You are thinking of Zevlor's replacement: Asharak or (if he too has fallen) Cerys. Gerson is only there to allow the ai to teleport to position without breaking immersion

if the spectator fight last long enough so that it unpetrifies all the drows, and you dont kill them during the fight (its easy because a bit of damage wakes them up and they help you), they stop being hostile when the monster dies and they can speak to you. if dhourn is dead they will simply thank you and tell you they will go back home. of dhourn is alive they will tell you to talk to him. if you do he questions you about the forge and if it was found yet. if you are a female drow you can humiliate him and bully the shards off his hands. if not regardless of how the convo go he will order the rest to kill you. you can also get the password to the crystal from him before triggering the fight and you dont need to pass an arcana check later
For Harper Yonas, even if you dont manage to save him you can take his sword and return it to the girl who is mourning over his grave, and is implied to have been in love with him. Didnt even realize in a lot of other playthroughs. I must have always sold it before i got to her. But in my tactician playthrough i was running around for inspiration and the option popped up when i talked to her. I thought it was sweet that i could return it ❤
you can kill the graverobbers after telling them to leave for double xp. you need to switch to roundbased modus right after the talk with the gome is finished, hit the stone and finally kill the other two.
On the "hail fighter" one I snuck behind them *from the crypt side* and when the cutscene triggered, I was able to convince them I was a ghost from the crypt and scared them off.
Something interesting I noticed that no one seems to have mentioned on any of the fact videos I’ve seen is there is a corpse under the building where the fake paladins of Tyr are that you can speak with dead on. The interesting thing is the take for the line “the corpse regards you lifelessly” is different than the normal one. It seems it’s a leftover from the early access when there were different takes and lines when you cast speak with dead.
I hope they never patch out the option to "save" Yonas. Ever since seeing your video on it, I've made sure to save him every time via turning him into a sheep. Once his sheep form wears off he's cured, and is no longer hostile but instead helps take out the shadow creatures.
Another way you handle some of the examples. #1. Instead of moving far away to use command, then fog cloud and fast travel, you can break the door and follow the guards upstairs to a blocked door where counselor Florrick is trapped behind. Instead of breaking the door first, cast command drop on the guard with the sword. Once dropped break the door and they will all run away. Run after them and trigger the cut scene with Florrick. Afterwards the guards run off given their orders. You can safely walk back upstairs and pick up the sword. #8. If you stealth up from the lower side where the would be tomb raiders are talking, you can also shoot the rope holding a heavy slab. It will drop and break ground next to them, killing them both instantly. This does start combat with the remaining 2 but it also opens another entrance to the tomb. #8-part2. Be warned, the other group in the tomb will hear the noise and come to investigate. If you enter the tomb this way, get everyone inside before moving towards the door. The upside to entering the tomb this way is when the door between the room you jump down into and the rest of the tomb is opened, combat will start with the opponents all standing around an explosive barrel. Shadow or Astarion can cast firebolt as a racial spell,. Gail may if you picked firebolt as a cantrip, or use a fire arrow if you have found one. You can take out most of the group in 1 shot.
Addition to #8-part2: if you play in tactician mode, have your defenses up (like mage armor for gale if he has it), because they might very well roll higher initiatives than you, and just bomb you with alchemist's fire and arrows before you even get a turn. The long way around is safer in Tactician / Honor mode.
@@GergelyGyurics on honor mode I use the main door and did throw and range attacks then closed the door and lock it. You can also let one or two out into the dining hall area then lock the door behind them. If you have an alchemist fire or something burning next to the door they won't come up to brake it down.
For those who are still unaware - You don’t HAVE to kill all 3 goblin leaders) You can kill 2 and knock out Minthara that is considered dead by the script which makes you successfully finish quest and recruit her in Moonrise towers)
@@xtyou2547 you have to melee attack and ensure you have non-lethal toggled on. I did this and KO’d Minthara. Then saved her in Moonrise and recruited her to my camp in a good play through. I didn’t lose any party members.

What are the terms of even seeing this corpse? The only corpse inside the crashed ship is the mindflayer and I am pretty sure I searched all the area inside out in 3 playthroughs
There's a lot of interactions if you manage to keep the drow in the spectator fight alive too, or cure the petrification, though nothing that really amounts to anything worthwhile.
5:22 sharded cutscene. if you kill the Spector without killing the people it unpetrified they will lose hostility because the Spector lost control over them, it leads to dialog and getting shown the shard and have a few options to go from, i found this out accidently on my first playthrough and well ended up killing him for the shard anyway xD
Random Pro Tip: Wide sturdy chests are broken. They cockblock the two cambions on the prologue and the graverobbers inside the building too, if placed well. You can lock them away from you, making it a completely ranged fight... which you should aim to do, if it benefits you. I believe the barbarian graverobber is the only one being able to damage sturdy chests with very high attack rolls.
In past patches you could save Yonas just puting a light sphere in the area while being invisible. Now, if you do that, the fight ends inmediatly and the game takes it as if you participated in the battle. Also, the cutscene trigger area became bigger to avoid you cast light sphere from distance. However I haven't tried yet a Sorcerer with distant spell + turn based mode
Fast travelling away from Waukeen's Rest will kill Florrick so play that command drop game very carefully. Plus if you save Yeva in the mindflayer colony later she'll be disarmed. The second guy is just a contingency plan in place by Larian to load the grove setting and get the NPCs to the correct placement. Lol the memory shard, how do people miss that? You just double click it lolol. Love your vids thank you for your deep dives, this is my favorite game and I have over 3000 hours in it :P
I made a comment about this but didn't know fast traveling away would kill Florrick. Instead, before busting Florrick out, Command drop on the Fist at the door. Then bust Florrick out and do the cut scene. Follow everyone outside and complete the second cut scene. After the Fist are sent off on their mission and you can walk back upstairs and pick up the sword.

For number 1, I believe warlock also has a dialog option that has no roll but makes them panic and leave the ruins as well. Something about poisonous gas I believe.
When it comes to the looters at Jergals temple my favorite way to deal with them is to exit the temple and do the dialogue checks where you pretend to be some sort of awoken undead

With the "hail fight", I ended up dropping the stone above the two main guys, killing them out right, using astarion to sneak attack the halfing on the box in one shot, then wailing on the mage with shadowheart and sorcerer tav
I thwapped a shadow druid rat and missed. This caused them to flee and removed from the game. When I confronted Kahga and the shadow druids, in every single scenario, the shadow druids never entered the fight. So if you convince Kahga to side against the shadow druids, the battle against them do not initiate and the journal gets funky but the quest is completed.
I mean, you can also get Woundseeker if you save the counselor Florrick, get the reward and just follow them. Once gauntlet Yeva separates from them, just follow her a bit, once she's isolated, just knock her out (not kill), and loot the sword.
For the sword as first thing on video, you can disguise self, command drop weapon, drink invisibilty potion and move far enough for not to detect you and sprint away (all alone), and you get the early "OP" weapon lol
Something I found out about the drow leader at the spectator fight; the guy he was meeting, the one who summoned the spectator, is the unalive drow in the myconid colony, the one that has part of the mourning frost staff. I found this out first by talking to the drow leader while he was alive. He mentioned the other guy by name and asked me about him. I hadn't checked the unalive drow yet so all I could do was say I didn't know him. I don't remember if I was a fem drow during this dialog or not. Then later, I used speak to unalive on the unalive drow, asked him his name, and he gave me the same name that the drow leader had mentioned. If you could, could you see if there's a change in dialog if you speak to unalive on the unalive drow, then do the dialog with the drow leader?
Hail Fighter: you can also have them leave without a check while playing a half orc, instead of fighter you will have half-orc option and their lines are the same.
The mistery NPC also appears at the Last Light Inn to warn you about not leaving the safe place without being blessed by Isobel. The way to make him yo appear was by leaving one party member at the inn while the others are at the moonrise tower when I tried to leave with the one left behind, the npc appeared
Oh man. I just learned about that first sword the other day. We're doing our first honor mode run and we used barrels to blow up all the fists and just looted it. I guess Drop would have been easier lol.
alt strategy for number 1: lure the githyanki from the bridge over to here and they will fight the fist soldiers for you, then you fight whoever wins that fight. you can still save Florrick and get that quest reward after wiping everyone out if you time it right.
Easier alt way, follow them upstairs. Cast command drop while they are around the door that Florrick is trapped behind. They don't aggro.-5 favor if she succeeds the save. Free Florrick, follow downstairs. Do the cut scene and get your spark item. After that, the fist are all sent away on their mission. Simply walk back upstairs and pick up the sword.
You can get very good sword on mindflayer ship in prologue, just kill commander Zhaik or whatever this devil's name is. With the help of the mindflayer he is fighting, you will have time to reach the controls.
I accidentally ended up in an area where the Tiefling is, along with many other models that all attack. Most I still haven't seen 😂 but of course I've used mods. It seemed like a loading room for most
The shard crystal, I always click use, and it shows me the forge. This was in 4 playthroughs. Maybe there was an update? I dk. I don't recall having to roll anything. I just thought it was to give you the forge quest.

On the Owlbear mother death, I'm absolutely certain that on my first playthrough I got a line saying "She deserved better..." from someone: maybe Karlach or Shadowheart? Implies that there are multiple possible responses from each character, if I'm not hallucinating.

FYI: you can activate the memory shard without an arcana check by getting the password from Dhorn or however u spell his name. I killed the spectator with Dhorohrn alive, he talked to me then attacked me. The. I used speak with the dead on him. He has a password.
I f-d up act one I didn’t intend to kill the Druid camp but did but went ahead with my play through realized I can’t in fact pick up Karlach if they die so here we are redoing it all again with a few mods. (I have more fun with a larger party as it makes it easier on me I’m here for story not fighting but I want to multi class so I can’t do story mode that’s my dilemma

I resolved the goblin camp and party before getting to the owlbear cave. I walked in, talked my way out of combat, left for other stuff / long rested. Re-enter the cave and the owlbear mother is dead. Idk where those goblins hid but they got to her. Those dastards. Owlbear cub came to camp 2 or so long rests later.
D*** I had no idea about that sort, but I just take the flaming one at the very start. If I remember correctly, it's still better than this sword. And the best sword you'll possibly get till midway, act two

he will let you leave if you have met at least one of the other wizards he betrayed and lie that you didn't find anything from them

There is a scene that is also unique scene where you can dance with Zae, a Tiefling who only appears if Lakrissa has been killed or knocked out.

If you play as Astarion you can convince them you are a vampire using this method

EA also had that placeholder Karlach in the area. Her quest was probably one of the last things put into Act 1, along with it tying into Wyll's story.

I did that to get her and then her ko'd body was moved from the area she stands to the entrance of the hall with Gut and I forgot to loot her 🤣

@ you can even double-check if she is still alive by looking at the quest log. I did it first try, it's not that hard.

If you heal the owl bear mom the character that heals her says she’s healed but no less angry. A small bit of dialogue, but nice world building.

regarding the last one, you can also be a half orc to get gimblebock and the bandits to leave without a check
I thwapped a shadow druid rat and missed. This caused them to flee and removed from the game. When I confronted Kahga and the shadow druids, in every single scenario, the shadow druids never entered the fight. So if you convince Kahga to side against the shadow druids, the battle against them do not initiate and the journal gets funky but the quest is completed.
I mean, you can also get Woundseeker if you save the counselor Florrick, get the reward and just follow them. Once gauntlet Yeva separates from them, just follow her a bit, once she's isolated, just knock her out (not kill), and loot the sword.
Using the class specific dialogue on the dead nobleman will give you approval from Karlach if she is in your party when you do it
if you kill the beholder but keep the owner of the memory shard alive he has a conversation with you about the forge
What if you kill all the goblins before returning to the owl bear?
The orphaned owlbear baby still appears in the goblin camp. It sadly doesn't change wether or not you approach the mama. :(

For the sword as first thing on video, you can disguise self, command drop weapon, drink invisibilty potion and move far enough for not to detect you and sprint away (all alone), and you get the early "OP" weapon lol
Something I found out about the drow leader at the spectator fight; the guy he was meeting, the one who summoned the spectator, is the unalive drow in the myconid colony, the one that has part of the mourning frost staff. I found this out first by talking to the drow leader while he was alive. He mentioned the other guy by name and asked me about him. I hadn't checked the unalive drow yet so all I could do was say I didn't know him. I don't remember if I was a fem drow during this dialog or not. Then later, I used speak to unalive on the unalive drow, asked him his name, and he gave me the same name that the drow leader had mentioned.
If you could, could you see if there's a change in dialog if you speak to unalive on the unalive drow, then do the dialog with the drow leader?
Surprisingly I only knew the fighter and the shard one. Goof effort!
Hail Fighter: you can also have them leave without a check while playing a half orc, instead of fighter you will have half-orc option and their lines are the same.
The memory shard IS for the forge it does as it says gives you a small description of the adamantine forge just another way you can learn about it

If you force the duo you found to attack the owlbeast mother, and run from the fight, rest & comeback, you find the duo dead, and the cub is gone
The mistery NPC also appears at the Last Light Inn to warn you about not leaving the safe place without being blessed by Isobel. The way to make him yo appear was by leaving one party member at the inn while the others are at the moonrise tower when I tried to leave with the one left behind, the npc appeared
You can side with the grove and not kill Minthara, just knock her out, can even take her armor, and rescue her in act 2, she'll still join you.
Oh man. I just learned about that first sword the other day. We're doing our first honor mode run and we used barrels to blow up all the fists and just looted it. I guess Drop would have been easier lol.
alt strategy for number 1: lure the githyanki from the bridge over to here and they will fight the fist soldiers for you, then you fight whoever wins that fight. you can still save Florrick and get that quest reward after wiping everyone out if you time it right.
Easier alt way, follow them upstairs. Cast command drop while they are around the door that Florrick is trapped behind. They don't aggro.-5 favor if she succeeds the save.
Free Florrick, follow downstairs. Do the cut scene and get your spark item. After that, the fist are all sent away on their mission. Simply walk back upstairs and pick up the sword.
You can get very good sword on mindflayer ship in prologue, just kill commander Zhaik or whatever this devil's name is. With the help of the mindflayer he is fighting, you will have time to reach the controls.
Gimblebock (the gnome looter) also won't need a dialog check if you're a warlock and say the ship is full of poisonous vapors
I accidentally ended up in an area where the Tiefling is, along with many other models that all attack. Most I still haven't seen 😂 but of course I've used mods. It seemed like a loading room for most
The shard crystal, I always click use, and it shows me the forge. This was in 4 playthroughs. Maybe there was an update? I dk. I don't recall having to roll anything. I just thought it was to give you the forge quest.
Probably you used speak with dead on the owner of the crystal to get the password. That way, you don't need the arcane roll
@@alessandrogarofalo9951 this, you can speak with the dead or if you survive the fight, there is a way to persuade him into giving you the password before he aggros on you.

I think that guy in the grove cutscene can act as a fallback character if zevlor is dead.
If you're a half orc you also get a dialogue option garenteed to scare off the grave robbers
On the last one. Warlock also gets an instant pass for the dialogue check
On the Owlbear mother death, I'm absolutely certain that on my first playthrough I got a line saying "She deserved better..." from someone: maybe Karlach or Shadowheart? Implies that there are multiple possible responses from each character, if I'm not hallucinating.
Rangers get the same option as Druids with regards to burying the dead nobleman.
the subtitles not being multi colored is great, tyvm, still dont need them baked into the video when youtube has that feature, but great vid and content

You can learn how to see into the Memory Shard if you use speak with dead on Dhourn.
You can carry Olodan into Netti's room and throw her on the ground, enter turn base and use Astarion to sneak attack. She'll be 💀 before the game can recognise combat lol
If you play a female Drow and Dhourn is alive, you can force him to show you the memory shard.
The Ranger Class also has the dialogue option to offer to bury the Nobleman.
Saving Yonas does actually do nothing. If he dies, you get at least a hidden mini quest. Take his Harper sword and go to Last light Inn. There’s a female harper friend of his you can give it to
Noble burial - there's a special response to clerics of Lolth. it may apply to all clerics for evil deities.
On the memory shard, if you use speak with dead on the drow you take it off of, he gives you the password to activate it!
In the last one, barbaric or half-orc works too
FYI: you can activate the memory shard without an arcana check by getting the password from Dhorn or however u spell his name.
I killed the spectator with Dhorohrn alive, he talked to me then attacked me. The. I used speak with the dead on him. He has a password.
You can avoid the Arcana check to use the memory shard if you Speak with Dead on the drow to find out the password.
Idk why I never thought of just breaking the door 😅
Unfortunately things like fog cloud, darkness, etc. These will now trigger combat with any npc that walks into it
I f-d up act one I didn’t intend to kill the Druid camp but did but went ahead with my play through realized I can’t in fact pick up Karlach if they die so here we are redoing it all again with a few mods. (I have more fun with a larger party as it makes it easier on me I’m here for story not fighting but I want to multi class so I can’t do story mode that’s my dilemma

So with the new update from Patch 7, does the new content get implemented in the existing game files? So for example, I got a Dark Urge safe game where I am at the very beginning of act 2. Do I have the chance, to see the new Cutscenes at the end or do I have to start a new play through?

What happens if you kill ALL of the goblins before longresting for the Owl bear mother
I resolved the goblin camp and party before getting to the owlbear cave.
I walked in, talked my way out of combat, left for other stuff / long rested. Re-enter the cave and the owlbear mother is dead. Idk where those goblins hid but they got to her. Those dastards.
Owlbear cub came to camp 2 or so long rests later.

D*** I had no idea about that sort, but I just take the flaming one at the very start. If I remember correctly, it's still better than this sword. And the best sword you'll possibly get till midway, act two
It was a little hard for me to hear the dialogue with the game music, but maybe it was just me.
Ill do you one better about the memory shard. If ur a female drow u can convince him to give you the shard, and a goofy password to use it without a check to get this password.
that last 1 also works with half-orcs.
Go through the withers temple in reverse for funny dialog.
Moust I know and some don't but the sword is a lie. You can get better in act one but it is difficult and would require load of saves and loads.
