggling with Psoriatic Arthritis & still suffer from Psoriasis, Leaky Gut, Type 2 diabetes which I had reversed Type 1 down to Type 2 through diet & hectically over Weight. My wife too is overweight & has been suffering from an old dancing injury on her knee, plus suffering from painful headaches. I told my small family that we need to eat more Vegetables, because we weren't & I was feeling guilty! Thank you Laura!! Appreciate your videos!!! and you always look amazing! Lucky fam gets all that yummy food! I gotta make a costco run and bbq this weekend! 🥰🥰
When your fridge/freezer goes bad remember that people stored meat for centuries before we had these appliances. You can preserve that meat by curing it with salt and/or smoking it.
Love your content thanks! Just have to let you know(as a former New Yorker)….Rao’s is pronounced Ray-Oh’s. Best jar sauce! Thanks again. You’ve encouraged me to try this 💗
I think that is WONDERFUL for a family of your size Laura! I don’t live w my 30 yr old son anymore so I’m literally shopping mostly at Walmart now and get pretty much most everything you are getting with the exception of shrimp (just not a fan) but i’m mostly beef… (and organs) and I have increased my butter intake but i’ve gotten my grocery bill down to around 300 per month. I’ll eat oranges and apples too but I’m aiming to get my bill down to $150 or less as I’m dropping the weight lol 🤷🏻♀️ TYSM for sharing your great content! Kristina
if u want shrimp with flavor, get argentina red shrimp!! and beef, get a knuckle, a top sirloin and enjoy the piccania!! they love it in Bazil !! very tender and flavorfull, 😊
Thank you so much for all your sharing! I just started, and I was wondering if you would share a little bit about home schooling your kids at home, because I have two boys and one is diagnosed with autism and the other is probably on the spectrum as well, so we have never had any experience with homeschooling. Thank you!
I love the grocery hauls. I wish we had a Sam's or Costco in our town but the closest is about a 40 minute drive with lots of traffic. We are stuck with Kroger, Aldis, Publix or Wal-Mart. You can save money by going to Costco.
@@tdtommy196wives tale. You can absolutely re-freeze meat. Fun fact, chicken arrives at your grocer frozen and is stocked frozen. When you bring it home and put it in the freezer, you're re-freezing it.

Video idea-- we are in the market for a bar b que. I thought you used to use the Otto wild but now I don’t see you using it anymore. What do you recommend? Thinking of getting a Blackstone. Interested in your/Chris’s thoughts since you cook a lot of meat and different types of meat on the daily.
You should check the ingredients on that shrimp. A lot of the frozen shrimp now has some weird chemical on it. I go out of my way now to find shrimp that only says shrimp and salt.
Oh wow that sucks about the frig but that's good to know about the brands. I will have to find your videos on how to cook pork loin and the other pork item.
I was glad to hear you didn't get a Samsung! Both compressors died 5 years in and couldn't find a repairman to service it. That was 2500 bucks! Now I have a $50 GE from an auction that was in a break room! Going strong and probably 15 or more years old. Edit: Just ordered the LMNT. Thanks!
I am new on my carnivore journey, interesting I am spending 1/3 less even with all the meat and eggs. I cannot add-in other foods yet like you can but it's good to know I can add-in some things once I lose the weight. Edit: My dishwasher repair guy told me yesterday that if you can't afford the Bosch, Whirlpool is also good. Whatever you do, stay away from Samsung fridges. Their Microwaves and stoves are great but their fridges and dishwashers are garbage.
I have a Sam's Club membership, but this video is still a great guide for me as I begin my carnivore journey. (The differences between Sam's and Costco are very minor in my research. Sam's is a pinch cheaper on the membership and in-store prices, Costco has a few more locations and better house-brands.) Thanks for this video, Laura!
I'm in Australia and we don't get many of these here. 😥 I'm going to costco today...we'll see if there is any change from last time. What we do get is no added sugar bacon and smoked chicken breast. 🤞they have them today too. My kids loved those the last time.
Love your channel! Thank you for the chicken thigh and wings tip!!!! My family is loving that with our meals. Learned so much from you already! (Newer subscriber) and the cheese that puffs in the air fryer from Aldi 😍

I would definitely go once a month or so if i only had one am hour away. My Mom's Costco is an hour away, we gave her a membership for Christmas and she goes once or twice a month. Even as a single person it has been worth it for her still.
Awesome haul. I miss the ribeye cap lol. Awesome deal on brisket. Grab and go ready to eat: ribs, rotisserie chicken, wings. Yessss the hot dogs. Mmmmm
This just happened to us with our LG, but thankfully got the repair instead of while new fridge. Next fridge will probably be a Bosch. I love these Costco hauls... trying to decide off it's worth it for 2.
Its just me and my wife and its definitely worth it even with us getting the premium membership if you are going to use it consistently. No idea the exact amount but pretty sure we've saved thousands in the 3 years since we became members although that wasn't all just on food.
My husband was a butcher for 44 years. He says you can refreeze meat and it won’t hurt it. They did it at both places he worked. We also do it in our house and we’ve never gotten sick. That’s an old wive’s tail!

My wife too is overweight & has been suffering from an old dancing injury on her knee, plus suffering from painful headaches.
I told my small family that we need to eat more Vegetables, because we weren't & I was feeling guilty! Plus I love thick fatty Biltong/Jerky,🥩 until we saw your Testimony of your Husband & Yourself on UA-cam over April Fools Day. As well as Doctors Ken Berry interview with Dr. Neurosurgeon Anthony Chaffee both are Radicals on Carnivore Diets! "That Plants are trying to Kill You, ....!" 🌱🍄🌿☠️ Plus watched a UA-cam video of a young lady who was very fat, but extremely thin from 13years on a Carnivore Diet speaking to Dr. Ken Berry.😱 A huge Shock us here at home. We all want to get healthy!❣️
But a lot makes sense to us, my target is 90 days
Love Costco tri tip (reverse sear) and the flap meat (taco or carne asada rub then grilled on high 3min/side)
Thank you Laura!! Appreciate your videos!!! and you always look amazing! Lucky fam gets all that yummy food! I gotta make a costco run and bbq this weekend! 🥰🥰
Could you make a video on your loaded chicken salad and chicken burritos you mentioned
Thanks
thanks. Just watched this before our Costco trip today !!
Daisy has come out with two new dips... all sour cream, no bad stuff...and so good! Onion flavor and Ranch flavor...I am addicted...sooo good!
Thank you so much for all your sharing! I just started, and I was wondering if you would share a little bit about home schooling your kids at home, because I have two boys and one is diagnosed with autism and the other is probably on the spectrum as well, so we have never had any experience with homeschooling. Thank you!
Been there done that with the fridge & the separate freezer
I love the grocery hauls. I wish we had a Sam's or Costco in our town but the closest is about a 40 minute drive with lots of traffic. We are stuck with Kroger, Aldis, Publix or Wal-Mart. You can save money by going to Costco.
Love your grocery hauls........great tips!!!
Remember when fridges actually lasted. We have one that was bought late 80's and still works same as day we got it.
Always have a backup freezer in your garage! That's a hard lesson we had to learn.
that's not going to help when it's already partially defrosted. You cannot refreeze meat.
@@tdtommy196wives tale. You can absolutely re-freeze meat. Fun fact, chicken arrives at your grocer frozen and is stocked frozen. When you bring it home and put it in the freezer, you're re-freezing it.
@@itsallperfectlynormal9805 I did not know that. I always heard you couldn't refreeze meat and I never questioned it. Cool, thank you for the info!
Simmer Rao’s with italian sausage then serve over diced sautéed zucchini for a delicious ketovore Italian dish. Rao’s is lower carb than most marinaras.
I have something very similar once every week or 2. Love it!
I can’t find tri tip in WI either but I check every time I go just in case we get lucky!
I had the motherboard die on an expensive Bosch fridge at the 5 and 8 year mark so I’m leery of any fridge lasting well!
i watch sugar as well. i
wont eat hot dogs or the bacon because they have sugar. i use low sodium bacon w no sugar and the applegate hotdogs ( hard to find).
Grillos pickles Are the BEST!! I craved/ate the heck out of them when I was pregnant lol And STill eat a ton of them!
Spring for Kerry gold or the Aldi genetic Kerry gold butter, way more nutrient dense
I must say.. I love your hair. Thank you for this video.
You should check the ingredients on that shrimp. A lot of the frozen shrimp now has some weird chemical on it. I go out of my way now to find shrimp that only says shrimp and salt.
I made your meatball recipe last night and enjoyed some more for breakfast 😋
Oh wow that sucks about the frig but that's good to know about the brands. I will have to find your videos on how to cook pork loin and the other pork item.
I was glad to hear you didn't get a Samsung! Both compressors died 5 years in and couldn't find a repairman to service it. That was 2500 bucks! Now I have a $50 GE from an auction that was in a break room! Going strong and probably 15 or more years old.
Edit: Just ordered the LMNT. Thanks!
Boursin on warm scrambled eggs is my default...learned that one from a Frenchman! Highly recommended!
Do U have a video for Aldi?
I am new on my carnivore journey, interesting I am spending 1/3 less even with all the meat and eggs. I cannot add-in other foods yet like you can but it's good to know I can add-in some things once I lose the weight. Edit: My dishwasher repair guy told me yesterday that if you can't afford the Bosch, Whirlpool is also good. Whatever you do, stay away from Samsung fridges. Their Microwaves and stoves are great but their fridges and dishwashers are garbage.
Yes...we have a Samsung...it blows. We are saving for something (anything) better.
Can confirm on the Samsung dishwasher
I have a Sam's Club membership, but this video is still a great guide for me as I begin my carnivore journey. (The differences between Sam's and Costco are very minor in my research. Sam's is a pinch cheaper on the membership and in-store prices, Costco has a few more locations and better house-brands.)
Thanks for this video, Laura!
great tip on the Hebrew dogs!! I thought I was buying better quality meat with those!! Thanks
Great video Laura! Im loving your channel. Just started Ketovore so your videos have been extremely helpful.
I personally use to get the packaged bacon but stopped recently. Became inconsistent having no smoke or seasoning flavor over the last year or so.
Flap meat is my absolute favorite!! Put some of the Boursin cheese into scrambled eggs, makes them nice and fluffy.
Thank you for video love it . I'm trying I'm new to all of this and I just started, was trying to do just carnivore but always seem to get to ketocarnivore I think that's how they say it 🤔 the c struggle is real but won't give up. Wish me well please.
nice to come shopping with ya Laura, that stinks about the fridge hopefully the new one will serve you well.
I would love to see a menu using all these items you use by the week...thanks
Check out my What I Eat videos. We basically cook all this on repeat.
Thanks for making this video. Very helpful for me
Thanks for taking us along. I'm thinking about becoming a Costco member again. The nearest one is just over an hour away from us.
Mmmmm
You will love the Bosch fridge!
I’m about to go to the farmers market $$. Just watched this. My wife has Costco. I’ll be going on her next trip.
Great video, Laura. Next time I go to Costco I will look for some of those cuts you mentioned.
Are there any Gordon Food Services (GFS) in your area? They have some really good prices on meat (~$26 for 20 lbs ground beef, $47 for 15 lbs bacon).
We don't have those in AZ
Thanks for the tips. Can you share what you use or put in your taco bowls?
Costco has some really nice everyday clothes. I love the sweatshirts and jackets.
Yes! That brand of pickles are the best I've ever had.
I have had an LG fridge for years, no issues at all.
My husband was a butcher for 44 years. He says you can refreeze meat and it won’t hurt it. They did it at both places he worked. We also do it in our house and we’ve never gotten sick. That’s an old wive’s tail!
