This is a perfectly timed video because I'm starting my new Amazon fulfillment center job next week and I was curious about dress code and what shoes to wear. Especially as a big guy I have worked many labor intensive jobs and have stood on my feet for hours but I still deal with feet and leg pains. So comfortable shoes is super important.
@@aaaaaaaaaaron92 hell nah it only lasted 2 days because I came down sick and almost died seriously so I had to quit. I was originally a Class A Truck driver but had some health problems that caught up with me around the time I started at Amazon back then.
get insoles like the dr shuls or w/e there called..Trust me my feet never hurt cause i use em and break in your new shoes on your days off or at home if you need to.
Check your 1st day arrival time in your text messages. You may get texts from Amazon from multiple phone numbers. If the time on a website or e-mail conflicts with the texts, trust the texts.
Hoodies and Joggers Jordan’s or Yeezy‘s are my dress code at Amazon every day lol i’m one of those people even though I’m not a guy I wear all my good shoes to work, I wore mine Yeezy ash blue 350 V2’s yesterday…..even though I already work at a Amazon warehouse I do enjoy these videos, great good 👍
I wear Air forces 1s they’re okay but if you wanna feel like you’re walking on clouds, wear Adidas Ultraboost. They are expensive but if you can find a good deal they’re 100% worth it.
My right foot pretty much dictates what shoes I wear. Shoes for Crews online might be too nice for some. Shoes that have arches inside, curve on the bottom, and have THICK soles help me a lot. Feet still get tired, but not like with other shoes, and my right foot has no special issue with them. Shoes do definitely make a difference. Thank you for the information.
Sketchers got soles and insoles for all people with variable needs. Got me some Arch Fit new ones yesterday but Zappos also has many of the same styles at the mall. I worked at the aiport for over two decades on cement, between terminals so like Amazon facilities there are variable surfaces, marble, mats and cement. Sketchers Air cool memory foam style hold up for 8 hrs but its a must to have your feet and gait analyzed before settled on Walmart inserts which nay work for a bit. I overpronate so Saucony has many style for me that suffice when Sketchers wont. At Amazon you could be pushing carts of bins around and that leads to stretching of the foot tendons with cheap shoes. Asics are great for women but too cushing is not good prolonged wearing upon mats when packing. The jobs are basically a war on the feet and joints so be prepared to invest in your health and safety whether steel toes or not. Good luck! And watch out for the docking of UPT time when accepting VTO time off.
6 months later my back hurts because of the Zappos shoes (Reebok and Skechers) put a toll in my back and now starting to hurt my legs when standing and walking all day. This is even just in an Amazon Fresh store, they require as safety shoes 100% of the time
The lanyard they gave me for my badge was too long, it kept getting in my way. A manager recommended I get a retractable badge reel. This helps a lot. They are cheap, available everywhere, they clip to your shirt. Keep your badge in your car, if you forget it, you can’t even get in the building.
Appreciate the video, wasnt sure if Joggers were allowed or not cus it only states Jeans are and it was making me nervous for me first day tomorrow, didnt wanna get sent home on first day ahaha
CATs are Caterpillars BRAND as in the construction the construction equipment company been wearing them since I was 17 they even saved my toes about a dozen times. I think the ones that Amazon pays for are the composite version like the. Those are the kind I got one parent red the Amazon paid for and I paid for a second pair in blue
It depends on the job you get. I have done packing for 2 weeks. Quite boring, not super strenuous. Today they needed me on the inbound loading dock. Less boring, but definitely more of a workout. Comfortable shoes and/or insoles are an absolute MUST!!
That’s what a lot of people say! It doesn’t apply for me though, I can’t lose weight like that. It just depends on the person. My friend who’s first job was walmart back in high school started losing weight just by walking at work in his first week meanwhile I worked at a very fast paced restaurant as a busser and lost no weight. Even at one of my older warehouse jobs where I was sweating buckets of sweat away in a hot ass warehouse I lost no weight. So it really just depends on the person but from what I’ve heard yeah, so many ppl lose weight here
We don't have to wear steel toe at my location in Pennsylvania but we have to wear a composite toe which in hindsight is a little bit safer to if you really think about steel toe your feet will be completely removed from your if something God forbid really heavy falls but composite toe will allow your toes to be completely smashed and maybe they're able to fix a few
How about a video with Boomer's (proud to be one) and Seasonal Work. Is it too strenuous? Shorter shifts? Fewer days? Travel Shifts? Benefits? Thanks. Happy to support you.
As a seasonal employee your benefits are greatly limited. I'm seasonal right now and working 10hr shifts Sun, Mon, Tue, and Wednesday. Full time hours technically but not the same pay or near the same benefits as the other associates. Plus I haven't even started doing OT yet. They have a voluntary and mandatory OT policy. At the end of the month/peak season I might be eligible for conversion to full-time (or a "blue badge"). If not, I'll be let go and will simply have to wait to reapply for a full-time position if/when one opens. As a seasonal employee you don't have access to many of the benefits aside from maybe Medical after so long (but don't quote me on that). That means no Career Choice, Internal Job Transfers, Tuition/Certification Assistance, Holiday Pay, and I think even some of the time off policies don't apply (like VTO). There are a lot of older folks at Amazon surprisingly. And with the right experience and history the higher age and maturity may actually be helpful when seeking employment and especially promotion - lot of their low tier employees are essentially high school age kids (or just graduated) working their first job it seems. So a good deal of slacking off, being late, taking days off work, being real cliquey, etc. Right now I do honestly feel sort of stuck as a seasonal employee. I'd like to be cross trained in other areas of the warehouse but is the juice even worth the squeeze ya know? And even after potentially being hired full time I'll have to wait a good 90 or so days before any benefits apply to me. My main goal right now is to attain a few CompTIA certs and transfer to the IT Department, then pursue an undergrad degree at the community college. That's on the back burner for now cause I'm broke as all hell 😂
Couple questions. I read that they used to not allow phones and would confiscate them for the shift. Can you bring phones in? Next question is a bit off the wall. I yo-yo. Like the kids toy that goes up and down. I carry a metal yo-yo on my belt 24/7. Would they allow this? Getting ready. I start in a week.
Currently they’re allowing you to bring phones in due to Covid-19, but usually, no. As for the yo-yo, I think they’ll allow it. It might make the metal detectors go off occasionally, but you won’t get in trouble for it
I bought some Timberland Pros Composite toe high tops. Super comfortable, and stylish. I'd wear these going out and about tbh or even when I'm in the mountains hiking
Oh another thing if you have a lot of calluses on your feet. Though cause your feet to really hurt after the long hours especially if you 1st start and you already had them. I recommend soaking your feet and trying to get them off if not go to get a pedicure.
I you are going to wear saftey boots I would definitely recommend toetectors denton mid they are proper nice and comfy and look pretty to they almost look loke nike af1 hi tops which in my opinion a re pretty dam hot 🔥 💥🔥💯👍..
Girls at work in yoga pants like got me sayin' OMG OMG so many ways I wanna... On the other hand, this dude showing off his tats always in his 70s tank tops smelling like ass got me SMH and putting a dbl mask a week 😂
I think you could make your videos shorter and not repeat yourself over and over. May may get more views and likes if you just make it easier for us to watch without repeating yourself so much. I do appreciate the content.

Memory foam insoles made all the difference for me. SofComfort, $8. Use the original insoles as a template for cutting the new ones to fit.

You should do a video about what you meal prep with before leaving to Amazon I have no idea what to take with me for a long day 😂
Oooh that's a great idea! Thank you! I'm going to write that down, and I'll definitely do that soon! Love the idea.

In 3 weeks I lost 15 lbs.
But then again it depends on the job,if u sitting on your buttocks for 10 hrs you probably won't lose anything.
