- I have been asked to listen to Billy Idol for quite some time now. I don't know how big of a following he has or how much of an impact he made on music but from all the requests I've been getting, to say I have been excited is an understatement. I know one Billy Idol song so far and that is White Wedding. I'd never heard Rebel Yell though so here it is.
Here is my reaction to hearing Billy Idol - Rebel Yell for the first time. I hope you enjoy it!

Hi everyone. If you aren’t subscribed yet but enjoy the videos, please consider hitting that subscribe button. Love that you take the time to ❤ comments! Very thoughtful young man. Thank you
This is the problem with youtube and other social sites, there are people out there always looking to screw others over ...there needs to be better security... I have other reactor channels I like to view were I have been "sent messages by the supposed creator". I always used Xtreme language when dealing with them...the algorithm really likes that.. to be honest I haven't seen it for over 2 months now. No authentic creator would do such things . And no honest subscriber would create a fake account.
done, subbed
it's Hair band Rock n roll with just enough metal to make parents mad LOL
Just so you know, I report ALL scammers.
Also, I have done something I don't do very often when I subscribe. I rang the bell man!! Yeah
As we say in Texas; y'all be safe. Everyone!!
This song is special to me because one day, my dad and my youngest son had gone to the store. They pulled into the driveway and sat there blaring this song as they sang it at the top of their lungs, in pure joy. My youngest was about 8 at the time. Both he and his grampa are gone now, each from different forms of cancer, only a few years apart. So every time I hear this, I can see them sitting there singing happily - " More more more!"
☮️💜🤘
God Bless You ❤😊
So sorry for your loss.He and grandpa are still together...Singing on the other side...🎶
I am so glad this song gives you happy memories of your departed loved ones.
Hopefully they're still jamming together. 🙏🤙😎
Can we appreciate the fact that no one really expected him to survive the 80's and here he is still rocking his concerts? How's that for epic?
What a voice he has! Insane how effortlessly he can go from a soothing smooth voice to a literal rebel yell!!! What a talent Billy Idol is!!!
🤘🤘🤘
It’s funny all these rockstars outlived the pop star sweethearts like MJ, George Michael, Prince, Whitney etc…
What's insane...is his voice is BETTER than it was back then.
He puts out solid music still, too.
I totally did NOT expect him to survive the 80's!!!
@@maryreilly5092 he barely did. His newer songs Bitter Taste and Running From The Ghost are about that actually
Steve Stevens is one of the most underrated guitarists alive. He's always had the respect of other guitarists, just didn't get the lime light as much as he deserved.
He is still going strong, playing like a beast!
He’s amazing!!!!!
Love Steve Stevens!!!
Came here to say this
absolutely agree w/you !!!!
My favourite guitarist. I love his Flamenco a go go album
Everybody out there ready to scream "More More More" while pumping the fist? ✊😁
Wasn't quite thinking -Pumping a Fist- more ...More... MORE!!!
“dancing with myself” and “eyes without face” both are amazing 😍
Eyes is a whole vibe ♥️
@@tempest_91 yesss 🙂↕️❤️
I always thought of Billy Idol as the pop star who dressed punk, but played rock and roll. He kind of built his own niche.
Best description ever my friend!
It was a strange time. If Punk and Hair Bands had a child that played Rock, it's Billy Idol.
Billy started off in the punk band generation x, king rocker and into the valley of the dolls are their biggest sellers.
@@andrewwilliamson5121 Didn't know that. Thanks. I'll check it out. If I can find it.
@@magicbrownie1357 you're welcome, hope you find and enjoy them
I remember when this song used to come on MTV every 30 minutes in the 80’s. Great time to be a kid.
Man was it a great time to be a kid growing up? This song will take you back
yeah if your cable service got mtv you saw white wedding rebel yell and dancing with myself.
You can never go wrong with some Billy Idol, the king of the sneer.
Well said...
It fills me with utter joy seeing someone younger than me realising that pop/rock music from the 70's and 80's was so superior to anything that's produced these days.
69 years old and still love Billy Idol😄😄
Then it will please you to know, my 4-month-old niece goes absolutely ape-shit for this song, lol. It's timeless.
Same age... had the same haircut and colour that time and have it now again... but in grey...😂❤
I saw him in concert several years back and he still rocks it’
SO glad I grew up in the 80’s. No time like it, and never will be again.
Next Billy Idol song must be Mony Mony!!!
Such a powerful duel with his backing vocals!!
Their sync is so unbelievably on point!!
That's a cover. It was originally done by Tommy James and the Shondells in 1968.
Billy Idol is a LEGEND🤘🏻No need to apologise. It's an absolute banger. Enjoy
Dancing with Myself is a good Billy Idol tune.
He has so many good songs ❤
I think that was his first hit on MTV. At least that’s how I remember it. Always adored him.
YESSS
Yes!
What is amazing is the Billy and Steve are still playing these tunes together both live and acoustic. They are nearly 70 years old and still sound great!
He's a grandpa now. 🤯Cool grandpa to have! 😎
Yep. And both still brilliant. They recently had a tune out being played all the time.
FUN Changeup!! Steve Stevens is the REAL DEAL...
Fcking BEAST 🔥🔥🔥
Steve Stevens is definitely an underrated talent on guitar.
True dat
Imagine this being the soundtrack to your life when you're in your 20's and we were all wild and crazy...🤣 It was fun.
Hell yes! We were so damn lucky.
@@steph____no Mobile phones
Cradle of Love is another good Billy Idol tune
One thing you have to understand is that when Billy idol first came out, Metal wasn’t all over the place. So he was kind of heavy for pop music.
Metal was out before Billy. This song came out and was a favorite with the strippers off post.
@@mrbamfo5000 read the words! When Billy Idol “first” came out, “metal wasn’t huge”. I lived through it. Frequently in and out of the studio with friends, etc…
Metal was huge in the 70s. Most popular rock baNds were Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, lots of heavy rock in the 79s.
@@donnadubyak6504 Hard rock was big in the 70’s but Zeppelin and DP are not metal. Sabbath was always metal.
Back in the late 1970s Billy Idol fronted a punk band called Generation X. "Wild Youth", "King Rocker", "Ready Steady Go", and "One Hundred Punks" are a few of their songs if you'd like to check them out.
Listened to generation x on cassette
Dude plays his part PERFECTLY. He's the epitome of cool.
This dude still killing it! Grate choice!!
"I dunno what it is with these songs, man."
It's the fuckin' 80s, bro. That decade was legendary. . . .as you're finding out. lol I was lucky enough to grow up in the 80s and it was awesome then, as it is today. lol
U.K. Native. Early 80s rocked with this stuff.
The 80s were the best generation. No music even comes close. I love ALL music, but the 80s will always be closest to my heart.
@DavidThomas me 2 mate sony Walkmans on loud
@@Danno1983 Bro, now you make me want to run out and get a walkman now 🤜🤛

Steve Stevens the guitarist is one badass. This is the early 80's where music was evolving from punk into pop/metal/hard rock. The keyboard was basically I requirement.
The 80's were so lit. The weird clothes, hair and insanely great music. It was common to find people listening to all kinds of genres, too.
I'm 62 and LOVE turning this tune UP and driving 80 miles on the freeway!! Just Awesome track! Thanks for reaacting to Mr IDOL!!
Yeah!
rock is not about heaviness, it is about spirit
Billy Idol is one of the greatest things the Brits ever gave the US 😂
I was a dj in the 80's - weddings, school dances etc. Rebel Yell always got the crowd going. And Steve Stevens, the guitarist, was and still is well respected.
I don't blame you for pausing it so much, little brother. I've been listening to it for 40yrs & it still ain't old to me. I was 9 when it came out 🇺🇸🇬🇧
The Rebel Yell music video is played on a TV in the movie Big with Tom Hanks
80’s were a wicked time to to be a teenager. Chandeliers swung on the ceiling with floors buckling to a shitload of great music!!!
You got goosebumps… imagine seeing these concerts live! Nothing like it today.… the 80s were the most amazing time of my life. I wish I could go back every day!
@Steph we all do 😢😢
It is an absolute joy to be able to watch your reactions, and actually see what great music can do to a human soul. This experience is changing you, in the best possible way 😊
Welcome to more 80's music. We had goosebumps nonstop in that decade.
Obscure fun fact. During the club scene in the early 90's... the crowd would yell in between verses of Billy Idols song Mony Mony. The lyrics went... Here she comes now saying Mony Mony. And then the crowd would yell "hey everybody get laid, get fucked" for some reason. They did it between every verse and I'm not sure why. It was bizarre and a bit immature but funny too. I can't help think of that everytime I hear Billy Idol.
When we were someplace where we had to clean it up a bit, we’d change it to,”Hey! Hey what?! She’s fat, I’m drunk!” During the chorus we would also chant,”f’ing bullsh*t” during all the “so goods”. Yes, it was childish, but that was the 80s! It was a blast!
I remember that 😁
That goes way back. The big amusement park near me has a ride that spins around and blasts rock music, everyone screams those in between parts, like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
I still do this😜
Our principal stopped the school dance when we were all yelling it. Then we cracked up Turbo Lover.
Graduated in '85. When this came on the radio in the car, I would LOSE MY MIND, almost killed myself speeding, 16 years old, pumping my fist with the windows down, speakers blaring. This banger STILL amps me up!😅😅😊😊
Billy Idol is full of personality and you definitely want to explore more of his music. He was just plain fun.
The 80s were my teenage years. Best music ever! Great reaction.
Dancing with Myself is another great Billy Idol song! You'll love and enjoy it!
To Be A Lover is another great song from Billy Idol!
Totally. Yhe video is epic
Ah the Transatlantic double threat of Billy Idol on vocals and Steve Steven’s on guitar happy days
Flesh for fantasy and Eyes without a face are great songs.
Billy was one who really lived the rockstar life with crazy antics ,partying, over indulgence, hotel trashing etc etc etc ....
There is no age for good music, Billy Idol rocks!
In the midnight hour she cried More more more!!!! Love Billy Idol will happily join you down the rabbit hole. White Wedding, Eyes without a face are great for next songs
Absolute no doubt banger of the 80's
I absolutely love Billy Idol. I was in my teen years when he came out and I thought that he absolutely rocked. He's from the UK, I know that he was injured in a very serious motorcycle accident and it kind of stunted his career. He's awesome. Love you MollyBoy. Peace
I was at a multi-band concert YEARS AGO… but still past Idol’s prime. These concerts always have one or two “surprise guests”… and they usually aren’t great. So people would file out in droves to go smoke, go to the bathroom, etc.
Then the announcer said: “BILLYYYY IDOLLLL”. Imagine about 8000 people, halfway out the gates ALL RUSHING TO GET BACK IN. And there he was… the hair, the lip, good ole Billy. It was awesome.
He was with out a doubt one of the biggest stars of the 80s
I so miss the 80's.
Billy Idol is one of my all-time favorite artist. He was sensational in the 80's combining Punk, New Wave, & Rock n Roll. We thought that you needed to see him because he is British and had his following in the Michael Jackson era. Enjoy!
Rock and roll, while definitely a sound, is more an attitude. This is rock and roll. Roll with it and ROCK OUT!!! Fuckin' turn it up. Dance around the room while listening to Billy's "Dancin' With Myself," another banger.
Great song !!!!!! Rock structure, Pop sound and Punk attitude !!! The perfect blend of those 3 things. Long live the 80's !!!!!!!!
How about giving the cult a listen she sells sanctuary is a classic to try for starters love the channel 👌🏽
Rain
Wildflower
Lil Devil
Love Removal Machine
Sun King
Fire Woman
Can't go wrong with The Cult
@@BFNope 100% agree
Absolutely. Axel Rose said he had modelled himself on the lead singer to an extent. She Sells Sanctuary is fantastic.
Billy Idol is in a class by himself. He's still rocking out just as hard and with just as much charisma and his voice at 67!
The Rebel Yell originated in the American Civil War. When confederate troops were ordered to attack, they would scream at the top of their lungs. It had to be terrifying in battle to hear advancing troops, sometime 50 thousand of them, screaming and running toward Union lines. There is also a rather nice bourbon whiskey by that name
Molly boy- WASP are a band you need to cover. Heaven’s hung in black, the idol is another. Good luck on your music adventure
Great request I loved wasp back in the day..blackie lawless in scream until you like it and wild child iconic song's and videos.
F*#k Like a Beast, I Wanna Be Somebody, L.O.V.E. Machine, Blind in Texas!! Hell yeah!!
So excited🤗 You are getting great requests, so much you need to see & hear while having your mind blown! Love that you're loving the different genres of rock 👌 Doing an excellent job!!! 🤘
This represents the best side of the 80's, always puts you in a good mood. Just a song you want to listen to to pump you up 💪🏻
In the 80's we listened to every thing, Iron Maiden, Rush, Zeppelin, Bel Biv Devo, Billy Idol, anybody everything. I miss that now 🤘
Billy Idol was considered fairly edgy as far as pop went back then. Great performer, and many songs people dont always realize were his. Enjoy the journey.
It's more popi but 80s are always fun
Billy idol is so under rated. ❤😂
Fuck yeah! 80s punk pop. Billy Idol ruled in the 80s.
Even had a softer love ballad... "Eyes Without a Face". Topped the charts.
Sorry you guys are saying it worng. Its Billy F'n Idol
😂
😂
Rather like Guns n' F'n Roses?
When Billy Idol broke big in the 80's and his videos were playing all the time on MTV...I couldn't help but think...."Oh...Elvis and Marilyn Monroe had a kid!" lol
Billy Idol was my mom’s favorite artist growing up so she played it all the time around the house
Me and my daughter saw billy idol in concert and loved it!! High energy through the whole concert!
This Song is Still AWESOME after all these Years
I don't think Steve Stevens ever got the proper respect he deserved as a guitarist. Maybe because of coming from the punk side of things? He's one stellar kick ass guitarist!
Billy Idol + Steve Stevens = 🔥🔥🔥
An 80's pop infused hairband without the pop or hairband label, with a singer with enough charisma to carry a solo name , giving middle finger punk vibes. Epic!
You wouldn't have Billy Idol without The Clash ❤💚🩷🖤
Billy idol was one of my favorites growing up
This cracks me up. I was in high school listening to this in the 80s. We rocked! Thanks for the flashback!
You've got a good ear for being able to tell what music is from the 80s. Billy Idol (68) and guitarist Steve Stevens (65) are still performing together today. Both are music legends!
Billy Idol has a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and interesting fact: He was supposed to play the evil Terminator in Terminator 2: Judgement Day but got in a motorcycle accident and could not do the role and was replaced by Robert Patrick. He was also limited in performing in his Cradle of Love video as well which is another banger along with Mony, Mony; Eyes Without a Face, Dancing With Myself, and Hot in the City.
I LOVE Hot in the City
In the 80's you could NOT go to a house party without steam rolling off the streets from a hot summer nights after a summer rain, the house your approached is jumping from people dancing and Billy Idol jamming in the air as you couldn't wait to get inside , get your red solo cup and find the keg!
Molly, this is a genX anthem. Billy doesn't really have much of a catalog, but the good songs are great. Once you hear them, they're stuck in your head forever.
I grew up on Billy Idol, he was my dad’s favorite!! “Eyes without a Face” by Billy Idol is so great! It IS a bit slower but amazing all the same.
Billy was first in punk band Generation X and then went solo and became iconic
Billy Idol is just different. Unique in his own way.. He could have been a singer in any band 70s, 80s, 90s 2000s.
Let’s give some love to Steve Stevens! He is a shredder and really makes the band.
I cant describe how big billy was when i graduated high school 1985
Billy Idol is from your side of the pond born in Middlesex, England. Im supprised you have not heard of this famous song. I recomend Billy Idol - Cradle Of Love !
This came out when I was in highschool. We all LOVED Billy Idol! This song hits so hard, and it's great driving music.
If you enjoy this, listen to Billy's 'Flesh For Fantasy's and the classic 'White Wedding'....!!!!❤️
If you looked up the definition of Cool in the dictionary back in the day you’d have seen nothing but a photo of Billy Idol.
Billy Idol was more like the punk sound. Definitely a jam no matter what you call it. Lol
Isn’t he one of your’s? He’s a gem here even if England doesn’t appreciate their own.
Steve Stevens making his guitar sound like an 80s sci fi B-Movie space battle was epic to my 13 year old ears in 1984
I had some mates with a rather good pub band in the late 80's. They used to play Rebel Yell as the last song of the night to a room full of drunken lunatics. Good times.
Billy's awesome. The Billy Idol rabbit hole is more like a tunnel through the planet and out the other side. Pack a lunch.
Seen this tour in 1984 at 15 years old with some girls at my HS. I was stoned! Lol. The good old days!
I always considered Billy Idol as pop/punk. Love his little lip curl. I believe he was the inspiration for Spike on Buffy.
I thought the lip curl was a nod to Elvis!
Billy was supposed to be the T-1000 in Terminator 2 but was involved in a bad accident on his motorbike. Billy was part of the Gen-X and one of Britain's best
My son listened to this song and I loved it also.
Rebel Yell is the best Billy Idol song.
