    If I can do it, you can too. The secret to this makeover is sewing. sew as much as you can to let the finish look professional.

    WOW - just WOW, you certainly went to work on that sofa, this should be renamed remodelling sofa and upholstering !!! Fantastic video, I really enjoyed watching. I am about to tackle my sofa and it was fascinating to see what is under the cushions etc.

    I like your descriptions and details. It will be easier to do this myself, I think I can do it. I like that you showed your first attempts, and why and how you changed to make it better. It looks great.

      Thanks. Yeah sometimes we just need to make the first move and then once you’ve destroyed the original fabric, there’s no turning back. 😊

    You are awesome Seetal 👍🏼👌🏼 My fiancé is also very creative like you - I am going to forward your video to her and see if she thinks it’s a good idea to do this on 2 three-sitter recliners I have - they are very good quality sofas made by Lane and I paid a lot of money when I bought them. I hate to throw these away to replace them with some cheap quality sodas what you get nowadays. Thank you for this video, your narrative and your tips ♥️🙏🏼

    So you do not need to take the frame apart? I have a like-new sofa, needs nothing as far as re upholstery. I’ve never used it because I can’t stand the fabric, but it’s great quality. Replacing would be such a waste but I got discouraged trying to figure out how I’d staple fabric to the frame. None of the cushions are attached. I just can’t find the frame modern the upholstery fabric. I have t removed the fabric yet. Any Advice, Anyone?m

    • @SeetalMD
      @SeetalMD  2 роки тому

      There’s only one way to learn, take it apart. But only take it apart if you’re willing to part with the furniture. Then it can serve as a piece that teaches you upholstery

    You are amazing! You have an eye for doing things like this and the patience to go with it. As I was watching you going at it I thought, heck no that's too much work lol. Then I saw it finished and I thought wow, it was all worth it...👏👍👏

      Haha. Yes I mean, what’s the worst that can happen? It fails and it’s ruined. That’s it. Life’s still great though.

    I have a sofa set (3+1+1) with attached cushions. I loath the look of it and I absolutely loved this tutorial. The end result was superb as was your determination and will to make it there. I honestly do not know if i could do this.... But just in case I try, I see the only big tools you used
    1. Sewing machine
    2. Electric stapler
    And you bought a LOT of basting and pins
    And of course upholstery fabric and zipper.
    Did I get the list?? Or do first timers need something more??
    And secondly, can you estimate how much fabric I would require for the complete set. If I do the removable cushions thing on all of them??
    How much does basting cost??

    • @SeetalMD
      @SeetalMD  2 роки тому +2

      Good luck with your project!
      Take your time and be patient. The entire project costed me about $240 inclusive of all materials. The basting is the cheapest. Just get the cheapest one. And use curtain fabric if you want to save money. Try IKEA for fabric. Their fabric is usually much cheaper. And when using sewing machine, increase the length of stitches to 3.0 and use denim needle.
      Yes that is all you will need. Lots of patience.

    Great idea and you making very nice sofa can you tell me how long meter should be buy for 3 seater sofa with out cushions

    • @SeetalMD
      @SeetalMD  3 роки тому +1

      without cushions would be about 5 meters. I used a good 2 and 1/2 meters for the cushions and the width of my fabric was 1.5m. so it was a pretty wide fabric.

    Жесть, конечно. Мне, как мебельщику с 25-летним стажем в перетяжке и изготовлении мягкой мебели, было жалко смотреть на то, как все делалось и что в итоге получилось. Без слез не взглянешь :((
