The hardest difficulty is a Custom Game with Honour Ruleset, then you set everything to Tactician, set the Proficiency Bonus to -1 (this will effect your enemies slightly, but you even more), set Camp Cost to 3, Trader Price to 4, Turn off Multiclassing (no OP builds for you), Hide NPC Health, Failed Perception Rolls, Passive Rolls in Dialogues, and Difficulty Class During Rolls. @@gingergreenmashups you can manually choose your proficiency bonus on a custom ruleset. Normally, it follows basic DnD rules, increasing as you level from a +2-+4 by level 12. My favorite BG3 (and other Larian games) channel. Apart from learning about things in the game I never knew existed even for someone with 300+ hrs for each game (bg3, dos1, dos2), the best part is your narration and dry humor,
RE: the ketheric smokepowder strat. When acquiring smokepowder from the vendor in last light you need to discard the first stack to prevent that unfortunate accident, why I don't know but that is part of the speedrun route.
I did read that, and when i tried it still screwed up afterwards. I actually had lost 3 runs in a row to that bug because of reading that advice in the speedrun discord. Maybe I did something wrong or it got changed in patch 7? I don't really know.
It's because some grenades (I've personally seen it with smokepowder bombs and alchemist's fires) have glitched collision that causes them to explode on you when you chuck a stack of them. Barring corruption of stacks inside your inventory (which we are fairly sure happens but unsure as to how or why) you can only get them in the first stack from certain traders. With smokepowder bomb misfires specifically: Talli for sure has them, Derryth definitely had them before patch 7 but probably doesn't anymore, Araj will only ever sell you a single smokepowder bomb that is NOT glitched, and Barcus and all of the act 3 merchants seem to be safe. Bombs found in containers in the overworld are also safe (per my non-exhaustive testing).
@@ProxyGateTactician I don't believe there were any changes to Talli's misfires, but I can double check for you. Edit: There don't seem to have been any changes. As long as you buy the first 3 bombs (or the whole stack if she has less) and drop them on the ground/put them in a bag/put them in another character's inventory, you shouldn't run into the bug

6:18 she has both evasion, which means she either takes half damage on a failed saving throw, or no damage on a succesful saving throw, and she has high dexterity, meaning she's unlikely to fail her dex saves. I hate her 👍
The best thing is to trade with them to put all their gold and any items you want into a single container, then go into turn based mode to hide and pickpocket that container and all the items inside instead of needing multiple rolls to pickpocket the items separately.
I think Larian did something because after Patch 7 I still had a TON of gold I got using the 2 bag trick with vendors, but when I played 2 weeks ago after a week or so of not being able to play, almost all of my Gold was gone. Now I gotta come up with something, but unlike a Mandalorian, this is not the way. Thanks for this video!
I always have this pickpocketing hireling in my camp, but I use the halfling hireling for the halfling luck passive to help me out until that level 11 perk. Was able to use this build worry free on honor mode. I focused on stealing scrolls and high value low roll items (like gems) in acts 1 and 2 to sell for max gold with 100 approval merchants and a maxed charisma character. Since it was a hireling, I would just resurrect them if they died after a failed pickpocket attempt. Also, if you enter turn based mode, you can pickpocket everything in a merchant’s pockets within a single turn, so no risk of being spotted if you position right
You can pickpocket it all, but each item has a separate risk of a failure. Before you get the reliable talent perk that means you will almost certainly get a critical failure eventually if you try to steal too many items separately. I prefer to go to the trade (barter) menu to drag every single item and all their gold into a single container, so I can just take that one container and all of its contents with a single roll.
@@magister343 I play on PS5, so that’s unfortunately not an option. I just limit my pickpocketing (pre-natural talent, anyway) to only items that are a 6 or under roll-wise (or one or two weapons/armor I really need and want to try for before paying for them)

In act one you can comfortably begin stealing everything pretty quickly from all the merchants as long as you give Advantage. I used Astarion for his additional +1 from being Happy. Loot Happy.
You can make it a lot easier to pickpocket if you enter turn based mode before starting to pickpocket. Look at vision cones, find a good spot to stand, sneak, enter turn based mode, go wild and steal everything. Stealing isn't considered an action so you never need to end your turn.
Switching to turn based mode before pickpocketing stops the npc's from moving around and turning on you. You can still steal everything in their inventory.
You put so much work into these, kind of a shame that it only results in a 10 minute video where I almost have to pause and slow it down to see what's actually happening. I don't know if this is true for anyone else, but personally I wouldn't mind a less hectic pace for explaining everything and showcasing the route etc.
Thanks for the feedback. I honestly tried to slow it down here and it didn’t really happen lol Not sure why I struggle with that. I’ll try to keep working on it!

So actually a lot of people have the bomb exploding in hand when thrown from the floor issue, people think it's caused by talli 's first batch with every reset batch working fine
@6:15 Roah Moonglow is short so maybe the game thinks she's a Tiefling child and therefore invulnerable? Or more likely she had the lowest priority for the one-target missile that comes out of those explosives.
In my session yesterday, I noticed that Rolan's hologram in Sorcerous Sundaries, who mans the shop after you depose Lorroakan, could be pickpocketed indefinitely, with fails, without guards being called. Unless I had just encountered a weird bug, this seems like a quicker glitch free method.
Ur right about him I had found the same thing, but I didn't use that area because of my PC being hot garbage at loading that location. I think that could be a faster area because it's also next to 2 other high gold vendors
@Proxy Gate Tactician So about the bombs, they are actually bugged. When you buy the first set of bombs (1-3) you're supposed to give them to a companion then afterwards you can freely buy them without them exploding in your hands after you attempt to throw them.
I tried doing that but no matter what my bombs would bug. I tried ditching the first 3 sets one attempt even. I don’t know what I was doing wrong. Even had no mods enabled to mess with it
@@ProxyGateTactician Aah, yeah it bugs out with the first 3, Whenever I buy them I send them to shadow heart in the same trader/barder screen that way when I level up to reset her inventory I buy the amount of bombs she has. When throwing them after placing a set of 8-9 bombs into the world I use throw to grab them and toss, then for the phase two I set down another 8-9 and repeat.
Use world turn based mode to avoid being detected or have the NPC be aware that you are stealing from them: ❌ Complain about how the vendors run away: ✅
My pc going turn based mode in act 3 while I’m recording freezes the game for like 10 seconds. I’m upgrading next month thankfully. I only ever have issues in the city act 3 it’s so poorly optimized
The throwing bomb doesn't work because it mixes in the stack of the glitched bomb, which is either the first bomb you buy or start with, I always get invariable results when trying to separate them in half and saving game before throwing that halved stack to single out the one glitched bomb, sometimes it's 2 or 3 glitched bombs but anyway, that's why throwing bombs doesn't work and it's better to put 8-9 on the ground first in stack before throwing the two stacks from ground, one for each phase (with ring equipped)
I wonder if it wouldn't be faster to use respecs to get one vendor reset per level up instead of long resting. Another strategy could be to stack vendor inventories using a container, then kill them for it. That method could work without going act 3 first.
Roah Moonglow has Evasion. She most likely passed her saves against the fireworks, as Evasion makes you take no damage on passed Dexterity saves, rather than half
So I tried replicating this, and there was no way 16 bombs could one shot Ketheric phase 1. I tried using 19 and it consistently put him down to about 70-85, but with so many saving throws, and with them having a low DC and Ketheric being a paladin, I don’t think he could fail enough of the saving throws to make up the extra damage. I upped it to 25 but that was still just too short and then I was worried I wouldn’t have enough for Myrkul
The speedrunners do it with 8 on honour mode. Bombs are not consistent unfortunately so you can sometimes get away with a lot using few and other times need a lot
@ so it’s just kinda a lot of luck? I’ve honestly just resolved to pair getting the smokepowder bombs with the rune powder barrel and that should be overkill
@@karlwittenburg5868 Are you throwing them? The Speedrunners discord wrote that bombs deal double damage when thrown beside the target not directly at the target. That's why they use 8 and I went with 16 in mine. To me that's a bug, but they use it in the glitchless category.

I honestly tried to slow it down here and it didn’t really happen lol
Not sure why I struggle with that. I’ll try to keep working on it!
@@ProxyGateTactician I will catch the next one and see how that's coming along, cheers =)
I see we are applying the speedrunner defenition of quickly here.
Oh god, can't imagine getting that much money in BG3, this is gonna be ridiculous
that bomb line was too good, got me. that was a sick burn dude. LOLz, Pho real tho
hurts cause its true
Get rouge, get shapeshifter spell, get rings for ability chrcks while SS, get gear that boost SoH and Dex. Use blessing spells to boost it further. Start pickpocketing every NPC 😂😂😂 have a 1 million in camp chrst and 70k at hand 😊. Enjoy till they either nerf pickpocket.
Smoke abilities are great for a thief in this game. In the late game , Shadowheart are very usefull for this

AMERIKA! FUCK YEAH!
This Underpants Gnomes reference is AMAZING!
God Bless you ALL!
I cannot think of a better use for a million gold, honestly
With Roah, I had a similar thing where Astarion had Evasion and avoided the ~10 or so explosions when I picked up a trapped teddybear.
Several gaurds came running to see what what happening and wondered where the explosison where, and Astarion was standing there totally unharmed.
So actually a lot of people have the bomb exploding in hand when thrown from the floor issue, people think it's caused by talli 's first batch with every reset batch working fine
People think of autism as something terrible, I for one love these kind of videos
@3:50 you can shift click to drop all bombs quickly.
I want that %100 pickpocket build so bad now
this boi don’t miss, another great video
@6:15 Roah Moonglow is short so maybe the game thinks she's a Tiefling child and therefore invulnerable? Or more likely she had the lowest priority for the one-target missile that comes out of those explosives.
Great work on your videos my guy, keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
Minsc, Master Thief has a certain ring to it.
I think that could be a faster area because it's also next to 2 other high gold vendors
the ad I got on this video: "international saving day"
@Proxy Gate Tactician So about the bombs, they are actually bugged.
Use world turn based mode to avoid being detected or have the NPC be aware that you are stealing from them: ❌
Complain about how the vendors run away: ✅
I want someone to blood money and modify the nether brain's outside stats so it doesn't have the damage immunities, and one-shot the brain.
I wonder if it wouldn't be faster to use respecs to get one vendor reset per level up instead of long resting. Another strategy could be to stack vendor inventories using a container, then kill them for it. That method could work without going act 3 first.
When roah escapes you can find her leading the attack against nine fingers and take the gold off her then, it’s pretty good!
...now I want to see how he kills all the enemies with the use of the money at low level 😂
Wait, instead of killing her...I wonder if you could make an enemy permanently immobile by overloading them with gold?
Should've picked the noble background smh
Wow bro really made a whole spreadsheet for optimal robbery😂
Evasion is a helluva drug
0:30 the censor bar becoming bigger on "illegal penis" has me dying
Only 6686 damage?? Lane 😔
Can’t wait for Disney princess test
insane video LOL
Technically, good advice too.
Roah Moonglow has Evasion. She most likely passed her saves against the fireworks, as Evasion makes you take no damage on passed Dexterity saves, rather than half
You’re right but I still feel robbed
I always just pickpocket every vendor using Astarion with guidence on repeat after every long rest.
Turn on turned-based mode before every pickpocket attempt, the NPCs won't move and you won't be caught
I think I’d argue that the bomb acquisition in act 2 is an exploit
Fair enough. The speedrun community had decided that is not an exploit or glitch for their runs so I went with it.
The moment he said down by the river.
My mind:
“Down down down by the riverrrrrrrrrrr~~~~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!”
that one save file got my attention...
Just start as noble origin and its a wrap 0:00
So you can't become rich without exploiting others? Damn, didn't expect BG3 to be this realistic for a fantasy game.
I have never seen that bear before
Who is the most hated NPC? Didn't see them
Awesome effort! :D Can't you just do round-based mode and loot those vendors without haste?
Thank you proxy you never fail to impress with what you can do
So I tried replicating this, and there was no way 16 bombs could one shot Ketheric phase 1.
@ no I just placed them down next to him and threw a caustic bulb to ignite them
I understand why you sound tired when you did this on honor mode :o
it took me too long to realize your char is mr monopoly lmao
Gold having weight is ridiculous half the time my weight is just gold lol 😭💀
