For those of you who don’t like the liver taste you can soak it in milk before frying. It takes the liver outta the liver. Not sure why it works but it does.

Livers work as a body's filter, so that makes sense. it filters out the liver flavor because you're letting milk go through it.

A very simple and delicious ground beef recipe I made up one day:
Put about a pound of meat in the skillet, add pink salt, crack an egg in there, stir it up occasionally so the egg mixes, then when it’s almost done cooking, mix in some shredded Parmesan cheese. Sooooo good.

@@swagmeisterFLEX It was enlightening. Downside: Realised 3 weeks in that adaptation (to fat fuel) wasn't going to happen any time soon - was exhausted, moody and just plain tired of it, so I changed to AIP (Autoimmune Palaeo) and haven't looked back; now experiencing the best energy during Muay Thai training I've ever had. On the upside: Within the first 10 days the NTT diet completely resolved long term bloating issues and skin hypersensitivity I'd been experiencing for around 3 years - it was like magic. Those issues have largely stayed resolved, even now switching to AIP which is still pretty strict in the initial elimination phase but opens up over time. All in all; if you're going to go on a diet as extreme as carnivore/NTT you're best to do month progressively cutting sugar and carbs before going 100% strict - better likelihood of adaptation and significantly less likely to hate life.

That beef isn't browned, it is steamed in the water (Ice) used in grinding it. If you want browned beef you have to keep cooking 'til the water is gone and the meat browns in the fat left in the pan. Really makes a difference in the flavor. Try it.

So it's ok, on Carnivore, to season meat with plant based stuff, and not just minerals and more meat?????? That's Atkins, without the elimination dieting to detect previously undetected adverse reactions to individual foods that are bottlenecking your metabolism singlehandedly into hoarding fat, insulin, and blood sugar! I went from 300 to 177, doing that, only eating nonmeatrs two meals a week!

I can't even always find pork anymore, often there's just bacon and ham at the store, and some sausage with a little pork, but mostly it's also chicken. My go to is adding homemade tomato sauce. Browning the meat a bit more, and adding diced olives as well. A couple tomato plants can make 20 quarts a summer or more when the sauce isn't thickened (I don't like boiling it down, ae it reduces the fresh taste of the sun ripened tomatoes, plus this saves a ton of time).

Easiest way I've found to mince up a piece of frozen liver is a good old cheese grater! Quick and easy. Also, if you don't like the taste of liver try very fresh ox liver RAW! Honestly as long as it is fresh it doesn't really taste livery at all and is as sweet as candy! The taste changes dramatically to the standard 'livery' as soon as you start cooking it.
When it comes to iodine - I live very close to the coast - the one concession I do make to 'vegetables' is once every couple of weeks I'll add some seaweed! BUT only that I've gone to the beach, got in the water and harvested myself.

to cook liver has one trick. Never put salt onto the liver during the cooking process. It makes the liver as hard as a leather belt. Only spice is the ground black pepper and, if you want onion. Also, the liver get cooked/ready when it starts to let water out to the pan. After this you over cooked it. You can add salt after you cut the fire under the pan.

2:50 - Not criticising here, and if you would like a "creamier" sauce for the meat, you might try to beat the eggs in a bowl and season them, and then add the meat to the eggs while mixing well, and then returning that to the pan to "finish" the dish. It works like the ancient Italian "carbonara" sauce. It ought to be delicious!

I wanted to share a recipe of something I have been makin'. I'm on an OMAD and STRICTLY carnivore with Monday all day fasting! It's a 3 day - "fish casserole" kind of creation. Consists of a can of Albacore tuna in spring water, a can of sardines - wild caught in water and a vacuum packed large piece of wild caught alaskan salmon (coho or sockeye) from Trader Joes, all cooked on my outside covered grille. I put the salmon on a foil boat out on the covered grille and while its cookin', I make a foil boat platter with about 20" of foil, folded long way in1/2 and then cup up the outer edge (about an inch) to make a boat. Then scoup in the tuna (after draining water) and the anchovies -drained- and break up it all and stir it up. After the salmon cooks (about 15 minutes) I scoup it into the mixture and break it all up and stir it in. Then I scoup it all into the foil boat and flatten it out and put a couple scoups of beef tallow (fat) on top for oil. Then back in to the grille for about 10 -15 more minutes. But I also make about 6 local free range raw eggs whipped in a bowl and pour it on top and kind of stir it in. In 10 minutes I have a 3 day casserole that I divide in three and last me for 3 meals (days)! It only comes to about $5 per day to eat! It's awesome!!

Fats from meat, and butter, are quickly absorbed to make hormones and other vital things our bodies need. Ketovore adds low carb dairy, Carnivore is zero carbs very simple. Women need more fat omega 3's put you in ketosis, sardines, cod liver, find what you like and add them twice a week.

While the recipes themselves seem fine, especially the base combination of the beef, liver, eggs, and collagen, the added ingredients, other than the cheese and salt, are in the nightshade family of plants and those are not recommended for anyone with a hypertensive condition. The family of plants called "solanaceae" contain natural poisons called "glycoalkaloids" and these are present in tomatoes and anything that "adds heat". In my opinion, the best way to add heat to any dish is to use good, old-fashioned black, white, or red peppercorns that are coarsely ground. These are not in the nightshade family.

I think upto about a third liver to ground meat ratio is OK. Try it! It is worth it for the nutrient density and also is one of the cheapest meats out there!

Good tip about freezing the liver! I've been avoiding liver just because it's so gross and icky to touch and work with. I'll try that next time!

What does liver taste like ?

@@Mr.Helper. Hard to explain. It's a unique taste. Similar to meat but it tastes more nutty. If you've ever had Liverwurst, it's basically the same taste.
