Can you all do a video on the accessories that can be added based off the pre-wiring Tacoma has done. I have a Tacoma and there are a ton of quick connects that have nothing connecting to them that I don't know what they are for. I don't see a lot of videos about this.
@GrmpaJA I'd get rid of the moon roof and heated seats. Have a '13 Santa Fe with moon roof and have used it maybe 6 times in 11 years. Heated seats in central Florida?
These trucks are the absolute best Tacoma trucks! People want that new shitt, But just wait in a couple years these things are going to be considered gems! These trucks are 1 of those things you don't realize how good it is until it's GONE! Mine is the 4X4 off-road 6-speed manual! never going to trade that 🛻💨... Is it perfect? Hell no but there's faults no matter what midsize 🛻 you go with imo
I chose Sport back in 2007 just because the fake hood scoop looked great and never thought about off-roading, still running great after 300K+ miles. But my next one will be 4th Gen Off-Road package with factory rear locker, period. Hood scoop won't get you unstuck😃, and aftermarket lockers are more $$ + problematic.

I prefer the SR5, had 2 of them. Not a fan of the nanny traction aid's, rides plusher, better mpg. And for $450 u can get the Pro grill, color matched rear bumper and black badges aftermarket.
At first I got the 2021 Toyota Tacoma SR 4 cylinder but I hated it and was trash, I only had it for a month but then I decided I trade it in for a 2023 SR5 V6 Toyota Tacoma, I kept saying to myself it would of been better if I got the Toyota Tacoma TRD instead, I like the SR5 but my eyes keep looking at the TRD Tacomas instead…
Looking into an SR5 now. It's either this or the Ranger XLT. 6' 1" and not a little guy so I need to test drive them. Toyota for reliability and resale, Ranger for power and comfort. I wanted a full-size truck, but I can't stomach the cost of them... Nice video as always.
Hey boss, look into a second generation. Please don't finance or lease a new one for 50k. Spend 15k and get a mint condition 2nd gen, put the rest onto the house.
I’m in the same boat! I’m 6’2” and a big guy. I like the comfort and power of the Ranger. Wanted a crew cab full size truck. Too expensive so tomorrow I’m planning on buying a 2021 Tacoma SR 2.7 4 cylinder. Not using it for offroading just for light camping trips. I test drove it and I fit fine in the driver’s seat.
I like the paint matched fenders better than the black plastic ones the off-road has. Also Im not a fan of the two tone seats the sport has. Prefer the regular cement gray. Sr5 you can upgrade suspension with the oem lift kit. Just wont have the crawl/locking diff which is not a huge deal if your not a serious offroader.
I am in search for a rugged midsize truck. I know the tacoma is going into a redesign. But, between just these three, my eyes go to the off road trim. Thats the trim I want. I do feel because it is centered towards off road, it should get even bigger beefier tires and even wider truck stance. Forget carpet, for off roading put in an all vynal rubber flooring. easy to clean. But not sure to go with 2023 or wait for the redesign.
Damn, makes me happy what I just paid for my 2023 TRD off road after seeing those sticker prices. The only thing I don’t have in mine is the moonroof, & leather interior (which i specifically didn’t want - my family has owned & run an upholstery shop since the 60’s, so if I ever decide I want leather, I’ll install some Katzkin in it. Factory leather is absolute garbage these days. I ended up with a 10yr-100k mile extended warranty, paintless dent & scratch repair, & the price of tires locked in for the next 5 years. Lifetime drivetrain & oil changes already came with it. I payed $46,500 out the door with $20k down. I see a lot of dealerships are marking up MSRP on popular models but I didn’t have that happen.
Sr5 is like the basic tacoma...trd sport mainly for street riding and styling ...trd off road .msslf explainitory...going off road....leather seats and moon roof and chrome wheels with all terrain tires and multi terrain features. Go with the trd off road ..more features.
Yes. My last name is Ralston as well. Just bought a 2023 Toyota TRD Sport in 4 wheel drive this week. My favorite truck ever. Had to go with the five foot bed so it would fit into my garage.
1st thing I did when I bought my sr5 was remove that ugly grill with a heritage grill and dechromed all the badges and bumper. I Would like those led trd off rd headlights
I love leather but with a dog and their sharp claws, I worry about it getting ruined/scratched up easier than cloth. Best to cover them good to avoid it altogether, and then there's even less reason to pay for the leather.
Looked at buying a new Tacoma here in metro Atlanta. SE Toyota Distributors adds unwanted crap on the truck. They won't let me order what I want. So, goodbye Toyota.
Jeff I love your Tacoma videos!!! Can you get your hands on the trail edition?!?!? Keep up the awesome vids, I’m trying to sell my 2012 wrangler and I’m torn between the off-road or trail edition
Really like your reviews Jeff, I live in the north east I tried to order a Tacoma sport, long bed, premium package, and all the dealers around me are telling me they are not taking any orders. Is there a reason for this? Thank you, Steve.
The only thing I can think of is they are very hard to get right now. Maybe dealers are only taking in whatever Toyota gives them right now. I have a hunch other dealerships are different. There are plenty of dealers who will take your deposit based on your specifications.
Yea those prices are without any of these add ons. Easily the off road is 44 out the door. Plus. I just got a trail for 47 with taxes etc out the door. It was listed at 44500
Best value? 2nd gen tacoma (2008-2011 years), sr5, access cab, 6 speed manual, TRD offroad with the elocker rear diff. My badging was an "SR5 TRD Offroad" 2008. Paid 15k canadian, 265k kms ( 165k kms). These brand new 70k trucks are insanely priced
I can't get over the difference between the Canadian market and the American one. 4 cylinder isn't an option on any model and the offroad is only available in access cab. Wtf!? But they are the same price but in Canadian pesos so I won't complain too much hahaha
The better choice would be to wait for the next generation Tacoma. The interior is very dated and not comfortable. 6 speed transmission is old tech , many now are 8 to 10 speed which gives better gas mileage
@@Gio-m Full reveal date of May 19 I think, prob available later this year or early 2024. I guess there can be glitches with a new model but will be under warranty and Toyota is very conservative with new technology. Tacoma is too important to Toyota for them to mess it up
