I actually got to see filler in Oklahoma City on this very tour in 2004. It’s the greatest drum drop in rock history.
I've just watched this over and over again on reaction videos which I love, and I have to say your video was hands down the best. When you see Phil Collins perform he fills your spirit until it feels like you are going to explode. The guy in the audience showed it perfectly. I love your reaction to Phil Collins' performance - you really get it don't you. I've subscribed to your channel on the strength of that.
I heard Phil Collins tell the greatest story on TV. he said every time they rehearsed this he would do the drum fill a little different because it wasn't meant to be anything special and this is the one that stuck and now we think of it as the most iconic!
Phil Collins is best known as the drummer/singer of the rock band Genesis in the 70's & later for his solo career. He has had so many great hits such as "Another Day In Paradise", "I Don't Care Anymore", "Against All Odds", "One More Night", "Sussudio", "Take Me Home", "Two Hearts", "A Groovy Kind Of Love", "I Wish It Would Rain Down", "You Can't Hurry Love" etc.

@@littleogeechee223 Sorry to contradict you, but yours is the first comment I've seen to deny the divorce saga with respect to this song. "I saw what you did... with my own two eyes" is definitely referencing the story that he actually caught his wife cheating on him. Still, your opinion...
@@littleogeechee223 it's true, he did write this song about his wife cheating. You're right also. Why can't he put his feelings into more than 1 song?

Great reaction. I love seeing younger people react to this epic buildup to this song. There will never be another Phil Collins with both the voice and on the drums.❤❤ So happy he was in my generation of the best Rock & Roll.
Great reaction especially when Phil started playing the drums ur reaction to that was priceless Easy Lover by Phil Collins and Phil Bailey is a must listen 😊😊😊
@juliemanarin4127 - if you're referring to Phil taking over in Genesis, Peter finished the Lamb tour before leaving the band. It was all planned beforehand and not in the spur of the moment. The thing is they auditioned a bunch of different singers before they talked Phil into giving it a go. He sounded like Peter while still being distinct so they ran with it.

I watch every reaction of this performance. The ambience is electric and it is a journey. I get goosebumps every darn time and I have seen it thousands of times lol. This live performance is one of my all time faves and definitely the best version of this song IMO. 'Against all odds' is another of his songs that is a must and the original recorded version is the most angsty and passionate version. He has so many great songs and his music videos are usually very fun and often shows his sense of humor eg: 'I can't dance' by Genesis (the band he was in); 'Can't hurry love' is such a great song and super fun music vid. 'Another day in paradise' is beautiful, sad and heartbreaking. There are so many more as others have mentioned. Phil is a legend and his songs are an amazing rabbit-hole to fall down :). Hugs from Oz
And that is why this is probably the most iconic performance by any artist ever. Also, this was "live", no lipsyncing here. Phil has tons of hits from his time at the beginning of his career when he was in the group "Genesis", then going solo. The Genesis drummer-turned-vocalist was almost 30 years old when his first solo single, "In the Air Tonight," became a number two hit in his native U.K. (the song was a Top 20 hit in the U.S.). Between 1984 and 1990, Collins had a string of 13 straight U.S. Top Ten hits. ❤🇬🇧🎶🎼🎙🥁

I remember seeing Phil Collins on the "Hello, I Must Be Going" tour, 1983. I saw him at the Warner Theater, in Washington D.C. and it was an unbelievable concert! They did all the hits and deep cuts from his first two albums and they even did some of Phil's Brand X music (progressive Fusion Jazz/Rock, from the 1970's and 80's)!! I had been a fan of Genesis for about 8 years at that point, and I had seen Genesis several times also, but that Solo Phil concert was one I will never forget. Oh, and one more thing: I saw Peter Gabriel in concert later in the same month, at the same theater, on his "Security" tour (w "Shock the Monkey" single). You cannot imagine how awesome that was to see BOTH of those Genesis alumni GREATS in concert, in the same 2 or 3 week period!

Trick of the Tail was the first album I bought with my pocket money, second was Farewell to Kings by Rush and still have them on vinyl bought in the seventies and played regularly. Truly showing my age lol
Great reaction, man! Love how genuine you are with these. I'm sure others have already commented a lot of this but Phil's one of the all time greats in the music world. Started off as the drummer for Genesis in 1971, taking over lead vocals as well in 1976. He's one of the greatest prog rock drummers ever. He has a thousand hits with Genesis and a thousand hits as a solo artist. You couldn't watch TV or turn on a radio in the 80s without hearing Phil's voice somewhere. You really should do a deep dive into both his solo career and his career with Genesis. Some highlights for me are, as a solo artist, In the Air Tonight (I would give the live version from No Ticket Required a watch, it's my favorite live version), I Don't Care Anymore, Thru These Walls, The Roof Is Leaking, Take Me Home, Don't Lose My Number, Against All Odds, Something Happened On the Way To Heaven, Another Day In Paradise, and I Wish It Would Rain Down, just to name a few. With Genesis, Mama, Home By the Sea/Second Home By the Sea, Dodo/Lurker, Abacab, Afterglow, Dance On A Volcano, Duchess, Turn It On Again, Tonight Tonight Tonight, Land Of Confusion, No Son Of Mine, Dreaming While You Sleep, just to get you started. There's also a wealth of instrumentals to listen to where he tears apart the drum kit. Keep them coming, man. Love your channel!
So many Phil and Genesis songs! Mama, I wish it would rain down, Man on the corner, Home by the sea, Misunderstanding, and Easy lover are just a few of my favs.
Oh dude, you need to listen to Phil Collins back in the day with Genesis. He goes way back. You just never heard all he has done. This is towards the end of him doing live concerts. Watch Genesis live at Wembley. Listen to old Genesis, Phil was their drummer, Peter Gabriel out front singing. Later, Gabriel left, Phil came down front.......but also continued to sing and drum. So much to listen to. He's an unbelievable talented guy. Not to mention all the stuff he's done in writing songs for movie soundtracks.
