I'm the same way, and I don't even have those carb cravings or sugar cravings I used to have a month ago or so. I've only been on it for a couple of months, but already see my body changing for the better.
What's crazy is that I tried eating an apple the other day as a quick snack and I felt like all I tasted was pesticides & chemicals. I couldn't even finish it, which is a first for me. My body's changing, but apparently, so are my taste buds.
My body's no longer going after or requiring these sugars or carbs and my energy and joints feel great!

I’m 60. Just started carnivore a little over two months ago.
A life-long depression is gone. Working with Dr to slowly get off of the antidepressant I’m taking.
Energy is off the charts! My gut stopped hurting.
Losing weight has been the icing on the cake.
As far as plants go, I’ll just look at them. 😃

As a retired physician, I must agree with your guest, physicians are totally unable to think critically! If you ever wondered why residency training is designed to be stressful and incredibly sleep deprived, it’s because it’s brain washing! The residency experience is so profound that it may take an entire career to undo…or never! POW camps have used similar techniques for the same results.

I have been vegan and vegetarian for over 4 years. Today is my 4th day doing a carnivore/keto diet. I originally discovered this diet through Jordan Peterson. I have thought about meat prior. My body was subconsciously craving some fried liver. The same dish my mom would make as I was growing up. Little did I know how nutritious it was! I decided to try the diet due to my eczema, and low energy. Many people I read found success. So I put my ideal aside and wanted to TEST the hypothesis. WOW. The very first morning I woke up after having my carnivore diet... I woke up with ENERGY. I did not need a coffee and 1 hour to 'get myself going'. It's probably been since I was a teenager I felt like that. I felt 'full' until lunch and had another serving. The following 3 days I felt better and better. I slept better. Energy up. Focus up. My eczema is slowly less aggrivated. I am mentally scared though. This diet is all fat and protein, so I am "concerned" due to being indoctrinated about the 'healthy' diet. But it's hard to deny how I feel.

I've never enjoyed meals as much as i do now. Whenever people ask if it's boring to eat the same thing every day, it reminds me that they probably don't get that same feeling on a regular diet.

Up until 3 yrs ago I was on statins, blood pressure tabs and protein pump tabs.
I have never been offered solutions other than meds.
I looked into it myself. I went keto and joined a gym. I began to go long dog walks whereas previously I was restricted by anterior compartment syndrome.
In 3 months I lost 42lb, despite putting on significanr muscle. Arnies advice that once you have had muscle it comes back easier is true. 😁
When I revisited my doctor he sent me for my regular blood tests. The results amazed him.
Despite being 63 my blood pressure had dropped to that of a healthy 30 yr old. I'd stopped all my tabs.
My blood results were perfect and my pre diabetes had disappeared. I no longer took lansoprazol, the protein pump, as I no longer had acid reflux. My libido rocketed....I even got some teenage acne 😂
He was shocked but in fairness he listened to what I'd done and made notes. Doctors exist in a bubble and have less exposure to other solutions than you may think.

I really liked this one! So glad she talked about the organ meats. I have been on the fence about trying carnivore because I DO NOT want to eat the organs and everyone talks about gotta eat the organs. So glad she talked about it and it makes total sense when she was talking about how there is only one liver so obviously the organ eating is not necessary! Obviously only one or two people back in the day got the organs, so obviously not necessary to sustain this way if eating. Yes! Makes me feel more confident that I can do this now. Also, thought here. You know how kids always bulk at veggies and we have to work hard to get them to eat them? Well, maybe it's because their natural instinct is that we don't need them?

If you eat clams, oysters or any shellfish, you are basically eating the whole animal so there are your "organs," in the off chance that you need them. The carnivore diet is so nutrient dense regardless. Save those organs for the omnivores. They need them a lot more than you do.

I grew up on a farm. We had liver once or twice a month. My mom was a good cook and I quite liked it. If you eat mainly red meat, you can get too much iron. I'm nearly 70 and plan on starting this next week. I need to lose about 15 pounds and have Sjogren's Syndrome. I lost hair when I tried keto. I'm hoping this works better.

Same thoughts from me. If I had known/tried #keto #ketovore 20 years ago, perhaps my CAC would not be quite so high, my knees may have not needed to be replaced, my eyes would not have developed retinopathy and I could have resolved by T2D sooner... but alas my life has dealt me a different set of cards but still SO grateful I listed to Dr. Sarah Halberg's Ted Talk in August 2019 which led me down this path.

I still do not like liver, but since my reptilian mind makes me crave for it, I consume it quite often. I grind it raw, salt a big spoon full and turn the freshly ground mush on my tongue so the salt side is against my taste receptors. With a sip of mineral water I am able to destroy 150g/day as a survival medication. Lately I have found other mental challenges (Goggins style) from incect eating. I hate them too, but life is good ;)

I live in France and its normal for the hunt to give all the organs to the dogs. The prized item for Northern European hunter gatherers was bone marrow.

  • @CS-uc2oh
    @CS-uc2oh 2 роки тому +1

If you watch videos of tribes around the world, many of them offer organs to different groups within the tribe. For example the liver may go to the pregnant women or the kidneys to the males who heard the livestock, etc. But they wouldn't give those organs to any group they don't think needs it. Also a liver would be divided among the specified group so they wouldn't eat a large amount. I make liver jerky because I like it but only eat it when I crave it and only crave it when I'm iron deficient.

My comment is completely anecdotal, but I find it interesting that people who eat carnivore look so nice and young. Vegans tend to look so thin without much life in their skin, making them look so much older. I’ve tried it all, but just know I always felt better eating more meat and less of everything else. Also as a side note, my grandma is 101 years old. Never ate a vegetable in her life. She has a horrible diet, so I can’t speak to that, but clearly the lesson to “eat your veggies!” isn’t quite the whole picture 😂
