The funny thing is... For the Githyanki, this is probably the best ending. Also nice touch showing Vlaakith concerned/afraid considering how she carried herself throughout the game

@@sharpasacueball Yes and no. It all depends on how you interpret Lazels control of the elder brain. Is she does have full controll then Ilithids now are the slaves
@@kleszczoros4885 Yep this just seems like a lawful evil ending where Laezel kills vlaaktih but also uses the mind flayers as slaves now and forever. Not necessarily a moral ending but still good for the githyanki empire

I think it's a matter of perspective, the ending implies Lae'zel is off to face Vlaakith with this massive Illithid and Gith army and wants to become queen herself. Her morals concerning the liberation of her people are still there, whether her zeal makes her a better or worse queen than Vlaakith remains to be seen
In a hilarious way this would be a canon choice for a githyanki.
1: The illithid is enslaved. Pulling a uno-reverso on the idea that back during the illithid empire.
2: Queen Vlakith is slain.
3: The githyanki now have the means to complete their ultimate goal, which is actually enslaving the entire universe.
people tend to forget that generally speaking in FR lore, the Githyanki are the personification of the idea that 'I went through hardship, therefore EVERYONE should go through it, but worse, and caused by me' that a lot of boomers and/or conservatives believe in irl

@@SkoomaDenDenisen It's not a flex, it's an interesting note about their philosophy and a possible reason they were written that way. I don't know for sure if that was the intent but it's fun to consider.
@@Wveth I doubt it was the intention for a bunch of DnD game creators to base their ideas off of boomer conservatives. If they did, it'd be based on a cooler concept. I'm just saying, bringing up conservatives and boomers into a fictional discussion about fictional beings is just odd. Plus I'm going to be blunt, the Githyanki are cool and creative by design. I never saw them as conservative boomers and I still don't.

@@GeorgeWashingtonLaserMusket No, but he's using the Mind Control powers of the Absolute to render all the people into Atheist, cutting off the Gods from their prayors wich grants them more strength, and since he is not a real god and is attacking Elysium and not the Material Plane, he's out of Ao's judgement.
@@shindoliferp250yearschroni5 Wouldn't it meddle with godhood business so therefore Ao could intervene? If so then he stands no chance although without Ao he does pose a real threat against the gods, even if he doesn't wage war he can just cut the ties of their followers, clerics, paladins etc.
@@elliottcrain3097 Gods always keep meddling against eachother's business. The Dead Three specificaly made this plan so that they could weaken all the other gods to bring them down, they are quite carefull of Ao's rules because they are too scared to lose their godhood.
Gale is just doing exactly what the Dead Three sought to do (well the Original Plan, not the ones each had for themselves) so I think Gale is actually in this scenario is not in Ao's radar.

A reminder, Vlaakith is only CR 23 in the game itself. With how dragons are often overstatted for their CR, shes about even with an ancient dragon. There is a very good reason shes sweating bullets here. (and she has less than half the hp of an ancient dragon to make up the fact she can cast Wish. which is what she uses to kill you in the cutscene early on in the game if you defy her.)

@@ovencake523 They're just at most young or adults. But yes the ancients are stronger than her. Granted she has a unique protection that chromatic dragons specifically can't fight against her otherwise they'll piss off Tiamant and she'll deal with them. (She got this deal by feeding the previous gith ruler to tiamant.)
So Ansur is potentially > Vlaakith?
Likely the Absolute thing cuts the dragons off from Tiamat, like how Absolute Gale makes everyone atheist so he can kill the gods. This would allow Absolute Lae'zel to attack Vlaakith with the dragons.

You forget there is nothing stopping laezel to issue the destroy command to the elder brain. This can easily be turned into a very good ending.

That’s very true, although if there is any companion I’d trust to have the willpower not to give into such corruption and stick to their principles, it would be Lae’zel. She knows exactly her worth, both its heights and its limits. Not saying she wouldn’t be corrupted, but but she has the best chance not to be out of all the origins.

I'd argue that means that Lae'zel would not consider that under this ending 🤔

Probably had an elixir of giant strenght on with 8 STR, and when the cutscene started it removed the active effects.
She is carrying her fancy wardrobe of curse. A true queen slays in the runaway and on the battlefield.

@@NazinskyShe is a mythic level wizard (+20 level) she might not be a literal god, but that is just a technicality. A mythic wizard is arguably stronger than a god's avatar on the material plane anyways since they are not restricted in how they can act.

This would actually be evil if Lae'zel mind controlled the populace of Baldurs Gate to be her army in the overthrow of Vlaakith. But the way its presented here isn't really evil.

I’d assume by the fact that she said hail vlaaketh last of her name she intends to use her power against her too. Plus the way the gith came through the portal
I mean she forced people to transform into Gityanki and to be her servants under her new Empire, that's pretty evil.

@@baseupp12 those GIthyanki had damaged armour, those were Gith fighting in Baldurs Gate againts the mind flayers, they weren't random citizens that were transformed.

@@m0epinator To the brainwashed Gith, yeah, but to those who are in the know like Voss, it is a better ending, although still not the preferred seeing as Orpheus would've been the better option, I'm sure Voss would find Lae'zel acceptable if Orpheus was dead at this point as you can convince him to still help you.
It's good in theory but I suspect the implications are that instead of liberating the Githyanki like Orpheus intended to do, Lae'zel is simply disposing of one tyrant only to replace her with another: herself.

@@Cassandra_Solidor Unless you made Lae'zel really really evil, I think she's fine as a Githyanki morally, not as a normal person obviously but as a Githyanki she clearly sees the virtue in Orpheus and sees through Vlaakith's lies and is knowledgeable about what Gith truly want.

Vlaakith got what was coming to her. Pretty sad that you either have to: Become the absolute as Laezel, become a mindflayer as the player character or have to make Karlach a mindflayer in order to have a realstic chance of beating her.

This looks like the true ending if I'm being honest. Without a custom player character, the only one who's really suited to the setting on the ship is Lae'Zel, and because of the actual overarching story of Gith vs Mindflayers. it's a suiting end that she overthrows the person responsible for the mess in the first place. The "Canon" ending if the series were to continue.
With this ending, the Gith and the Mindflayers all also leave the planet and things will gradually return to normal, as normal as D&D gets at least.
God damn! This was the ending I wanted in my first playthrough, I just wanted to give Lae'zel the vengence she deserved. This was catharsis

Vlaakith is a fake god, but she’s still a high level Lich who’s been sitting on top of the corpse of a god and siphoning divine magic out of it for a millennia. She can cast Wish repeatedly and has a system to allow her to avoid the risk of rebound. In game terms, she is something like a level 25 Wizard/Lich, and canonically eats the soul of any Githyanki who gets to level 16. She can kill all the dominated Gith who just teleported in, in the same way she hypothetically kills the party. The threat that made her worried shouldn’t have been that a bunch of comparatively low-level gith suddenly enter her throne room with weapons drawn - what should have happened is Lae’ zel used the psionic powers of the Absolute to telepathically broadcast to the entire Gith empire in the astral plane the truth about Vlaakith, instantly destroying her cult of worship, while also using the enhanced powers of the Elder Brain to locate and obtain Vlaakith’s phylactory. Then she’s properly fucked on both the divine and arcane front.

To all those that say Vlaakith would just use a wish spell, you do understand that a wish spell can be counterspelled and or resisted right? Yeah, don't think this is going to be a easy fight for her. Especially with what all Laezel is bringing with her and Vlaakith doesn't have Orpheus to protect her from the power of the Neterbrain.
I recently tried Boosteroid since my PC can’t run Baldur’s Gate III, and I was impressed. It’s a great solution for anyone with an older system-played smoothly without any lag or issues. Definitely a cool option!

Killmonger "killed" T'Challa and took over Wakanda to fight for his ideals, no matter how gruesome it maybe, and he'll probably only focus on his intent to gain power.
Lae'Zel took over the slavers of their kind, Illithid Empire, even ousted Vlaakith... but to what end? I wonder if she plans to take all of the universe. Man, a duel boss fight of Vlaakith vs OP Ilitthid Powered Lae'Zel would be nice too

personally i would have opted for something as ambitous as gales, the gith will never be made because the illithid empire will never rise and neither species will ever be. laezel has the power to end the cycle of ilithid once and for all, after so many plans they have finally completley failed, the future has been changed.

The best evil ending in the game, Durge go hide in the corner. Lae is literally undoing eons of slavery by Vlaakith and Illithid empire. Truly a remarkable feat.
