With the recent patch while this is still one of the only ways to keep Wyll and Karlach while destroying the grove, you can just trigger the Minthara fight by stealing or otherwise triggering her into a fight where she has the "Temporarily hostile" condition and knocking her out. Make sure the goblins can't use the war drum since that both aggros other goblins and removes the temporarily hostile marker. Don't even bother using dialogue options to end up in combat just use surprise and smash her head in so she ends up on trial before Ketheric thinking of you as some random asshole instead of an enemy of ideology so grave that she simply ceases to exist
I posted this method to reddit a while ago. You can even kill the grove with Wyll and Karlach, I chose to save scum to fail an intimidation check trying to save the kid and then failed to stop the druids from killing the tieflings and cleaned up the remaining druids as punishment for their genocide. When Minthara does the raid, it autocompletes cause everyone is dead. Wyll and Karlach just have to be dead during the goblin "raid". Love all the choices in this game.
if you move on to the Cursed lands to ACT 2 without completing the Grove quest you can also get Karlach, Wyll and Minthara as party members. If you do this the Druids completes the ritual and you cant go back to the grove as its been sealed..
Interesting. What if you expose the Shadow Druid Plot but never agree to kill the goblin leaders or betray or tell Minthara were the grove is? Does that prevent the sealing of the grove and the Teiflings live on to appear in Act 2? Cause I believe the plot involves the shadow druids killing them before sealing the grove.

I am the only one who is confused that so many people writing „You can just ignore the grove-conflict to get all companions“? …As If that is a better solution than the video gives you wtf…. Thats the point of this video, to give an alternative to „just ignore it“. To ignore it is a unsatisfying gamewalk. Like „Just skip a part of the game…yeah who needs story.“ I am glad for every video that shows alternatives. I will try this and hope it works for me as well. This would be the best gamewalk for me to get wyll and minthara
Awesome video! But I wonder if you could also recruit Halsin in this scenario. Although I heard that Minthara and Halsin occupy the same tent spot at your camp
I recruited minthara before halsin and she didn't kill him, this game has tons of bugs. Didn't even care about recruiting him, just didn't pick sides in act 1 recruited minthara in act 2 then went on to art to wake him up. He asked me to bring halsin so I told back to goblin camp in act 1 (waypoints disappear after you're done with Shar temple) told him about the quest, meet him back at Inn, lifted the curse and he told me it's a shame he didn't join me sooner.
I have a mod that allows Minthara to be recruited even if you save everyone and kill the goblin leaders. They occupy the same space for me, but other than that it’s business as usual. It’s not really an issue at all. They just stand next to each other.
havent finished the game yet so ill not watch further, but i want to just add this comment. This game has so many options. SO. MANY. I love it. I've never played a rpg with this many branching (and meaningful) choices.
Has anyone tried to do another trick,I found it while playing as Origin Lae'Zel but didn't bother pursuing the campaign. When meeting the Druid 3 guards, the good looking druid that stops you from entering to meet with Kagha..those ones,to just continue onwards, ignoring them and continuing. It will trigger a goddamn world war,and I think this is the only way to truly keep all 3 of them without truly becoming evil. Honestly you just disrespected a few druids and boom everyone's killing themselves,at this point you were the tiniest spark to an already fused powder barrel that's surrounded by flames!
I have tried simmilar - but I started the war by stealing idol - and everyone was dead as there result. Then I went to Minthara and there was a usual scene to tell her about druids. I did so. She went to the (very empty) grove and next there was a goblin party and game treated this as raiding grove (Wyll leaves etc).
The method in the video did not work for me. I've stolen the idol multiple times and long rested, the civil war never triggers after Kagha is dead. Maybe because I exposed Kagha's Dark Druid scheme.
Went back to an old save, confirmed that the civil war will trigger if you don't confront Kagha's dark druid alliance. I didn't kill Kagha, I just stole the idol, but found out that you can't quick escape via map portal as once you left click on the idol it locks you into the cut scene for the civil war. When you open the map it states you can't fast travel and have to wait for the cutscene. After the cut scene, I was able to drink an invisibility potion and flee. Combat ended after a turn and I was able to fast travel again. I'm not sure if failing to kill kagha is going to impact this method of having Minthara, Karlach and Wyll in the party together though. Will report back when I test it. Regarding my first attempt that failed, I got to the point where Minthara and the goblins are assaulting the Grove, it was the act of opening the gate that caused both Wyll and Karlach to leave the party, even though both of their corpses are in camp. I also noticed that they still aprove and disaprove of actions while they're dead. Maybe their ghosts are watching. This makes me wonder if you even need to have them dead. Perhaps just not being in the active party is enough, as long as the civil war happens. I noticed that the gate stays open 24/7 after the civil war.
No fucking way... i was searching for a way to get both minthara and karclach and everyone on the internet said it was not possible... u proved them wrong
You can just ignore tieflings main quest at all and go to Creshe. That will cause grove to be closed and you will be able to recrut Minthara at Moonrise as usually, and you will have your too sencetive companions with you too, as you technically didnt kill anyone. Well, at least you will have Wyll as that I tested, but most likely Karlach too - I just kill her always, but doubt she is coded differently. So just ignore this bunch of thieves and their problem and you will have what you want:)
Just ignoring the goblin/druid camp conflict have always worked to swap Halsin for Minthara with all others still there/recruitable. It will lead to Karlach's questline and romance being unfinishable though but she'll still be with you till the end. The "impossible" outcome only ever been Halsin and Minthara at the same time though someone found a path around that too but that path was quickly patched out as it breaks stuff in camp and in act 3.

im more intrested in recruiting minthara without killing the grove. like with the karlack thing kill her last without speaking to her. quest will update then resurect her. then party and then meet her in act two. no idea if works but minthara is playable caracter so a scroll should work
I think its game mechanic shenanigans, the thing that allows no-horny wyll + karlach is the same as anything involving killing karlach, she's flagged, by design, to be a companion from gameplay-scripting mechanic, thats why scrolls work. I suspect the same is not true for minthara, she's a regular NPC and if she's recruited the game gives you another minthara (think of different ID's), hence the trick can't work as she's just like any other npc you kill Using cheat engine is working atm for both halsin and minthara, the bug I have is that she won't follow-move anywhere, only if I move her, which is odd. And I haven't tested once you get halsin as a legit companion what happens, thats a lot of testing. Missing out on the tieflings is quite a lot of content, so I guess such a run would be reserved for a pure pragmatic-evil run where you know the game enough to know what you're missing (including gear).

@@DarkWolfy41 at the moment its only through cheat engine for sure, but even then I'm unsure of the future consequences, even if I find a way to fix her non moving issue. You having her body is pointless, as I've just found out that Minthara=/=Nightwarden Minthara so my theory was correct, before you recruit her she's always Nightwarden Minthara not Minthara, hence for the game its 2 different things, having Nightwarden Minthara's body will do nothing. Spawning Minthara's body and asking wither to keep her safe (after YOU kill her or she dies to fall damage I suppose) is a different thing (only doable with cheat engine) and the game will recognize minthara (the npc) as dead for quest purposes in that case (wierdly, must be some safe script of some sort). But the unknown variable remains: What happens once you finish act 2 and get halsin as a companion, and thats a lot of itme invested to test.

I do feel like it's worth noting you don't have to go through all this stuff to have Karlach, Wyll, and Minthara in the same party, as you can also just not kill Minthara nor raid the grove and Minthara will still be recruitable in act 2 and you won't lose Wyll and Karlach. this is more useful if you want to get her act 1 romance scene specifically without losing them
Definitely this guy is a doofus
How do you spare her in Act 1? It's part of the quest to protect the Grove.
@@nathanbarnhart2529 you just leave through the mountain pass without either killing the goblin leaders or the grove (the druids finish the ritual of thorns, the goblins kill all the tieflings and minthara goes to moonrise towers having failed to find the "weapon" where you can save her from execution and recruit her.
@@nathanbarnhart2529 What I did was while quest says kill all 3 leaders you go kill the other 2 and while fighting minthara bring her health down to like 8-10 HP and then use something like pommel strike etc which knocks the enemy unconscious the game thinks Minthara is dead and you can even loot her body for the armor and other stuffs and carry on with your quests while entering Moonrise Towers in Act 2 you will find Minthara nonetheless... this strat worked for me in every playthrough
@@nathanbarnhart2529 you don’t have to complete that questline, you can simply progress to act 2 without completing it
I tried this recently, maybe larian fixed this, but it worked only for karlach. Will leaves party even dead xddd
For me i "used" Wyll and Karlach..
I recruited Wyll, then Kill Karlach, and get the Infernal Robe, then i know Wyll will leave me when i betray the Groce, so rather than him leaving.. i used him by going to the Underdark, Fish ppl . And sacrifice him for a Boooal Benediction buff.. since he was going to leave anyway when i betray the grove.

Does Minthara have any overworld banter with Wyll/Karlach/Halsin, since she's never meant to be with them?
Yes she does. A lot of her restored dialog is actually her interactions with the two.
I tried this way last week, it may has been fixed.
Fixed how?
if you move on to the Cursed lands to ACT 2 without completing the Grove quest you can also get Karlach, Wyll and Minthara as party members.
@@02091992able Hmm not sure. BUT They also just patched the game if you defeat the other two goblin commanders and use non lethal attacks on Minthara at the goblin camp in her war room she will now appear in Act 2
I did it this way, and Wyll and Karlack still leave, I'll they leave at the goblin party instead if during the battle.
@@ibannashYou do know he specifically says and shows that you are to resurrect them AFTER the Goblin celebration...
Amazing work my friend
Thank you very much
Did this, good enough. Both will and Karlach in party and romanced fkn savage Minthara.
Awesome video! But I wonder if you could also recruit Halsin in this scenario. Although I heard that Minthara and Halsin occupy the same tent spot at your camp
Not anymore. Minthara kills Halsin direkt after she arives in the camp. (No scene, just a dead body)
They just stand next to each other.
like cousins.@@gabe2349
@@99Heavy9how did you recruit Minthara in act 2? And do you just leave Halsin in the goblin camp and you can still recruit him later?
havent finished the game yet so ill not watch further, but i want to just add this comment. This game has so many options. SO. MANY. I love it. I've never played a rpg with this many branching (and meaningful) choices.
Stupid how UA-cam treats its "guidelines" more like "rules".
Tieflings are on sight.
Sadly I can't do this. As a good drow, I've killed everyone crossing my path including party's members, gobelin, druids, Tief, animals, and so on.
Good as in 'acting as expected' for a Lolth-sworn? Certainly not good for a Seldarine.
@@JarredPearman Seldarine are traitors and need to be wiped.
Why get the quest if they all die anyway
How do you walk with your character without losing the skill bar on a PC?
can't you kill Kagha after you unmask her connection to the dark druids?
Well the more prefferable option is to convince her to fight the dark druids
It is possible to save Saza in the process?
No fucking way... i was searching for a way to get both minthara and karclach and everyone on the internet said it was not possible... u proved them wrong
only issue with the Tieflings dead karclach cant be saved
That's funny. I did this by accident my first playthrough
you didn't. go tell your mother you're also not a moron.
ouch. i already exposed khaga so i can't trigger the beef between druids and tief to have that cool dialogue with minty. ANyway, the suicide system works
So you can have a play through with No horns Wyll, Karlach and Mintarah the ?
Just a question can you still romance karlach and wyll
dealing with Kagha by confronting her with the "proof" isn't enough ?
its easy ,but how keep Halsin ???!!!!
Hats off this is above the board the best cheese I have seen. Now get these three and Halsin.
There is explanation on this thread for how people also got Halsin.
Halsin sucks though, why have him ?
With all the discussion on reddit etc. going on: will I be able to get any kind of romance with Minthara (past the one night stand) (e.g. act 3) with this workaround?
any way to save dammon? so much loot wasted
Agreed. What kind of loot missing?
@@JohnnyBlake-bu4hl he's a mayor vendor in acts 2 and 3, he sells some of the best equipment in the game and also crafts some with infernal iron. Also he's needed to progress karlach's quest
it is cool, that it works. but still for a slight moment I hoped there was a non cheese option to do it. it is still clearly not indended to have a party that way
u can just ignore the whole defend or raid the grove thing and still be able to recruit minthara without karlach and wyll being mad at you and leave.
After this do they interact with each other?
Karlachs my favorite to man she stays with me always been with me non stop. She fits perfectly in my backpack to man considering she weighs almost nothing she's so quiet to.
what if u dun recruit Karlach first . Do the destroy goblin camp first, then go and find her after the Grove is destroyed?
then she refuses to join you.
She gives a long winded speech about how you killed everyone and she saw it. Thats why you need the druids and tieflings to kill each other.
I see.. I played a monk in 1 playthrough and was trying to get the Gloves of Cinder from the Mountain Pass early. But when I go to Mountain Pass and return to Belighted Village, I saw lots of Dead Tieflings.. and the Grove is Sealed shut by the Rite of Thorns already, so the Tieflings were forced out and died on the way to Baldur's Gate .. sad
You cant recruit her even if you transform yourself before you talk to her ... this is just dumb. ,,i saw you..." girl wtf. Not possible.
Transformation is broken in this game in general unfortunately...@@Autarii
I met her after she wasn't happy to say the least
Does Minthara have dialogue for Karlach and Wyll when asked about the other companions at camp?
She would not have for the standard recruitment of her would render it impossible. We are basically breaking the natural flow of the game to get them all.
@@dorukhanozen2580 You would think so, but it's entirely possible at some point in development they had voice lines for it, and they got left behind or added "just in case".
She does!

Well that's no shock, but it's useless for console players.
If you kill everyone in the grove how do you fix karlachs heart?
You can get the first upgrade (it's possible as soon as you recruit her), but not the second.
You can’t whether or not you give all the upgrades, it ends the same
It sucks there is only 1 blacksmith in the game who can use infernal iron. And he has to be a Tieflings.. so players who pick to kill the Tieflings are out of luck. I wished there is an alternative blacksmith maybe for evil players like a Goblin one or a Cambion one who can use the infernal irons to make something for the evil player also.
@@lingth And people only focus on the fact that this stops Karlach's upgrades past the first one, but both at the Inn and in the City proper, Dammon is a vendor with some of the best buyable Gear in the game for either stage, so you loose out twice.
@@adrianreichelt7057 i think sometimes we need to lose something to gain something, for example, i dunno why but i restarted like maybe 100 over times and each time i stop to help ShadowHeart, so i often wonder WHAT IF, what if i DUN do that and what dialogue would i get if i pick that path (of cos now i can see plenty of alternative options on YT), but you do need to change ur regular choice to experience something different. its like what if you are Karlach or What if you are Wyll would you go and take Karlach life if you didnt would ur Main Char, Wyll be stuck with the ugly horns too..
Questions like these are what makes me keep replaying the game.

I did this to have a Karlach Minthara Wyll party. Then I discovered Dammon never makes it out of Act 1 thus stopping Karlach’s upgrade progression. Lame
You do not need her upgrade unless you are romancing her. All you lose is a vendor for both act 2 and act 3.
I'm guessing you can't recruit Jahiera here, can you? I haven't played this path before.
Nah you can. I did
guessing there is no banter between minthara and wyll/mama k?
Not sure about banter, but there are several dialogue lines in the files where Wyll and Karlach comment on the fact Minthara is pregnant, not sure if those were reintroduced via the Minthara Patch but there were indeed lines from those companions regarding Minthara's story and their personal thoughts
No, minthara likes Karlach. If you just ignore the grove you can get Wyll, Min and Karlach. It’s a planned outcome. You don’t get the party though.
no there's banter, I've gotten some between her and Karlach
She acknowledges their existence but they don't really talk outside of opinions on events. You can ask Minthy what she thinks of Wyll and Karlach.
Thats Clever
"My favorite companions, Wyll and Karlach". This gotta be a first.
im more intrested in recruiting minthara without killing the grove. like with the karlack thing kill her last without speaking to her. quest will update then resurect her. then party and then meet her in act two. no idea if works but minthara is playable caracter so a scroll should work
I think its game mechanic shenanigans, the thing that allows no-horny wyll + karlach is the same as anything involving killing karlach, she's flagged, by design, to be a companion from gameplay-scripting mechanic, thats why scrolls work. I suspect the same is not true for minthara, she's a regular NPC and if she's recruited the game gives you another minthara (think of different ID's), hence the trick can't work as she's just like any other npc you kill
Using cheat engine is working atm for both halsin and minthara, the bug I have is that she won't follow-move anywhere, only if I move her, which is odd. And I haven't tested once you get halsin as a legit companion what happens, thats a lot of testing.
Missing out on the tieflings is quite a lot of content, so I guess such a run would be reserved for a pure pragmatic-evil run where you know the game enough to know what you're missing (including gear).
@@aonirsplayground6224 im gonna test it with one of game later as i have mintara in a chest and see if works but be fun if you can get all companions to join your camp (karlack-wyll-halsin-mintara) i been looking for way for that😅 maybe some day
@@DarkWolfy41 at the moment its only through cheat engine for sure, but even then I'm unsure of the future consequences, even if I find a way to fix her non moving issue.
Karlach will never leave me: her head is sitting in my storage chest at camp.
i hope they dont patch it like last time you can recruit both halsin and minthara

It's a shame you have to jump through so many hoops or skip content so you can get all 3 in the party.
Is it? You're missing the point of an RPG
i did something similar in my first playtrough, but mintara became hostile because she came to attack the grove and the gove was closed off
It happens when you do not steal the idol.
No negative reaction maybe, but you condemn karlach to a lonely existence and that sir in good conscience i cannot do
Don't do need blacksmith for Karlach personal Quest? You get her the party but you won't be able to complete her Quest. You also won't be able to romance her since she is running too hot.
Everyone dying in the Grove stops you from completing Karlach personal quest tough. Dammon must live...
do they interact with eachother like other npcs?
there are a lot of interacctions between Wyll and Minthara and between Karlach and Minthara, so it is a path that was kept in mind by devs.
You do know that you can re-spec all the NPC’s to get the “best” party, right?
its about dialogue and interactions not the classes, thats why people are using character names instead of the the ones you can buy from withers.
Yes but without Dammon, Karlach dies at the end
