They are lip syncing here. This is the studio version of the song. There are at least four voices heard when Barry goes off on his own. But yes, they sounded amazing live.
They are, it’s not a live performance. Recognising that doesn’t take away from their singing but this has 27 vocal tracks and even Barry, good as he is, couldn’t do that on his own!
@@maelilmc4079 You missed the point. The Bee Gees talent means they didn't have to lip sync when they were singing LIVE. I think you knew that but are playing ignorant. The Bee Gee are one of the most legendary vocal groups in music history. They wrote some of the biggest songs over the years, not just for themselves but other artists. They were absolutely prolific, outstanding song writers on top of being outstanding vocalists. All of these factors make them extraordinary talents.
The BeeGees had top ten hits in 5 decades. They wrote all their songs and wrote hits for other singers too. In the 70's the Brothers Gibb (including brother Andy had 4 of the #1 hits of the entire decade). Ridiculously talented family. Love them. RIP Andy, Maurice and Robin.
@@siggycoe3372 Yes. That's what I said. Really heartbreaking when Maurice died as he was still relatively young and died on the operating table. He never got over Andy's death.
Welcome to the world of the Bee Gees. Very few groups DOMINATED the airwaves for as long as they did. The Disco era was theirs, the movie Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta was like a list of their Greatest Hits and was a cultural classic, and they churned #1 songs one after another. They were so much on the airwaves that a fatigue set in, and in the backlash that followed, they had to write songs for other artists, and those songs hit #1 as well! That's how talented these brothers were! And you will not be surprised that so many other black reactors had thought the Bee Gees were black too! It's one of the most entertaining things to watch their face when they see them on the screen for the first time!
Have you seen their interview with Phil Donahue? Barry talks about black singers being the best in the world. They loved the Isley Brothers too. ua-cam.com/video/x5eLLmpulqI/v-deo.html
I feel like Barry’s voice is nearly like another musical instrument. It’s perfection and gives me chills every time I listen to it. I was born in 1963 and I feel blessed to have been raised with the best music ever! And yes he was definitely one of the panty droppers from the 70s. Lol
😆 finally, someone said it 👏 men didn't like them as much because they didn't know what love he was talking about, and all the women wanted someone to love them with as much feeling.
Ottis Redding worked with them before he died in 1967. These guys were geniuses when it came to music. They knew how to blend voices, yet they had their own unique sound.
To love somebody was written for Otis Redding, but he died before he could record it. So the Bee Gees recorded it. Documentary named how do you mend a broken heart is very informative. Watch it!! NO LIPSYNCING!!
I saw them in PERSON 4 times!!! They never EVER lip synced at any concert I went to......in fact they were one of the best groups LIVE to see perform. Not many are perfect like them, they are like the 'HOME FREE' group of this generation, check them out......perfection on stage!!! The BG's were brothers..................from the same parents. They were born in England, but started their stardom in Australia........Barry Lead, Robin (RIP) Harmony and the best sounding voice of all three and Maurice (RIP) is on the keys and harmony only. Listen to Robin Gibb doing 'I STARED A JOKE'. It will blow your mind!
This is the first group ever to donate all proceeds of a song to charity with this song it was given to UNICEF and still makes them millions. These brothers were just amazing singers and genuine great human beings. They also donate Blue Island to help with the aftermath of the Bosnian war particularly the women and children. They had hits from the 60s to 2000s when Mo passed in 2003. His twin Robin passed in 2012. They are not lip syncing that is the beauty of the BeeGees. Barry is now 76 and still alive. They had over 1000 hits and there was hundreds of panty droppers among them lol.
@ Leanne Brown, sweetheart, apparently you don’t about singers and bands in those days. Very little lip syncing was done. Everyone had to be able to preform live. Do you think they got that whole orchestra together just to lip sync? Or was the orchestra pretending to play? None of that makes sense.
@@TheBrownlj I saw them sing this song in 1979 from the front row LIVE in Miami, Florida. No lip syncing - They really were that good & didn't need to lip sync because, unlike some of the boiler plate song singers of today, they practiced singing together for hours every day and had been doing so for years. Also lip syncing was so frowned upon back then the career of any a singer caught doing it was literally "over". Hell lip syncing was still a big career ending NO NO in 1989, just ask Milli Vanilli. 1. They were bothers who'd sang together their whole lives 2. They were more than 'That good' They were off the charts fabulous.
@@mjlh7079 nobody is saying that they did lip sync at concerts. Every fan knows that they were awesome live. This is not a concert though. It is a music video. By the way Millie Vanilli didnt just lip sync, the scandal with them is it wasnt their voices at all. They were lip syncing to somebody else's voice. Honestly cant you tell the difference between singing live and music videos?
They are guenuine singers no auto tune nothing just their voices . They have been singing together since they were children. They have written hit songs for many other artists as well. Sad that only Barry is the only one left. Phenomenal talent.
They never lip synch. Theirs was the first album I ever bought. They could sing any song acapella. Theirs was all original. And amazing Live. Also the first concert I went to. I don't remember how many their younger brother recorded. Fifteen number one songs and had three songs in the top five at one time. Musical geniuses.
I absolutely love when people from this generation discover songs that I grew up listening to and loving it. These songs are classic. They really blew up with the soundtrack from the movie “Saturday Night Fever” which for a time was the biggest selling album of all time.
no lip syncing there. Saw them live 4 times. Barry is the sole survivor after losing his youngest brother Andy and his two brothers Maurice (pronounced Morris) and Robin who were twins. Their music has many different sounds over the decades. They are legends and there will never be another group quite like them. RIP Maurice, Robin and Andy.

You have stumbled upon music royalty. They have written hundreds of songs and had monster hits starting from the 60s. Brothers who loved and respected each other. This would be a rabbit hole you would love. Great reaction and welcome to the world of BeeGees.
Music is universal it doesn’t belong to just one group of people. We are all brothers and sisters in this big beautiful world💕this is their style and the style of the time. They were the their own sound but had a great live of all great music. No one had their sound. They were always live and never used any sound affects. Just beautiful sound.
Music isn't owned by anyone and I do believe that the cultural expressions of people should be credited to those who created it. Differences between people's are not suppose to negative, it's just like that here
3 brothers who have been singing together since they were kids in the late 1950s, even though they were born on Isle of Mann (British) and spend young childhood in Manchester, England, their family immigrated to Australia and stayed there until they returned to England in early 1960s. They performed on Australian radio and TV and wrote (for themselves and others) and recorded before they returned to England. Barry, the older brother, is in the middle. Robin (long hair) and Maurice are fraternal twins. They have perfect harmonies because they have been singing together to the radio and records since they were kids. They have never, ever used autotune and perform all songs at concerts and on TV and videos live. They have no formal music training and couldn't even read music when they started out and are all self-taught on multiple instruments. Barry was told by their producer one day that they needed him to singe falsetto and he just sang it, no training. They wrote, recorded and performed their own songs (approx. 1000 to 1500 songs) for 50 years and also wrote and produced records for Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Dionne Warwick, Celine Dione, Barbra Streisand, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton and many others. They moved to Miami, FL in late 1970s and recorded at Criteria Studio there and eventually bought the studio and renamed it Middle Ear Studio. Maurice died in 2003 and Robin died in 2012 but Barry is still alive. After Maurice died, Robin and Barry continued as the Bee Gees, writing, recording, and touring. After Robin died, Barry has continued to write, record and produce records for himself and others and toured for while with 2 of his sons and Maurice's daughter who is a singer. He also mentors young musicians. He and his wife have 5 children, numerous grandchildren and have been married for 54 years and they still live in Miami.
They sound this good together because they’re brothers and have been singing together all their lives. They wrote many of the important songs for 5 decades. They’re an institution.
They are so in tune because they were brothers who perfected their craft together. This is what music sounds like without autotune or lip sync. True artists like so many who sang before autotune was a thing.
Just FYI, they were not lip-syncing there. That was a live performance with a full band. The three of them were brothers who started to harmonize in the parents basement in Australia in 1956 and they went from there to stardom. Beautiful voices, beautiful harmonies, blue eyed soul.
NO lip sync. These guys were phenomenal. Since they were brothers their harmonies almost sound like one voice. I am so thankful I grew up with their music. It is so amazing to see younger generations discovering their fabulous talent. If you go down the Bee Gee rabbit hole, you won't regret it!!

@Leanne Brown I'm sorry but I disagree this was live on The Andy Williams Show, the Bee Gees were influenced by many but Ottis Reading was big influence, along with the beatles and they loved R&B. Barry didn't start singing Falsetto until 1975 but they could all harmonise, they sounded the same live or in a studio, I suggest you look at some of their other songs, which you would know if you grew up with them like I did.

Obviously NO lip syncing! This is one of the BEST musical groups of ALL TIME! It may be worth considering that THEY influenced others rather than so much concern about who they were influenced by... Shared DNA, MASSIVE TALENT and HARD WORK!
They wrote their own music, more than 1,000 songs, they had 9 number 1 hits and wrote hits for other artists including Diana Ross, Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton and Barry (lead singer here) wrote and recorded a whole album with Barbra Streisand. They wrote the theme song to the movie “Grease” and the majority of the soundtrack for the movie “Saturday Night Fever”. Barry didn’t discover that falsetto voice until the 70’s. He has a great lower voice also that can be heard on “Nights on Broadway” as well as Robin Gibb sharing the lead. I recommend watching their live appearance on The Midnight Special Show. You will love this rabbit hole!
@@sue9197 I got that straight from Barry’s mouth in the 2019 Biography of The Bee Gees. But if you Google what year he first sang in falsetto this is the direct quote: The first Bee Gees Song that Barry sang in Falsetto was “Nights on Broadway”, from the Bee Gees' 1975 album “Main Course”. Record Producer Arif Mardin asked Barry if he could “scream in tune” during the main chorus of the song, Barry said “he'll try”, did it and…the rest is Bee Gees History. I was a fan of The Bee Gees in the 1960’s and Barry never sang in falsetto. Go look up their hits prior to 1974 and watch.

Andy had a heart condition from childhood. He was clean when he passed (2 years I believe). I'm sure his drug abuse earlier didn't help his condition so it may have been an underlying factor.
Like @Chanel Stuff commented. Andy Gibb knew years before from past medical emergencies that he had a heart condition, which a cocaine and alcohol addiction made even worse. He was clean of cocaine habit almost two years before his death, but triggered his heart failure from myocarditis (inflammation) when he binged on alcohol the days before his fatal illness.

They are lip synching, that is a fact. The recording of this song is well documented. Read before posting, less you look foolish!
Barry is last alive..Maurice and Robyn were twins ..
@@siggycoe3372 Yes. That's what I said. Really heartbreaking when Maurice died as he was still relatively young and died on the operating table. He never got over Andy's death.
and Barry the oldest last to survive must be hard for him.
Greatest ❤️♥️♥️❤️
@@puffchick4197ditto!
Believe it or not these guys are not lip syncing they are just brilliant
Have you seen their interview with Phil Donahue? Barry talks about black singers being the best in the world. They loved the Isley Brothers too.

Yup Barry's voice is like another musical instrument
Now that’s music. If you didn’t get goosebumps you don’t have a pulse.
Ottis Redding worked with them before he died in 1967. These guys were geniuses when it came to music. They knew how to blend voices, yet they had their own unique sound.
Individually they were different but put em together.....man they could sing!!❤❤❤❤
Remember they didn’t know how to read musical notes. That’s why they did it their way… PERFECTLY
To love somebody was written for Otis Redding, but he died before he could record it. So the Bee Gees recorded it. Documentary named how do you mend a broken heart is very informative. Watch it!! NO LIPSYNCING!!
They were big Otis Redding fans
Correct, except this is not a concert. It is just a music video, not live at all.
Love I started a joke. So beautiful.
Don't forget Maurice and Robin were twins.
Love this music tho almost 80 yrs- can’t seem to get away from it-especially the one about heaven!!!!
that's not lip syncing, that's pure talent and love and women be falling for this. Love was true.

This song isnt live, its just a music video.
@@TheBrownlj What makes you think that they're lip-syncing?
Omg seriously official music videos are not sung live. There were music videos in 1979 just like there are now.
Impossible to compare the Bee Gees to anyone, they're that unique!

@@TheBrownlj You are right. They are performing to the record just for this performance (music videos weren’t a thing yet at this time). But, what a masterful job of lip syncing.
I have loved them for 40 years or more. They sang together from the time they were babies. Their musical connection was psychic.
Absolutely, the panty dropper, them & Righteous brothers!! No lip sync baby, none of the garbage they use in today’s music…..pure soul, heart, talent!! I wish I was hearing them For the first time again!! In case, the were big opinion the 70’s hit disco movie SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER!!! They were heart of disco at the club scene!!!

Agreed! No one can match them.
That was recorded live. I one of their interviews they sang a capella and it was spot on. They wrote three number one songs in one evening. Recorded 21 albums.

No lip sync here, or auto tune. The Bee Gees were as pure as it gets.
One thing about the Bee Gees is they always sung live I have never known them to lip sync, this was rehearsed and sung live, thanks for your reaction
No lip syncing from The Bee Gees 😊 They are phenomenal . I was so in love with them in the 80s

@Leanne Brown I'm sorry but I disagree this was live on The Andy Williams Show, the Bee Gees were influenced by many but Ottis Reading was big influence, along with the beatles and they loved R&B.
The best live performance of Nights on Broadway is the 1989 version from the All For One tour.
@@TheBrownlj Opinions are wonderful things, aren’t they? We both have our own.
All three had falsetto. They discussed it amongst themselves who would do the falsetto Barry stepped up. His was made. Watch their interviews.

Bee Gees only had 3 of them brothers. Robin Maurice Barry. Originally and finally
