I have 4 models of this amp: Mojo Diamond (Tweed Deluxe), British Invasion (AC30), Purple Wind (Plexi) and Siva Boogie (Bogner Shiva Clean channel). I like the Mojo Diamond and Siva Boogie the best. I usually run them like a preamp with the effects out going into a Hotone Binary IR Cab. I've found this to work the best when I'm going into a recording console or FRFR amp. The matching Hotone Mini Cabinet isn't very good. I made my own mini-cab with a Eminence 620H speaker that works well with these heads.
Hmm interesting approach, didn’t think about going from loop into IR cab emulator. Good idea. I haven’t tried matching cab, I went straight from out to Torpedo Captor and then used OwnHammer impulse. What’s weird to me are the eq knobs, they behave like nothing I’ve tried so far, very touchy and aggressive range, are other models the same? Having Savage Drive in front definitely helped a lot. Btw I have Hotone Ampero and I shortly compared 5150 from it to Vulcan Five-O, and I def like the sound more from Ampero, its much closer to real deal.
Yu can use it at the end of your pedal board instead of an equaliser and use it as a pre amp to boost your sound. Trust me. Its a great little item. ❤❤❤
Is it just me, or is all the gain knob does to enhance the hum? Also (and it's ages since I played the Peavey 5150), shouldn't the gain knob at position 0 give you a cleanish sound? Great video, though, you're really enjoyable to watch.
I'd say you're right in regards to hum, it does bring quite a lot of noise when turning gain from 12 o clock and up. Until 12oclock, it does have a differences in gain structure and harmonics it adds, afterwards it just goes into compression and I guess since not a lot of headroom available since it's solid state, it brings just more noise. This amp is emulating Lead channel of 5150, that's why it doesn't clean up well when gain backed down, plus it's solid state, so it behaves a bit differently. Overall, I'd say that my biggest pain points about this small thing are eq controls, that are VERY drastic and weird behaving, at least for my taste :D Thanks for watching! :) Glad you liked it.
Hmm, I don't know they have both preamp and poweramp into one pedal and smaller than this? I do own AMT pedal (B-Lead - you can check my video comparing three X-Lead pedals), but they have preamps and separate power amp, not both together in one pedal (as far as I know). Which one do you refer to?

There are a couple of sound issues - youtube compression really did it bad on some parts of audio :(

I just ordered this one. The mojo diamond is next and I almost got it. From what I hear it sounds pretty good.
