As a Karen person, it is not very often we get this kind of exposure. I'm so happy that you are showing our culture to the world. Thank you very much Sonny.
The montage by the end of this video is both sad and fascinating. Culture and tradition is such a beautiful thing. This is not just a food review show, it encapsulates and captures the way of life of people in the world. I love what you and your team do Sonny.
As an indigenous Asian ethic myself, similiar to the Karen, I really enjoy these deep dives into these villages. I myself live in America my whole life, but have heard of all these other village and people. There are countless numbers of them through out alll south east Asia. I love that Sunny and his team go and show these people, that I've wondered where and how they live.
So you are American. Be American. Because foreigners who go seek the exotic and are not trained anthropologist or cool as Sonny are ruinining indigenous cultures when they travel with their selfie stick and claim ro be in some dramatic journey to search for their roots. Amazing! Lots of Karen refugees in the US actually. I had the chance to spend a lot of time with Karen refugees in Minnesota, and this video really brought me back. Thanks!
The majority of the karen refugee population in the US is from Burma not really Thailand. It's because of the militant conflict between the karen tribes in burma and the burmese government. I am also Karen myself but trying to reconnect to my roots is so weird these days.

Sir Sonny, the question you asked her at last part of this episode hit me of the reality. Most of the Asian Countries, Country side provinces are experiencing near tradition extinction, this is very alarming, specially their tradition is the root of the country most but not all Asian Countries Government are doing or directly neglecting this fact. They keep on posting in the Social Media Platforms about the Government protecting them but in reality nothing is really happening. Sir Sonny I'm happy because you being one of the "top tier" food vlogger in the whole world noticed this problem. Because I know food is the best way to represent one's culture and tradition. I am hoping and praying that you continue with strength and safety your beautiful art of presenting cultures thru their food. More power sir Sonny!
If the younger generations don't want to continue the traditional way of life, there's nothing the government can't do about it. Culinary tradition basically will never die if the food tastes good. Anything else is up to the whole younger generation, if they don't want to keep it alive, it'll die no matter what the government does.
One suggestion Sonny: I think you should visit Nagaland, probably during the Hornbill Festival (in the first week of Dec.), and other North Eastern States of India. I'm sure you can get a very good episode out of their unique cultures and cuisines. It's nothing like the rest of India.
