Steven Tyler has a foundation now called Janie's house that builds homes for young women who have been abused and just basically need help. He has a huge fundraiser every year around the Grammys I think it is. He's really a great person I've gotten to meet him several times. I remember one time we were all backstage and there was a girl that was talking to him about how their music helped save her and get her into rehab. He didn't care how many people were waiting to talk to him he gave her his ultimate complete attention and I don't think I ever saw his eyes leave her eyes while she told him her story.
@@Blisteryn yeah I wasn't a young groupie lol this was late '90s we were friends with their tour manager. I think they were over the groupie stuff by then 😂
The guy who took parental custody of an underaged girl he was dating to be able to transport her over state lines legally has a foundation for helping young women? Sounds about right
Steven Tyler is THE vocalist. His instrument is just so fine tuned after half a century of singing. He's finally retired to take care of that instrument, but his legacy and his lyrics (along with Joe Perry, the lead guitarist who wrote many of the songs with Steven) will live on for decades!
Your dedication to these reactions is really appreciated. Never underestimate how much fun it is for those of us who saw bands like this on the first go around to see the next generation appreciating the same thing. Hope you have a great time in Wales Janie came out in late ‘89
"Walk This Way" - "Sweet Emotion" - "Uncle Salty" - "No More No More" - "Big Ten Inch Record". --- All from the "Toys in the Attic" album and all great.
@@chrisweidner4768facts!!!!! Nobody’s Fault is Aerosmith at their finest, IMHO. I personally do not care for late 80’s Aerosmith, not the best representation of their talent. I prefer older bluesy, dirty Aerosmith.
Give Aerosmiths Walk this Way with Run DMC a listen. These 2 bands not only created a new genre of music with rock/metal and rap, this song revived Aerosmiths music career. Fun twist on an old classic. Blew my then teenage mind when it hit.
I cannot listen to Aerosmith while I’m driving. The next thing I know, I’m at 120 mph and building speed! Aerosmith makes me happy happy! (Psst, I’m 63)
There is a HUGE rabbit hole of incredible songs from these fabulous boys At 76 and 73 respectively, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry (f.k.a. The Toxic Twins because of their heavy habits) are two of the best singer/guitarists out there
Aerosmith is America's Greatest Rock and Roll band and the best selling American hard rock band of all-time. Their first album came out in 1972. They have spanned decades with huge hits. You have to dive down this rabbit hole. Walk This Way, Sweet Emotion, Love in an Elevator, Rag Doll, What It Takes, Angel, Livin' on the Edge, Train Kept a Rollin', Baby, Please Don't Go (from 2004), Jaded, Back in the Saddle, Draw the Line, Falling in Love (Is Hard on the Knees), Amazing, Cryin', Crazy, F.I.N.E, Eat the Rich and about 100 more. There are too many to list. Steven Tyler is the goat. Enjoy the journey.
When I was a 14ish year old girl (with a wonderful dad, but still), this song felt bones-deep cathartic, for every time I'd been casually creeped on, touched, photographed, catcalled, by men I knew and by total strangers, at way too young of an age to know how to deal with any of it. This right here was empowering in a way I badly needed back then. Nobody was speaking to us about this when&where I grew up, and I found this song by complete accident. And it made me feel like I had a right to all that anger I carried around, from every incident I couldn't explain and couldn't get out of. Still gives me chills to this day.
🏴hi from Wales🏴 hope you’re here for pleasure 😊 Just want to say I’m a 57 year old woman enjoying the fuck out of your reactions. It’s great to see someone that seems as passionate about music as I’ve been all my life. This song is one of my top 5 from Aerosmith 🤘🏼xx
This was one of a few songs in the "adults didn't want to talk about this stuff happening to kids, but now this song is everywhere I guess maybe we have to talk to our kids and make motions of doing something" genre along with Jeremy, Runaway Train and others. Overnight when this dropped there was a lot of kids asking their parents uncomfortable questions after hearing the lyrics, and good on them for using their platform to bring it up. Sadly still way too common so not as transformative as it could have been, but there were a bunch of kids out there realizing stuff they were going through wasn't normal and wasn't okay, which was validating and hopefully a step in a better direction.
My favorite part of the whole song is at the end, where he does the equivalent of hiding the best comment in the tags. "Honey, honey what's the problem? Lord, tell me it ain't right! Was it daddy's cradle-robbin', made you scream at night?" This is one of those the perfect Rock albums. And like Nobody's Fault and Living On The Edge, it's one of the songs where Aerosmith stops partying and gets a conscience, which is one of my favorite things ever. I've seen them 4x, they were my first concert... and i will never cease loving them.
You’re the absolute perfect combination of you want to see from music reaction videos: someone who legitimately hasn’t heard the songs, but appreciates (and usually becomes a fan) of the music. Anyone can record a reaction to a song: what I want to see is a fan of my favorite band’s first reaction to their songs…and you end up loving all my favorites. Aerosmith, Pantera, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam…I could keep going. Cheers to you, Mollyboy.
Aerosmith is hands down my all time favorite band! I grew up in the 70s & 80s so there's a lot to choose from, but Aerosmith beats them all. There's no bad song, any choice will be a banger!
I think "Amazing" by them is a top 10 song of all time. Theres more complex songs out there, but for theme and ear candy elements its such an underappreciated song
That break in his vocals is often called a “flip.” He’s flipping from his connected voice into his head voice, sometimes called falsetto, and back down to his connected voice which is where he belts.
Can’t wait! Absolutely love Aerosmith.. One of my favourite memories ever is having Steven Tyler wish me a happy 18th birthday while on stage during a show in Manchester many years ago
Sweet Emotion, Crazy, Pink, Walk This Way, Livin' On The Edge, Cryin', Dude Looks Like A Lady, Amazing, Don't Want To Miss A Thing (all with their music videos)
The Best Aerosmith is the earliest!!! 70's!! Chip Away at the Stone - Mama Kin - Toys in the Attic - Sweet Emotion - Kings and Queens - Last Child - Dream on - Walk this Way - Back in the Saddle - Train Kept Rolling
Started going to Aerosmith concerts in the 70s 5 times over the years ,These guys are great .Steven is one of the greatest front men of all times.my opinion 😊 so much talent from each one of the band members.
Many of their videos have an actress by the name of "ALICIA SILVERSTONE" who is a very good friend of Steven Tyler's daughter Liv Tyler who was in the movie ARMEGGEDON that Steven sang the main song for the movie. Many of the videos have both Alicia and Liv in them together.
WOW! This takes me back to when I was 11-13 y/o. The town used to hold free outdoor concerts, and they used to play a few songs when they came. This was before they were noticed and became famous. Steven Tyler is from the tiny state I live in, and he still comes back to his home by one of our well-known lakes about an hour from where I live. His mom was in an exclusive assisted living facility in my hometown and my husband was a full time firefighter. Firefighters were almost always first on the scene of any call, including medical emergencies, and most of them knew her. She enjoyed talking to them. And the actress Liv Tyler is Steven's daughter. She was in her teens the first time they met. Just a bit of trivia for you.
This is probably my favorite 80s Aerosmith song, but that had 2 incredible albums in the late 80s with hit after hit after hit, videos on MTV 24/7. They're one of the few bands that have had incredible careers in the 70s, 80s & 90s. Different sounds in each decade but their badass sound is the thread that connects them. And Steven's voice, lol.
What a treat rediscovering this song and seeing you enjoying it so much too. Gotta respect your serious commitment to these videos MollyBoy. You definitely got me hooked. It's like a cliffhanger at the end of every video wondering what's coming next. And your little aside glances to the camera. So endearing!
There's no other song that to me sounds so disjointed yet properly cohesive at the same time. It sounds complete and finished, yet somehow missing something - like it's got a head and legs that are somehow connected without a body in-between. I don't know how better to describe it. Amazing song and craft.

The song was in a scene from “Not Another Teen Movie”, male lead high school student put it on over the PA system in the high school stadium at lunch, sang it to the girl he liked who is also named Janie, she gets tackled by security because they think she has a gun on her…
@@MollyBoyTV yes, the scene starts from the beginning of the song and I think during that part is when security is chasing her through the stands and around the field.

I love Joe Perry's solo for the reason you said. It's crazy. I think it reflects how Janie is feeling. Torn apart by what her father has done to her and grappling with defending herself against him using the gun she's obtained. It is just the perfect complement to Steven's storytelling in the lyrics.
Aerosmith. Classic band. 70s classic rock era. Late 80s - 90s glam era/revival era. 2000s modern. Biggest #1 hit - I Dont Want To Miss A Thing from the film Armageddon. This song is late 80s. One of my favorite Aerosmith songs. Best one is imo "What it takes" (the long version) and the most outstanding guitar solos of Aerosmith is imo the one at the end of their Song "Amazing". I know You love good guitar solos, You really should check that out!
I saw Aerosmith perform this live in the Birmingham Exhibition Centre UK in 1991, I have never seen anything like it since. Steven Tyler is a once in a lifetime phenomenon and for him to hook up with a band of musicians to match him was nothing short of miraculous. I will take that memory to the grave.
I saw this when they were in concert in Oklahoma City. I remember that the stage was built on top of a wall of their speakers. I was sitting only six rows back, just about dead center. When they did Janie's Got A Gun, when they did that drum thump, it felt like a gunshot. I think someone was cranking up the sound to 11. My clothes were flapping. I was not prepared for the volume of sound that day. After the concert, my ears were buzzing for days.
It is so awesome to get to watch you react to these incredible songs from my generation! It's amazing to see the younger generation appreciate great rock and roll 🎸🎸🎸🎸

Steve Tyler 'Demond of Screaming', song writer and lead singer of Aerosmith from when he started the band with guitarist Joe Perry in 1970, to present at Tyler age 76 and Perry age 73. This song was released in Nov. 1989. You should listen to the collaboration with RUN DMC on 'Walk This Way' done in 1986 and brought Aerosmith to a whole new audience. Aerosmith was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry received the ASCAP Founders Award and were inducted into the Song Writers Hall of Fame in 2013.

One of my favorite Aerosmith songs. Best one is imo "What it takes" (the long version) and the most outstanding guitar solos of Aerosmith is imo the one at the end of their Song "Amazing".
I know You love good guitar solos, You really should check that out!
Late 80's😎
I saw Aerosmith perform this live in the Birmingham Exhibition Centre UK in 1991, I have never seen anything like it since. Steven Tyler is a once in a lifetime phenomenon and for him to hook up with a band of musicians to match him was nothing short of miraculous. I will take that memory to the grave.
Steven Tyler owned a small venue in Boston called Mama Kins. That is where i saw an unsigned young Godsmack perform. They opened for the black crowes
