This guy is the ONLY reactor on UA-cam who I feel is absolutely authentic, because the reactions to these songs are the same as I had when I first heard them. I was obsessed with Metallica, then went crazy over Alice In Chains, then got into Skid Row and so on. I was actually worried about watching this one and I put it off a little bit because I thought man I'll be bummed if he doesn't like it. By the way, I suggested Skid Row a couple of times! The fact he recognized him from Gilmore Girls is amazing to me.
@@JCourts2k23 That's the great thing about Skid Row...Not many bands could cover Judas Priest and tour with Pantera, yet have a hit ballad that got played at High School Proms... I feel that the Skid Row lineup with Sebastian Bach was the ultimate rock band in the sense of being able to play any style of metal and nail it. The perfect balance of heavy aggression, musicianship and mainstream appeal.
WASTED TIME is a MUST!! His vocals are unbelievable!! The song is about his friend Steve Adler former drummer of Guns and Roses. He was heavily addicted to heroin and the lyrics are incredible!
3:40 Bro... This voice... This *_type_* of vocals and guitar work was SUPER common and popular across most of the "hair metal" and "glam rock" bands of the 80s and early 90s. Bands like Motley Crüe, Cinderella, Whitesnake, Ratt, Winger, Europe, Van Halen... hell, Guns N' Roses... and so, so many more... Skyrocketing vocals and amazing guitar solos were the hallmark of this era of "party rock" bands. Ballads like this were hugely popular, usually pretty emotional, and just a lot of fun to listen to. It was a great time in music history. I can't wait to see you dive into more from this band, but hopefully some of the others I named, too. If you liked this one, you'll like most of the others. 😊
I probably listen to more 80s music than anything. Slaughter ~ Fly to the Angels Faster Pussycat ~ House of Pain Cinderella ~ Don’t know what you’ve got, Gypsy Road & Nobody’s Fool. L.A. Guns ~ Ballad of Jayne
This is a Classic ! I`m soo glad I got to see them in Concert 2 times.. "Youth Gone Wild", "18 and LIfe", "Wasted Time", "Monkey Buisness", "Slave to the Grind" ..and "In a Darkened Room"... oooooh You`re gonna love that one.. :)
The emotion on your face was very real, you’re experiencing the timeless classics Gen X was basically spoon-fed - the sound and the overall vibe were pretty much perfect… glad you’re enjoying it as much as we did
The genre is "80's Rock & Hair Metal"...I love it, and it's primarily what I listen to personally. I was born in '71 and was a teenager during the 80's so...yeah. Dig it!
They're from an Era after Glam metal and before Grunge. 1988-1992, that sweet spot where hard rock bands like Skid Row, Warrant, Firehouse, Slaughter, Danger Danger, Hardline, Lynch Mob were coming out. Great stuff, man. Keep up the great content 🤘
Woa, can't believe you've not heard Skid Row before😮 OK Wasted Time, In A Darkened Room, Quicksand Jeasus, Monkey Business, Piece of Me. Classed as hair metal but heavier, amazing band
My wife was a HUGE Gilmore Girls fan. I remember sitting with her watching it when Sebastian Bach first appeared in it. My wife had heard some of their songs but had no clue who he was. She couldn't understand why I thought it was so funny that he should be in that show. I just couldn't stop laughing for a while. Then, a few years ago, my wife got my daughter into it and I had the joy of introducing her to Sebastian Bach and Slid Row when she got to that part of the show. The look on her face when I played this song and said..."That's him". Unforgettable..
Sebastian is a legend in rock history, had the pleasure of meeting him years back. He does a lot of charity work for kids and is truly one of the nicest people I've met. Skid Row for life!!!
I can't wait until you get to their song, "Wasted Time." One of his best! The emotion he sings with on that teack.... you can feel it hit you in the face. Also, rheir song Monkey Business is a fantastic track as well.
This is what you call a Power Ballad!!! The hard rock power ballad typically expresses love or heartache through its lyrics, shifting into wordless intensity and emotional transcendence with heavy drumming and a distorted electric guitar solo representing the "power" in the power ballad.
Sebastian Bach has phenomenal vocals. He still performs as a solo artist, he was the first metal singer to perform on Broadway too. He had hernia surgery in 2017, he says he literally screamed his guts out. Since then there are a few notes/screams that he can't hit like he used to but his voice is still there. He was on the Masked Singer Season 10. He was only on for a few weeks but the Judges were impressed with his vocals and surprised when he was unmasked.
The solo "Be Kind and Rewind" was hilarious! There are so many incredible songs from that era and earlier that you could be at this for years. See you next time.
Loved watching you experience Skid Row for the first time!!! They were amazing. If you want to experience them the way most of us did back when they first hit, do a reaction to "Youth Gone Wild". It's off the same album as I Remember You (their debut release). Follow that with "18 and Life" and you will have heard the Skid Row trifactor, of one hit after another and another.
Skid Row was a great band. One of the last to come out of the Hair band era. Like every rock band at the time, they had to release a rock ballad for better record sells, bigger concert attendance, radio & MTV videos & airplay,.Other great songs "Youth Gone Wild" "18 & Life" "Wasted Time" to check out
This is the 1989 “Power Rock Ballad”. He is THE BEST voice of our GENX generation and of any generation really.. Sebastian Bach was my all time favorite crush back then! He is still singing like that too… and if you watch some interviews, he is HILARIOUS and has a huge personality to go with his huge voice! I love him! ❤
Rock/Metal ballads of the late 80s -early 90s were AWESOME!!! These were the bands that sounded better live than on the radio. LOVE LOVE LOVE Skid Row! Nicest bunch of men in music that I have ever met.
Great reaction! Check out 'Skid Row- Wasted Time'. Lead singer and Gilmore Girls actor, Sebastian Bach said, the song was written about the spiraling effect of drug use on his friend Steven Adler, the original drummer of Guns N' Roses.
First time viewer here and I'm sure I won't be the only one to tell you this. Sebastian Bach is hands down one of the greatest rock/metal vocalists of all time. This man lives and breathes rock-n-roll. This band knows how to write kick ass music and are master storytellers both lyrically and musically. If you go down the Skid Row rabbit hole, you will NOT be disappointed.
It feels like ANTHEMS have been lost. We used to have these songs that had people head-bangin' and singing along with full-throated fun and fervor, a lung FULL of as much breath as you could muster. You raise that SOLO cup and give it your best. Fun memories :)
I grew up listening to them. 1989 this came out. I've seen them 5x in concert and got to meet him back then. He was the 80s. Everyone loved him both guys and girls. He was the ultimate rock star. This song was the most popular prom song when it came out. Check out their other stuff from albums 1 and 2. They kicked him out after the first 3 albums. "Wasted time" "18 and life" "In a darkened room"
18 AND LIFE ....

They had 2 good songs this and 18 and life the rest SUCKED
And do the lyric video so you don't miss how heavy the lyrics actually are! Also, check out "Youth Gone Wild"!!!

"WASTED TIME," and "QUICKSAND JESUS" are really good songs too

So much this but mostly Quicksand Jesus.
Both of these really show the true power of his voice but quicksand Jesus is just amazing
