    Cool Caparison! I live in Tokyo but I have never seen Caparison C2 in Japan.

    Extremely good points there mate! I always tell people, don't just go for the cheapest option, because even after a short period of time you would have already improved your skills and you don't want the tool in your hands pulling you back!

    Great review. I’m going to get the TAT. Would you go with the metal machine, or the upgraded FM models with the quilt top & upgrades?

    • @PetarMakesNoise
      @PetarMakesNoise  3 місяці тому

      @@zz-.- honestly it depends. Which TAT machine? Standard or Special? Only one humbucker or with neck as well? I would say that with either one that you go, you get highest quality regardless. Its more about your needs of features. I prefer to have both bridge and neck magnets. Although TAT Special (non metal machine) are a bit more beautiful for my taste, so I would go with that :D

      @@PetarMakesNoise thank you very helpful answer. For more context, I want the killswitch model that includes that pickup. So either the TAT FX Metal Machine, or the TAT special fx metal machine CL. The special model is 50% more expensive but i think are much more limited (don’t know how many, does caparison number their limited models?) I’m leaning towards the special model but curious to get feedback from those who have played this brand more than I have

    Pffh difficult question. The last couple of years I am back from my view that more expensive guitars are always better. I have experienced that it differs per period per brand. I own Caparison, ESP, Ibanez prestige and USA PRS. the last period I find my Ibanez prestige 5000 series really, really good. ESP with the e2 series are okay but with little flaws (fretwork not great). Caparison my last one bought couple of years ago, before they went with reunion blues cases. My dellingers were great, my angelus models needed fret leveling. PRS USA in my experience was and still is flawless but I like the SS frets, luminlays and lo pro edge bridge on my Ibanez better. Great topic and personal view from you, awesome

      Thanks, glad you liked the video! I agree with you on what you said - especially in regards to periods - I did notice that there were periods within brands when quality and value was higher, and other way around, when they had issues. I think Caparison for example had a period (if I remember early 2000-2010?) when they had issues and went bankrupt (but don’t hold me for a word, I’m digging this out of my memory, could be wrong), but they improved later on and got a lot better. ESP LTD had an early period in Korea a bit bad quality, but improved over time, and honestly they’re really good guitars for money. At the moment I was making this video, Solar were really good, but last 6-8 months we’ve seen really A LOT of Solar issues showing up (cracked ebony boards, unmatched veneers, finish issues, rough cuts etc). That just shows how fast things can go wrong and how important it is to try guitar before buying (and learn how to identify potential issues). PRS USA - well, they are priced for sure, and for the money I’d expect absolute perfection, glad that you have one and are happy with :)
      Cheers and thanks for the nice comment! :)

      @@PetarMakesNoise yeah excactly my caparison angelus models are from that period, makes sense they were bought by a conglomerate later on. Esp LTD now with Fishmans and SS frets I will definately give a try. PRS I own four of them and are fantastic. A Prs custom 22 vintage yellow my first guitar and bought for relatively cheap many years ago, still one of my favourites, a Prs sc58 just overhauled with Fishman Will adlers fantastic axe as well, and last but not least a Prs Holcomb USA and Dustie waring USA. So my PRS's are pretty special so maybe that is not a good ratio meter regarding the overal objective quality of PRS, but most of the time in guitar stores I notice the quality of PRS as wel, great fretwork, nut is cut right, neck is straight and great overall fit and finish so it is not a coincidence I guess. But yeah the price is pretty nuts. ESP e2 is good, a couple of high frets on my last on but overall pretty good, but I am afraid not better than the new higher end LTD's.

    Thank you! I didn't know Caparison C2 was factoried in Fujigen. Makes them more interesting to me! But at the moment I don't find one in the price range you suggested :/
    Also I found interesting that you mentioned ESP LTD as positive examples while you didn't mention Ibanez Premium Line. Do you have any thoughts on that?

      Yea and thyr just want more basically remade the ibanez after ibanes made the wizard neck for flimsy guitar, action guitars.. the action is kinda flimsy for faint of hand, it means you paid too much for it. Similar but reduced the neck for smaller hands. You an shred on light picks and string gauges. It's actually easier to play.

    Currently saving for the caparison AH8, since caparison basically doesnt exist in my country i have only tried a couple of 6 strings, which felt absolutely amazing. Im thinking that if i dont mesh with it, then i Can return it. But i have faith in the craftmanship of caparison. And look forward to when i have enough money.

    Hello from another Evergrey fan. I own one of the Caparison custon line Dellingers. Maybe I'm just so unlucky with it but the guitar sounds terrible. I first thought what was my home setup, but after taking it to a recording studio there was no doubt it's something wrong with the guitar. The tone is very hollow and nasal, like ther's no harmonical content in it and the lower string are much quieter than the higher ones, so you really need to hit the crap out of it to make some decent palm mutes. Not even talking about some weird resonances and dead notes all over the fretboard. And of course I made sure the guitar was set up by a professional before recording. So I would say Itaru definitely had some hard times building my guitar. Shame that it just hangs on the guitar stand most of the time. =(

    • @PetarMakesNoise
      @PetarMakesNoise  3 роки тому

      Hey man! Sad that you have such a bad experience :( May I ask, when was the guitar built? There was a short period in Caparison history when they had quite some QA issues in the process, and some guitars were hit or miss. They went bankrupt at one point, got bought and improved a lot again since then. Now - in regards of tone, if guitar has those Caparison pickups, what you’re talking about tone wise reminds me of my experience with those pickups. I’d suggest you drop them and put Dimarzio Titans or similar more modern voiced pickups. I’m pretty sure you’d get instant improvement. Sometimes pickups tend to make or break electric guitar. As for dead noted on the neck, that sounds like a bad setup (unless its completely new out of the box and was weird like that).

    • @Alek_Archer
      @Alek_Archer 3 роки тому

      @@PetarMakesNoise The guitar was discontinued in 2014, so i can't really tell the release period, somewhere between 2012 and 2014 I guess. I've tried to swap pickups on it for seymour duncan JB, then SH-6, now it has EMG 81/85 set on. Dunno maybe I should really try the Titan set, or some BKPs. As for the tone, well, I've got a couple other guitars in my household, they're much cheaper but sound more decent even unplugged =)

    Using that much gain, you could use a hello kitty guitar, and a hot pickup, it will all sound about the same, try jazz or blues, or better yet solo classical style. The quality of fret work matters, and the more you spend, and the more hours that went into it, it’s very clear on a playability level, and dead clean tones make this shine, heavy gain, is very limited in frequency response, and very compressed, it hides many things, as do hot pickups.
    So it surprised here, with that tone, it is however misleading in many ways.
    Cheep guitars cut corners, expensive ones less so, expensive guitars have more consistency guitar to guitar , then cheaper ones, lastly, I spend more to support manufacturing in the country I live in, and not a communist country that just spread a world wide epidemic, where my money is spent matters. Who I support and who I do not.
