Interesting mix of traditional and modern. Traditional in that they still eat dung beetles found in buffalo sh*t, but modern in that they can use their smart phone to sub to my channel.

Northern Thailand is the best and everyone is welcoming. Got invited to a random families dinner once and ate things that you wouldn’t expect. Hospitality is amazing. Please tip generously when you visit these countries. Can’t wait to go back!

Righteous1 Park Minje karen people are actually Original from both Thailand and Burma and their mother Tongue are KAREN both the karen from Burma and karen from Thailand. Karen people have been living in Thailand before Thai people their Population Are Around Half a million to 1 million, The karen from Burma population are 11 to 12 Million Back in the day There are no Thailand or Burma and the karen people have lived in both side, until British colonies Burma, they divided Burma and Thailand the karen from Thai side become Thai citizen and the karen from Burma side become Burma citizens however until 1994 and 1995 there’s a War between Karen Army and Burmese junta that’s when large number of karen run to Thailand and become refugee some are not refugee and illegally work in Thailand pretty Much in karen history those border area such as Chiang Mai, Mae Sot, Mae Hong song and more are belong to Karen people, if you go to Mae sot border you will the karen hero call pah wor and also a hero for Thai people and the Thai people respect him as their hero as well because he help fought For Thai during Burmese king invasion of Thailand sorry for too much information some how not many karen really know well of their history because of both Burmese and Thai Rewrite history and they don’t wanna show karen people in history page . The karen first capital city of karen people was Chiang Mai in Thailand and the karen call it Kee Mae and now karen capital city is in Burma karen state, Hpa-An.
These Karen people are native to Thailand. Karen people indigenous region is a vast area from Chiangmai mountains to Karen state

I was born in Australia but I’m Karen too. I went to Karen village 2 years ago it was such interesting experience. I’ve been binge watching all your videos , the food was so unusual especially growing up Australia…so amazing to see how they live

I wish more people had an open mind like you. Im tired of hearing people bash other cultures cuisines. You dont know the struggles they go through and they might not have resources like you. I personally probably wouldnt try it but i understand that each culture got their own way of living.
Of course you'd try it. Few days there, the community spirit would get hold of you and you would just dig in.

It’s amazing seeing Karen people being visited. Growing up as Karen we always eat different things from people which I always hid from friends at school. This video honestly bring back so much memories.
I'm from a Hmong tribe and we eat things that people consider weird also. Like the weirdest thing I ate was Coyote. Taste like a really tender beef.

After watching lots of Sonnys' adventure, i cant help to wonder how strong his immune system has become.
For being a village full of Karen’s...they seemed really nice. No one yelling, asking to talk to the manager, no one yelling at people having fun. Apparently the Karen’s in that country are much nicer than the ones in North America🤷🏻♂️😂

My family and I visited Chiang Mai and spent about a week there. It was fantastic! We visited countless shrines and temples, ate so much street food, and shopped so many street bazaars. Definitely one of the best trips I've ever done. You'd think that being Malaysian, we'd visit there more lol.

and honestly, most of the places that eat rat meat are rural farm areas away from the filth of the cities... so the meat should be fairly fine and uncontaminated. I kinda draw the line at gopher here myself, but squirrel, no probs... just depends where and what they eat, I figure.
I have had rats during the war in another country. They are definitely not your New York city rats. They usually live under ground in a hole and feed on grains, grass, and small insects and probably small snakes. Not your typical rats in New York eating garbage.

I am from Myanmar and I got too excited seeing a food channel show our food culture. I love your videos. I love seeing the exotic food shown on this channel. Please do more food review of Myanmar. I personally like and would recommend “wat thar dote htoe”. Pork on a stick, different parts of pork on a stick. Also tea leaves salad and “mote hin kar”.
