I've had my 2019 TRD off road for about 2 weeks now and I wish it had powered seats, a better quality backup camera, more room for my head since I'm quite tall. So far it's turning out to be a good truck.
Toyota Racing Development is known for making great cars! And so far, the Camry TRD and Tacoma TRD are my favorite! P.S. I heard of a Corolla TRD! That'd be so cool
That turning radius on such a long wheelbase is nice. I really hate four door short bed trucks. This Tacoma with a long bed may just sway me from getting another access cab!

The one thing I don't like about modern trucks it the dial controlled 4WD. Even in this video you could see it was a little cumbersome to use. With the old shift levers you didn't even need to look down while you were tossing around.
Why did Toyota eliminate the left side box compartment....my 13 has it and I love it. I wish my truck had a locking tailgate. I also like my floor mats....they are secured in place with latches. Newer Tacos dont have that anymore.
What did you do with the head rest in the back seat, you must have forgot to show that, seance they removed the latch to lay foreword so you dont have to remove the head rest from the seat when you lower them,, It looks like they removed the grab handle on the driver side, and the sliders for the visors, It also looks like they removed the front bed rail and a storage compartment in the bed, And no more LED tail lights, If they keep removing things there wont be any truck left, Im sure the power plug in the bed will be next,, You know the little things is what made the Tacoma stand out over the rest,, I would miss my 2013 for those reasons, So i will just wait and maybe they will bring back the hole truck,, It seems now theirs not much differences between the other trucks any more..
Yes that is the question isn't it? I'm in the market for a mid size and decided to finally test drive a Taco. So firstly, the professional reviewers have stated a few cons for the Taco. First, that its under powered by the new 3.5 mated to a horrid 6 speed automatic that can't seem to find the right gear. Second, no power seats no matter what trim level you buy. And third, worst back seat leg room and least amount of space. So now I'll tell you my impressions. I am pretty much ready to buy the upcoming Ford Ranger. I owned one overseas and IMO, this will be the one to beat coming early next year. But Tacos are number one and resale is insane. So I forced myself to the toy dealer to see. I did not really want to test drive it being I knew I would not buy it. The manager insisted. I did like a white limited and that is the one we drove. Test vehicle was pretty much loaded. Over 40K dollars and no, it did not have power seats. That is pretty much inexcusable at this price point. And I told them so. I did not sit in the back sit but my wife did. She is all of 120 lbs 5'4". And she complained that it was cramped with not enough space/leg room. I'm like freaking really? I did not even try to climb back there. So driving I drove along a frontage road alongside I25 so I got it up to around 50 MPH. I am sad to report that this truck is truly gutless. Hit the gas and it slowly pulls. The ride is nice and I liked the interior layout. Once I was at speed the gears were indeed shifting up/down. And I was not even on hilly terrain. Plus the shift points were not very smooth. This in short, is a garbage transmission. Worst engine/trans tune I've ever seen. I really did not expect it to be that bad. I figured reviewers will like to nit pick bla bla bla and I would find it tolerable. After all, this is the leading truck. OMG, its MUCH worse then I thought. I mean once I pulled out on the frontage road it was 10 seconds and I knew this truck was a no go. Sales guy just said take the next right and we went right back. He knew. Anyway, the what people say is totally true. This truck is old tech. Overpriced and sells on name alone at this point. The Ranger I'm expecting will destroy this and become the leading truck in its class.
I don’t have a good answer for you right now. The trucks and cars are use belong to my dealership and then they belong to the people who buy them. It will be challenging to have that allowed to take them off-roaring.
So.....nothing has changed from the 2018!?! I have a 2018 Tacoma Off Road and love it, but this is EXACTLY the same. Why do they stick with those wheels?!? Pretty much everyone wants black wheels, not black and silver. Come on Toyota!!! Also, auto headlights, folding mirrors, some sort of home link system in the mirror (just to name a few things) would make this truck so much better.

I own an 18 and this guy is too positive, it's under powered, unresponsive and handles terribly on road. Seats too low in the rear making it impossible to get comfortable, if u are comfortable u can't reach the steering wheel bc telescoping is less than an inch and ur shins will be snapped in an accident. Front USB isnt fast charge, the 18 doesn't have the 2 fast charge USB added as an afterthought as the 19. Overall great truck but has MAJOR shortcomings and that's y they are piling up on used market almost new. Unfortunately its gonna kill my resell, the reason I bought it. Mine is a manual trans short bed offroad. Also note that he removed the rear headrests b4 he folded rear seat down
