I'm only 2 minutes into it too. Thus far your reaction is what I live for. The anticipation watching you until the finale is nothing short of pure entertainment. 😁
Spe-illbinding mE-dia, when word-S dance with your spirit . . . . high regards
NEVER interrupt the Master when he is on the drums, he's been playing them since he was 5yrs old, and he's one of the best drummers in the world,!!
Omg you’re right 🤦🏻♀️
Dude you are 100% correct. Don't interrupt when he is on the drums.
so true.. he is best drummer.. too bad he got ill and now cant play drums 😪
totally agree this guy is a numpty
@@MKitchen75 But now his son is playing it in the concerts - he is great too ;-)
Rule 1 never ever interrupt the drum solo
Rule 2 refer to rule 1
Word!😄
Yeah. It’s like fight club 😂
☮️💙💙💙🔥🔥
Love it!
THIS!! GEEEZE! 🤬
Never stop Phil in his drum solo, ever.
He is now paralyzed.
100$ CORRECT!!!!
He lame af for that...
I am nearly 70 and it still knocks me out. You got to listen with out interruption
No interruptions!! So many of the reviewers ruin it especially for themselves
He needs to see Phil’s face while singing the lyrics. SO knowing and angry! The whole meaning of the song is in his expressions.
He's from a time when musicians had talent.
Plenty of talented young musicians around, sir.
Maybe you've just forgotten where to look for 'm.
(that's coming from a 60 years old)
@@mourlyvold64 one or two but even then not of the quality of my youth.
Agree
@@daveloboda1769 You suck. Listen to Billy Strings, The Mountain Goats, System of a Down,
or similar.
😊😊😊😊 most definitely.
He is the master of timing. He gets to the drums at the precisely right moment and doesn't miss a beat, with his hands or feet, while his voice remains perfectly steady. That is talent we don't see anymore.
I think that’s the most famous drum drop in history. THE Mr Phil Collins! Love to watch you young guys see a real singer/drummer/songwriter do it!
I love watching people discover this song for the first time! Phil Collins is a master on the drums. This song is timeless. So glad you liked it!
Phil wrote the lyrics plus all the music for every instrument played. Genius!!!
OMG Honey don't stop when He's Playing the drums!!! Omg❤❤❤
Most of the music leading up is foreplay. The drums are, well, you know 😉 Right?
Never ever interrupt the drummer, but your reaction, made up for it, brilliant❤❤
Fun fact, on the studio version Phil Collins played ALL the instruments and mixed them in, a real talent!
Wow...amazing
People need to step it up because who can play the drums and sing? That is pro skill right there.
Don’t pause during most epic drum solo ever. Total buzz kill.
I agree
Right, these kids don’t know nothing about our music. They need to learn respect. Don’t pause a classic.
And then talk for 10 mins...noooooo 😅
He's a youngster! At least he had the good sense to rewind it back.
Some of us have been playing the air drums since 1981 when this song came out, and still do to this day....
It’s therapy 🤣🫡
@@chunkymonkeyent5636 This is the most iconic drum fill in the history of rock, followed a clopse 2nd by the drum fill in the middle of John Cougar's 'Jack and Diane'. But, if you want to hear the absolute GOAT listen to Neil Peart from Rush. He is known as "your favorite drummers favorite drummer" for a taste of him check out 'YYZ Live in Rio' and his drum solo from Frankfurt Germany for starters. Subbing to see if you go down that rabbit hole.
I've worn out three sets of air drums playing this.
Way back in prehistory I played in a band that did this song. Every time we played it every guy in the place air-drummed that lick.
It inspired some of us to take playing the drums. I was one since 1988. He still rocks big time.
He was always a drummer first. He didn’t want to sing, but had to step in once, and history made.
His timing, his facial expressions, his demeanor… Phil is the man. Simply Iconic! Look at the audience, their faces say everything!
I think this is the most epic live performance of all time..
The message behind his song is that he was going through a divorce. His ex wife had cheated on him and years after divorcing her, he wrote this song about it. The betrayal and love lost. The words,” I saw them with my own two eyes”, it’s all been a pack of lies”. He’s mad and everything gets you up to the drums. Then he releases his anger, emotions etc in the culmination of the song. He’s a master. Not many can touch him. I’ve seen him in concert twice and he’s AMAZING. His live versions can almost always be better then the studio release.
And that people is the power of music.
Phil was a legendary drummer for years before he was like "yeah, I guess I can kind of sing? maybe?" I love seeing people who don't know that react to him live for the first time. Great reaction!
I love how the drums rise up to his level and he sits down just in time...whoaaaa
Congratulations you have been Philed! Enjoy!
He is one of the very best drummer’s I’ve ever heard, I love this song just be quite and listen please, this song is incredible
“Please tell me there’s some drums”😅😅😅
Exactly that was hilarious I discovered this video because everybody knows the song but when I saw this video I had to share it. It's on my playlist. I love Phil collins And you should Listen to against all odds and phil collins and philip bailey easy lover but the making of the video is beautiful❤❤❤❤❤
😂😂😂
One of those hysterical moments!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
I literally giggled out loud when he said that. 😂
😂😂😂
I had to follow after this reaction.... he's one of the best ever. Glad you appreciate our era of music.
Phil Collins one of the best drummers of all time and even a better singer!!
I am a 71 year old from England, and Phil Colins is my favourite English singer all round man who was once in genisis until he went solo and he is the best England has to offer xx
I saw Genesis at knebworth in about 1993 ..
Absolutely phenomenal, Phil came on dressed in a black T shirt and jeans just like a regular bloke off the street, but his voice was even better than studio versions, druming of course was first class , outstanding performance, what a day that was 👍🎶🎵.
There was a funny moment on that day aswell ,phill noticed a bloke up a tree behind us ,and they panned the camera on him so the audience could see the bloke on the screen ,who then decided to relieve himself from up in the tree 🤣🤣
He is a genius! Love, love, love him, song writer, musician, performer, actor, all round brilliant man. The best we are so proud of him🇬🇧
I'm 76 and from the Haight Ashbury in San Francisco. The world is very small. Loved Genesis and love Phil Collins even more. He's better now than he was then.
Gotta hear it without stopping to appreciate Phil Collins.......................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never stop the drums part...never
It's a hanging offence....
@@skwervin1
Better yet, you never get to hear it again
WOWWWWWW!!! I LUV PHIL COLLINS!!!!!!!! I LUV, LUV THIS SONG!!!!!!!!
Dude the suspense is a killer.
If you would keep your eyes open when he hits that drum solo you'd get a fuller experience.
Such CLASS! And what a sound! Chef's kiss!
I love to see the joy on you youngsters faces when you appreciate us older folks music. love what you are doing keep it up.
Phil Collins! My very first concert at 16 years old. I saw him do this in person. We were at an outside venue called, “Poplar Creek” near Chicago and we had lawn seats. It was MAGICAL! ❤❤❤
Phil is that rare breed of lead singer & drummer! One of my favorites of all time! ❤
Phil Collins is one of the BEST drummers EVER!!!
I LOVE reactions from newbies who are amazed at greatness!
The beginning of this always reminds me of a heartbeat.
When you had to stop and said wow ..that was priceless 😊
Phil Collins is exceptional!!! One of the best EVER. Many amazing songs.
How are you gonna say that then not share none of the songs you like for me to react to
The man is a LEGEND and a Master musician. I knew you would cry.
Phil Collins and Genesis were GODS in the 80's.
One of the beautiful things about Phil Collins is he is now touring with his son who now plays the drums. He’s just as good as his dad!
His son does the solo portion effortlessly as did his dad! Phil can’t do it anymore because of his health.
Wow . How do I find video of this ?
One of the best!!!!!
Phil Collins started out as the drummer for the band Genesis in the late sixties and early seventies, later started his solo career.
He didn't start as a drummer, he is the drummer. Always has been.
He also did a few years as the Genesis front man.
@@fridaylong2812 He took over singing duties when Peter Gabriel left. He was their DRUMMER. Has always been the DRUMMER. Just one that can sing. Look, they told them to hire a new guy. Phil didn't have the face for it. The reason this solo Album is just his picture and called FACE VALUE. He's the drummer. Always has been.
I have followed him since 1977, he is the MAN!
My all time favorite song....you don't see this kind of artist anymore. And one of the best if not the best drummers ever.
*I'm literally crying because this was my era and it brings back so many memories and mistakes. It just makes you want to go back where life was better at times. And to correct my life.* ♥️💔😭
THIS MAN IS ONE OF THE BEST. HE HAS THE VOICE YOU WANT TO LISTEN TO ALL DAY LONG. I LOVE IT WHEN HE PLAYS THE DRUMS. HE IS SIMPLY AMAZING. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE THIS MAN.
He's one of the most under recognized drummers of all time. Period
I've watched at least 20 reactions to this performance and yours was in my top 3!❤Phil is the Goat!
Never. Stop. The. Drum. Drop. Ever!!!
You may not be able to see it very well in this video, but the drum kit rises up from the beneath the stage floor as he approaches it. I saw this show live and we all went crazy when this happened!
you are one lucky person....
And some 9c you are like little children who have to spit out the surprise and main feature to spoil it for every new listener! Wow, you are so cool! Want a brownie button???
@@conniesaratoga3194 ok karen. go back to your safe space.
@@conniesaratoga3194 WTF are you talking about?
I read her comment and was confused too😂
These new so called artists…I’m sorry but are a joke. This man created this song in the 80’s when I was 12’ years old…I’ll never forget it because I got “goosebumps” when I heard it back then. He’s an ICONIC LEGEND. I’m almost 60’ now and I miss Artists who can actually sing songs of Substance and Top 🔝 Level Instrumentalists. Thank you young man for reacting to this Stunning Performance by Phil Collins. Merry Christmas 🎁 2023’.
Check out his work when he was young. Phil is a legend...
I watch a lot of reactions to this performance because I really enjoy seeing people’s faces at the drum break. But I also love seeing when people react with joy at that part, with true appreciation for just how freaking epic it is.
My favorite Phil Collins song. Bar None. One of the greatest male vocalists and drummer's of all time. What an exceptional talent. Love me some Phil Collins.
Phil Collins is an icon! Playing drums and singing at the same time is very difficult at best. He does it with ease. Love your reaction!
The reason they are 2 minutes into it, is because they are Live. No Auto-Tune, just pure ass talent!! Its worth the wait ESPECIALLY when Phil gets behind those drums!!!!🐾🐾
I wanted to cry and laugh at the same time, when you heard the drums.. stunning reaction..
We know Phil and his drums since God was a child.. his the Best drummer ever.
NEVER stop during the drum solo!!!
Would you believe that this song was in the original Miami Vice series? It is the ultimate multi-generational song that has adapted to new music tech. And now, knowing where Phil is in his life and health. It brings me to tears.
Phil Collins Def in top 10 of all time ! one of the goats
Listening in 2023!!! Awesome DRUMMER and Singer. Plays multi instruments. Classic. Never tired.
This live is better than the studio version, and that is so rare. Also: It shouldn’t be physically possible to pound drums while singing smoothly. But he made it look effortless.
Phil is an actual drummer, which is why he always played the drums in his own music.. among other instruments. The man is a true talent!!
Omg I absolutely looovvveee the reaction!!! Yes and yes still gives me chills with those drums!!❤❤❤❤
Phil has, I believe, one of the most distinctive voices EVER!!!
Phil Collins is an exceptional drummer
Drums are his THING! Yes. Phil is a MONSTER on drums. Believe it.
THE INTRO SETS THE SCENE. Sets the mood. This song isn't like any other song on the planet. You have to ease into it and the beat drop is EVERYTHING. The electric guitar, the piano and his voice is ALL you need until the beat drops for the most EPIC drum solo in history in any song. Phil is PURE GENIUS.
Love your reaction!! Phil is the best!!!
Do not pause as the drums come in! This is one of the most famous drum breaks in the world. This man is one of the best ever drummers from the band Genesis.
Now go back and listen to it all the way thru without stopping.
He’s the master. Bow down
Love to watch another human being who can "feel the music" I watch these reaction videos over and over because it's so cool to see that moment when people experience what true great musicians can create when the work together.
Yep it's all about deliverance!!!❤❤❤
He has the most distinct voice as well ,The Fabulous Phil Collins, "Master" !!!!
He's a badass drummer. They once strapped him into a drumset that spun upside down while he was drumming and singing. He's awesome!
It's always nice to introduce someone to Phil Collins -- arguably one of the best rock drummers of the 20th and 21st centuries.
This performance is something like 30 years after he first released it and it NEVER loses its greatness.
Phil Collins has always been a drummer as well as a vocalist.
Da G King Phil Yessss Sirrrr ❤️🔥💪🏾
I saw Phil perform this live in 1982 or 83 at Indiana University. Best concert I have ever seen. I am older and have seen quite a few. ❤
How lucky was that generation to be able to go and watch these type of artists.
It's so much fun seeing someone watch this for the first time.
This is a masterpiece
This performance is in 2006 when he was 55 years. The song was released in 1981 when he was 30 (and still had hair).
I’m a 54 year old mom of 2 and your reaction made my day 😊
פיל קולינס הוא אגדה מהלכת....הוא איקון❤❤❤❤מהמם.ביצוע מדהים❤❤❤❤אהבתי את התגובה שלך👍👍👍🫶🫶🫶
Stop thinking instant gratification start thinking musical foreplay
Phil’s ABSOLUTELY greatest video! EVERYTHING about it!! 🥰♥️
How did I miss this reaction!! Love it ❤❤❤🎉🎉
That was either the best reaction Ever or the best acting job Ever but, either way.... Loved it!
His son Nic is as good as he is. Every musician on that stage is a legend in his own right.
He is an amazing performer! Excellent singing, piano player and drummer. He plays so many instruments. May Jesus continue to bless you and your family
You have experienced a legend and a true artists.
Always funny to see the instant gratification generation learn about anticipation and true release. LOL
Phil was the drummer for Genesis before he went solo he is a very talented drummer one of the best there is.
My generation rocked…!
When he said "Please tell me there's some drums" ... I'm sitting here laughing knowing what upcoming.
