      @@createwithcraftsman Great! I'd like to see a video on foam core cushions with duck down envelopes. How to measure the fabric and considerations between seat and back cushions. Thanks, B

    Would you please share the specific information on the fabric you used on this sofa? Material, brand, style & color? This video was probably the most helpful video I've ever watched on upholstery. Thank you

      Thank you so much for the feedback! I hope it helps you on your upholstery journey. The fabric is Couture Textiles Perris Ash

    Tell us about the crown and seam allowance

    • @createwithcraftsman
      @createwithcraftsman  11 днів тому

      We will try to get you a new video on that. But crowning is how you get a rounded puffy side to happen without pulling in the sides of the cushion. If you want a flat cushion-- don't worry about crowning. But if you want a lofted, domed, puffy look-- then you need to add places for the foam to go, but to still have the edges straight when you're done.
      Seams-- in upholstery a 1/2" seam allowance is standard. That is where you sew 1/2" from the edge of the fabric so that the fabric doesn't unravel on you when you're done (and gives you space to keep everything straight).

    incredible video😯 bright and simple to the point.
    for a back cushion using the same technic yet to have more crown (hope its a good idea) -
    can i use a block of foam in the middle, leave about 2 inch instead of 1\2 for crowning and fill the rest with dacron?
    thank you!
    😀

    • @createwithcraftsman
      @createwithcraftsman  3 місяці тому

      Yes you can! all different kinds of crowning are possible and depending on the stretch of your fabric you may need to adjust your crowning for a larger fill in the center. Principles all work the same though.

    Run a ruler down the inside of the seam for the perfect finish

    • @createwithcraftsman
      @createwithcraftsman  3 місяці тому

      Good idea. There are good guides as well that can keep the seam nice and even. The fabric nap always makes it want to crawl one way or the other though.

      We used a down envelope so the foam is different than usual.
