Not just related to people and how we eat, one of the best lessons I have learned in my life is: What other people think of me is none of my business.
I do the pre-view a restaurant's menu beforehand & decide what I'll order, in advance too.

I offended a friend not meaning to. She was coming to our house to stay with her husband and wanted to bring zucchini squash. I told that was fine but I’ve started eating my meat again and trying to leave that stuff out of my body but I told her bring it with you and you all can it it and I’ll make some meat on the side for me and anyone else who wants it. We got a call later she wasn’t coming but her husband was. So I think she was really offended that I didn’t want to eat it. Some people get offended really easy, but I love what you ladies are teaching me.

Kelly’s videos get a thumbs up from me even before they start playing :)
I’ve brought Wendy’s burger patties to a party before and have also eaten in advance of a party. After the first time, you realize it’s just not a big deal! Same goes for the first time I went to a party and didn’t drink alcohol.
This practice has also been a great, unexpected lesson on humility; if I go to a gathering, I should go with the mindset of how I can be a blessing to others and not overly concerned with myself and how I may be perceived.

Yep, you're spot on. I haven't drank alcohol for 17 years, and literally know one notices or cares. I'm new to carnivore and it feels similar to when I was first sober and trying to navigate social situations. A lot of people these days have either done some low-carb, Keto or Atkins, so it's not hard to understand the benefits.

kids school can be a bit judgy about lunch boxes so i serve their meat eggs and cheese on top of some leafy salad and tell them not to eat the salad.. so they are known as the healthy kids in school because of the salad that they dont eat lol. That and saying they are gluten intolerant really saves me from having to explain anything.

I wish he was more supportive 😒 I know it's still crazy to some people, but a great mainstream example is that even slim fast is selling keto stuff at walmart now. Once you can conceptualize that high fat is good, then the jump to meat only doesn't seem that odd. Just my $0.02. Best of luck girl!

Often, people want you to fail, because they don't have what it takes to do the diet. TOP TIP! Go out with a vegan so you can eat the meat and they can eat the rest ;^)..... assuming they have the energy to go out!

I got a ton of push back from family and friends back in December of 2018 when I started, but now that they see me looking and feeling better than I ever have I have a few family and friends that have started doing their own versions of carnivore.

"People don't notice (what you eat.)" Really? Meat-shaming is real in my world. Nearly all my friends are going vegetarian or vegan. So much so I ALWAYS carry a can of sardines with me or eat before a potluck (which are nearly always vegan/vegetarian.) And since all my friends are proud home cooks, they're also insulted if you won't eat their food. Unfortunately it's now become a political stance. Ultimately I have to do what's good for my own health, but it also makes me a social pariah.

Them being insulted is their problem. I don’t mean that to be rude or dismissive; I mean it literally. They’re not upset at you skipping their food; they’re upset at THEIR OWN thoughts about what it means when you skip their food (it’s disrespectful; i spent so much time cooking this food, and she won’t eat it; doesn’t she like my food) I’ve taken food to eat or fasted at my parents-in-laws. I’ve taken my own food for Thanksgiving at my sister-in-law’s and at my grandma’s houses. Not to mention, I find that the more I am okay with doing it (don’t feel any guilt, etc), the less it’s reflected back to me in them, and the less of a problem they seemingly make it. And, even if they do make it a problem, I don’t feel bad about it, so I don’t get upset.

Actually, the ones closest to me are the most concerned about my diet. They don’t get carnivore & don’t want to hear about it. They’re absolutely convinced I’m headed to an early grave by eating just meat. To the point that I’m pretty sure somebody is gonna organize an intervention one of these days. Everybody in my life takes notice of every single thing I do or don’t put in my mouth.

IMO, it’s the hostess/host’s job to ask if anyone has any dietary restrictions beforehand. I do this because my children have anaphylactic food allergies and so I’m conscientious about asking others. But if they don’t, it’s okay to simply tell the host/hostess that you’re only able to eat animal products due to “digestive issues” ( what I usually say 😉) or elimination diet or some other “socially acceptable excuse” that makes both you and them feel more at ease.

No problem with that, but they cook in canola oil so I asked her if it could be cooked in butter - no problem with that either. I was so full and it was delicious. Ordering a black coffee with runny cream on the side also helps take attention away from the other too. So what if you get a ‘look’, it’s always worth asking!

There's nothing that I would eat. Someone is always asking why I'm not eating and I've said that I'm on an elimination diet to identify the foods that help me feel the best. This last week someone said something about bringing a broccoli salad cause they think it's healthy. I also prefer to eat mid afternoon to give my body several hours to digest the food before I go to bed.

It can always be a challenge to eat at a relative’s home that is nearly vegetarian when there’s pasta in everything and bread and a big salad and tiny bits of meat if anything or vegetable soup.😱I’ve learned to eat beforehand so I am not tempted to eat things that are just not optimal for me lol. I am not there to debate regarding nutrition, just spend time with family.☺️Once I decided to do that it has been so much less stressful. 😋 I used to eat whatever was there and try to fast it off afterwards but it just didn’t work for me even then. I couldn’t help overdoing the starches and feeling terrible and trying to not make a big deal over it and not make a fuss but it didn’t work well for me.🤷🏻‍♀️ Now I know better!

Have you ever had a meal with a vegan? They're quite preachy and controlling.

Just seen a post on a carnivore Facebook page. Poster is 10 days in and asking if ok to have some of her kids birthday cake.
It’s like she coming to a bunch of strangers who don’t care if she eats the cake or not, to get permission to cheat.

Thank you Kelly. Another great video.
I just checked out Dr Weideman's Instagram page and I was surprised to see that she has "Intermittent Faster" in her description at the top of the page as I know that this is something that is frowned upon in the ZIOH Group.

    • @myzerocarblife
      @myzerocarblife  4 роки тому +2

She never advocates for fasting in ZIOH, since we are still a non-fasting group. I honestly didn’t even notice that in her profile and hadn’t realized she uses fasting, but I know some people do it and enjoy it. I’m definitely not one of them, but I still love Dr. Lisa. ❤️

I understand Kelly, neither am I. I wasn't suggesting that you should not "love" her...I was just surprised.
BTW...Lisa also lists 'Intermittent Fasting' on her MeatRX Coach profile which is sending a mixed message.

@@wherethereslifethereshope9858 Mixed for whom? Technically every human "intermittently fasts" every night while sleeping, some extend it longer periods for other reasons they will outline on other sites, ZIOH does not promote fasting talk as some misunderstand and abuse it like any intervention. Its just a tool, but keep in mind it happens naturally usually in carnivore, if you eat meat when hungry the distance between meals often spreads itself out. Intermittent fasting is just the time fasting between the last meal of one day to the "break Fast" aka breakfast. to each his own. Many will end up with one or two meals a day naturally--that is "technically" the definition of IF. Some explore longer periods be it for religious or other healing properties they believe--I like that ZIOH does not sidetrack with it, but there are many sites for those who want to explore it for themselves.

Hands down the hardest thing for me. Two weeks ago, I’m having steak and shrimp as my meal and very content. Gourmet cupcakes brought out and I had no desire. My husbands mom says “get you a plate”, I say no thank you! She says one bite won’t kill you, I say no thank you! And she said wow you have good will power....
How do I deal with someone that won’t back off? This is a monthly occurrence with all of my family.
